@StrawberryBee: Looks gorgeous! I just LOVE white kitchens! I have totally not been feeling like cooking at all - or baking. I usually cook 3-4 nights a week and have been struggling to hit 2. Also - I usually bake two items each weekend (some sort of bread and some sort of sweet) and haven't made anything!!! Poor DH!

@StrawberryBee: Dang, I didn't get a Target gift card...I'm also not reading baby books. I have What to Expect, but I get most of my info on HB or my phone apps. Your countertops look fabulous! I love your backsplash. Sadly, I have to cook all the time. Where we live (a VERY small town), the only take out is pizza and Chinese, and we're really trying to cut back on spending. I've been really craving Chinese though!

@.twist.: @Grace: @Mrs D: @JamieLee: Thank you so much! There are some weeks I don't even really get to the supermarket. I pick up a lot of fruit (because that's what I'm craving) and milk and juice and call it a day. I don't really feel like cooking meat, or really just putting the effort into a meal at all. Yesterday we ate leftover pizza and cereal. Some nights it's been eggs and toast.
@Grace: I'm anterior as well, and I think I just started feeling things at 20 weeks (I'm 21 now). They're so fleeting it's hard for me to even pin down the sensation.
@JamieLee: I have no idea how one gets on the list for the $20 gift card. I'm on their email system and have been signing up for baby stuff left and right, so I keep on hoping something will trigger it! We aren't getting much at Target, mostly the crib. BRU and Amazon will carry the bulk of the registry.

@StrawberryBee: Your kitchen looks amazing!! The granite is beautiful. DH and I are so bad about eating out--it's a miracle if we make a meal at home 2 or 3 days a week.

@JamieLee: I bought the regular boppy at Target when it was on sale for half off. Didn’t realize they came out with a new one. I’ll probably just stick to the regular boppy unless I find it not useful.
@redsmarties: I feel like my baby movements are like muscle twinges too!
@StrawberryBee: LOVE your renovated kitchen!! And we haven’t been cooking at home much lately either. And if we do, it’s always something simple and quick.
@JamieLee: I received a $20 gift card from Target to start a registry (haven’t yet). It was attached to their nursery catalog that they mailed to my house.

Girls I am having irrational fears right now!
Last night I did my first work out since finding out I was pregnant. It wasn't a crazy work out and I didn't work my core but I did work up a sweat and now I'm freaking out that I worked too hard and somehow stressed out the baby! How do you know what's TOO much of a work out and what's a decent work out while pregnant! Part of my hesitation to work out until this point was fear!! haha I feel so silly because so many girls do work out and everything is fine! Please tell me I'm crazy!
grapefruit / 4545 posts
@.twist.: you are definitely slightly crazy! I've read that you should definitely break a sweat but I think you want to be careful to over-exert yourself. I take that to mean I shouldn't be keeled over panting mid workout - which it doesnt sound like you were! It seems they worry most about serious distance runners...
pineapple / 12802 posts
@Mrs D: Thank you! I feel like I was quite short of breath at the beginning for my warm up (5 mins on the eliptical lol, totally pathetic I know!). During the actual work out I was fine, and then I did another 5 minutes on the eliptical and that seemed again, hard. Even though I was on a low setting I still found myself out of breath.
grapefruit / 4545 posts
@.twist.: remember dear - your lungs are cramped in that belly of yours now...so running short of breath quicker would seems reasonable!

@StrawberryBee: I feel the same way! I just don't feel like cooking! I always am hungry, but I don't want to be making it! Glad to hear it's a common thing! We get take-out or buy premade things from the grocery.
I LOVE the paint on your walls!

@lawbee11: @Alivoo01: @greenebee: Thank you! and thank you for confirming that I'm not the only one. There's a part of me that worries that because I didn't feel like eating with my constant morning sickness in the first tri, that I've just gotten into the habit of not wanting to prepare food.
On another note, has anyone seen the "Farmhouse Five" plates on Zulily right now? I want three of them! If only we were set on a name.

Love the owl, pendant flags, and strawberry plates!

@StrawberryBee: I have the exact same attitude as you regarding food. I also think my stomach has shrunk, which somehow ties into the whole not wanting to cook.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@Grace: My appetite/stomach has shrunk significantly also this trimester!

@.twist.: I'm pretty sure it's normal to be more out of breath while pregnant. Not only have you not worked out in a while, but you're carrying a bit more weight and baby is moving all your organs around making it harder to get a deep breath.

@StrawberryBee: I love those plates. I wish I knew what we were having/picked a name. I favorited the brand so when they are on Zulily again I will get a notification.

