@MrsB2012: oh yeah congrats on baby girl! Enjoy all the snuggles!! So many July babes! It'll be August soon!

@Mrs Hedgehog: You let your babe cook a little longer!! I know how you feel though, I'm anxiously awaiting mine now that our group has so many babes here!

@StrawberryBee: I used my Ikea octopus drying rack last night to dry my new covers that just came in the mail. I'm going to pick up another when I go downstate, cause they only hold like 16 items. So you might want to grab a couple.

@MrsB2012: OMG I am blind and totally missed this last night! Congrats!!! Sounds like a nice smooth labor! I love the name...I pushed real hard for Brook Lynn D (my middle name is Lynn and this lil one was conceived in Brooklyn so I thought it could be super cute!). Cant wait to see the little princess...

@StrawberryBee: I have the Medela Freestyle, and it can be up and running immediately via plugging into the outlet so if you want to hold off, you can. Just have your hubby clean/sanitize the parts when you're ready to use if you don't want to open the box now. I love how compact and portable it is!

@MrsB2012: Congratulations on the birth of your baby girl!! Enjoy all the snuggles!

@Mrs D: That is so darn cute!

Is anyone else completely drained of energy? I feel so lazy, I have things to get done and I just feel like parking myself on the couch. I'm incredibly irritable too, everything is getting on my nerves. I'm over being pregnant!

@StbHisMrs: Yes! I'm having a hard time even moving around. No energy at all. I didn't sleep at all last night though. I do not like complaining and I've tried not to at all this whole pregnancy. It's getting hard though.

@StbHisMrs: This! I'm so tired. We got up early this morning to go to Lowes for supplies for the baby's closet and then I sewed a couple of changing pad covers, and I'm pretty much done. I'm laying on the couch right now and have like no ambition to do anything. I'm also hungry all the time, but I can't eat large quantities because there is no room so I feel like I'm eating every hour...

    pomegranate / 3329 posts

@delight: I tried not to complain, but it didn't work!

@JamieLee: I continued my house cleaning from yesterday, which normally takes me half a day! Actually I'm not finished, but M just went down for a nap so I'm taking advantage of that

@StbHisMrs: 100%! Just little stuff like needing to sit instead of standing...Its getting on my nerves...I try to push through but then I get edgy and cranky!

Ok - I finally got the nursery "done"...as close as its getting before she makes her arrival! Here are some pics...

@MrsB2012: Congrats on your baby girl!!

@Mrs D: I'm in PA so it would be a bit of a hike...but possibly worth it so I don't have to cook for myself ;).

My DH was all excited that I made sloppy joes the other night lol. I just don't feel like eating dinner, so I even less feel like making it!

@JamieLee: thanks for the heads-up! I was going to get at least two, possible three. At $5 each and a 30+ minute ride from the house, I'm sure I'd find some use for them if I didn't need them all for CD's ^_^

@Alivoo01: Thanks for the advice on the freestyle! Did you just use the Medela steam/microwave bags to sanitize it the first time?

Sitting here at 39+2 feeling...normal? I feel like I shouldn't feel normal any more! Was super ache-y for the last four days, but now I don't feel so as much. No BH, no increased discharge, no nothing. I feel abnormal in my normalcy :P.

Oh, and the nursery is almost cleared out of non-baby stuff! Almost.

@Mrs D: love the nursery. I like that you have the Harry Potter series on the bookshelf, all ready to go!

I can't wait to post the pictures of ours, but DH is in the middle of putting shelves in the closet so everything from the closet is on the floor. We did get the wall decals put up, and I made curtains, changing pad cover, and the mobiles. All that's left to do is put everything away, hang the curtains, and finish the gallery wall. I'm eager to finish but he ran out of wood for the shelves, so we will be waiting another day...

@Alivoo01: Thanks! Thats what we were going for...not an explosion of pink!

@StrawberryBee: I pretty much dont eat anything I cook anymore either...I have gone back to my first tri eating habits - eggs and toast! I love the closet too - even more I love all the fun outfits inside it!!!

