@maddyz: Ooooh I've been thinking about a double city select for a little while. Good on you for getting it for a good price!
@katsupgirl: Congrats and welcome! I'll add you to our list!

I had my 14 week appointment today! Everything is fine, baby had a heartbeat of 150, and all my first trimester labs came back great! They told me to keep doing whatever it is that I'm doing. I also lost a pound, but they are not concerned because I started out heavier this time.
My next appointment is May 17 for my early elective glucose tolerance test and my anatomy scan! In six weeks I'll know if this is a he or a she!

@avivoca: yay!! I love hearing the heartbeat and being reassured that everything is fine
@MrsKoala: I'm excited I'm on the list!

@maddyz: go for it! We bought our main stroller used and the biggest "problem" is just fading on some fabric.
@katsupgirl: @Mrsbells: Congrats! So nice to have our group grow
@avivoca: Great appointment! So exciting that you'll find out at the next one!
I had my 16 week appointment today and everything was good too. HB 146 and I did the second part of the NT bloodwork. I had to reschedule from yesterday so I saw a doctor instead of a midwife and she was great. I don't know why I'm so paranoid that OB's are scary! Oh and A/S is scheduled 4/27.

I think most of us are out of the 1st trimester. What "fun" pregnancy symptoms are you experiencing?
The heartburn/reflux is starting to be a problem. I'm still a bit nauseous given the right circumstances. I also realized that I need to eat small meals or else I feel overstuffed and gross or I get headaches. I'm definitely not ravenous this time around.

@katsupgirl: Lately I have been feeling fine, which is amazing. I still have to take Unisom/B6 because I have learned the hard way that I feel very sick when I don't! I've tried to skip it twice and was just miserable the following days. No heartburn yet but I can feel digestion/gas going on all the time which is really annoying!

@katsupgirl: Still not out of the woods yet, this morning was a hard one. Most of the other things i am noticing have to do with joints loosening. I need to sleep with my snoogle or my back hurts for days. I also have to drink lots of water, but in little bits at a time, which is hard when I am not sitting at my desk.
I still have days where this pregnancy doesn't feel real.
LO1 just started walking! this feels like such a game changer for me.

@katsupgirl: I'm still nauseous, brushing my teeth is the worst. I'll start gagging and throwing up within seconds of putting the toothbrush in my mouth
I have a nasty taste in my mouth all day long too.. but I definitely feel much less tired than I did a few weeks ago
watermelon / 14467 posts
@katsupgirl: I usually feel pretty good. I still get very (very) tired in the afternoons and I still can't look at lemon yogurt without wanting to vom. I can tell my joints are getting looser because running/any other exercise is hurting a bit afterward, but I'm just taking it easy.

@Mrsbells: I gagged last night while flossing. I have to get six cavities fixed on Monday, I have no idea how I'm going to survive someone poking around in my mouth for two hours.

@avivoca: ugh, I cant imagine! I need to have a dental cleaning done, but at this rate I plan to wait til after I have the baby, I just cant deal with anyone in my mouth now.
persimmon / 1270 posts
@avivoca: Oh no! I HAVE to get to the dentist and just can't imagine at this point...
watermelon / 14467 posts
@Mrsbells: The cleaning was actually fine, they were really good about giving me a break if I needed it and went really fast on the parts of my mouth that are sensitive. Luckily (I guess), the cavities are mostly away from the areas of my mouth that trigger my gag reflux, but I'm still not looking forward to it.

@katsupgirl: Still nauseous here, too. I think I might be turning the corner a bit though. My appetite has come back a little and I'm getting some more energy. Hopefully, this means it's almost the end!

@Mrsbells: omg brushing is the worst! With LO1 I threw up every single time I brushed through 18 or 20 weeks. The unisom has stopped it this time but the two times I skipped it, instant gagging just looking at the toothbrush!

@Mrsbells:I picked up a piece of banana LO1 had spit out and lost my breakfast.... but i do ok with the toothbrush.

@katsupgirl: I feel so bad for you ladies who are still experiencing nausea! Glad there is some relief out there.
I feel almost embarrassing normal and good at almost 18 weeks. The only downside is having to pee 2-3x in the middle of the night. I think I'm carrying this girl solely on my bladder. My hips/back has hurt a little, but as long I remain active and exercise, I feel good.
My pants/skirt situation is getting pretty interesting. Still in my regular clothes but it's getting touch and go.

