@Adira: Yes sorry I missed that part @Smurfette: thatz so hard poor R
I had J in a body hug on the table to keep him still and he was already screaming by then so the shot was just one more thing the doc did. So I guess in that sense it was not any more difficult and he didn't seem to be in pain afterwards.

R is 22.10lbs and 31.5". The nurse didn't write the percentages down. But she gained almost 3lbs since her 12 month appointment. Was 19.15. Girlfriend loves her milk, pasta, and cheese. Pedi said she is doing great! Said they like 10-15 words by 18 months.

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: That's awesome!! She weighs more and is taller than Xander, so her percentiles would be even higher than his (23rd for weight, 45th for height)! Plus she's a girl, so they'll be even higher! Go R!!

@Smurfette: nice! how many words can R say right now? how are you feeling about having her in the new daycare? has the ride home been much easier now that she's not in the car so long?

we had J's 15 month appointment 2 weeks ago, and our ped went through this checklist to see if he's delayed in any area, and he said J's right on track. i never know what to think because he hits his milestones differently (some earlier, some later) than noelle, so it was reassuring for me to know that i don't need to pursue EI or anything like that (at least for now). he still only has 4 words - mama, dada, hi, and bye... so i wasn't sure if i should be concerned. noelle was so verbal so early (by 12 months she was saying 20 words), so it's hard not to compare. though just today he said "book"! he's also pretty good at signing and getting his point across to us.

J weighed in at 26.5 lbs, and was 32.5 inches height. Forgot his head circumference, but he's 90th percentile height, 75th weight, and 80th head or something like that.

R sounds like a tall girl! only an inch shorter than J, and she's younger and a girl!

    @Smurfette: thats great!

  6. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: I think the height might be wrong. She doesn't seem that tall to me.
@Mrs. High Heels: She says Mama, Dada, Bye, side (outside) regularly. She can say Hi, more and book. Then said yellow, turtle once. But she really doesn't talk that much.
I really like the new care. She is still crying at drop off, but they switched her morning room. I hope with dropping off with the same teacher she will get better. I saw that teacher when I picked her up and she said she was fine right after I left. I love the short drive with her. I think I am much happier and she is when we get home. I get me time and no stressing over her. She is napping 1.5 hr every day, going to bed better and sleeping longer at night. Win win!

@Smurfette: I'm glad to hear that both of you are happier and less stressed now. That's such good news that she's getting longer naps in, and is getting more sleep overall!! Getting some me time back is a HUGE HUGE win. Does wonders for our sanity...

I have totally been meaning to be more involved over here, but I only get on HB for short bursts & then I'm so behind. It's hard to catch up!

Sadie turned 16m today, but she had her 15m appointment 2 weeks ago. Her stats were: 20lbs 15oz, 32" & a big head.

@Smurfette: I can't believe she's so tall. She looks so tiny in pictures! And, I am so, so glad the new daycare is working out so well.

@Mrs. High Heels: He sounds perfect! Sadie's got a good little vocab, but the doctor said as long as they have "mama" & "dada" down at 15m they don't worry.

@photojane: I really think they measured wrong!

@photojane: Me too! This thread goes super fast, and then I feel bad not being able to respond to everyone's updates so end up not updating at all! I'm here in bursts too, but just pop in whenever you can.

Thanks for the reassurance! I asked my ped how many words should he have, and he was like, "at this age I'd like to see them have 5 or so...", and when I said, "oh.. he only has 4...", my ped amended his answer and said that he's not worried, and that 4 is fine, lol.

@Smurfette: do you have a growth chart at home? yea they're so squirmy sometimes when they lay them down on the table, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was a bit off.

I'm kind of jealous that you all get 15 month appointments for your babies. Our next one isn't until 18 months and I really want to know how much he weighs.

@photojane: This thread can be so hard to keep up with but just keep popping in when you can. Happy 16 months!

@Mrs. High Heels: J is such a big guy! That is awesome that he said book. We still only have three words here, but it sounds like he is trying to say papa he just isn't quite getting it out.

@silver1: That is awesome that the two molars came in so easily, hopefully the other two are the same. I'm looking forward to all these teeth being in, I'm so over teething.

