@Mrs D: I don't think the B-Agile has an adjustable handle? We didn't have a salesperson helping us, but I was looking for that option and just ran the specs now and it says it doesn't. Wow, you sound ahead of the game with the nursery. I STILL only have two onesies in my possession. Should probably get on the shopping sooner than later...
@.twist.: Ooh, that's a nice one. We were looking at that as well, but hard to justify the extra cost for such a similar stroller. But maybe the option to adjust might be just the justification we need.
@chanzi: @Grace: Nice to see some others that have pretty much decided on this combo. Curious what price you guys think is a "good" sale on it? It's almost $100 more expensive in Canada than the US, so I'm pretty sure we'll order from Amazon or somewhere.

@skipper2010: Mine is this Thursday. My pee stick turned BRIGHT green indicating a +3 glucose at my last appointment, so they wanted it done this week, but here I think 25 weeks is normal anyway. And yeah, 2 hour test here.
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
@Sapphiresun: I'm in Canada too and so far, it hasn't gone on sale at all. So if I found even 20% off, I'd jump on it. I figure if it doesn't go on sale before August, then I'll just pay full price.

@Alivoo01: @skipper2010: Ya I definitely had two cookies Monday - whoops and Tiramisu last night at dinner. Seriously, not ok. I too will desperately need to kick the sweets habit post baby!
@chanzi: That was my problem, I had literally just given away all of my bigger pants to my sister. And she clearly did not offer any of them back when I told her I was preggo. wtf?
@.twist.: See...I have to be on top of the nursery because of what is looming around the corner...no not the baby...golf season. DH is basically MIA Saturday and Sunday mornings the minute the weather turns. Since I am most motivated first thing in the morning it makes it hard for us to get joint projects done in the summer. We actually had to plan our childbirth classes around his summer league.
Funny story...I am due (allegedly) 8/28, DH is an avid golfer and has the biggest tournament of the season on 8/24 & 8/25. I had a conversation with him and told him absolutely to plan to play in them (just to have a back up plan to leave on a minutes notice if need be) - he was shocked. But seriously, I dont want him just sitting around sulking and staring at his "about to pop" wife those two days. Also - what are the odds I will literally go into labor to the point that he needs to leave the tournament? My mom and dad have already agreed to split baby watch duties those two days so I have someone there just in case. My BFF gave me tons of crap for letting him play in them - but seriously what would be the point of nixing it this early?
grapefruit / 4545 posts
@Sapphiresun: I honestly cant remember if the B Agile did or if it was another one we looked at that did? Either way, we were sold on it because of its ease of use, how simply the folding function is and the fact that it was 16lbs total. Plus I am kind of obsessed with the Britax car seats - so I knew this was a good fit since the Bsafe snaps right into it and into the B nimble umbrella stroller we registered for.

@skipper2010: My glucose screening is on May 9th. I was told to consume the drink 30 minutes before my appointment, and to drink it all within 5 minutes. Then go to my appointment and proceed as usual, then do the blood draw at the end so no long wait! Yay!
@Mrs D: You're so sweet about being laid back on his golf tournament. Does your family have a history of early labor? At least you warned him that just in case, he will need to leave so he can't complain!
grapefruit / 4545 posts
@Alivoo01: Yes, we do have a history of early labor, especially with the first. My doctor has my official due date as Sept 3rd - which if ridiculous because I know I got preggo on Dec 7th (dont ask ;)) - this would have my due date as Aug 29th. My sister had her first child (and only) 2 weeks early and my Mom was 10 days early with her first. I know this doesn't mean I will definitely go early - but I think it does increase my chances somewhat! I have a wedding Aug 17th - and I'd really like to make it to that, however after that I am totally ok with going into labor!
nectarine / 2220 posts
@Mrs D: I think that's fair that you're "letting" him play. That's our rule around due date as well. Do whatever you want, just be prepared to drop everything.
@Alivoo01: Why the heck is your guys' glucose tolerance test so much easier than mine?? I have to fast from 10 pm tonight, show up at 8am, take blood, drink the drink then sit there for two hours and take blood again! No fair.
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
@Sapphiresun: Yikers! That sounds like a very annoying test. I hope mine is bigger.
Have any of you had any braxton hicks contractions yet? There is something weird going on in my belly. Or maybe it's gas...
cherry / 189 posts
@Mrs D: Thank you. It made me very proud as well!
Just got out of my doctor's appointment; everything is great so far, but we've moved my due date up a week! (From August 18 to August 12). I was told that he was measuring a week ahead at my last ultrasound (anatomy scan) so I asked my doctor if she thought the due date should be moved. She checked into it, and apparently the "high end" ultrascan done at 20 weeks, 13 and 7 gave the August 12th due date - but because that was done off site, the note was missed by my primary doctor!
Crazy! But I am happy and hoping he will come in the new due date week!
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@Sapphiresun: That sucks!! Sorry girl!
@Grace: No braxton hicks contractions yet. Baby boy still isn't very consistent with his kicks/punches.
@greenebee: a whole week?! wow! August 12th is going to be one hopping birth day if the 4 of us give birth on our EDD!!
Hubby and I FINALLY started our registry last night. We registered for about 52 items in an hour? I'm sure we missed something so we'll have to review it soon.

