@Ocean girl: sounds like a great scan! Congrats on your little burger! I'm kinda being left high and dry on the grilled cheese adventure here.....
@Greenebee: sorry you had a rough day today, it's perfectly normal to break down and cry! I hope tomorrow is better! I have not had a prenatal massage but in June I am going on a scrapbook retreat with my sisters and MIL and I signed up for one there. You will have to let us know how it is!

@greenebee: I have had a prenatal massage, although it was at 15 weeks when I was still barely showing. It was WONDERFUL and I highly recommend them!
I haven't had a major meltdown recently and I'm kind of hoping it stays that way, around 18 - 20 weeks I was kind of a mess. It seems to have passed for now though. Hoping it stays that way for a while. Sorry to hear you're feeling overwhelmed! You should go home and have a relaxing bath!

@greenebee: Oh my gosh, you sound like me today! I'm super tired and have to pee too often and people are being annoying. Waaaahhhhhh. So, yeah - I guess it can strike without warning. As for the prenatal massage, I've had two. Really nice BUT make sure you are super crazy hydrated beforehand and afterwards. I didn't last time and felt nauseous and headachy for 24 hours.

I'm a late joiner. I'm just learning the ropes on the bee!
I'm due August 12, team green (or I guess grilled cheese?) Next appointment on April 5th! I just started showing the last week or two, and suddenly I can't see my toes haha. I LOVE finally looking pregnant! Since the morning sickness has gone away I have felt great, only pregnancy symptom being a little heartburn. I started feeling the babe move around 16 weeks and on Easter my husband felt it for the first time. So fun!
I am so jealous of you ladies who haven't changed bra size or gone up a cup. I've gone from a small 32D to a 34G. I'm terrified of breastfeeding. I've already gained 20 pounds, but I'm pretty sure at least 10 of that is in my bra.
I love reading all the posts from the other August mamas

@Ocean girl: Congrats on your lil hamburger!!!
@greenebee: I haven't had a pre-natal massage, but have been going to chiro twice a week due to lower back pain, and even that is helpful!! Sorry you had a rough day today! I agree with a relaxing bath is in the works for you!!

Hey ladies! I've been swimming in work the past few weeks so I'm sorry I've been absent I do keep reading sporadically, even if I don't have time to post, so I'm still here!!!
I cannot BELIEVE time is going by so quickly! Congrats to all the mamas who have found out about their little hotdogs or hamburgers!!!! I just started looking at newborn clothes to add to the registry last week and that was the first time it was really tough being Team Grilled Cheese!
My next appointments are tomorrow, so I'll try to pop by update you all- I'm taking a half day of work, so I may actually get a spare minute, lol!

@JessKas: welcome! I was hoping you'd come join us over here. We need another grilled cheese! That's awesome your DH has felt baby move. I can feel little kicks on outside now but I don't think he'd be able to feel them.

@delight: Thanks! I could feel the babe move so I pretty much made him sit there with his hand on my belly until he felt it! I can't wait for stronger kicks!

@JessKas: Welcome! Always nice to see another august mama around here!!! I updated our roll call to include you! I started feeling movement around 16 weeks too!
@msmay: Yay! Glad to hear from you and to hear you're doing well. The second tri is seriously flying by!

@greenebee: So I just did that yoga DVD - definitely relaxing!!! To be honest - I think for where I am right now I want a little more of a workout but I think this DVD will be amazing come months 7/8/9 as it is a great stretching and lengthening workout! She is a great leader too!

So was anyone else super nervous for their anatomy scan? I'm excited but really scared too! I don't know how I'm going to make it till 3 tomorrow...ugh!
@JessKas: welcome!
@Ocean girl: congrats on the baby girl!

