@Alivoo01: Sorry! I totally knew you were the 14th too. Don't know where my brain was yesterday!

@lawbee11: Haha somedays I'm like "omg less than 6 months until my due date that's going to fly by!!" And then other days I think "ugh 6 more months....can we speed up time..." I'm trying to enjoy pregnancy right now though. Really looking forward to finding out the gender in 2 weeks! And it's fun watching my little bump grow and dressing it up. I have to go shopping for maternity clothes soon...or at least maternity pants.

@Alivoo01: Why is Ceaser salad a no-no?
Oooohhh, only 6 months to go? That's wild!!!
GOLD / watermelon / 14076 posts
@Grace: Caesar dressing has raw eggs in it. Makes me sad because I have been craving a chicken caesar salad lately!

@lawbee11: Hmm, didn't think of that. Oh well, probably won't stop me anyways.

@lawbee11: I KNOW!!! ME TOO!!! I totally took a few bites last night. It was part of the dinner being catered so I had to right?

@skipper2010: 2 weeks! So exciting! I have a little less than 4 weeks until I find out which seems SO far away!!! I also went to buy a bella band and the only store I know that has them near my house was closed until 12 (it was 11:40am and I didn't want to wait 20 mins!) That is the second time I've gone there and they've been closed. We live in a huge city where things open at 9am so it was super frustrating!

@lawbee11: hmmm...I have definitely been eating ceasar salad...whoops!
I emailed three daycares yesterday and heard back from two so far. I think DH and I will start visiting them in the next 2 weeks (after our NT Scan results). I was super thrilled that I could get right in for all of them so far! Also emailed the photographer about a newborn session. He fee is $200 - waiting to see if that includes the rights to the pictures. Fingers crossed I can start knocking things out soon after we learn that all is well Friday!

@OrganicSass: Welcome!! Will you be finding out if it's boy/girl or are you Team Grilled Cheese?!

Thank you!! Originally we agreed to team Grilled Cheese but... I am not the most patient person so I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to find out! lol

First day of my second tri today! To celebrate I went out and bought a pack of unisex onesies, a fitted sheet for the crib, and a sleep sack that you can choose to swaddle or not. All in our brown/tan/light green/teal colors. I am really hoping to find out we can add some pink to this color palate soon!
We are debating doing an early gender scan at 17 weeks or waiting until the so long away 20.

@lawbee11: Only super fancy places make it with raw egg. And not even all ceasars have it! My dad makes some homemade ceasar dressing I go nuts for... even if it does have real anchovies (blugh) but I have stopped eating his dressing because of those for the time being. Otherwise, give me my damn ceasar! lol. It is my favorite salad by a LONG shot!

Good morning! And I say this purposely because I got to go home early today and I just woke up from a 2-hour nap. Are you jealous yet?
@OrganicSass: Welcome! Did you find out with your son as well or were you Team Grilled Cheese back then?
@lawbee11: @Alivoo01: I have also been eating ceasar salad. Oops I think the one I really have tried to give up with raw eggs is alfredo sauce-type pastas. Shame. I will have a big old bowl after baby is born!
Crazy that there are only 6 months left for some of you! I won't hit that milestone for another 6 days

Anyone else noticing a trend in their eating desires? I have been all about calcium/dairy (just scarfed some cottage cheese) and natural sweets (fruits, starchy veggies)...I'm kinda impressed that this bambino is so healthy minded!
pineapple / 12802 posts
@Mrs D: Oh I WISH this little baby was healthy minded! I definitely notice I eat a lot more dairy. I drink milk like it's going out of style. However, I haven't had much appetite for anything but carbs. Still. I'm kind of wondering if that's just me or the baby! LOL. I really need to get some more fruit into me somehow.

