@lawbee11: I'm pretty tired, but I'm chalking that up to waking up SO many times in the night to roll over/pee/adjust my pillows. I had a few days of nausea this week too - hoping THAT doesn't make a return!
Found out today that my shower is planned for June 22! Its only a month away, which is super exciting. And my parents told me that they would buy our stroller (along with the closet-full of gear/clothes they've already bought) - the B-Agile is almost a hundred dollars cheaper in the US, so they're picking it up in Buffalo!!

@lawbee11: I'll respond to any posts I've missed tomorrow (on my phone right now) but had to say OMG YES! Friday night to Saturday I slept 12 hours. And then I took a nap. And then I slept 10 more! I have to go to work a half hour earlier tomorrow, then drive the half hr home to let the dogs out, then drive an hour thru rush hr traffic to my dss's concert, then an hour back home. And repeat on Tuesday for my dsd's concert. I may cry.
@redsmarties: lol, this describes my nights perfectly! I wake up SO achy. My legs are still killing me from two weeks ago.

@JamieLee: aww, don't be so sure about failing your 3 hour! A lot of people have problems with the 1 hour but do fine on the 3. Try not to borrow too much trouble just yet :).
@lawbee11: speaking of which, good luck on your 3 hour today! Nice that you get another go at the 3D; I'll take all the U/S I can get (speaking of which, my U/S place just came up on LivingSocial. Must...fight...temptation...). LOVE the foot!

@lawbee11: Boo on baby girl being uncooperative, but yay the tech is letting you come back in 3 weeks! She'll be even more developed then so that's exciting.
I'm jealous you know what position she is in also because I'm always curious which way baby boy is in. I even asked the OB and she said there's no way to tell without a sonogram; so I'll be getting one when I'm 35 weeks to check that out.
Also, I have been more tired also! It's part of being in the 3rd trimester. The OB said the 3rd trimester mimicks a lot of traits from the 1st trimester (e.g. morning sickness, fatigue, etc.). Yikes!

We finished our Prepared Childbirth class yesterday, and the chapters over tears and episiotomy totally made me cringe. Apparently, the expression was plastered and frozen on my face the entire time because the hubby was constantly tapping me and telling me relax. Oops!
We also went over several laboring positions and breathing techniques. Breathing techniques was eh, but laboring positions was informative, and the hubby was attentative and helpful so that was good. They also served us delicious food during the course, which was awesome!! haha!
Next course is infant CPR in a few weeks.

@Alivoo01: I can already sometimes tell the position my baby is in. He is definitely breech and likes to curl up on my right side under my navel and I can not only feel his head but I can see it too! That sounds great about your childbirth class - I definitley need to look into taking one. The only thing I've put on our calendar so far is a massage class lol!
This weekend DH and I made a list of things that need to get done before baby arrives and we started/finished about half of them. Storage is our biggest issue so we really strategized about how to add more then went to home goods and bought some of the supplies we'll need. We are still going to replace our media stand with a large dresser which I would have done this weekend if the craigslist person hadn't totally flaked. DH is going to home depot tomorrow to price out new bedroom doors since we currently have really old crappy window doors that are cracked in some places and we also need to secure our heavy furniture to the walls - at least anything that can be knocked over like our TV and bookshelfs.
I also finally measured the bedroom doorways and discovered that our crib will actually fit through which totally changes thins. We thought we would have to wait to assemble it until people were done visiting (overnight guests), but since it will fit through we can set up the crib now if we wanted. Makes me regret not buying it when it was $100 cheaper - why do the prices keep changing, is it a conspiracy??

@lawbee11: I feel pretty exhausted too! I napped both yesterday and the day before and still feel pretty tired today. It was like as soon as third tri started, I was back in the first (except for, so far, the dreaded nausea). Her little foot is ADORABLE! I hope you can see more of her when you go back!
DH and I are taking a one-day (eight hour) birthing class. Which I am really excited about. Our hospital also offered a "Meet the Doctors" forum where you could ask questions and that was very informative. I definitely want to look into a breast-feeding class. Is anyone else nervous about bf?