Oh, and I cannot look at cat vomit without gagging. My cat threw up a leaf the other day. I started gagging, my husband came in and then started laughing at me because it was a leaf on the floor that had been spit up but still looked like a leaf. I just couldn't handle it.
I'm going to die this summer when he's gone and the cat pukes on the table or something and my dog can't get up there to eat it.

@maddyz: ugh its the worst. With my first pregnancy I didnt have this much nausea

@Mrsbells: One does. We've had the vet look at her, changed her food, etc. and she still does it.

@mrsjd: You're still in your regular clothes! I'm impressed! I can only fit in T-shirts or tank tops of mine now. Pants have been a no go for a couple weeks.
clementine / 777 posts
@MrsKoala: Well, I should probably be more specific. And it's created a whole other set of worries because I worry she's not growing on track. I'm definitely growing (I took a comparison pic), but I just hope everything is okay. Also remember this is my first which I hear makes a HUGE difference. I'm also tall at 5'7". All my dresses, shorts, shirts fit. I have 1 pair of jeans that no longer fits and my work pencil skirts look like too tight and blah. So while I'm still in nonmaternity, I am definitely being selective. I want to wear maternity! But every time I try they look dumb and too big. But I want the comfort!

@mrsjd: with my first I was still in normal clothes at 19 weeks even, I am 5ft 11 and I wasnt showing much.
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
@mrsjd: Ahhh I forget with all of the #2s on the board that you'll be on a different track! Ok, now I'm not surprised anymore. I was similar to you last time (and I'm also tall). I didn't show at all until 21 weeks the first time. I forget that I'm as big now at 17 as I was at 23 last time! I've got to be more mindful that things are different this time since it's the second time around!

@katsupgirl: I am feeling so much better. I still burp like I drank a 12-pack, but I've been feeling almost like myself. More energy, no more morning sickness and just a much happier person in general. I finally stopped taking my Reglan and now I'm just drinking lots of chamomile tea and taking Natural Calm (magnesium). Pregnancy is so crazy because I already am forgetting what it felt like to be sick all day.

@MrsKoala: Good, that makes me feel better about my growth! I have a little cheeseburger belly but no one would guess I'm pregnant. Yes, there are so many second time mamas! I'm looking forward to drawing from the collective wisdom as we get closer and into the newborn stage!
@Mrsbells: Thank you for sharing! That helps me!
@tlcbaby: So glad you hear you're feeling better! Sounds like everyone is starting to feel human again.

@MrsKoala: it's amazing how different it is the second time around! My belly button popped out weeks ago by the first tint that didn't happen till much later. My OB said the uterus doesn't go back to its original size after the 1st baby

@MrsKoala: I'm okay with it, but I'm not gold, so if it's a gold thread, I'll just post here.
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
@avivoca: I think only maybe two of us are Gold anyway so it would seem kind of silly to have a Gold thread! I mean just a separate regular thread for bumps.

@mrsjd: I didn't need maternity for a long time with my first! We went on vacation when I was 18 weeks and still fully in regular clothes and I'm pretty short too. This is my third and I still fit in a couple pairs of regular jeans. Soooo don't worry!
@MrsKoala: Yes separate thread sounds good! I'll wait til Friday when I'm officially 16 or 17 weeks to take one. Having total brain far not remembering how far along I am! Last I remember was 14 weeks but I had my 16 week appointment already?

@mrsjd: It took me forever to show with my first. Really, I carried super small the whole time and didn't gain much weight. Everyone commented on it all the time. It made me feel super weird and worried especially in the beginning.
I had a 9 pound baby....
I think being all 5'8" and having a long torso helped.
I think #2 is a totally different story, but still at almost 17 weeks I hardly look pregnant and am starting to get comments and worry all over again. Even th

@MrsKoala:
Hi! I was browsing through here because my best friend is due in sept and realized I didn't let anyone know I miscarried Jan 25th so I should be removed from the list.. I am currently 6 weeks pregnant, so all smiles and hopefully this baby stays for the long run. Best wishes and happy healthy babies and pregnancy for you all!
