@StbHisMrs: I thought at first maybe I wasn't washing them well enough and it was the pesticides. So then I tried washing them and scrubbing them with soap! That didn't work. SO I started peeling them.... that still didn't work. lol. I gave up. I no longer eat apples or pears or even plums! WAH!

@.twist.: yeah, that's the 30. I think with the US sites, they don't even out the number on that one because its the "Magic" series. This is the one I want:

@StbHisMrs: I get a reaction to mango that's kinda like that (and I love mango :(). Mine are no more chapped than they are normally this time of year. Try some coconut oil?

@.twist.: Oh no I'd die if I had to give up fruit! I can give up apples but not pears!

@StrawberryBee: Good idea I have some that I use to take my makeup off, I'll try that.

Canadian ladies... Have to share an awesome deal I just got at Loblaws (could be Dominion or Superstore, depending on where you live). So, we wanted an inexpensive Pack n Play to have when we go on trips and are staying in hotels or with friends, etc... I saw one today at Loblaws for $57.44 from $114.88. The store also had a tax free event on. So I picked it up and at the check out I asked if I had any PC Points to redeem... Turns out I had over 50,000 (aka $50 worth) so I did that and paid for the balance with toonies and loonies from my change purse!

I feel like I have stolen something!

It's the Graco in Lively Dots print! Nothing fancy but just what we needed!

    pomelo / 5326 posts

@Ocean girl: oh wow I love that pattern. Is it tax free all weekend? Superstore is where we shop so I'll have to check it out. Does it have a bassinet and change table?

Also, don't think I am crazy, but I have over a million PC points right now. My DH and I had a contest to see who could get to a million first (he won!) and now I am waiting to blow all my points on baby! Wahoo! It took 6 years to earn that many.....

  7. Ocean girl

    kiwi / 637 posts

@delight: it doesn't have the bassinet and change table... It's pretty basic...but the reviews were all good and I thought it would be ideal for travel. At the very least I'll park it at my parents' place down east to have when we visit.

Ummm, how have you not spent those points on copious amounts of Joe Fresh?!!!? I am jealous!!!

@JamieLee: Ah yea. I wasn't sure what the difference was between the magic and the one that you linked to. Is there a difference? I think originally the one I wanted was the same as yours but in the yellow and grey circle pattern. My only problem was that I couldn't find it and the one place that had it didn't really seem reliable so I just went with the magic from babies 'r' us.

@StbHisMrs: haha, I know, it's sucks. I hope that's totally not what's happening to you.

@Ocean girl: Oh WOW! I'm going to have to go check it out. I know that the Superstore near us always has great deals and savings and stuff but I HATE shopping there. I get so frustrated every time.

So, one of my husband's clients is this really sweet lady and her husband. She considers DH a son, which is adorable. Anyway, when she heard we were expecting she gave him a $100 dollar gift card to walmart for the baby. So, today I went shopping!!!

So, I also got this super cute onsie type thing from walmart.... and when I got home I noticed something really off about it, can you figure it out?

    @.twist.: dat be no hippo?

  10. JamieLee

    clementine / 930 posts

@.twist.: my friend has the Magic. I think the main differences are nicer fabric, a bigger canopy, and the cold weather boot. Looks like a good haul from WalMart...as for the hippo, is it missing a toenail and the white on the ear?

  11. .twist.

    pineapple / 12802 posts

@JamieLee: oh damn. I would have loved the weather boot thing. Oh well. And no, it's a rhino not a hippo!

  12. delight

    pomelo / 5326 posts

@Ocean girl: oh well I racked up all those points buying Joe Fresh! Half my wardrobe is JF.

@.twist.: that's some good loot you got, how sweet of your DH's client. And wow, I couldn't figure out what was wrong with the shirt until I saw Strawberrybee's response. That's too funny! Glad Jamielee also didn't catch on

  13. JamieLee

    clementine / 930 posts

@.twist.: oh geez! Duh! I saw rhino, I read hippo, and it still didn't add up...pregnancy brain I think! And I meant the Magic that you ordered has those things so you'll get the weather boot! Yay!