@lawbee11: I think our boy is going to have big feet too! Lol! That's awesome that you'll get another 3d ultrasound in a few weeks. And good luck on your 3 hour test!
@StrawberryBee: thanks for the vote of confidence...I'm hoping it will turn out okay!
Our ultrasound tech told us that baby is breech now, with his head on my left side and his bum on the right, so he's kind of diagonal.
I finished my first DIY project for the nursery this morning. We bought this hamper from Ikea: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80099224/?preferedui=desktop&cid=us%3Emls%3Ehomepage
I bought some cute canvas-y fabric and made two slip covers that can be removed and washed. It turned out really cute!

@greenebee: our class is also a one day, eight hour thing. We're also taking a one night breastfeeding class and a one night baby care class. I'm really looking forward to all of them!

@Alivoo01: I wish I knew what position my baby is in too. I feel like he's kind of all over the place! Sometimes I'm convinced his legs are on my upper right side, but then I'll get a super strong kick to my lower belly that throws me off! Glad you found the labor positions at your class helpful. My class is a 5 week series and I think those are on the agenda for the next one.
@Modern Daisy: Sounds like you had a productive weekend! We're having issues with storage (or lack thereof) as well. I just don't know where I'm going to fit all this baby stuff! I'm someone who needs things to be organized so we've been looking for more shelving options and storage bins that can be neatly organized in the closet etc. I've been getting some good ideas from pinterest.
@JamieLee: Cute hamper!
On another note....this heartburn can go away any time now! *Reaches for tums*

OMG - I am so so so far behind! I was out all last week and crazy busy this weekend. A couple of notes from scanning the pages:
1) The exhaustion, heartburn and back aches are SO not cool! I have been having a rough time sleeping again!
2) I asked my stepdad the other day about the baby's position. I told him every once in a while I'll feel some odd movement from her and then its like one side of my tummy is harder than the other. He said thats likely me feeling her foot, elbow, butt, etc. So if anyone else feels that too it may be the bambino!
3) DH and I have been working like crazy in the house. We just decided to do two more projects we had been holding off on now before LO comes! Its madness in our house right now.
4) My shower is 4.5 weeks away - cant believe it!!!
5) I'm up 23 lbs...EEEK! Going to post my bump pic from this morning on the bump thread now!
Today is my Bday...big ole 3-1....I told DH I wanted ice cream for dessert!

@Modern Daisy: haha aren't the pregnancy dreams so bizarre?? I love them. You are SO organized! I'm jealous! We have so much stuff to do and seeing a list is so incredibly overwhelming! and that list doesn't even include prepping the nursery. wah!
@JAMIELEE: That is a great pic! Look at that cute little face!
@GRACE: Not quite as bad as sciatic, but my hips have been KILLING me at night.
@STRAWBERRYBEE: The snuggles are so important! And aren't the leg/foot cramps the worst?! I'll go to stretch a leg out and then BAM I'm awake because my leg is deciding to spasm!
@LAWBEE11: hahaha I have totally used it to check my own appointments and it has saved me from going a day early a couple times! I also have ZERO clue what my blood type is. I will have to ask! That little foot is adorable!
Also, yes, I am exhausted. Mostly because my hips hurt and I can't get comfortable at night... I so wish I could have a nap at work!
@REDSMARTIES: AWESOME about the stroller! That is super generous of them! I'm waiting out until after my shower on the 2nd, and maybe someone will buy it. I was going to buy it but my MIL scolded me for buying too much stuff already! LOL
@ALIVOO01: My husband has to take CPR yearly because of being a personal trainer, and I told him he needs to book it and get her to do the infant CPR too so that I can learn it without having to go to a class. lol I also wish I knew where DS was. I feel like he's head down because he has always been that way at ultra sounds, he's super stubborn that way, AND I always feeling him kick on right side. He seems to have a preference for it? That's my best guess though.
@GREENEBEE: I am super nervous about breast feeding. I don't want it to hurt. I've had dreams that birth and breastfeeding will be painless, so I think I'm clearly harbouring some fears for the pain involved with having a baby.
@JAMIELEE: Such a cute hamper! You're so talented!
@skipper2010: I am hating the heart burn. It's been waking me out of sleep. I never had it before pregnancy so this pain is all new to me. It's awful!
@Mrs D: Happy Belated Birthday!!!

