@delight: L is so beautiful!! I'm worried about the 4 month sleep regression now that DS is STTN too. Oh well, we just have to take it as it comes I guess. As for AF, she came back already, but I was only able to breastfeed for a couple weeks before we switched to formula so I wasn't surprised. We've been toying with the idea of TTC again next summer too because I absolutely love being a mom and it would be nice to have kids close in age, but then I think of the logistics of having two under two and I get scared. lol We'll see what happens when the time comes. Maybe the two of us will be due date month twins again next time around!

@StrawberryBee: oMG I totally took a pregnancy test this week too because I was feeling off. Except I peed on an OPK cause that's all I had and figured it would turn up as two very dark lines if I was KU. I can't believe I thought I was pregnant. Haha we are funny!
I've never heard of the Marpac Dohm before but looked it up? You're using it in your bedroom? We have a white noise machine in L's room and we can definitely hear it in our room too.
Does anyone know if we are supposed to wean the kids of white noise at some point? I'm scared what would happen if one night I didn't turn it on!
@skipper2010: it would be totally awesome to be due date twins again with ladies from this thread. I'm willing to bet it happens with some of us. I'd totally be ok with having two under two if the next one was like L.

@StrawberryBee: I can't believe AF is back already! boo!! Not fun. And super boo on sleeping on the floor!! Hope things get better for you!
@Delight: No AF here for me either. I think we'll TTC next summer as well because we want our kiddos close in age. However, DS's sleep is horrible so the lack of sleep for me = no baby dancing time. I feel bad, and I always want to but thinking about the amount of work that goes into (doesn't feel comfortable for me and I'm scared!) and the time it takes away from sleeping makes me nervous. Sigh....

@delight: Hey, stranger things have happened! Can you imagine? Being pregnant right now would mean baby due in August again!
E is still sleeping in our room, and we didn't have a white noise machine before now. So yes, it is for her :). The dogs are too loud and wake her up.
@Alivoo01: I didn't realize that having LO sleeping through the night can lead to AF's return. Not that knowing would have changed anything ;). I'm sorry DTD is still uncomfortable for you :(. I wish we could do it more often, but our schedules just aren't conducive to it right now. Poor DH.

Oh, and is anyone dealing with tons of drool right now? I'm wondering if E may be pre-teething?
She's also been spitting up like crazy this weekend.
Did anyone go to the Babies R Us "first christmas" meetup this weekend? We were about ten minutes late thanks to DH, so I didn't really have a chance to get settled and was kind of on the outskirts of the group. I was hoping it would be a chance to get to know some local moms, but everyone scattered as soon as the organized part of it was done.

Oh don't get me wrong, it'd be nothing short of a Christmas miracle if I was pregnant
@StrawberryBee: L spits up ALL the time. She full out chokes and vomits a couple times a week too. It's really scary. The doctor isn't worried so I try not to be and she is gaining weight fine as well. But there is milk barf all over my house and I have to change her and myself many, many times a day. I hear it's supposed to subside around 4 months. Here's hoping!
We don't have drool, other than that from all the spit bubbles she makes these days!
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@StrawberryBee: Like @delight:, we don't have much drooling apart from the many bubbles he's making or the liquid he's holding in his mouth which later causes hiccups. However, I think DS might be teething also. He's constantly wanting to chew on things/put things in his mouth and I see a hint of white in his gum line for one tooth (bottom right of the two front teeth if you're facing him). Meant to ask the pedi about this at our 4 month check up, but forgot. D'oh! I've been also wanting to take a pic of it to ask the hive for their opinion, but it's so dang hard to!

@StrawberryBee: AF made her appearance about a month after lo. I had two cycles and now waiting for her to show again but she hasn't. Would like to wait for her to make her reappearance in a few more months!
G had been having a lot of drooling, like soaking through bibs like it's the thing to do.
@delight: I never really had a problem with G throwing up but lately he had been coughing/chilling on his saliva and some projectile vomiting. So weird

@delight: God, I hope this ends soon! All her outfits and burp cloths have a musty smell to them from spitting up that I just can't get out no matter how many washings they go through (I even tried bleaching the burp cloths; will try vinegar next). She even manages to soak through bibs to the layers of clothes underneath.
I kid you not, she managed to do a full on water fountain impression yesterday while in the swing. I don't know how she did it without choking.
nectarine / 2530 posts
@Alivoo01: I know what you mean. I can see her upper gumline but have a really hard time seeing the lower.
@BabyMats: I hope you get a break with AF
E's four month visit is in three weeks. I'm nervous what they'll say about the flat spot in the back of her head. To me it's really noticeable, but I hope they'll say it's just normal and will shape out on its own.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@BabyMats: DS also holds spit and milk in his mouth. I don't know why he does this!! We always have to kind of tickle the underside of his chin to force him to swallow it. Otherwise, he'll cough/choke on it or cause him to have hiccups.
@StrawberryBee: haha! I'm just thining about your LO with a water fountain impression.

