@PBandBaseball: Hey Girl! I've been wondering where you'd gone! Everything going well so far?

    @StrawberryBee: Oh no! You ok?

The A/C at work is down. It's 8000 degrees in this building. I thought I was going to die....then I remembered that we have a walk-in cooler. Ahhh, bliss!

@Grace: Hi there! I have still been really sick but it's finally starting to get better. I think that I'm going to end up missing all of the second trimester energy boost that everyone talks about.

I've decided that I'm just going to have to suck it up and get stuff done even when I'd much rather take a nap every night when I get home from work. We have so much that I want to do around the house before she gets here. When is the nesting phase supposed to kick in?

    cantaloupe / 6730 posts

@PBandBaseball: Oh, that sucks! I had a few friends that were sick the whole way through too. Not cool. For what it's worth, I'd say take the nap. All the baby needs is a box to sleep in (that's what a co-worker told me once).

Fingers crossed that you have a super-easy 3rd trimester!

@Mrs D: great idea for sourcing out target stuff. I am close to the border too, but I will keep it in mind just in case!

@StrawberryBee: thanks for the info on the A&A target blankets. My MIL never ended up finding any, so I think I'll just stick to th more expensive boutique ones and know that they are the "real deal".

@PBandBaseball: welcome! Sorry you haven't been feeling well! I hope things are better in the last trimester! I love the name Audrey, it's one of my favs and definitely a strong contender. However, I'm still swaying towards Ava.

Speaking of 3rd trimester, holy crap! We are almost at the 3rd trimester?! When does it start, 28 weeks!? Ahhhhhh so much to do, so little time!

@Grace: I'm fine, thanks! I managed to catch myself before I actually fell. I have weak ankles I think.

I also dumped the litter box when I got home; just couldn't stand it and dh was still at work. It reeked of ammonia and I could smell it when I walked in. Ugh. (Our litter box has a disposable box part, so i just put the lid on and put it in a trash bag)

@PBandBaseball: my sil has morning sickness throughout too :(. Hope you start to feel better!

@delight: I know, I think third tri starts on Friday for me! Crazy!

Hey ladies! I'm about 12 pages behind as I have fallen off again, but I wanted to say hey! I hope everyone is feeling wonderful and looking beautiful I can't believe how fast time is going by- it's becoming a bit surreal! DH and I had our first Bradley class last night- it went great and I can't wait to go again next week
Now I'm going to poke around and try to catch up on what y'all have been talking about (shame, I'm always catching up!)

@PBandBaseball: Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well, I hope it gets better soon!

So I tried to put a dress on this morning that was roomy on me a couple of weeks ago and I couldn't get it past my thighs! I've definitely been putting on weight in my butt hips and thighs just as fast as my belly. My boobs have gone from 34B's to 34DD's and are still sore so I know they're still growing.

But on the upside, I finally joined the prenatal yoga studio this week and it is fabulous so far! Totally packed with other preggo's and the teachers are amazing. I'm getting so much for my money already because they are so knowledgeable not only about prenatal yoga, but some are also doula's and they all have babies themselves so we talk about so many different topics during class. Last night they threw in a partner massage lesson at the end!

@delight: Yup! The 3rd trimester starts at 28 weeks!! Craziness!!

@msmay: How fun!! We have our first baby class (prepared childbirth) next Wednesday! It's 4 hours, then 4 days later, it's Part 2 for 6 hours!!!

    @Modern Daisy: That's awesome!!!

Just got the call that my 1 hour glucose test was in the clear! My number was 123. I think the dr's office thought I was little crazy for continuing to call about it since they told me via voicemail that they would let me know if there were any issues, but I feel better knowing before my next appointment :).

@PBandBaseball: Yay! Glad you joined our group. And welcome to team burger! Sorry you've been so sick, though.

@Modern Daisy: Your prenatal yoga class sounds awesome!!

    @StrawberryBee: Congrats on no GD!

I just got home from my 1-hour GD test. It wasn't bad at all. The drink did taste a lot like the orange drink from McDonald's. At first I actually kinda liked it! But by the end I was definitely ready to be done with it. All in all it was a much better experience than I was expecting.

  12. msmay

    cherry / 163 posts

@Modern Daisy: I think I'm having the same issue with the butt/thighs region! At least your boobs match- I swear, mine have barely changed at all except to get really sensitive. Boo

@Alivoo01: whoa! Those must be intense sessions! I had a coworker who did a similar type of program and she and her partner loved it. Have fun and I hope you learn a lot!