@greenebee: Yay! Due date twins now! Although at my last appointment the Dr said I was measuring 26 weeks (when I was actually 23.5) so I may be in the same boat once the newest US results comes back.
@Alivoo01: Yep, it did suck. 3 blood draws over 2 hours and nasty glucose drink. My stomach currently feels about as good as you'd think it would if ate a cup of white sugar for breakfast.

@Mrs D: I think it's totally cool your DH is still going to be in the tournie but I'm an avid golfer In all seriousness I agree with you. You can't expect him to just sit there and watch you if you haven't gone into labour by then. Just make sure you can get a hold of him on the course!
@Grace: I felt some weird tightening in my tummy yesterday and almost a crampy feeling. I think it was likely BH which is fine. Just means the good old uterus is preparing! I read today on what to expect that our uterus is the size of a soccer ball now. Yikes!
@.twist.: my next appointment is May 28.
I finally got an OB! I'll be almost 29 weeks when I see her but that's ok. I got the OB I wanted that my girlfriends all recommended so I'm happy about that!
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
@delight: It true, but it kind of had me freaked out. It's not happening today, so I feel better. A soccer ball, you say? Well, that would explain why my belly looks big. Congrats on getting the OB you wanted! After wondering for weeks what happened to my referral, the dr's office finally phoned to say that she's not taking patients delivering in Aug. Sooooo annoying.
kiwi / 597 posts
@Sapphiresun: Oh wow to measuring a few weeks ahead! Do you know when you ovulated? I wonder if they'll move your due date up. That would be awesome!
Ugh went out for Italian with DH tonight and didn't realize until after I ordered that my pasta was topped with fresh ricotta cheese. I know it's probably fine, but I just feel so guilty! Just the thought of doing something that could potentially hurt my baby no matter how low the risk makes me so sad! Oh well what's done is done I guess.

I had my 24 week check-up today, and my OB wants to see me every 2 weeks from now on. He didn't like the contractions I had that were noted on the u/s last time, and then I told them they've been increasing in pain.
I wish they were just BH, but they hurt and I feel pressure pretty low when I have them. I've been getting BH too, up high and everything is tight.
I go back on May 9th, then the next appt. 2 weeks later I'll take my glucose test. It's pretty easy here, and it tastes like flat sprite. I take it 45 minutes prior to my appt., it needs to be finished within 10 minutes and my blood is to be drawn exactly one hour after I've finished. I'm only to drink water after drinking it.
After my sugar craving/caving episode the past 2 weeks, I put on 7lbs. Lovely!

had my ultrasound yesterday, baby is still a girl! woot! lol everything looks good with her. she is breech still, but i don't think they are going to be concerned if she stays breech since i'm having a repeat c-section anyways. but boy could i ever tell that she was breech. i can feel so much pressure in my ribs from her head! i told my mom that if they put the wand right up to my right ribs they'd find her head. so when the ultrasound tech said she's breech still, i told her what i said and she put the wand where i said and she was like 'oh yeah, there she is!' fun times. she was still measuring over a week ahead(which i knew she would be), but the weird ultrasound doctor(different from my regular OB) just said i had a really big baby and my doctor would send me back for more ultra sounds....so, after that appointment i literally drove down the street to my OB for my 25 week checkup and he said that 'now and forever, your due date is august 7th and i'm not sending you for more ultrasounds' ha, take that crazy lady! at my next appointment we should confirm my c-section date, we are shooting for 8/1, but not sure yet. i got my script for my glucose test...ugh. it's not that bad and i passed the 1 hour last time, it wasn't even close to failing. but for some reason i just have a bad feeling about this one....
hope all is well with you ladies! my next appointment is May 23rd.