We had such a rough night last night and we are all so tired. So far tonight is better, fingers crossed it stays good.

I want to go to bed but I have to get packing since Isaac and I leave first thing Saturday morning. Just got our laundry done. I haven't even made a list, so I hope I don't forget anything. I finally get to meet my niece, she will be two months next week. Isaac is getting pro photos done, so I'm going to get a few with his cousin too. It is the same photographer who did our wedding and his 3 month photos, so I'm looking forward to it.

@ALV91711: my next one after this isn't until 2 years, unless it's something pressing! I always thought I'd at least get an 18 month appointment too. I'm kind of glad I don't have to take time off to go in for awhile though. After this it'll just be once a year check ups! Sorry for your rough night of sleep. How many times does he usually wake up these days? Yay for pro pictures though!! You'll have to show us some sneak peeks once they're in!

  16. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: Yay!!!!! So glad to hear that the new daycare is working out, despite the crying at dropoff!!!

@Mrs. High Heels: Xander only have 4 "words" too. He says Mama, Dada, Uh-oh, and "Cra" which is cracker. Those are the only consistent things he says and our pediatrician didn't seem concerned!

@photojane: Yay for 16 months!!! Sounds like she's doing well with weight/height, etc! Yay! And don't worry about not being able to keep up. I'm on all the time and sometime I get behind too!! When that happens, I just give my update and start over, haha.

@ALV91711: Jealous of the pro photos! I never did any of those and I regret it!

  17. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@ALV91711: Have a great trip!!! The pictures will be great!!
@Mrs. High Heels: That is odd you don't get 18 month. We have a sheet we have to fill out for that one to make sure she is where she should be developmentally.

@Smurfette: @Mrs. High Heels: @photojane: yay for all the great updates on growth and general development.

@Smurfette: so glad that the day care situation is working out so wonderfully for you.

@ALV91711: yay, have a safe trip! Getting pro photos of the two sounds amazing.

Nothing much new on our end which I guess is good news. I still have to go get my blood drawn every 2 weeks to rule out any infection with "weirdo virus" and B has to go get his blood drawn Wednesday to check on the liver markers. Hope they are finally down and we can stop pestering him with needles.

We're off now to go pick him up from daycare and then going to his swimming class

@ALV91711: I'm also a little jealous of the 15 month appointments. Our next appointment is 18 months too. I'm pretty sure we'll be back to the doctor before that.

I am so behind on this thread. Z started walking two weeks ago at 15 months. Things have changed so much since then. For the first time in her life she's really napping. Daycare is regularly getting 1.5 hours and sometimes up to 2.5. She wakes up mid-nap but they soothe her back to sleep. Now that she's walking she's having more fun everywhere we go.

Weaning is a struggle. I cut out the after-work session again two weeks ago (I did before the pneumonia & HFM). She's still throwing tantrums daily and it breaks my heart. I told DH I would cut another session on Monday. I am dreading LOs reaction so much.

Like several of you mentioned, LO is starting to really develop a special relationship with Daddy. She says Daddy all the time and my name has even changed to Daddy. For the first time LO got upset and ran crying to Daddy even though I was closer. He was stunned but it was pretty touching.

@Corduroy: Yay for walking!!!! Sorry to hear that weaning is a struggle though... that's so hard.

    @Pumuckl: Have fun swimming!!
@Corduroy: Yay for walking! I love that R is walking. I think it makes it so much easier. Sorry weaning isn't going great. but yay for better naps!!

DH dropped off R this morning with her normal teacher and she cried when he left. He had to go back and drop off a sippy cup and said she was playing fine. So I really think she is going through some separation anxiety. Hopefully she gets over it by next Sat, my cousin is coming to babysit so we can have a date night!

  23. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: Aww, separation anxiety is rough! I suspect she'll still cry when you guys leave next Saturday for your date, but will probably get over it quickly just like at daycare!

  24. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: I hope so! She will see her on Father's Day, so hopefully the face will still be fresh in her mind. I already told DH will have her take her out on the deck to play and then we can sneak out.