So...I have a long ass flight tomorrow (DTW - AMS...about 8 hours) - not to mention a connection and then another 2 hour flight after that. I plan to be totally shameless, push my belly out and ask both the world club staff and the gate agent if there is any chance of a free upgrade (business or economy comfort) for a pregnant platinum frequent flier!
Fingers crossed I can make something happen!

Wow if I don't post for one day, there is so much to catch up on!
@JamieLee: I'm sorry about your anxiety. I can relate, but maybe not to the same extent. I've always had anxiety disorder, and had panic attacks when I was younger. Although I can control them now, I still have feelings of anxiety at times. The other night I was feeling really panicky....heart pounding, light headed, tightening throat. I just try to relax (easier said than done) close my eyes and think positive thoughts. It also helps if I get some fresh air. Being pregnant definitely does heighten anxiety and I am sorry you are going through this. Keep your eyes on the prize....you'll have a beautiful baby in a few months! I hope you are feeling better today!
@StrawberryBee: Your kitchen looks great! We used the same backsplash in our laundry room and bathroom. It must feel so good to have a lovely kitchen, Maybe you don't want to cook because you don't want to mess it up! I have similar issues because of not cooking for the first 3 months. It's hard to gather the energy sometimes and I still don't feel like eating that much.
@.twist.: oh man you make me jealous that you are even working out! I just want it to get nice so I feel like going for a walk. I think it would be normal to feel short of breath, I feel out of breath walking up the steps. Just take it easy!
@Mrs D: have a great trip and work that pregnant body! Hope you can get some upgrades!
Are you ladies bringing your DH when you register? My best friend and I were planning on having a girl's day and register together because we are due a few weeks apart. Is that weird? We will be picking out different stuff but we thought it would be more fun just us, and frankly I think the boys will be happy to get out of another registry adventure.
Waiting patiently until Tuesday for my u/s results and feeling more regular movement...no kicks yet though.
clementine / 930 posts
@Mrs D: Good luck with the upgrade! I'll cross my fingers for you.
@delight: My hubby and I went to Target to register. I'm sure he would love it if I didn't take him though!
pineapple / 12802 posts
@JamieLee: Thanks!! I'm so irrational. haha
@delight: haha, honestly, I still wouldn't be working out except that I've noticed over the past 5 months my butt is getting soft and it reeeeeeeally freaks me out. So I need to start up again so I don't get a flat bum!!! haha.

@StrawberryBee: those countertops/your kitchen is general is gorgeous!!! So bright and fresh! I could totally cook up a storm in there!!
Ladies (more specifically, fellow Canucks) a word of warning. Tim Horton's chili WILL make you burp through your entire 2 hr long presentation. FACT!

@Grace: haha probably... But never like this! Baby does NOT like kidney beans!

@StrawberryBee: OMG I love your kitchen! I especially adore the backsplash! As for cooking, I've been slowly getting back into it. During the first trimester I cooked maybeee once a week, if that. I had some meat aversions and for some reason nothing that I cooked myself sounded appealing to me. We ate out a lot and took advantage of plenty of visits to my parents and in-laws.
@.twist.: Don't worry about your workout. You would KNOW if you were over doing it, and you would have slowed down by that point. I get short of breath just from talking real fast nowadays so I wouldn't use that as a guideline. lol
@delight: I'm bringing DH to register, but if I had a bestie due around the same time as me I would love to go with her! A lot of people have told me not to register for everything in one day because that can be overwhelming so you could always bring DH a second time when there isn't as much stuff that you need. I find that with registering starting out is the hardest part.
grapefruit / 4545 posts
@delight: DH came with me for some of the bigger stuff but he totally would have been fine being left home! I would go with my girlfriend if I were you!
Just bought my crib! It was on sale at PB for $100 off and I had a 10% coupon so I figured it was the best it was going to get! Now I just have to wait for another sale for the changing table and chair! Its getting real!!!!!
nectarine / 2530 posts
@JamieLee: ooh, had no idea I could favorite the manufacturer. Thanks, done!
@Mrs D: go for it and good luck!
@delight: thanks! Long live Home Depot tile 12x12's ;). I did most of my registering online, where I could research and read reviews more easily. Dh and I have visited the store to check major items out in person. I think he was most interested in the car seat/stroller options. I can't imagine that he would have been interested in bibs and cutesy things.
@Ocean girl: thanks!! Feel free to come by any time and cook ;D
@skipper2010: thank you! For me chicken still doesn't appeal. I don't eat pork, so that just leaves beef. There's only so much a person can eat!

