I just set up my pre-admission testing with the hospital. What exactly do they do at this appt? I never had it done before, at least I don't think I have.

@justjules: Good luck today! Hope everything is fine with baby and you can still VBAC!
@psw27: Eeek, could be soon!!!
@bubblegum: Mine is always the day before/within 48 hours of my c-section. I think they mainly do some blood work and then explain preparations for surgery (no eating after midnight, special antiseptic soap to shower with, etc.), and what to expect when we get to the hospital.
pear / 1717 posts
@lilteacherbee: Yes it's the day before. Okay cool just so I know what to expect. Do you know how long it is typically? I'm not sure if I should have DH and DS go to the park while I do that or just have them wait

Lots of emergency C's today at the hospital so my version is pushed to tomorrow They're gonna have me come in for a quick position check today though so maybe I'll have some good news?
pomelo / 5791 posts
@lilteacherbee: @bubblegum: totally headband crazy over here too!!!
@bubblegum: Aww, I'm sorry mama. You never know, she could still decide to come early! My ds2 did (at 38w6d). Either way, it'll all be worth it once she's here! I never had any pre-admission testing with my csections!
@psw27: Ah h!! Exciting!!!
@justjules: Good luck today! I also don't put a lot of stock into their measurements - my "average" supposedly 7lb baby was over 9lbs.
@JennyPenny: Good luck at the position check!!! DD over here is still (painfully) flipping between breech and not. It's so uncomfortable when she does it now!
pomelo / 5220 posts
@justjules: Good luck today! I hope everything goes okay. I think those guesses are just guesses.... When my LO was born they kept saying he was 4 lbs and he was 5.5 lbs! (at 34w4d)
pear / 1717 posts
@ValentineMommy: That would be AWESOME!! Yeah when they called I was like ehhh sure I can schedule it now lol I don't know what it is but let's schedule it lol

@psw27: Could be any day for you!! Any signs that labor is on the horizon?
@abbydabbydoodlebug: Right?! We're 5 days into our birth month. C'mon babies!
@justjules: Good luck today. I hope it's nothing serious. I'm not super confident in the measurements they tell me at the appointments. Keep us updated.
@JennyPenny: Grr, that stinks, especially if you prepped for the ECV. Hoping for good news at your position check today.
pomelo / 5220 posts
@MapleMoose: this moment, no! But ya never know with these babies right? I feel a little more tightness and some additional Braxton Hicks today but those are "normal" for me.

So, this whole pregnancy DS has been telling everyone that his brother's name is going to be Josephine (seriously, where does a 2 year old even get that!?) and apparently he's told so many of the teachers at his daycare this that they've started questioning our sanity. Someone asked DS1's teacher today if it was true and she thankfully set the record straight. But I thought it was so funny how everyone took a 2 year old at his word
pomelo / 5791 posts
@bubblegum: Lol!
@JennyPenny: That's hysterical! Kids are weird...but then again, DS1, who's 4, insists that there is a boy at his school named Jacqueline. My son is very well spoken, and insists that his name isn't Joaquin, or Jackson, or Jack, or anything else we can think of! I'd like to think this little boy's name really isn't Jacqueline lol!
nectarine / 2460 posts
@ValentineMommy: There was a while that DS was talking about his friend Stephanie every day, and when I mentioned to his teachers how much he loves Stephanie they were like "uh...we don't have a Stephanie..." which had me worried for a bit. But it turns out he was saying "Daphne!"
ETA- maybe Jacqueline is Declan or something like that!?
pomelo / 5220 posts
@JennyPenny: ha! I think if I were the teachers I would assume there is some sort of mispronunciation going on! Is Josephine anything close to a name you are considering?
Just had my 37 week appointment. No real information, just a wait and see kind of appointment. My doctor was like, "you need to mentally prepare you could go past your due date." Um. I've never ever ever thought about it since I've had 9384 contractions and had a preterm baby before! Crazy to think I could end up with a May baby!
nectarine / 2460 posts
@psw27: Nope, he came up with Josephine before DH and I had ever talked about names. It must be such a mind shift to think about going past due. I honestly haven't even been considering it, and you have way more reason to expect you wouldn't! But at the rate these April babies are (not) showing up - who knows!?
Position ultrasound confirmed still breech, and I have been so wrong in where I think he is so I expect even my crazy movements that I associated with head down were actually still breech. This makes me feel a bit better because I had been thinking if they flip him tomorrow, he'd just flip back. Anyway, still scheduled for version tomorrow. She said I had everything in my favor for being successful so I'm going to remain optimistic

@bubblegum: I literally laughed out loud. I was like um yeah, okay. She ended the conversation by saying she's on call tonight and Sunday and she would love to deliver me so she made contradictory statements!
pear / 1717 posts
@psw27: That would confuse me! Like ehhh are we gonna do anything to move things along so you can deliver on those days or not really?!
pomelo / 5220 posts
@bubblegum: She said they don't intervene at all until you are 10-12 beyond your due date. I didn't really get into it with her since I don't think that is a reality, but there is no way I won't be advocating to be induced earlier. If my son was 5.5 at 34 weeks - at half a pound a week, if I get to 41 weeks that's approximately a 9 pound baby and I am not a big person... my husband is huge compared to me so I don't think that's such a good idea!

