    R woke up at 130 last night, fussy off and on. Around 2 she started crying, so I went in there and gave her some Motrin. She fell asleep on me. As soon as I tried to put her back in the crib.....tears. So I ended up bringing her into bed with us. It was 330 before she finally fell asleep. Side note, no clue how people co-sleep. I couldn't get comfy at all cause she was right up next to me. She woke up right after I got out of the shower (quickest shower ever cause I was afraid she would fall off the bed). I think she would have gone back to sleep if she had been in her crib. She was in a great mood, but she looks tired. I hope she naps good.

    We felt her gum yesterdays, she won't let me look, but at least half of one molar has finally popped. So maybe it was the other half last night?

    I am going to need a lot of caffeine today!

    @Smurfette: Yikes!! Poor R and poor Mama! That sounds brutal! Hopefully today and tonight goes better for both of you!

    And I hear you about cosleeping! Every so often when Xander won't take a nap, I try to bring him in bed and take a nap with him, and I LOVE the snuggles, but I can't for the life of me actually fall asleep, because I'm scared he'll roll off the bed! I've only been able to sleep with him if Hubs is on the other side of him to block him from rolling!! It was easier when they weren't mobile.

    @Adira: Yes! She kept trying to crawl all over the pillows, DH, and I last night. We had to keep saying no no, R it is nite nite time and she would lay down. I do think she was confused as to where she was. That is only second time she has slept with us.
    DH left at like 5 and then when my alarm went off I was like crap how do I shower. I put pillows all around her but I showered super quick cause I was so worried she would crawl off the bed.

    @Smurfette: YES! Whenever (lately) I've brought Xander into bed with me, he thinks it's play time!!! He gets super hyper and just crawls all over the bed, including trying to stand up and walk around on it!!! Glad you all made it through the night safely!!

    @Adira: @Smurfette: Same thing here, being in mummy and daddy's bed = playtime... We have that same issue every weekend... I always nurse him in our bed and each and everytime I hope he'll fall back asleep - somehow he hasn't gotten the memo yet though that you can sleep longer on weekends and there is no need to get up at 6am

  7. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

    @Pumuckl: haha, Xander hasn't gotten that memo either, but at least he'll usually nurse between 5:00 and 6:30 and then go back to sleep until 7:00, so I can get a LITTLE extra sleep on the weekends!

    @Pumuckl: That is a work in progress in our house too. Sunday she slept till 645 which was awesome! She always sleeps later on DH's morning to get up...stinker!

    @Adira: @Smurfette: Glad we're not the only ones. We actually just adjusted to daylight savings here this weekend. So on the clock it was 7am when he got up. It sure didn't feel like it

    So I'll have to see how today goes at daycare, but I think Xander might be transitioned onto sippies! On Saturday, he drank 16 oz of milk and on Sunday he drank 18 oz!! So proud of him!!

    Also, the poor little guy has been sick and because he's not feeling well, he's been SUPER snuggly with me!!!! I hate that he's sick, but I LOVE the snuggles!

    haha, E was SCREAMING Sun-Wedn, nonstop, and at one point, i drugged her up and brought her into bed with me. It was all good until I moved to grab my phone and turn off the alarm. Then it was play time, as far as she was concerned. Points for trying!

    @Adira: oh I'm so jealous of Xander drinking so much. B did ok today but didn't even drink half an oz in all of yesterday

    I don't know why but B currently needs extra snuggles before he'll go to sleep. I'm just treasuring my last couple of baby days before I'll have a toddler on my hands
    I heart baby snuggles - simply THE best thing in the world!

    @blackbird: hahaha, why don't these babies like to sleep?

  13. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

    @blackbird: Yikes!!!

    @Pumuckl: Is he transitioning from bottles or anything at all? Xander didn't drink very much for a few weeks while we were transitioning from bottles/breastfeeding, but the last three days have been good, so I'm hoping it'll continue to be good. Maybe a transition is causing him not drinking much for you?

    @Adira: Great news!
    @blackbird: Is she teething?

    @Adira: no, we're still nursing mornings and evenings and he's had the same sippy cup for his water for 3 months now... I know he drinks when he's thirsty and the pedi said not to worry but it still drives me bonkers...