  25. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: Can your cousin come over a little early too so that R has time to warm up to her before you leave? I try to do that with my mom whenever she babysits!

  26. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: She is coming early so she can play with her since she goes to bed at 7, but not sure what time. But I am sure she can. DH and I don't have plans till 730. But we wanted to give them time alone so we will head out as soon as we can. Patio drinking!

BTW, how is the room sharing going?

  30. Mrs. High Heels

    blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts

@Smurfette: The room sharing is going well! Right now they still have staggered bedtimes. Every once in awhile, when i'm putting N down, J will stir or even wake and stand in his crib, but he's able to put himself right back to sleep. I do get anxious when that happens though.

  31. ALV91711

And we are at home with a fever. I got called about 2.5 hours after I dropped Isaac off and he was crying and not wanting to eat. By the time I got there he was sleeping on the little pull out couch. Advil and a nap and I'm hoping he cools off or I'm going to take him in. I really think it has to do with the molar that just started coming through the gum.

@ALV91711: poor Isaac hope he feels better soon.

@Mrs. High Heels: yay for room sharing still working so wonderfully.

@Smurfette: swimming was fun! We've had quite a heat wave and it was nice to cool off a little.

  34. ALV91711

    pomelo / 5621 posts

@Mrs. High Heels: Since starting daycare wake ups have been about 2 a night.

@Pumuckl: Hopefully the markers are down and that he can stop having blood taken for a while.

@Corduroy: Yay for good naps! I hope that dropping another nursing session isn't too much of a struggle.

@Smurfette: That is good that she is playing good at her new daycare. You must really be looking forward to a date night, that will be fun.

@Mrs. High Heels: Good to hear that room sharing is going well.

Well his fever was down by bedtime tonight. It took him a long time to get to sleep tonight and then he woke up an hour later. Today he was so sleepy. We spend the day cuddling, nursing and watching movies. I'm hoping he sleeps a few hours now so I can get some sleep now that I'm finally done packing.

Ugh, got into a fight with SMIL today. I just can't do anything right with her (and vice-versa)! I wonder if we'll ever get along again!

And on the ride home, Xander threw up all over himself and his car seat! I had to take the whole thing apart to clean and I'm not positive I'll be able to put it back together OR get all the smell out since I can't take the straps off and soak them in anything! Ugh!

  36. cheert16

    nectarine / 2631 posts

@Adira: soak them in white vinegar and hot water- when they dry it should take the smell out with them!

  37. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@cheert16: My instructions specifically say NOT to soak them in anything and to only wipe them with a damp cloth with mild soap!

  38. ALV91711

    pomelo / 5621 posts

@Adira: Sorry about your SMIL. I hope you get the car seat back together.

Isaac did so good traveling yesterday. Slept through both flights which made things so easy. He loves his baby cousin. He was patting her back, rocking her in the car seat, rubbing her head when she fussed and also poking at her nose and ears. Such cuteness.

His fever is gone but the molar is still not through and making him a bit crabby.

  39. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@ALV91711: Just put the whole thing back together! I ended up putting it out in the sun in the hopes of "bleaching" it out, haha. I THINK we got most of the smell out! I just hope I got the whole thing tight enough in the car again!

That is AWESOME that he slept through most of your travels and loved his baby cousin!!! Seeing cousins interact can be so much fun! I'm glad he was into it!! Bummer about the stupid molar though.

  40. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: Sorry!! Hope the smells comes out. I need to clean ours good. Food crumbs and pouche!
@ALV91711: Yay! So glad the flights were a success. Enjoy your snuggles with your niece.

Well we have had a craptastic day. R was up most of the night last night. Nothing helped, assuming teething cause I have never seen so much drool. She opens her mouth and there is a pool of drool in there. Nothing has made her happy today, overtired mess. We left my aunts early and just put her down. I don't see or feel anything but DH said that the 2nd molars look swollen to him. Would she get those before the canines? I am scared for tonight. I am tired already.

I feel so bad I have never seen her so miserable, wouldn't even dinner or wanted milk, which is never the case. I wish there was something we can to help the pain since Tylenol or Motrin don't see to be working.