@littleblessings: Okay so I went back to your labor cookies...tell me more about this lovely little thing and how it worked for you...
Has anyone else tried them?!
pear / 1717 posts
@psw27: That's a long as time to wait after your due date! I would be soooo miserable lol! I had to wait too and I wanted to kill!!! And guess what I had an over 9 pounds babe! the struggle!
pomelo / 5220 posts
@bubblegum: I'll give it another week and then I'll be trying some of the "induction" methods that people recommend... including those cookies! My friend sent me a recipe for a smoothie with pineapple and dates to help induce, I'll try to find it!
ETA: Found it!

@psw27: Oh you'll have to let me know how that goes! I'm thinking of doing it but it's like I would really love to get one more weeks pay.
pomelo / 5220 posts
@bubblegum: True... the longer I work the more time I accrue towards my leave! Sigh. The sad realities of working moms in the US!
pear / 1717 posts
@psw27: Exactly! I hate it! With DS I left the Friday before my due date (due date was that Sunday) and I ended up not getting induced until the following Monday night and had him Tuesday night. Soooo I waste a hell of a lot of time at home. Given it was super nice to be able to relax but I could've used the money

Ladies, I'm still waiting his guy out! The midwife group called today and asked about any changes-mucous plug is starting to come out with lots of walking-then told me to have sex tonight (ugh that sounds miserable!) and then come in Friday for another sweep. They scheduled an appointment for Monday including an NST, and an ultrasound Wednesday with induction date set for Friday the 14th.
Common W, we're waiting!
nectarine / 2460 posts
@mrsmacSLP: Bah! Come out little man! My office swears it was the super garlicy garlic knots I ate that sent me into labor with #1. At this point garlic knots definitely sounds better than sex
apricot / 308 posts
@JennyPenny: oh I love garlic knots! I'm willing to do anything I guess at this point! But I know the midwife I don't like is on call tomorrow and Monday so I'm kind of holding him in for a bit. He can start coming tomorrow afternoon
nectarine / 2636 posts
@JennyPenny: Haha, seriously. My Dr says really the only thing that can get labor going is sex and I'm like, UGH. My poor DH. There's been a serious lack of adult time this pregnancy.
pear / 1739 posts
@bubblegum: I was 3cm dilated with my son. Ate 5 cookies. Went to sleep. Woke up at 2 the next morning to go potty. Came back to bed and my water broke. I'm making the cookies tonight since I had the membrane sweep and am still cramping from it. Hoping the cookies will push me over the edge. This is pretty much our last hope before pitocin.
pear / 1717 posts
@littleblessings: ohhhh so you were already 3 cm dilated before eating the cookies?! Omg you haveeeee to update me tomorrow on how you're feeling or even tonight!

Off topic - anyone feeling nauseous again as we near the end? By the time dinner rolls around, I can never figure out what to make/eat because I feel awful again!

@JennyPenny: @lilteacherbee: @ValentineMommy: @psw27: @MapleMoose:
Thanks ladies!! I just got back. Baby and fluid look good! So I guess it was just her positioning that threw my fundal measurement so off.
nectarine / 2460 posts
@ValentineMommy: yeah, on occasion. For me it doesn't last long but I've had some weird waves of nausea recently.
@justjules: Yay! Glad to hear it
pomelo / 5220 posts
@mrsmacSLP: come on baby!!
@ValentineMommy: yes to nausea! I think I just get too hungry or too full and feel gross.
@justjules: yay! Great news!
nectarine / 2636 posts
@ValentineMommy: I'm not nauseous but i have 0 appetite by the time dinner rolls around and I'm already tired so I have no motivation to cook. I feel bad for my DH and DD. DH ended up getting pizza tonight, lol.
apricot / 308 posts
@justjules: Oh so happy for you!
@abbydabbydoodlebug: Were having pizza tonight in hopes @JennyPenny s idea of garlic knots work too(or I really just don't want to cook anymore).
This may be a total first time mom thing and TMI....poops? I didn't poop at all yesterday and today it's been like 6+ times. Normal?
nectarine / 2460 posts
@mrsmacSLP: Well "clearing out" is supposed to be a good sign for labor coming soon...
I've had another night of crazy movements that I don't see how a breech baby could manage. I'll just take it as a sign that he's got lots of room and tomorrow's version will be a piece of cake