@JamieLee: Thanks - DH is a huge HP fan so the books were a must!!! Sounds like yours is well underway...Cant wait to see the end result!!!

@JamieLee: I know, I shouldn't complain about feeling fine! I'm a bit concerned about a comment the last OB made and that they'll start pressuring me to induce (no appointments necessary past this Wednesday, when I won't even be 40 weeks yet)

At least I made it through the weekend with the step kids without going into labor! The next time I see them will probably be after I give birth.

    ..!

@StbHisMrs: I'm totally drained of energy. Tried to take a walk to the Tim Hortons 5 blocks away and HAD TO TAKE A BREAK. It's depressing.

@Mrs D: So pretty! Love it.

@StrawberryBee: tis is the first weekend we've had then since I gave birth. I was really stressed about bed times, but I actually went better than i expected. Although, I haven't been very useful all weekend, but I blame that more on my recovery than I do Lukas! So I hope you heal up really quick!

@StbHisMrs: Yep, I'm pretty much a lump. I did nothing yesterday while my husband was at work except nap and get our address labels for birth announcements done. Today we were out and about doing chores for 4 hours, and I came home and napped again.

@Mrs D: So pretty. Love the green!

@StbHisMrs: zero energy here, too! For me though, it's more about the pelvic/back pain...I had to take a break walking around Costco yesterday! And forget standing to cook or bake- I do as much as I can sitting down.

Can't believe August is THIS week, you guys!!

@StrawberryBee: I NEED a couple of those octopus hangers! I've been prepping all my cloth diapers and trying to figure out how I will dry them on the regular.

    @MrsB2012: CONGRATS! Yay, babies!!!

@StbHisMrs: I can certainly relate to feeling extra irritable! I feel just so incredibly cranky most days. I wish I felt exhausted though. I've developed insomnia and lots of restless energy. It makes me want to punch anyone that tells me to "enjoy these last few weeks and sleep a lot".

@Mrs D: The nursery looks great!

@.twist.: Love the little raccoon. And the curious cat!

AFM, I threw my friend a bridal shower this weekend, and am FINALLY done with all my big commitments until my due date. Baby could come now please! The shower was great though, there were some other mamas there that gave me some great tips. I signed up for a local mothers group that organizes a meal train for the first 2-3 weeks after baby comes. Sounds like a lifesaver!

I feel completely normal (albeit LARGE) though. I do have newly developed insomnia, which means it's currently 4 am and I've been up for an hour. I might as well chalk it up to practice for baby.

@.twist.: hahah your pictures are like I game of I Spy! I Spy a little guy on the change table! Nursery looks great. Ours is grey too and nothing on the walls yet. We pick our crib up today and hopefully will start decorating too!

@redsmarties: I can hardly believe August is almost here! So many more babes still to meet. This will be a busy month for us!

So only another hour at the cottage and then we are driving a few hours a way to pick up crib from some friends. Hitting up a big mall on the way back home where undoubtedly I will spend lots of money on baby stuff. At least I made it through the weekend without giving birth at the cottage. Crazy to think that next time I'm at he cottage, ill have a tiny baby in tow!

    @MrsB2012 - congrats!!! That's awesome!

@Mrs D: and @.twist.: LOVE your nurseries. Mine looks a lot like @twist's since I also have the woodland theme (and I'm having a boy, lol!).

We did a TON this weekend. We completed our registry at BBB with the $ that DH's coworkers gave us at his shower and some gift cards we had. Then we finished the nursery, it is 100% done and ready to go - we still can't even believe it. Right now I only have grainy iphone pics so I don't want to post them just yet since you can't really see any of the details, but we made all of the art that's hanging and I'm really proud of it. I originally was going to go with gray and yellow, but I ended up liking gray and white better so we repained everything that was yellow to a glossy white like the picture frames, etc. We also mounted the monitor camera really high on the wall where the baby can't reach and it gets a perfect shot of the entire crib from above.

@JessKas: I'm in the same boat as you, all of my pre-baby commitments are done and I'm ready. And I don't have insomnia, but baby has totally dropped and is squishing my bladder so bad that I'm up every hour to pee which is pretty annoying. I'm only 35 weeks so to think of this going on for potentially another 6 weeks is a little stressful, lol!

