@Ocean girl: So sorry to hear about your sister. That must be really hard for her. I think you're handling it very well, though. That's exciting that you'll be finding out if it's a hot dog or hamburger! I have mad respect for those on team grilled cheese...I could never do it!

@redsmarties: Awww Kennedy is such a cutie!

@.twist.: Ugh I want to know your boy name!!!

@StrawberryBee: We registered for the Lindsey wheat color. They're all gorgeous, though! I called our hospital a few days ago to sign up for all of our classes, and they only have their schedule updated through June (I want to schedule them in July because we have a super busy June). So I have to call back in a few weeks.

@lawbee11: Thanks! originally she thought I said our due date was August 23rd, so she was scheduling our hospital tour for July 20th 0_o. I asked her if I was okay to be walking the hospital a week before my due date (the 3rd), and she signed me up for the June 1st/2nd class instead. There's unfortunately a big gap in classes because of July 4th (US Independence Day holiday) and her vacation plans.

@lawbee11: hahaha ok. There's really no reason in keeping it from you gals. So I will tell. Also, let us know how your appointment goes!

Ok, so I'd really like advice on our boy name. The first name is pretty solid. It's the only name that DH and I can agree on and it's one that we both LOOOOVE. We're just having some questioning thoughts about the middle name. I'd love some opinions on whether or not this name flows nicely please!

Lukas Reilly and our last name starts with a C and ends with a Y.

We've chosen Reilly because it's my maiden name (O'Reilly) and I would love to pass it on. I think Lukas Reilly sounds nice but I'm not sure how Reilly sounds with a last name ending in Y. Is that too many y's? My mom thinks it sounds nice and said my dad would just be so touched that we used Reilly. I just want to make sure it sounds good.

I'm so jealous of you guys who get to discuss names - DH refuses to discuss it until we know which gender to discuss!

@.twist.: I like Lukas Reilly - and I think the y's are ok. If they both ended in "ly"s it may be too much but I think its fine!

@.twist.: Looking at your last name on FB, I think it sounds great together! If it had been rhyme-y (like Lukas Reilly Kreilly) then it would have seemed odd. Love it, go for it!

@.twist.: Mine also feel like they are falling down all day. There are belt loops though, I wonder if a belt would work?

I think your name is awesome, and I agree, so long as it doesn't rhyme, you're golden.

@StrawberryBee: Glad you had a great appt!

Just to add to the annoying names that our DHs come up with: mine has suggested Teebor and Filbert. Really?

@andrea86: We're struggling to compile a list of boy names also. Hubby has some he likes and is already testing them out, but we haven't agreed on one yet. Our list is so small, and they were all hubby's suggestions. Boy names are so hard!

@ocean girl: We're 100% set on a girl name also. haha!

@Ocean girl: @Grace: I'm also so over the snow. We've gotten an additional foot in the last day or so, with 4-8 more inches to come today and tomorrow. Our high today is in the low 20s (Fahrenheit). Ugh...I feel that we are being punished because it was so warm last March. Last year we started the month with 28 inches of snow overnight and then 80 degrees the next week!

And I also fell on my butt in the snow yesterday. Luckily, I basically just sat down on a snow bank so it wasn't too far to fall!

My hubby is not helpful with names either. He doesn't like any o the ones I like, and his only suggestion for a boy name is James Robert, which is nice, but then he said that his dad would call him Jim Bob. So I took that off the table then and there. Since then all he suggests is stuff we're never going to pick like George.

@Mrs D: haha! I don't mind being a bad influence if it's for shopping purposes!!!

    @JamieLee: Thanks!!

How is everyone doing symptom wise? How are ya'll feeling??

I've been having some crazy heart burn and wild dreams. I also swear I can feel my stomach expanding. I've noticed quite a bit of pressure on my lower abdomen/bladder. I think (at least from the last u/s) that this little guy likes to put his head right down into my cervix and press on my bladder. So, in turn, I have to pee a whole lot more than I ever used to which is so fricken annoying!

  27. .twist.

    pineapple / 12802 posts

OK, and because I'm bored here's a questionnaire!

    1. Having any pregnancy symptoms? Heart burn, wild dreams, bladder pressure/peeing more often.

    2. Belly button in or out? It is almost totally flat! Not quite an outie yet but definitely not really an innie any more.

    3. What do you miss? A glass of wine would be really nice and soft serve!

    4. Favourite item you've purchased so far? A little onesie with a monster face on it!

    5. Any prediction on baby being early, on time or late? I have had the craziest feelings that he will be early.

    6. What is the little ones nickname from you/DH? I call him my little monster but DH doesn't really have one for him yet.

  28. Grace

@JamieLee: Heehee, my BIL is James Robert, so we have teased him by calling him Jim Bob.

Going to come back for the questionaire when I have a few more minutes...

  29. JamieLee

    clementine / 930 posts

@Grace: my BIL is Robert James and his dad calls him Jim Bob. My dad is also Jim (James).

@JamieLee: Oh my!! Good thing the snow was nice and soft to break your fall. So scary!!

    1. Having any pregnancy symptoms? Not really, but my appetite is much smaller than it was during the 1st trimester so if I eat too fast or eat too much, I feel extremely nauseous. Every once in awhile, I feel like my boobs are "throbbing", not in a painful way, but maybe more growth?

    2. Belly button in or out? Still in, but it's definitely more shallow than before!

    3. What do you miss? Eating the "forbidden" food guilt free. I eat it all, but in moderation, but then feel totally guilty afterwards.