@OrganicSass: congrats! i'm also pregnant with #2 :o) do you have a boy or girl?
apple seed / 4 posts
@MSMAY Yes, we found out that we were having a boy. He's 5 now, my how time flies.
@Mrs. D I've been eating a LOT of dairy, as well.
@Sarabear, Congratulations!! I have a boy, what about you? Will you find out the sex of this baby?
grapefruit / 4823 posts
@OrganicSass: i also have a son! he's 9 1/2 months old(!!!). yours? and we are definitely finding out....i'm so not patient either. it's killing me that i have to wait until march 25th to find out...ugh.
grapefruit / 4823 posts
@Mrs D: when i'm preggers i drink a TON of milk. i go through a gallon of milk, by myself in 5-7 days. this time it started way earlier than last time(about week 17 last time, about week 8 this time)
grapefruit / 4187 posts
@OrganicSass: Welcome!
@Mrs D: I think I am finally adjusting to my pregnancy diet. It was really hard for me to give up alcohol, so for a while I was compensating with sweets even though I wasn't really craving them. That finally ended about a week ago and now I just want all kinds of things, mainly fruits and veggies which is good.
grapefruit / 4545 posts
@Modern Daisy: I had the same thing happen to me, I noticed my first 4 weeks or so of knowing (so weeks 4-8) I was eating much more sweets to compensate for the glasses of wine my body was missing!
@.twist.: I am craving carbs too - but that is my downfall with weight gain. I am trying to limit it as best I can and fill up through fruits and veggies when possible. I cave in often!
@OrganicSass: @sarbear: so weird, I wonder what the milk obsession is. BTW if you haven't tried it already the Horizon's chocolate milk is PHENOMENAL!!!!!!
kiwi / 597 posts
@.twist.: Sorry you had such a hard time finding a bella band! It shouldn't be such a fiasco! lol Hope you get your hands on one soon!
GOLD / watermelon / 14076 posts
@Mrs Hedgehog: I went to the Kraft website and looked at the ingredients for their classic caesar dressing, and it lists egg yolks as an ingredient. I think chances of anything bad actually happening after eating it are very slim, though (as with most of the foods on the no-no lists).
pear / 1812 posts
@lawbee11: I have a very hard time believing they are raw. Even my OB said not to worry about it. Companies take every precaution you can imagine to avoid any possible salmonella poisoning.

I am suddenly craving sweets! Last night I was bad and had a banana split for dinner and tonight all I want are fancy cupcakes! This whole pregnancy I haven't wanted any sweets at all until suddenly these past few days, I swear I am sugar deficient! lol
pineapple / 12802 posts
@Mrs Hedgehog: I have not wanted any sweets at all either!
@skipper2010: It's a petty thing to rant about but I think their store should open at a reasonable time for me. hahaha jk.
GOLD / watermelon / 14076 posts
@Mrs Hedgehog: That sounds right. I did a quick search in Google and found this on the APA's website:
"Raw Eggs: Raw eggs or any foods that contain raw eggs should be avoided because of the potential exposure to salmonella. Some homemade Caesar dressings, mayonnaise, homemade ice cream or custards, and Hollandaise sauces may be made with raw eggs.
If the recipe is cooked at some point, this will reduce the exposure to salmonella. Commercially manufactured ice cream, dressings, and eggnog are made with pasteurized eggs and do not increase the risk of salmonella. Restaurants should be using pasteurized eggs in any recipe that is made with raw eggs, such as Hollandaise sauce or dressings."
So I guess unless it says otherwise on the menu then it's fine? I have noticed some menus at restaurants say theirs contains raw eggs and some don't. Now I really want a caesar salad!!
pear / 1812 posts
@lawbee11: Go for it! Just avoid the ones with raw eggs. (which is really easy to do) lol
pear / 1812 posts
@.twist.: lol. I said that and now I have a ball of cookie dough in my hand. I am terrible! Mmmm (No raw eggs, since we were just talking about that. lol)

Is anyone else experiencing major bloat and/or stomach aches after eating dinner? I've had this happen every night for the past week and a half, then I wake up with cramps in the morning. I thought the bloat went away before the second tri! I'm 15 weeks now
grapefruit / 4545 posts
@StbHisMrs: I am just generally bloated - and I have noticed that I definitely have less room in my tummy for food these days...so I am trying to eat more smaller meals!
Side note - I may have found my baby bag today, the coach baby bag op art tote in putty/silver http://www.coach.com/online/handbags/Product-baby_bag_op_art_tote-10551-10051-16981-en#94201
I think its nice and classic and could last for a few babies! I was inspired when I saw my SIL diaper bag (she got a real classic coach tote) and realized that I think thats the direction I want to go. Also, I dont think DH would mind terribly if he had to carry this around occasionally.