@StbHisMrs: I recently read that the lanolin that a lot of mamas use for breastfeeding nipples works as the best dry lip remedy ever. Might be worth checking out!

Ps: for you bfing mamas, target just put up the medela pump in style for $225! Now I can't decide if I should buy it now or wait until I can find out if insurance will cover it (which won't be until July, because of how my insurance renews)

  17. skipper2010

@.twist.: Yes I plan on getting the car seat attachment for the mini. If worse case scenario it doesn't work out well with the Graco Snugride 30 (which it should), I can always buy the snap and go to have as well and just use the mini as a jogging stroller once the baby gets a little bigger. I'm hoping I'll just need the one, but I like to know there's a back up just in case.

  18. delight

    pomelo / 5326 posts

@StrawberryBee: haha I showed DH too, but he couldn't figure it out

Great price on the pump! When can you find out if insurance covers it? I wonder if pumps are returnable cause you could buy it and return it if you found out it wasn't covered. However, I can see pumps being am item that is non-refundable. I think I have the madela swing, a single pump. My SIL gave it to me. It was definitely something I was happy to have as a hand me down.

  19. StrawberryBee

    nectarine / 2530 posts

@delight: I believe that as long as its unopened you can return a breast pump. I'll have to check and see if the 90 day typical target return policy applies to them, because that would carry me through til July.

I know that when getting a bp through insurance you have to go through a medical supplier of their choosing. I heard that the new bp coverage changes took effect for policies that started after August 2012. So most people who are on a calendar year renewal already know if they're covered, but since ours goes July to June I can't find out yet. (I did try, but was told that currently I would only be covered if its deemed medically necessary; ie LO has an allergy to formula or is in the nicu)

    pineapple / 12802 posts

@delight: @StrawberryBee: haha! Ladies it took me a few minutes after I got home to figure it out too but DH totally found it immediately!

@JamieLee: Thanks for pointing that out, I swear baby brain affects me when it shouldn't!

@skipper2010: Smart! I never even entertained the possibility of just buying the snap and go! I'm going to stop stressing about it now because in the event the adaptor doesn't work, that is exactly what I'll do too!

@Ocean girl: thanks again for the PnP tip yesterday! DH went to pick one up today! Unfortunately the tax event was only on yesterday but still a great deal!

Y'all have been super chatty the past few days! I am going to try and catch up.

@JessKas: @Sapphiresun: Congrats and welcome!! You're both only due a few days before me And I give you mad props for being team grilled cheese!

@StrawberryBee: So exciting about your 3D u/s! Our is May 18...I can't wait!!

@greenebee: DH just felt her kick for the first time on Friday night (I was exactly 21 weeks). He also felt her yesterday morning and this morning. He is so excited about finally being able to feel her!

@JamieLee: Congrats on team hotdog! So exciting, and glad everything went well at your appointment!

@Grace: That is so awesome that she is buying you your stroller! We've had ours for awhile and I put a teddy bear in the seat and drive it around the house. I know, kinda nerdy but I can't help it!

@.twist.: Wow, nice haul! You got some great stuff. And that onesie is hilarious!!

Baby girl has been kicking the entire time I've been catching up. I think she likes y'all and wants to say hi!

@delight: awesome!! My parents actually tried to pick one up at their superstore this morning (they're in NS) but the sale wasn't on!

@lawbee11: Baby's kicking like crazy now, too. She's saying hi back lol (or it could be the orange juice I just downed).
@.twist.: I showed hubby the onesie, and he was criticizing the toenails, the legs, the eyes....everything, until he's like "The horn is a little funny. Wait! Hippos don't HAVE horns." So he caught on eventually (and now wants one for our LO).