    4. Favourite item you've purchased so far? The baby clothes we got on sale at Carter's!

    5. Any prediction on baby being early, on time or late? No idea!

    6. What is the little ones nickname from you/DH? I call him "the baby". Hubby calls him baby boy or one of the names he likes from the list.

My stuffy nose has been in full force lately. I wake up at least once a night because I can't breathe and at work people must think I'm nutz because I have such loud labored breathing. I also get more tired than normal still and if I eat the wrong thing the gas is just brutal! Never happened to me pre-pregnancy.

Both DH and I have had dreams that we are having a girl. Mine might have been because he told me about his though. But lately all of DH's dreams have been very vivid and have come true shortly afterwards. Weird!

I have still not purchased any baby items! We are going to Buy Buy Baby this weekend to test out strollers though, so I predict we'll leave with a little something.

I call LO my bear cub as I mentioned previously

  32. Grace

    cantaloupe / 6730 posts

    1. Having any pregnancy symptoms? They are so mild now. I love it! I'm getting a little constipated, breasts have started to hurt again and I get physically tired more easily. But all that is nothing compared to the 1st trimester nausea/fatigue!
    2. Belly button in or out? In. Doesn't look any different.
    3. What do you miss? Stamina. It's truly amazing how tired I got from cleaning out the baby's room.
    4. Favourite item you've purchased so far? This little yellow onesie with a duck on the front. Sooooo cute!
    5. Any prediction on baby being early, on time or late? I say, exactly on time (mainly because I entered Sears' Waiting Game and if I guess the due date right, them we get gift certs equal to the amount that was bought off the registry.
    6. What is the little ones nickname from you/DH? We haven't given a nickname yet. Perhaps because it still doesn't seem quite real. Maybe it will change once we start to feel kicks.

I have a question, do people in your lives seem to be super opinionated on whether or not you find out the sex? I know a lot of you have found out and announced already, but I guess before you found out - did people express strong opinions on what is 'better' and what you 'should' do?

I'm starting to get annoyed by all of the opinions! I find that the people who waited until the birth of their own children almost cross the line with being outspoken on what we should do. And the people who found out immediately start listing the 'pro's' of finding out early - like we hadn't thought about them.

Because of this I've found myself being really secretive and vague about what our plans are. We are most likely finding out during the anatomy scan in a couple weeks, but we won't announce the sex until our first shower. So until the shower I think we're actually going to pretend like we don't know and aren't finding out - only because people are SO CRAZY about this topic!!

  34. Mrs. Oatmeal

    1. Having any pregnancy symptoms? Eczema, occasional nausea/dry heaving, fatigue, and SI joint problems

    2. Belly button in or out? Still an innie, but getting shallower

    3. What do you miss? Hard cider and most sushi,

    4. Favourite item you've purchased so far? A little dress and cardigan

    5. Any prediction on baby being early, on time or late? Expecting late...but who really knows?

    6. What is the little ones nickname from you/DH? We just call her Kennedy.

  35. Grace

    cantaloupe / 6730 posts

@Modern Daisy: Somewhat. I've had lots of people say "good", when I say I'm not finding out. I'm not sure if that's because they are opinionated or if they are just being supportive of our decision. Only one person has been upset that we aren't finding out and it doesn't bother me, because I'll get to drive her craaaaaaazy (in a nice way).

We just got home from our anatomy scan, and everything looks great! I loved watching the tech measure everything (although I am glad she explained what everything was because half of it I wouldn't have recognized). Baby is still a girl, so I am excited I won't have to return any of her precious pink clothes! (We didn't tell the tech we had an elective u/s because we didn't want to influence her, but the potty shot is clearly a girl.) Heartbeat was 159bpm and baby girl is measuring 2 days ahead (I am 18w5d, baby is measuring 19w).

I lost a pound since my last appointment, and my doctor said I am on the low end for weight gain, so she just wants me to make sure to snack a lot throughout the day. So we're going to have CFA for dinner (she did NOT say to do this, but I have been craving it and need to gain weight anyways)!

Here are some of my favorite shots from the u/s: (1) baby's profile, (2) baby yawning, and (3) baby's leg and foot (DH thinks we've got a soccer player on our hands!)

    1. Having any pregnancy symptoms? I was having tailbone pain but it seems to have gone away for now. I am also peeing a lot more!

    2. Belly button in or out? In, but more shallow for sure.

    3. What do you miss? Sushi, skinny vanilla lattes, and soft serve.I would kill for a hot fudge sundae from McDonald's.

    4. Favourite item you've purchased so far? The sailor dress!

    5. Any prediction on baby being early, on time or late? I don't think she'll be early. I am guessing either on time or late. I actually hope she comes on her EDD because I really like the date 8/16.

    6. What is the little ones nickname from you/DH? DH calls her Fulgencia (he learned this from Modern Family). I call her baby or baby girl (I am not very original).

    1. Having any pregnancy symptoms? Lucky for my most symptoms have FINALLY subsided. Prilosec for the heartburn is Uh. Maze. Ing. Seriously. I still need my Zofran every now and then but really, thats it. Oh, except for the fact that I don't think it is possible to eat enough food. Constantly starving and thirsty.

    2. Belly button in or out? In but it is definitely noticeably shallower.

    3. What do you miss? Alcohol and all the foods I can't eat to avoid gas and heartburn. It really limits me!!!

    4. Favourite item you've purchased so far? Hmm... That is hard... Maybe my glider because I am always on it?

    5. Any prediction on baby being early, on time or late? I have a gut feeling our little August baby wont be here until September. We shall see!

    6. What is the little ones nickname from you/DH? Mostly we still call her The Baby but we have started trying to call her by her name to get used to it. DH calls her his Baby Girl which is super cute.