@JamieLee: I was anxious/excited. So excited to see our little one, and find out what we were having. But anxious, because I was terrified that something would be wrong.
Mine was at 3:30...aren't end of day appointments the worst?
clementine / 930 posts
@redsmarties: they are! If I had my way I would have made it for 8 am but hubby doesn't want to have to go back to work after any of the appointments so they're all afternoon...
I'm just a worrywart and am so concerned that something will be wrong. The likelihood or something being wrong is slim, but I feel like I have bad luck!
pomelo / 5326 posts
@JamieLee: I was nervous for mine too! I hadn't felt the baby move yet though, have you? At any rate, as soon as I saw baby wiggling around on the screen, my worries went away. And by then I was concentrating hard on not peeing myself anyways! I hope all goes well! Oh and I actually liked having my later 4:30 appointment cause any earlier and DH wouldn't have been able to come.

Wow, 52 pages, so I'm obviously late to the party, but for some reason the halfway point of my pregnancy seems like a good time to move on over to a "parenting" site. Some of you may recognize me from WB, maybe...
Not exactly sure what we're supposed to write in the roll call over here, but about me/us:
Due date - August 12
We're currently not finding out the gender, so I'm surmising that's grilled cheese??
I'm currently classified as a high risk pregnancy, so I go in for appointments every week or two. I had my first ultrasound earlier this month and have more planned for weeks 24, 28, and 32 at this point to ensure baby is still growing as expected. It was originally explained as an "atypical immune response" to the baby that was maybe causing some thyroid, kidney and blood pressure issues, but most things looked good on last blood work as discussed earlier this week, so I'm fairly confident that things are turning around, and baby WILL be coming this summer!
Next appt is April 16, and next U/S is booked for April 23.
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
@Sapphiresun: Wah-hooooooooo! Another grilled cheeser! Yea! Welcome! I hope things continue to look better for your pregnancy. It must be sucky to go in for appts so often.
nectarine / 2530 posts
@JessKas: @Sapphiresun: congrats and welcome to the August '13 baby board!
And yes, team grilled cheese = not going to find out gender ahead of time :). We decided that since we were going to have fun summer babies, that we would go for picnic-y/bbq words, so hot dog and hamburger, and grilled cheese evolved from that. Gotta be different!
I made my appointment for our 3D elective ultrasound...woot woot! It's going to be April 27th, so I should be just a hair over 26 weeks at that point.
Also ordered the tissue paper poms for decorating the nursery and a tutu photo prop from Etsy. Now I'm debating whether I want to buy the crib mattress this month. Pretty sure we're getting this:

@Mrs D: Woohoo for anatomy scan!!
@JamieLee: I don’t like going back to work after appts either. Plus, hubby likes to attend my appts and he doesn’t get off till 2pm so my appts are always in the afternoon as well. Doesn’t help the “inflated” weight number since it’s after lunch, but I like having the afternoon off!
@Sapphiresun: Welcome and another due date momma for Aug 12th!! That’s going to be one busy birth day!! So exciting!!!! And yay for better and better dr/appt results!!

Hi ladies. i forgot to check in after my last appointment. last monday was my u/s and it showed baby again a week ahead. so when i had my appointment thursday with my OB, i mentioned it to him and he said that he was going to change my due date to August 7th now. but i'm going to be a scheduled c-section ~1 week before that.
already started shopping for baby girls clothes! since we already have all the gear from DS, it's just clothes/basics shopping for me. and we are putting our house up for sale, so anything nursery is put on hold until we get a new house. so different from last time!
welcome to the new ladies, and hope everyone is feeling great :o)

@JamieLee: I was totally nervous! At that point the little guy had kind of stopped moving around for a couple days prior my appointment so I was SOOOO nervous something was wrong and really anxious to find out the sex. Can't wait to hear if you've got a little guy or little gal!
@Sapphiresun: Hey there due date twin!!!!! Welcome to the other side. I added you to the roll call. Boo to a complicated pregnancy, I'm really glad things seem to be turning around! And yes, grilled cheese is definitely gender neutral!
We are a group of hungry mama's so we torture ourselves by talking about hamburgers, hotdogs and grilled cheese every day. LOL.
@StrawberryBee: haha, I'm often reminded of that discussion and how grilled cheese seemed like a better option than mystery meat! hahaha
@sarbear: Do you want me to change your due date to the 7th or the 1st? I don't mind either way, if it were the 7th we could have due date triplets. But if you KNOW you'll deliver on the 1st (ish) I can definitely put it to that too. You're going to be a busy pregnant lady for the next 4 months! Hopefully you get a great house REALLY quickly so you can get everything for baby in there ASAP!