@StrawberryBee: yay for good glucose screening! I am not looking forward to that at my next visit, but there's a huge history of diabetes and gestational diabetes in my family so it's especially important. My drink is supposed to be fruit punch flavored so I'm hoping it's not too bad!
@lawbee11: I actually had to pass on the orange flavor b/c anything that is not the actual orange fruit (flavoring, even orange juice) makes me feel sooooo ill. I hope the fruit punch isn't bad either!

@delight: Three weeks to third trimester. Eek!!! I'm still in a bit of disbelief that there is actually going to be a baby at then end of this.

    @StrawberryBee: Congratulations!!

@msmay: Lol - my boobs haven't changed either. It's odd, how disproportionate they look compared to my belly.

I've got problems...just had a weeping session at the end of Law&Order SVU. It wasn't that sad...

Good morning everyone and hello 3rd trimester!! 28 weeks today!!! Can't wait for you all to join me! Where has the time gone??

@Alivoo01: We have our first childbirth class next Tuesday! At first I was on the fence about signing up for them, but now I'm kind of looking forward to it. I think it will also be good for DH who knows next to nothing about childbirth.

@StrawberryBee: Yay! Glad you passed your glucose test! One more thing down.

@lawbee11: I felt like a weirdo because I kind of liked the taste of my glucose drink too. Glad I'm not the only one! haha I think I was just expecting it to be so much worse that I was pleasantly surprised.

@Grace: Damn pregnancy hormones! I was so moody last night because my kitchen felt cluttered with too many pots, pans, and ingredients while I was cooking dinner. DH couldn't understand what was wrong with me lol

@Modern Daisy: So cool about the yoga. I keep meaning to drop into a class but keep forgetting!

@StrawberryBee: YAY! I have my glucose on sunday, so hopefully everything goes well. There is a birthday party the night before and I'm wondering if I should only have a little cake?? haha

@lawbee11: haha I am so secretly looking forward to the drink because I really like the orange drink! LOL

@msmay: I bet the punch will be good too. Sugary, but good.

@Grace: @skipper2010: Thankfully, it's been a few days since I had a mini meltdown! The hormones are really starting to get to me! I want them to go away!

Has anyone begun to think of maternity leave? I just had a meeting with my HR person to begin the discussion. Is anyone else a little overwhelmed with all the policies?

  18. .twist.

    pineapple / 12802 posts

@greenebee: I'm pretty lucky that my HR girl is kind of amazing. I've known my mat leave schedule for ... a little over a month now?

My last day is July 31 (given I can make it that long!) and my first day back is August 7, 2014. Two weeks of which are my holiday time.

@greenebee: Ugh. Yea, I keep forgetting about Canadian vs. American mat leave. I feel so bad for you gals. Even if you wanted to go back earlier, knowing you COULD have a year is really nice. I guess that helps make things really easy for us Canadians.

@lawbee11: I've been sort of looking forward to the orange drink and am hoping that I'm not disappointed when it doesn't taste like the orange soda of my childhood.

@Modern Daisy: That yoga class sounds awesome. I just ordered a yoga dvd because I have a schedule that is a little wonky for structured gym classes. I know it won't be as good as the class but hopefully it'll help some!

I signed us up for the hospital tour this morning & I'm really excited. I'm taking the final 3 classes for my masters program this summer so that I can student teach in the spring and I wanted to make sure that I didn't forget to sign up for the tour. I think I'm going to have to become a crazy list maker to keep up with classes, work, and baby stuff this summer.

  22. Modern Daisy

    grapefruit / 4187 posts

@PBandBaseball: I think yoga/workout DVD's are great too and can be a total life saver. The big problem with getting to organized yoga classes is that they normally don't start until after 6pm, then they're a full 1.5 hours so it's a huge time commitment. I have a DVD that you can choose a 15, 30, 45 or 75 minute workout and it's awesome. So if I don't end up going enough to this studio, I might cancel my monthly membership and only buy individual classes when I'm actually able to go.

@msmay: I'm sure the fruit punch won't be terrible, either!

@skipper2010: Congrats on making it to the third tri! I'm not there yet, but today is double digits for me--99 days 'til my EDD!

@greenebee: I discussed mat leave when I told them about my pregnancy. I am planning to take 5-ish months off (most of that will be unpaid). I don't know when my last day will be...I am going to try and work as long as possible. I just really hope my water doesn't break at work!