eeeeeeee!! I just did some registry stalking, and some first purchases have been made! An organic cotton mattress pad and a 12 pack of wash clothes. lol. I'm far too excited about this. I need to not watch the registry every day.....
nectarine / 2530 posts
@greenebee: Honestly, so much of bf'ing (like birth) you're at the whim of circumstance that I'm trying not to worry too much about it today. So much depends on your baby having a good latch, you having a good supply, etc. I think the best thing you can do to prepare is know a good lactation consultant before your due date, so that you have someone to call if you're having problems (or you just want someone to tell you you're doing it right!). I did sign up for a BF'ing class through my doctor's office.
Speaking of which, our weekend childbirth class marathon is apparently not only the same weekend we have my stepkids, but also the weekend of the annual festival they love going to. Unfortunately this was the ONLY time we could take the course, as the next one won't be offered until 2 weeks before my due date. I kept on telling my DH that we couldn't have the kids that weekend (it's a five hour class each day, plus a 40 minute drive each way), but now I know that he'll be super bummed to miss the festival with them, since he's never ever missed going with them. Sigh.
Oh, and someone I work with told me that the reason our hips hurt so much is because now is the time they start expanding to prepare for childbirth. Awesome!
cherry / 189 posts
@.twist.: Glad I'm not alone! It's strange, I am almost more nervous about bf than actually giving birth! (I'm a weirdo).
@StrawberryBee: Ooh! Good advice! I think that may be where the anxiety comes from; not knowing if I am doing it right or if the LO is actually getting nourishment.
nectarine / 2530 posts
@greenebee: a friend of mine who just gave birth recommended this to me :). In fact, I would have the LC's number on hand and as soon as you give birth (or know when it will be, if a scheduled induction or c-section), call to make an appointment so that you're not waiting for their schedule to clear up. I guess that could be a part of the initial reaching out process...find out how long it takes from phone call to visit.
grapefruit / 4187 posts
@.twist.: Yaay! Isn't registry stalking exciting?? I check mine every day, I'll admit it. But I have good reason besides stalking. I change my mind constantly about what we want/need as time goes on and we make other purchases elsewhere. I also changed my mind about crib bedding 5 times so that got updated - and I'm not kidding you about an hour after I finalized my decision someone bought my crib sheet! Since I'm registered on Amazon with links to items on webistes from buy buy baby, aden & anais, land of nod, etc. when things go on sale it doesn't update my registry so I check that a lot too.
grapefruit / 4545 posts
@.twist.: @Alivoo01: @Grace: Thanks Ladies!
@StrawberryBee: @greenebee: I worry about BFing all the time. I am trying to be laid back about it and all "whatever I can do is great" but I secretly stress because I really want to EBF. Ugh!
I feel like I need to make a massive to do list for the next 3 months....I cannot even believe it is getting to the 3 month point!!!! As of today I have 100 days left...tomorrow when that counter shows 99 I know I will have a major panic attack!!!
clementine / 930 posts
@.twist.: we had our first registry purchase yesterday-a Jumperoo! I will be registry stalking a lot because I had to put a lot of the same stuff on registries at two different stores because there is no Babies R Us near my house/where my first shower is so I had to do a Target registry too. So I will have to manually mark stuff as purchased on the opposite registry...lol. Too bad, I hate to see what people have bought...not!
pear / 1693 posts
@.twist.: I'm totally guilty of registry stalking. The invites to my baby shower just went out and a couple of things have been purchased. It's so exciting!
The heartburn is OUT OF CONTROL! During the day it is fine, but it gets so bad at night that it wakes me up. UGH.
My husband just got a new job (hooray!) but it means my insurance just changed. I have to find a new prenatal care practice and it's super stressful. I feel like before we know it, August will be here and it will be baby time. I've started to really think about the hospital bag and post-partum supplies. I'm slightly horrified by the thought of purchasing huge pads and hemorrhoid remedies.
grapefruit / 4545 posts
@JessKas: OMG I know about the postpartum stuff! I feel I have been seeing more and more about hospital and diaper bag prep and it stresses me out that I need to start worrying about that stuff.
Then I read the postpartum blog post today and wanted to cry at what the recover sounds like!