    @Adira: I struggled with big time oversupply the first year, which has made cutting back on feedings really challenging, and I probably wasn't as careful as I should've been. I didn't get any plugged ducts until I went down from 4 to 2 feedings. And then I got mastitis because J's nose was stuffed up one night and didn't feed well off the left boob, but I was too lazy to pump. I figured my supply would adjust accordingly - WRONG. Hopefully you have no issues weaning completely since you were down to one feeding for awhile now!

    @Smurfette: Oh man, at least you know the culprit!! Coffee is my best friend on night's like that. I hope you got through the work day ok!

  17. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

    @Pumuckl: Ahh, it's probably not too big of a deal since he's nursing twice then! I bet he's getting plenty!

    @Mrs. High Heels: Well, I've been down to one nursing session for a while, but this is the first time I haven't been pumping too! But I never had an oversupply (if anything, I barely kept up), and I THINK I was pretty good about reducing pumping slowly, so hopefully I'll be fine! And hopefully you'll be okay now too!

    OMG, R is a hot mess! She got something all in her hair today and all over her clothes. Then she fell asleep on the way home. So she woke up crying and nothing would make her happy. She did stop crying to eat some pasta and sweet potatoes. I just rocked her for 30 mins and put her down. Currently laying there rubbing her eyes and fussy. She is so over tired and in pain. I hope she falls asleep soon. The extra sleep would be good for her. I wish there was something I could do. I was in tears with her tonight. Parenting is so hard sometimes!

    @smurfette, I think so. She still only has two teeth! I hope R feels better soon. We actually bumped up her Advil dose by 50% because the recommended dose wasn't working. She was kind of in between doses anyways. I hope R gets some sleep tonight. And you, too!

    OMG, I went in and rocked her and she fell asleep and within 5 mins of leaving her in the crib she is up again and crying. I don't know what to do. This sucks ass having to do it by myself.

    @Smurfette: We had a night like that a few weeks ago. I had to sit with her for ages and let her fall asleep on my chest. She wouldn't even nurse! I hope R sleeps soon.

    @Smurfette: I hope that she sleeps better for you tonight.

    We co-sleep for the last hour or two most nights and he sleeps half on me usually. I don't always sleep that well, but I'd rather get a little more crappy sleep than be up.

    @Pumuckl: I wish they would sleep in on weekends!

    @Adira: That is awesome that he is on the sippy!! And drinking quite a bit too.

    @AprilFool: Love the photos.

    Daycare made me so mad this morning. Friday I had forgotten his sippies, but his teacher helped him drink from a cup and was fine with it, I checked in during the day to make sure he was drinking. When I picked him up she had said she did all right. Well this morning I drop him off and the one morning teacher asks if I brought his cups. I told her yes and that Friday I had just forgot. She then told me how inconvenient it was because they had to help him with a cup. I'm sorry but isn't it your job to help my baby. I didn't even know what to say, especially since his main teacher was fine about it. And really it was one day, it is not like I'm forgetting things all the time. DH wants me to put in a complaint. Would you guys or just leave it be?

    @Smurfette: Sorry feel for you and poor R Hope she is asleep and sttn and you can get some rest too. J has his molars coming in and he likes chewing on his A&A blanket at night it seems to help some.
    @ALV91711: I would probably say something its not inconvenient to do their job and its good learning as well for your lo to use a cup!

    @Mrs. High Heels: SERIOUSLY!!! I have been wondering for months how I'm supposed to do all these developmental activities suggested even for 9-12 month olds. Coloring? Forget it, goes in the mouth. Musical instruments? In the mouth. Bubbles in the tub - let me try to eat them. Everything in the mouth! And I can't wait for walking! Because K just wants to slither away and crawl everywhere.

    On the side note of walking, I'm fairly certain K can actually take a couple of steps unassisted, but she just doesn't want to. She can walk like 7-8 steps just holding my one finger on the side. She can take a step letting go from her chair to the sofa. She can walk all around the house holding 2 fingers or using the walker. But she never wants to try without my initiating. Though I have caught her in several almost stepping moments, so I think it might be soon.