@strawberrybee: I didn't use the Medela steam bags as I'm trying to reserve those for work (even though you can use each bag numerous times). I have a microwave sterilizer so I used that instead.

    Enjoy your peace and calm!

    @.twist.: Love your nursery!!!

@Jesskas: I had pregnancy insomnia also. I would wake up at 3am and be WIDE awake. Ugh! Then I'd need a nap at like 10am. Arg. LOL!!!

@Modern Daisy: Can't wait to see pictures of your nursery!

Watching a 'Pregnant in Heels' marathon that I PVR'd yesterday while I make my to-do list for this week. So strange to think that baby could be here at any time; its taking all my strength not to just run around like a crazy woman, cleaning everything (the exhaustion is stopping me, haha). Plans for today include vacuuming the nursery (and cleaning the popcorn ceiling), baking muffins for the freezer, and possibly assembling the Pack n Play.

What are you all up to? Who's at work/who's on leave?

  36. StrawberryBee

@.twist.: Me too!! Glad to hear things went okay with the kids. Ours are pretty self-sufficient. And they're used to me zonking out to sleep at 9:30 instead of staying up past midnight lol.

Is that Lukas on the changing table? and I love the cat photo bomb ;).

@JessKas: Do you have an Ikea near you? I can try to pick some up for you if you don't (not sure what shipping would be, though).

and yes, I was up from 4am on this morning.

@Alivoo01: What sterilizer do you have to use at home? I know, I was taken aback at the meager 5 bags per Medela box, until I realized they could be used multiple times.

@StbHisMrs: Yes, I'm usually ready for a nap by 11 am! And when I have to go to work for a meeting then I am ready to nap by the time I need to leave the house in the morning! I also get really tired when I go out for groceries or other errands. If I wake up anytime after 4 am I can't go back to sleep, so that's definitely not helping. Sounds like a common problem though.

@Mrs D: Your nursery is so cute! It looks very welcoming.

@StrawberryBee: I take comfort that you are 39+ and still clearing stuff out of the nursery. Makes me feel like less of a slacker with my own nursery!

@.twist.: I like your color scheme! And I really wanted one of those 3sprouts bins (either the fox or hippo), but we didn't end up buying it. Is that the death star on the shelf?

@redsmarties: I'm still working but it's not too intense. My main summer work is teaching an online class so at the moment it's mostly grading assignments and answering emails, which means I can usually work from home. Next Monday I'll be calculating course grades and after that I will be officially done! I'm also working on writing a couple papers but I should be basically finished with one of them today, and then I'll only have one more to worry about.

@Mrs D: I'm jealous of all of your delicious freezer meals!! I have absolutely no motivation to do anything like that! LOVE your nursery--the colors and patterns are gorgeous. And I am super jealous of that PB rocker!

@Sapphiresun: Glad your non-stress test went well!

@MrsB2012: Congrats on the birth of our first August girl!! Sounds like it was a quick labor--that's awesome!

@StbHisMrs: Yes on the being drained of energy. I could probably take three naps a day and sleep 8 hours at night--I'm like an infant!

@.twist.: Love your nursery (and your cat!). Lukas looks so little on the changing pad!!

@Modern Daisy: Can't wait to see pics of your nursery! We completed our registries last weekend--it's such a good feeling to know we have everything we need!

I had my doctor's appointment this morning and my BP is still in the normal range, so that's a relief. I have to do a 24-hour urine catch, though, because she is still worried about pre-eclampsia due to how bad the swelling is. This basically means I have to collect my urine for 24 hours starting tomorrow morning and pour it into this jug and keep it refrigerated. I am so glad she took me out of work--I can't imagine having to collect my urine at work and store the jug in our break room! I'll turn in the jug on Wednesday morning and get the results at my 38w appointment on Friday.

Just finished vacuuming both the floor and the ceiling in the nursery (I know...its insane...but SO satisfying!), and figured its probably time for some pictures! And I'm really sorry if they turn out huge.