Oh man I had a busy weekend and its hard to catch up. August ladies are so chatty, I love it!
@.twist.: I registry stalk too... I did the same when I got married. Spoons were bought off my baby registry this week and I ran downstairs to tell DH. He's like, uh they are spoons...baby can't even use them for a long time. As for your hips hurting, mine have been too...but I got one of those big exercise balls and when I watch tv I bounce on it and rotate my hips in big circles. I've been sleeping better and having way less hip pain.
@Mrs D: was it you I was chatting with about golf?! I went out this weekend and it was great. Even beat the husband, how's that for embarrassment! Beat by your pregnant wife! I did notice that I was hitting my belly with the end of my driver on my downswing since its a long club, but otherwise it felt pretty normal. Definitely took a cart and it was only 9 holes
Hope everyone is doing well. I can't complain too much, just leg cramps but the massage therapist I'm going to is helping with that. Exhaustion is starting to kick in. I meet my OB next Tuesday and I have a shower on June 1st. It's a small shower with my book club and can't wait. We are doing our big family shower the last weekend in September. Crazy to think there will be a baby in my arms!
nectarine / 2220 posts
@redsmarties: That's exciting! Nice to have the shower before baby's born to know what you'll still have to buy. I can't believe the price differences in all this stuff either. Luckily we're close to the border too, so we pop across frequently to pick stuff up way cheaper.
@Alivoo01: Easy to say "relax" when you're not the one who's business is being cut!
@JamieLee: Good job! The hamper turned out super cute!
Any "grilled cheese" people (or anybody for that matter) having their shower after baby is born? My mom's super against us having a shower before since "people won't know what to buy" and all protests that bottles, gear, diapers, are all purposely gender neutral is not deterring her. She lives 5 hours away, and I kind of think maybe she just doesn't want to waste a trip where there's no baby to snuggle... haha.
grapefruit / 4545 posts
@delight: Ahhh - so awesome you beat DH!!!! Unfortunately I dont think that is ever in the cards for me, DH is like a 4 handicap and I am like a 36 - so maybe I'd get enough strokes to beat him. I did almost get a hole in one last year (like a foot away) and DH - who has yet to get one - proclaimed he'd quit golf if I got one before him!
I asked my Dr the other day (on DH's request) if it was safe for me to play golf and she said that pregnant ladies often play their best rounds because the belly holds our posture right for a great swing! Sounds like you definitely experienced some good golf so maybe she was right! I haven't been out yet but we are planning to go to the range this weekend and try my swing out!

August Mama's....I'm having the predicted panic attack I mentioned yesterday. Luckily I am traveling for work this week and have my evenings to freak out in the peace and quiet of my hotel room. Anyways - to calm myself I am clearly making lists and spreadsheets. I am going to scour the blogs on here and other sites tonight to build potential checklists/packing lists for the diaper bag, hospital bag, baby toiletries and mama toiletries (all those TMI products) - so I'll happily share once I am done compiling! Just wanted to throw it out there to save any of your time who may be starting to do something similar.
I'm also re-building my freezer cooking plan and my baby clothing plan now that I have a better feel. I'll share those too...
See its good to have an OCD, psycho planning excel obsessed auditor in the group!

@JessKas: Prilosec!!! Seriously! My OB has me on it because without it my heartburn is unbearable and makes my morning sickness (which is still here... yay? One of the rare "lucky" few!) worse. Ask your Dr. about it. It has seriously been a life (and food) saver!

Ladies, I just wanna say, I am terrible at actually posting on here. I am, admittedly a stalker. (I always come in so late to conversations and feel weird butting myself in!) But you guys have been awesome! Seriously! Whenever I feel like I a going crazy over something I come on here and realize I am not the only crazy one! lol.

@Mrs D: you remind me that I still need to go through the paperwork for the hospital and send it back in...ugh! And I guess along with that, pick a pediatrician?
@.twist.: Just checked our registry and we had some stuff bought too! boppy cover, the bedding set (woohoo!), and Lamaze Jacques the Peacock ;). Also just got confirmation that the glider shipped and should be available to pick up on Tuesday (I had it shipped to store...I'm cheap. Planning on making sure the color's okay while I'm there so I can just turn around and return it if it isn't ;))
@JessKas: Congrats on your husband's new job! Maybe the change in prenatal care will all be for the best. "I'm slightly horrified by the thought of purchasing huge pads and hemorrhoid remedies." I'm in denial. Completely. These things will not happen/be needed. Nope.
I want to join a swim club. If for no other reason than it sounds like it would be so nice to just float and be weightless for a while for the next few months. On the plus side, no hip pain this morning!