    @ALV91711: I would mention it to the main teacher. I mean, they ARE there to help your child. It's harsh to call you inconvenient for a one-time incident.

    blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts

    @ALV91711: that's so rude and uncalled for! I've forgotten things here and there and have never gotten comments like that! I would want to say something, but my avoider/non confrontational side would let it slide just because they are my daycare and I'll have to face them all the time? I guess I like to pick my battles and that one I might be willing to overlook, even though I'd be seething inside. I'm glad it wasn't the main teacher that made that comment!

  32. AprilFool

    @ALV91711: Wow that was so rude of her! I am not sure I would say anything for a one off.. just steam about it to DH but if anything like that happened again I would then.

    @shopaholic: @silver1: Thanks!

    @AprilFool: she is so adorable!!!!!
    @ALV91711: I would be pissed too! But I wouldn't say anything!

    Well R finally fell asleep at 930. I put her in the crib cause she just kept rolling around in our bed. Like she wanted to sleep but couldn't. I just needed a break, so I just let her cry and within 10 mins she was out. It is 6 and she is still asleep so that is good. I will have to wake her by 630 so we can leave on time.
    I think the cat nap in the car is the main issue. She is tried but can go to sleep once she takes that. But I have tried toys, windows up and down, sippy cup, food,, nothing works

  34. Pumuckl

    pomegranate / 3601 posts

    @ALV91711: I'd be furious if they talked to me like that! But then chicken out of the complaint I think I would let it go this time but should the lady ever talk to me like that again put in the complaint.

    @AprilFool: Oh wow, what a cutie pie!!! Love the photos and how happy she seems!

    @Smurfette: Oh I'm glad she did finally sleep! Unfortunaley I have no advice on how to prevent cat naps. I'm pretty sure B did not nap at daycare today because he fell asleep in the car when we drove from our Dr.'s app. to daycare (at 11am)...

  35. Silva

    cantaloupe / 6017 posts

    @Smurfette: I'm so sorry. I'm sure its the nap, too. On days were we walk too late in the day and T falls asleep, even if its for 10 minutes, she is a wreck at bedtime and won't go down no matter what for hours.
    I know these are a no-no, but maybe you could use a mirror just for that one trip? Or talk to her daycare provider about how you can get her more sleep during the day- sounds like she's exhausted, poor thing.

    @Smurfette: Ugh, sorry to hear about your brutal evening!!! I can only hope that it gets better in time! Poor R! And poor you for having to deal with it solo all the time!

    @AprilFool: Oh my gosh, H is so adorable!! And those pictures came out gorgeous! What wonderful keepsakes!

    @ALV91711: Ugh, that's annoying about that daycare teacher! I probably wouldn't file a complaint, but maybe if it comes up, you could mention it to the main teacher again? Like maybe apologize again for forgetting the sippies and if she's like "Oh, that wasn't a problem!" you can so "Oh, well so-and-so said it was really inconvenient..." I don't know though. How annoying!

  38. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

    @Silva: We already have a mirror If someone is back there with her, we can entertain her and it will keep her up. But since it is just me, no dice. The problem is one boy, he doesn't nap long at all and wakes up and starts talking, and loud, so he wakes up R and the other kids. The teacher said she tries to get him to lay back down but he won't. It sucks. Especially since this kid just moved up with R so that means he will always be in her class causing issues. Annoys me too cause he isn't walking, so I don't think he should even be the the room yet.

  39. ALV91711

    pomelo / 5621 posts

    Thanks ladies!! I'm so non confrontational that I won't say anything. I'd rather save a complaint if something big happens. It felt good to get it out though. Today I'm taking extra sippies to leave in his basket to avoid this whole situation.

    It is almost 6am and Isaac is sound asleep. I feel bad having to wake him up, but we have to leave in 15 min.

    @Smurfette: I'm sorry that you had such a rough evening. I don't know how you do it on your own. I hope that tonight goes better for you.

    @shopaholic: Sounds like she just needs to get a bit more confidence to let go and she'll be toddling around in no time.