We registered yesterday (wahoo!) and after some online tweaking, I'm pretty happy with the things we found. If you want to check it out, I think a bunch of you have me on Facebook (and can stalk me that way), or I'll message you the info/number if you like. I've gotta say, picking out breastfeeding supplies/bottles is hecka-stressful!

Put up some awesome wall decals tonight - so happy with how they turned out (don't want to double-post - I put up a picture somewhere else.)
Also thought I would share this photo. My toes have all but disappeared. Luckily, I can bend forward enough to see them ha ha. Can't wait to see what things are going to be like once I REALLY pop!

Whew...busy weekend here! We had my nephews second birthday party Saturday and finished cleaning out the nursery - now that we have the crib it was getting cramped! Got the second coat of paint on the walls in the nursery (and the first coat in the guest bedroom - which I just happened to be painting now also). Feeling accomplished! This week I need to get the closet painted (just to freshen it up)!

Our major to do this week is visiting a second day care - really need to nail that down!!!

@redsmarties: I found the breast pump and accessories stressful too! I thought I had it all figured out and had researched bottles and everything. Then my good friend was like "oh btw if you have a madela pump and born free bottles you have to pump into the madela bottles then dump them into the born free - so twice the bottles to wash at night" WTF! All my research for nothing - now I just have madela bottles! Which pump did you go with?

Hey ladies! I saw we had a couple of newer additions, so welcome! And again, congrats to all the mamas who have found out if baby's a hotdog or hamburger!

Appointment and ultrasound went well on Friday, and we are still TEAM GREEN! It was so hard to look away at all of the right times, but we stayed strong The one thing that made me a little sad was that we didn't get to have many of the pictures b/c so many of them had baby's hotdog or hamburger Still, we got a few cute ones of baby's face!!! Still due August 25th!

And, I'm never going to be able to catch up on everyone, but here's for the last page, lol.

@.twist.: I'm jealous of your haul! I've been put on a spending freeze by order of my mother, lol. We've only bought the B-Agile travel system and the crib. Apparently we're not allowed to buy anything else until after the shower, so not cute clothes for me I LOVE your rhino/hippo, lol!!!!

@StrawberryBee: That's a really good price for the medela! I'm another one stuck on trying to figure out exactly what my insurance will/won't cover, but now I'm tempted...

@redsmarties: eeeeek! look at your belly!!

@Mrs D: you did accomplish a lot! It sounds like it's coming along nicely, can't wait to see more pictures!

Lots going on which is awesome!! Now to see if I can catch up… haha!

@JamieLee: Congrats on being team hot dog!!

@.twist.: We purchased the Chicco KeyFit 30 also!! But in a different color. It’s just sitting in the box in our garage, but makes me giggle when I see it. Buying anything online is just so much more convenient then going to the store, lugging it out, putting it in the car, then unloading!
That’s so sweet of your hubby’s client! Yay for generous people! As for that onesie – oh my! Hahaha!

@Grace: That’s awesome!!! Yay for awesome grandparents!!!

@StrawberryBee: I saw that in the Target ad yesterday. Since my insurance only covers a single manual pump, I’m debating if I should buy it now or wait and see if someone will pick up off my registry…

    @lawbee11: LOL!! Hi Baby LawBee!!!

@redsmarties: Which bottles did you register for? I have no idea which ones to get because there’s so many options!

  29. StrawberryBee

    nectarine / 2530 posts

@msmay: awww, lookit your little grilled cheese!

@msmay: @Alivoo01: Remember, you have three months to return if you want to (as long as you don't break the seal on the box). At least, that's what my receipt said. Plus I think I get an extra month, because I signed up for a Target debit card to put the purchase on (got 5% off, which basically negates sales tax here in PA).

@Mrs D: looks like they USED to make adapters for the born free bottles, but they're not available any more. You could always pump directly into the freezable bags (if you're planning on freezing...I haven't decided quite how this is going to work yet!). I'm using the Playtex Ventaire wide bottles.