@delight: I'm a pretty big golfer too and so bummed to not be able to play as much this summer! DH has been a grumpy bastard these last two weeks since our weather hasn't turned good enough for him to get out and play!
@skipper2010: FWIW - I cant remember if you are north of the border or not - but I asked my sister about soft cheeses at restaurants (I'm a Feta and Brie whore) and she told me that she would be shocked if a restaurant served non pasteurized cheese in the US. Even if it is homemade - its using pasteurized products so we are good to go! She worked for a food distribution company for a few years so she has the scoop. She did say that lunch meat was a no no no matter what.
@sarbear: glad you had a good appointment!
Nothing new here! Just hanging out and gaining weight I'm sure!
kiwi / 597 posts
@StbHisMrs: Yikes what else are they saying about the contractions? Do they have you on bed rest? I hope you're not in too much pain.
@Mrs D: Thank you! I'm in the US and that makes me feel much better about the cheeses.
pomelo / 5326 posts
@Grace: what a bummer about your OB. Sounds like your doctor's office was maybe a little slow getting that referral out. I hope you end up with one you like!
@skipper2010: I've broken the food rules a few times myself. I really don't worry about the cheese because I'm pretty sure most if not all is pasteurized. I did have soft serve ice cream the other day from Costco. I totally forgot when I was ordering we weren't supposed to eat it it. And once it was in my hand......really no turning back!
@Mrs D: yeah another golfer!! Are you planning on playing? I really want to. The first week of July is our anniversary and we always play at this beautiful course where we got engaged. My DH laughs when I say I'll play and is like "good luck with that. You can barely bend over to pick up the dirt when sweeping. You're not going to be able to pick up a golf ball." Boo! I'm going to hit the range this week and take it from there.
Off to my glucose test! Hope I wasn't supposed to fast because I definitely just ate a huge breakfast!
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
@.twist.: lol, I've been shamfully ignoring the food rules.
@StbHisMrs: That must be scary! But no bedrest yet, so they can't be too worried, I assume?
@sarbear: Sounds so crazy that you are getting a tentative C-section date! Time is flying all of a sudden.
@delight: Good luck! This pic is for you (came off my Pregnant Chicken email this morning).
grapefruit / 4823 posts
@Grace: yes, it sure is!! i was a little surprised when he said 'well, we can start taking about dates for your c-section' i was like OMG! haha even though i just did this, almost a year ago(i still can't believe DS is going to be 1 in less than a week!!! WAAHHH), it's still crazy to think i'm growing a little human and she's going to be here, SOON! ha
grapefruit / 4545 posts
@skipper2010: Ya, I seriously panicked about not being able to eat greek salads. I love me some feta. And we have two local little Italian places we love that make a lot of stuff in house - but she totally calmed my nerves when she told me that! Soft cheese lovers can rejoice!
I have totally broken the no caffeine rule. My doctor told me 1 cup a day was fine - I'd say I have that 4 times a week. So still under the limit my doctor set but I still feel bad!
@delight: DH and I joined a country club two years ago - so last year we played all the time. I am not great (like 30 handicap) but I enjoy it and DH really enjoys spending time with me on the course. I am bummed bc I finally had an awesome set of clubs and now I dont get to use them as much. I think I'll talk him into going to the range this weekend as well and seeing how I can do with my bump - if that goes well maybe we'll go play a few rounds at the club or at another course. The good thing is my dad is totally into golf (he just started playing 3 years ago) so I can always go with him too when DH is playing his tourny's and boys early morning t-times.
Funny story - the other night DH was cleaning his clubs before his round the next day. I look at his bag and notice that the clubs all look different. Now I dont know a ton but I know last year his clubs (hybrids and drivers) all had white heads and now they are all dark. I knew he had bought new irons - but apparently he went out and bought a whole new damn set and thought I just wouldn't notice. This is why we keep separate bank accounts - so I dont have to freak out on him for spending our money on this!!!
pomelo / 5326 posts
@Mrs D: haha that's so funny about your DH. Sounds like something mine would do! I am definitely hoping to get a few rounds in especially in may and June. I think after that it'll be tricky!
So I just drank my delicious glucose drink. I'm thinking I might throw up. The jury is still out. Gotta wait one hour now and then have my blood drawn. I am thinking I probably shouldn't have had Cap'N Crunch, OJ, and French vanilla cappuccino before I came. I also think it's ironic that I brought my new book club book to start and it's The Sugar Queen. Uh oh.....
@Grace: thanks for the laugh!!

