@MrsKoala: Thanks for updating. And I could very well be the first baby. My platelets did not drop further but they are still pretty low. My doctor is considering inducing me early because of the low platelet count. I'm now on steroids to try to bring them back up. I don't think they're going to let me go past 39 weeks. I am pretty disappointed by it but it sounds like a serious concern for my health if they are low during delivery.

@mrsjd: Oh no. I know that's not the news you wanted but at least they didn't drop further. 39 weeks is still pretty great, though. Who knows? Maybe she will come on her own before an induction? We will cross our fingers for you!

@MrsKoala: That reminds me, can anyone tell me what the mucus plug looks like? I had an abnormal amount of discharge this morning (like a LOT) but it was white. Sorry if this is gross, ladies.

@MrsKoala: Thank you so much for re-posting this. I had lost track of when everyone is due!
@mrsjd: I'm so sorry to hear about the latest with your platelet count. I know you had hoped for the number to improve and had not intended on being induced so early.
Re mucus plug, I have no recollection about mine! Not even sure I lost it clearly or, if I did, I had no idea what it was!

@avivoca: @MrsKoala: Yeah, now I'm thinking mine was just weirdo pregnancy stuff. I've also started having night sweats. But my sleep is fine, so I feel bad complaining!

Oh, and re the order of these September babies, I am really, really hoping that Baby continues cooking as long as possible. Above and beyond wanting to get closer to my due date, I am in no way imaginable ready for this baby to arrive yet! Of course because I feel so strongly about that every single ache, pain, or feeling that's not quite right puts me on high alert and I am convinced Baby will come early. When I saw my doctor yesterday, she reminded me that second babies often follow the same typical timeline as first babies and LO was born at 40+2. But of course things could happen at any moment but I am not feeling ready yet and may not for a while longer!

@mrsjd: I lost mine in labor, I remember getting undressed at the hospital and being like, "Oh look, there it is in my pants," very calmly before I had another contraction and probably called my husband something vulgar. I hear you on the sweats and then the general moistness downstairs. Some days it's unbearable.
@MrsKoala: Thanks for posting the list! I'm probably still going to be pulling up the rear if I go late like I did last time. That's okay, I'm cool with being the caboose.
@Periwinkle: I am both ready and not ready. Baby is low and my pelvis/hips hurt, but I don't want a NICU stay, so probably once I hit 37 weeks I will be telling baby to GET OUT. Last time, I was so zen and like, "Baby, you can come whenever you want, it's cool if you are late." This time, I think I might cry if I make it to 40+4 and am pregnant longer than last time.

@MrsKoala: Thanks for reposting!
@mrsjd: yep agree that it is very boogery. Minext had some streaks of blood I think. And sorry the platelet count is not improving yet. I hope you can avoid induction but it's not the worst thing. My first was induced at 39 weeks and it was fine.
@Periwinkle: I agree...no way am I ready for baby yet! He is staying put until his due date!

@Periwinkle: Ugh on work and not getting to sleep in, even when you've made your needs very clear. I'm so sorry it's been so rough!

@mrsjd: If it helps, I've had a done of yucky discharge lately but I'm fairly sure it wasn't my plug. Glamorous.
@Periwinkle: I'm not ready either. I'd be happy to go to my due date! LO1 was born at 40+1. I'd be cool with that again.
nectarine / 2280 posts
@Periwinkle: only an hour?!? How late are you going to have to work today?
@mrsjd: that could be the plug. If you weren't having any discharge before then it's likely to have been the plug.
About going early I actually just had my baby boy and I'm only 37 weeks. I lost my plug 2 days before. I was happy he chose his birthday. I was way uncomfortable and out of room.

@MrsKoala: @Periwinkle: I'm SO not ready. I am a first timer and I'm mildly terrified. On one hand I'm so excited to meet her but on the other, I realized today I don't have baby socks. I know that's silly but I feel so unprepared generally.
@katsupgirl: WHAT?! Am I reading this correctly? Congratulations! I hope you and he are recovering nicely.

@mrsjd: I think I'm actually more terrified this second time. And yes you that right. So far recovering okay. A little groggy though.

@skipra: Thanks for setting up this group! I requested to join!
I've had some craziness over the past 2 weeks that have included 2 ER visits for high blood pressure. They are typing to figure out if I have gestational hypertension or preeclampsia. I'm currently doing a 24 hour urine collection to check the protein and also monitoring my blood pressure at home. It looks like there's a very good chance they will induce me in 2 weeks at 37 weeks. Luckily Baby Boy is a good size so they're not concerned with his growth. I have to go twice a week for NST at my doc office to continue to monitor. I'm keeping my fingers crossed everything is ok for the next two weeks!

@Christy412: Oh wow! I'm so sorry you are going through this! I hope they figure out what is going on and that things calm down for the next few weeks.

@Christy412: How frightening! It sounds like it's been an eventful few weeks and I'm sorry you've had these worries. Very good news about baby's size, though, so that's reassuring.

@Christy412: what a stressful couple of weeks! Hoping the next two weeks pass swiftly and uneventfully for you. Do something fun for yourself to take your mind off of everything.

@Christy412: Goodness! That's a lot to I through right at the end. At least it sounds like everything will be okay if you have to meet baby a little early.

Do you all have names picked ok? I am really struggling. I flip back and forth from feeling like it's OK to wait until i meet lo and feeling like I need to be super sure ahead of time.
I freaked out a couple days after lo1 was born wishing we had picked our other choice. But i like what we chose in the end... I hope to avoid the worry and doubt, but maybe there is no way to. Hormones are crazy in those first few days.