@Mrs D: awesome!! Which crib? I like the Hayden (which I see is also on sale)

@StrawberryBee: we got the Madison crib in the sunvalley espresso - were also getting the sleigh changing table and wing back rocker when they go on sale or offer double points!

We got our crib this week at Babies R Us. It was on sale for $229, and then the lady busted out a $30 off coupon for us that hadn't gone out in the catalog yet. Yay sales!
@.twist.: Good for you for working out! My midwife this week was like "Why does it say "none" under your "prenatal exercise" column?"
Um.....because I'm lazy and exhausted?? I'm going to go activate our gym memberships this week hopefully, or after Easter, and try to get my butt in gear.
nectarine / 2530 posts
@Mrs D: nice! Did you get the conversion kit too?
@redsmarties: awesome deal!
I'm glad they don't ask me that question...it'd be none every time!

@Ocean girl: Ugh! I feel your pain. Not because of Timmy's but I take Iron sups and they make me burp like CRAZY. So annoying and gross!
@skipper2010: @redsmarties: Thanks ladies! I feel better about it now.
@Mrs D: wow! Awesome deal on the crib!!! I can't wait to get ours. We have no room for it right now since our office still is not cleared out haha

Old Navy has some sales right now and a 25% off your order coupon too! I just got 3 of the ribbed tanks and 2 tees for $35! Just FYI...I was in need bc I have noticed my tops are getting tight!

Hi Ladies! Sorry I am MIA! I am not good about checking in everyday and getting to know all of you as well as I'd like to. I love this group and am happy to be part of it, even if it's not as consistent as the rest of you!
I wanted to vent a little about the fact that I just had to buy a bridesmaid dress for a wedding I will be part of in JULY, when I'm 35 weeks along. I am normally a size 4/6 and the woman ordered a size 16 dress for me. Seriously?!?! Am I a little naive for thinking that's ridiculous? I know she'll alter it if it's too roomy but part of me feels like she went so huge just to make $$ on the alterations! Not to mention, it's not a very pretty dress. Color or otherwise. I'm living the cliche- having to buy a tacky, never wear again bridesmaid dress.
In other news, lots of movement being felt in the "bump" and I'm 18 weeks today. Going to a chiropractor for some SI joint pain. Otherwise feeling great! Hope all of you are well! And will not have to wear ugly dresses this summer!
grapefruit / 4545 posts
@mrs. peep: Sorry about the dress situation. For what its worth...I was a size 8 when I ordered my wedding dress and they made me order an 18...I confirmed with them that alterations are not priced by the amount of fabric altered and they said it is not. So you may be ok...I did have to have my dress completely reconstructed bc it was so large...but it fit beautifully in the end...
Hey thats a fun idea...how about everyone posts a wedding picture (if you're comfortable posting...) - here is mine! I dont think I have posted this one before...DH is the one in the middle with the cream vest!
blogger / honeydew / 7081 posts
@Mrs D: The lady at my shop totally did that to me, too! The sample size, a 12, fit perfectly. Yet when I got the bill (and the dress, later on), it was an 18. I asked her why, and she said that "Not every bride loses weight like she thinks she will". True. But I didn't put on 4 dress sizes in 6 months either!

@.twist.: I totally get where you're coming from re: workouts. When I first started working out after my BFP, I was so worried the entire time. It gets better! I usually work up a sweat, but I am never drenched or anything like that. I think as long as you're not pushing yourself to do stuff you haven't done before then you're fine
@Mrs D: Hope your flight went well!
@delight: My DH came with me to register. He actually enjoyed giving his input and using the scanner thing!
@mrs. peep: I guess it's better that the dress be way too big instead of way too small, but that's a huge difference! Yay for feeling movement--isn't it the best?! I still tear up sometimes when I feel her moving around a lot--damn hormones!
kiwi / 637 posts
@mrs. peep: also standing in a wedding in July (the 20th) but having a dress made so I don't think there will be an exact "size" ordered to make me feel awful! I have to send my measurements in mid-May and I'm worried it will end up too small! Also terrified that my feet will be swollen sausages and my ankles will be cankles by then. I'm also 18 weeks along! We are twins
The dress colour she picked is coral. I'm going to be a big, coral mess of sweaty chiffon.
Honestly, if it weren't my SIL's wedding, I'd might have asked to bow out. Wedding is more than 10 hrs driving away!
clementine / 930 posts
@Mrs D: Here's a couple from my wedding. What a fun idea! The first one is with my family, which I love because my mom is no longer with us. And the second one just shows the gorgeous fall colors that day!
I love your dress! We didn't really get as many fun pictures like that, which I was bummed about. Our photographer was kind of old school...