@StbHisMrs: hope everything turns out ok with the contractions. At least the more frequent monitoring will catch anything sooner rather than later.
As for me, I spent a little time in the hospital yesterday afternoon. I was noticing (TMI alert) a lot of wetness in my underwear, and was concerned that I was leaking fluid. When I had the ultrasound when I had my m/c before, my fluid was really low, so I was really worried. I called my doctor and they sent me to triage in labor and delivery. It was so scary and I was by myself. They hooked me up to a monitor and baby boy's heart beat was really strong. They checked everything out and it turned out ok, but that was terrifying! I recently started a new job that requires a lot of walking and going up and down stairs so I was worried that I had overdone it and ruptured my membranes.

@skipper2010: well mine was the orange drink like at McDonald's. Too sweet though, and I didn't like the 5 minute time limit. It's funny we are doing it at the exact same time! Good luck with the results!

@Mrs D: AH! That is super smart. Get it all ready before golf season My husband doesn't play many sports, but he is REALLY great at this sport called procrastination. I'm trying reeeeeally hard not to nag him but it's so hard because we still have to PAINT the room!
@Sapphiresun: I think it's a good rule to have. Why make everyone in the house sit in anticipation for the baby to come?? It could be late and you could have had a little fun in there!! I think I will make that an official "rule" too!
@greenebee: It will be hilarious if all 4 of you ladies have your babies on the 12th! And that is SO exciting! Up a whole WEEK! That happened to me quite a bit earlier on, I was originally the 12th and now I'm the 7th.
@Grace: Wow, you'd think they'd be on top of something like that so you could go and find another OB asap. Totally unprofessional.
@StbHisMrs: What a bummer about all your contractions! At least you'll be closely monitored and hopefully you can keep that little baby cookin' till full term!
@sarbear: aaaaah. I can't believe you're already picking c-sec dates! That is insane! Where has the time gone!?
@Grace: haha I just can't help it. I loves what I loves. And you know, it's partially my husbands fault. He (amazingly) makes my lunches for work and he always puts deli meat in them. And sometimes he forces me to eat soft serve ice cream. FORCES ME I TELL YOU. hahaha no jk... but I do try to steal his if he gets it...
@delight: lol! note to self. Do not have high sugar breakfast before glucose test. hahaha
@JamieLee: oh no! that is scary! I've totally noticed way more "leakage" throughout pregnancy. I REALLY hate it. I can't wait until everything down there works normally again. So long to go before that happens though... Glad to hear everything is still a-ok with you!

@Grace: Who knows I guess?? I don't think it's possible that I'm off by that much since I was charting and pretty much know exactly when I ovulated. And 2.5 weeks would put me not only way off that date, but BEFORE my LMP. Could just be a growth spurt lately??
@skipper2010: As much as I'd love to be suddenly three weeks further ahead that I thought, I'm pretty sure it's incorrect (as above). Try not to feel too guilty - lots of ricotta is pasteurized, so it may not even be an official "violation". And if it makes you feel any better I had "real" caesar salad last night
@StbHisMrs: Fingers crossed that all is well!

Ok back from glucose test. Wasn't too bad, nice to sit and relax for an hour. Hoping results are good so I don't have to do the 2 hour one though!
I came home to find a nice surprise waiting at the door. BRU sent me their free stuff in the mail! I emailed them last week to say it was silly I had to register for 100 things In store and still wanted my free swag. Haha! So they mailed it! If anyone is curious of what you get here is a picture. It's a pretty good selection of things...mostly trial sizes, but you get a bottle and soother. Other items are rash and nipple creams, diapers, wipes, breast pads, nose drops and coupons for Thyme maternity and medela pumps.