Gap and Old Navy have coupons right now - Gap is 30% off (GAPHAPPY) and Old Navy is 20% off (ONAPRIL20). I just got 3 shirts, 2 dresses (one I am hoping is work appropriate), 1 pair of khaki's and 1 pair of yoga pants for $120!
nectarine / 2530 posts
@.twist.: yeah, I don't think mystery meat quite conveys the right tone ;).
And arrgggh, just got an email from BRU for a two day sale that has a 'buy the Graco quick connect carseat, get the matching stroller FREE' deal. The bummer is that I don't care for the fabric at all (it's just one particular fabric that's on super-sale), and the stroller is four wheels instead of three. But...free!!
What would you do? It would save like 60% ($160 vs. $260...but I like the fabric I picked out so much more!).
I wish I'd never seen the sale.
pineapple / 12802 posts
@StrawberryBee: haha. Yea! That's a tough situation. However, because I'm picky about what I like vs. cost, I wouldn't get it. Which is probably horrible for my bank account but I am stubborn as a mule.
grapefruit / 4823 posts
@.twist.: you can put it to the 7th, that's fine. i'm not sure yet when he's going to schedule me. thanks :o) and yes, it will be busy the next few months! thankfully though, DS is only going to be 15 months when LO arrives so, his room is all set for a baby and she'll sleep in our room in the PnP

@.twist.: I know, the frugal me is warring with the perfectionist me! I think perfectionist is gonna win.
clementine / 930 posts
@StrawberryBee: I would let the perfectionist win. You're going to be looking at the carseat at least every day for months and if its not the fabric you like, you'll think of that every time!
clementine / 930 posts
I forgot to tell you ladies, I got the Target catalog yesterday with the coupon for a gift card with a new registry. I was not pleased because I started my registry a couple weeks ago. I tried it anyway and she let me have it! I was so happy! Yay for Target!
nectarine / 2530 posts
@JamieLee: @.twist.: Okay, so I did actually order it because I remembered that the car seat comes with a base, which we need another one of anyway. I'm thinking that maybe I can sell the stroller on Craigslist and keep the carseat as an extra (?) or maybe I'll change my mind and just return it all back to the store lol. But I've bought myself more time to think about it at least!
Wish I could sell the carseat as well, but I'm guessing nobody would want it without a base ;).
on the target catalog: I'm so jealous!! I hope one comes in the mail to us soon. Kudos for an awesome deal

@delight: @.twist.: @Grace: @Alivoo01: Thanks for the support ladies! I didn't have time for a bath yesterday, but it is DEFINITELY happening tonight! Also, glad to hear the pre-natal massage is worth it! And thanks, @Grace:, for letting me know about hydrating! I probably would have forgotten to do that!
@Mrs D: Good to know! I think mine shipped today! I'll be trying it this weekend! (I haven't been working out since the first tri, besides walking everyday, so a slower, more relaxing workout will definitely help!) And YAY for your upcoming anatomy scan! So exciting!
@Sapphiresun: and @JessKas: Welcome! And congrats! Hooray for your patience and being team Grilled Cheese!
Ladies, I have been feeling LO kick a lot, but poor DH hasn't been able to feel him. Getting so anxious/excited for that milestone! Is anyone else past 20 weeks and not able to feel kicks externally?
nectarine / 2530 posts
@greenebee: I'm 23 weeks and I'm still not sure if anyone can feel the kicks but me. I tried to put DH's hand on my tummy last night while we were watching tv, but he started drumming his fingers on it instead lol.
pineapple / 12802 posts
@greenebee: I feel like I can feel them externally, however, when I put DH's hand on my belly, even with strong kicks, he says he can't feel them!
cherry / 189 posts
@StrawberryBee: Lol! Aww!
@.twist.: I'm the same! I always think he'll be able to feel but not yet!