@redsmarties: my boss just told me that I definitely look like I've popped now :). I'll reply to your other thread too, but how perfect are those decals! Such a pretty bedding combo!

I think I'm going to do this decal over the crib. My DSD (Dear Step Daughter...I make up my own stuff ;)) loves Harry Potter, so I think she'll get a kick out of it:

@StrawberryBee: I love that quote - and its nice that it has a connection to DSD too!

So, crazy or not ladies...I'm due 8/28 (however, my mom and sister both went 10 and 14 days early with their first LO) and I really want to go see Kid Rock on Aug 9/10 or 11. Thoughts? I mean I know I wont be super comfortable but I have been wanting to see him in concert forever!!! Its only $20...so worst case I have to bail on the tix its not outrageous!

    wonderful olive / 19353 posts

@Mrs D: Tickets aren't expensive and if you think you'll be okay/comfortable going, I say go for it! I wanted to go see Beyonce on July 6th (I'm due Aug 9), but her tickets were sold out during the pre-sale! Boo!

@StrawberryBee: if I could have a Harry Potter themed nursery, you bet it would be happening. I love that quote. @msmay: so exciting that you saw your little one- it's too bad about only getting a few pics though. Good for you for staying strong!

@redsmarties: haha!!! You tell him they're at walmart. Look at your belly!!! So cute with the toes just peakin' out!

@Mrs D: yay for wall painting!!! We still have to do this, jealous you're so organized!

@msmay: You have strong will power! Yay for team grilled cheese!!! Look at that cute little face! haha I'm sure if my mom KNEW I was spending money on stuff she'd try to put a stop to it. I just can't help myself. It's SO cute!!!! (and it was a gift so really, wouldn't it be RUDE if I didn't use it??)

@lawbee11: hey baby lawbee!!! This little guys been busy too, last night DH felt him for the first time!

@Alivoo01: You haven't taken it out of the box yet? haha How can you contain yourself? As soon as I get that thing home I'll be tearing it out of there! I have no self control. /shame

@StrawberryBee: I LOVE HP. I'm actually re-reading the books to my stepson right now and he's loving them too. Not sure who's loving it more though, me or him. haha LOVE the decal.

@Mrs D: That's not a crazy amount for concert tickets. KISS is here in July and I want to see them SO incredibly bad. The only thing stopping me is their $675 price tag. ouch... :'( I think you should try to go!!!!

Just got back from my DR appointment and everything looks good. Apparently I have an anterior placenta, which surprised me because I've been feeling movement for a LONG time. *shrugs*

    @msmay: Hi Baby May!

@Mrs D: I say go for it. Friends of mine went to a Coldplay concert 3 days before het C-section and she was fine. Worst case scenario is like you said. If you feel bad, don't use the tickets!

You guys seemed to all have pretty productive weekends! Isn't it nice to be getting things done? We finished painting the nursery this weekend (except for the trim which should be easy). Do you remember my grand plan of stripes on the peaked roof? Um...yeah. If you want a fast trip to insanityville, try painting straight lines on the ceiling of a 65 year old (apparently) crooked house. So after hours of trying, we nixed the project. Now, we just have one focal wall with the darker green. Looks pretty good! And we registered at BRU yesterday. THAT was overwhelming.

@Alivoo01: for bottles, I'm registering for a one or two bottles from a few different brands, that way I can try them and see which baby boy likes. I also got a sample of the Avent Natural and Tommee Tippee to try those.

I went shopping for maternity clothes today! I got six tops, a pair of jeans, a pair of denim capris, a maxi skirt, maxi dress, and three knee length dresses. Oh, and a white tank. I plan to still get a grey and and a black tank, a couple pairs of yoga pants, and a bathing suit and then I think I will be all set for summer!

I also couldn't resist picking up some stuff for baby boy!