@.twist.: i have the drink in my purse (they gave it to me at my appointment today) and secretly I want to try it! 4 more weeks of it staring me down from the fridge!

@greenebee: When I think about mind I get depressed. My plan is to work up until labor basically to get as much time with LO as possible. I'm taking 6 weeks short term disability (60% pay), 6 extra weeks under FMLA (no pay) which should have me going back right around the Monday of Thanksgiving. I've talked loosely with my boss that I'd like to work from home the first 3 Friday's in December - that would have LO start daycare for a full 5 day week in January.

@.twist.: um SO jealous of your year! however, I'd go insane not being at my job for a year, I have already told them I expect to still be cc'd on emails while on Mat leave!

@lawbee11: I have become an emotional wreck too!

AFM - doctors appointment went well this morning, nothing fun to report. My next appointment is June 6 which is my glucose test! Still waiting for Pottery Barn to deliver the rest of the nursery furniture. Also - we had a contractor come out for an estimate on getting some stuff done in the house before LO arrives! 31. .twist.

@StrawberryBee: 50% of my income is paid by EI for 50 weeks. I happen to be really lucky that I have a company savings that I haven't touched in years and I have enough saved to act as though I'm being paid 100% (so, it makes up for the 50% loss, if that makes sense). I really, really, really, lucked out.

I'm with you on the weight gain everywhere including my arms! I've been doing a few arm excercises every night, and lunges in the morning and night. I need to pull out some DVD's, but I'm so tired at the end of the day!

@Strawberrybee: Yay on passing the GD test!

@Lawbee11: Glad you didn't think it was too awful, I opted for the lemon lime this time so we'll see! How did you feel the rest of the day? I felt like I had a sugar crash afterwards, I wanted to sleep all day..

@Skipper2010: Whoa third tri already?? This is going so fast!

@.Twist.: You are so incredibly lucky to get a year and have the other benefits saved up!

@Greenebee: I work in an office with just my boss, so we talked briefly about it. I think I get a whole 2 weeks, then I come back and bring baby with me (as long as she's not a loud baby!) I did this with M and it worked pretty well until she became mobile!

@Mrs D: Lucky you getting another u/s! Cutie I've got a list of things a mile long that need to get done before August. I don't know if it's going to all happen.

AFM ~ I had my 26 week appointment today, I've still been contracting so I had a cervical check this morning, everything is A ok. I'm still trying to ignore them and hoping they'll stop, but it isn't working. At least they aren't progressing! Other than that nothing exciting, gained 2lbs since my last appt 2 weeks ago.

@StbHisMrs: 2(!!!!!!) weeks?! Oh. em. gee. No ma'am!!

My appointment went well yesterday. The drink wasn't bad at all, but it did burn my throat a bit half way through. It tasted like an orange popsicle stick! DS didn't go as crazy as I thought he would, but he did push down on my cervix for a little while. Not comfy. The appointment was pretty uneventful, but we did discuss some delivery stuff. For instance, I'm deathly afraid of tearing and asked if there's anything I can do to minimize/prevent tearing and she said nope. It's partially genetics, and that's what stitches are for. She was so lax about it. haha! She did say eating more protein does assist in less tearing though. Who knew!!

We also scheduled out more appointments, listened to the baby's hearbeat, and drew blood at the end. I passed - woohoo!! I did have a slight headache/hangover about 90 minutes after I finished the drink though.

DS also was pushing down on my cervix pretty intensely all morning which has been super uncomfortable. To the point where walking was a lil awkward! Hope this isn't of any concern.... =\

Here are my "next" appointments on top of what is already on the list:

    June 19
July 2 (sonogram to check baby's position - can't wait to see DS!). It's also the start of weekly appointments. Oh my!
    July 10

@StbHisMrs: I feel very lucky. 2 weeks is insanity!!!! That's not even enough time to totally heal!

@Alivoo01: Sometimes DS will push down on my cervix too and walking becomes kind of hilarious. I don't think it's anything to worry about except for the possibility that your DS likes to torture you, as mine does me!!

I guess the good thing about fresh out of residency doctors is that they a. are not jaded yet and b. the information they learned in school is all still REALLY fresh in their brains!

Ladies, I think the last couple of days I've felt braxton hicks contractions for the first time! It's totally been freaking me out. I am mostly over the freak out and now just monitoring them to make sure there really is no pattern. They are super weird.