@greenebee: Definitely not alone and not a weirdo! I am more scared of the post partum recovery than I am of actual birth!
@Modern Daisy: @JamieLee: @StrawberryBee: @JessKas: I am so glad I'm not the only registry stalker! You gals make me feel sane. lol
@JessKas: Heartburn has woken me up at night too! It's CRAZY. Same as you, fine during the day and as soon as I lay down at night BAM, heartburn. ugh!
I've also been trying to make lists for hospital bags and recovery items! It's so scary and I've thought about how to reverse this a few times, seems to be too late though! haha!
@delight: I am going to have to try that out thanks! DH has a few different sized exercise balls so I will go pick one and see if that helps!
@Mrs D: I would love to see your lists when you've completed them if you don't mind sharing! I am having the same panic attack but am not a great list maker! I am not good at prioritizing!
@StrawberryBee: haha I do store delivery too. I will be getting a rocker from ikea, and it's custom (fabric and wood) and I can't wait to go pick it out!!!!!!
nectarine / 2220 posts
@Mrs D: You're kind of giving ME a panic attack here... but good luck, and my lazy butt will definitely reap the benefits of whatever you post to share!
@Mrs Hedgehog: The conversation moves SUPER fast here, doesn't it? I thought I was pretty good about keeping up with threads on WB by checking in at least every couple days and responding, but these ladies, WOW! Blink and topics are started, answered and over, and you're the awkward one who's like... referring to that post 3 pages ago...
@StrawberryBee: I sucked it up and bought the huge pads on sale last week at the grocery store. I haven't seen those things since the late 90's... Even when I got them home, my husband was like, "wow, that's a bulk size pack of pads", and I was like, "Nope, just 24!"
pineapple / 12802 posts
@Sapphiresun: hahaha! I had some from a LONG time ago tucked away, I hope they are still good because I really don't want to spend money on a bunch of ginormo pads! Do pads go bad?
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
@StrawberryBee: Wise words lady, regarding birth/breastfeeding. I'm going to remember that
@JessKas: I'm with you. I'm more scared about recovery (like, we really need the old-school pads? Really) than I am about labour. Good luck with finding a new dr. It definitely stressed me out when I found out a few weeks ago that I didn't have an OB like i thought.
@Sapphiresun: I think my shower will be after baby comes. Kind of annoying, because it makes it harder to decide what to buy beforehand. But, I think lots of people are like your mom. They want to ooh and ahh over the baby, not necessarily make our lives easier. But what can we do? On the plus side, it's keeping me from buying anything that's not necessary. I've heard that having excuses to leave the house when LO is little is nice. So I imagine lots of stuff will be bought afterwards.
@Mrs D: I think once you've done your lists you'll feel better. I thought there was so much to do (this was a few months ago), but once I listed it all, I realized it wasn't that bad. It's really just a lot of shopping!
@Mrs Hedgehog: FWIW, I never feel like you are just a stalker. I think you belong here and can contribute whenever you like without feeling awkward.
@StrawberryBee: I'm thinking that swimming will be awesome too. I bought a mat bathing suit, so I'm going to make sure I use it!
I've only had twinges of heartburn so far. I've been getting it since I was 12, so I've got a pretty good handle on what the trigger foods are. I'm hoping I can control it with diet, because Tums do nothing!
clementine / 930 posts
I haven't had heartburn too bad and not too much hip paint but I keep getting major sciatic nerve pain. I bent over to pick something up at work this morning and almost couldn't stand back up! I'm also planning to swim a lot this summer. My ILs (who live about 500 yards away) have a really nice in ground pool so I plan to basically live in when I'm not at work. Still need to get a maternity bathing suit though.
I did my three hour gestational diabetes test yesterday. I haven't heard back from the, yet so I just left the OB nurse at my doctor's office a message. I'm really hoping to hear back one way or the other, just so I can know once and for all. From what I've read about it so far, it doesn't seem like it'll be too bad if I have it and it would actually force me to eat better and maybe instill some healthier habits in me and DH. So I'm fine either way...it is what it is. Although the test itself sucked! I had such a bad headache all afternoon after the test and I was soooo hungry! I don't think it's fair to make pregnant ladies fast! Lol!
clementine / 930 posts
Passed my three hour test! I think I'm going to start trying to sort of follow the diet anyway though since its such a healthy way to eat...we'll see...