We did this past weekend at the Aulani Disney resort and it was a lot of fun. I can wait for him to get a little older but can't Wait at the same time had to share this pic of him just checking out Mickey mouse
Eta: we were holding him while he was doing this
nectarine / 2031 posts
@Alivoo01: I haven't thought about tickling under his chin. Will have to try that!
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@BabyMats: He looks like such a big boy in that viewing position! It's like he totally knows what's going on and is checking everything out!!
It's more like stroking instead of tickling if that makes sense. The pedi told us about it.
nectarine / 2031 posts
@Alivoo01: That does make more sense. I will try that.
They were having a big pool party with Mickey and Minnie and Goofy, so he was just looking and looking. This was his first weekend really outside most of the time and I think he really liked it!

@Alivoo01: @StrawberryBee: He is my giant baby! We were standing in line next to another couple with a baby that was his age..yeah he is pulling that Japanese sumo side or something..haha he was so much bigger!
nectarine / 2530 posts
@BabyMats: aww, he doesn't look sumo, he's adorable! E is chubbsters; someone in BRU commented on it ;). I don't mind, since I view those rolls as BF succeeding.
Speaking of which (I keep on thinking of things to post) I finally got around to making lactation cookies this weekend, and they are So Good! DH keeps on snacking on them. I used the recipe that was posted on the HB blog a week or two ago.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@BabyMats: He does NOT look like a sumo wrestler. He looks like a normal cutie patootie!!!
@StrawberryBee: DS is small for his, but he started out small so all the other kids are always much bigger than him. However, he's growing on track and porportionally so I'm happy. He's not chunky by any means, and has a few rolls. But I'm proud of his rolls as a result of us BF too!!
Can I pay you to send me a batch?! haha!

@Alivoo01: Sure, I like to bake! With this cold weather they would probably even survive in their journey to you

hi ladies! i'm not even going to pretend that i'll be able to go back and see how all of your LO's are doing, but i hope you and them are all doing well!
I can't believe that on Sunday A will be 4 months...it's going by way, way too fast!!!!!!! she's getting big. at 3 months she had a little virus(we think), or was not on the right formula, so she had to go to the docs we've changed formula and she's veen doing great! she was 12lbs 12oz and 22.75 inches long. obviously she is 100% formula now. she STTN! which is great since my 19 month old still doesn't...ugh. she goes to bed about 8:30-9 and sleeps till 6:30-7. she rolled over a couple times a month ago, but hasn't since. she's so social, already. everyone loves her, and she loves everyone, just like her brother!
having both the kids(2 under 1 1/2 when she was born) was way scarier than it actually was! i've adjusted pretty well, and for the most part so has DS. he loves giving his little sister kisses, but he also likes to hit her...still working on that haha.

@StrawberryBee: SO MUCH DROOL. Its probably been about three weeks or so. She soaks through bibs so fast, and all of her clothing. She even gets that drool/teething rash on her cheeks. Can't feel any bumps or anything on her gums though, so I'm assuming its pre-teething. Yikes!

@delight: @StrawberryBee: I also took a pregnancy test this week! I was/am feeling so nauseous and bagged. It came back stark white but I did it in the middle of the day with no hold haha.
@StrawberryBee: sooo much drool. However, you can see a tooth poking through onB's bottom gum. I bet it will go back down but you can see it clear as day when she cries.
@BabyMats: such a cute picture! Looks so warm. It was -13oC here last week. B didn't like that for our walks

Oh my gosh...so far behind!!! I love all the pictures you ladies have posted and am so glad to hear everyone is doing well!
K is 12 weeks today and I go back to work on Monday. I am starting to think about switching to formula...I just cant decide. I may hold out until after Christmas Break to try to get her to 4 months on BF only then make the switch when we start DayCare in January.
K sleeps through the night (except last night) for the most part. 8:30/9pm-5/6am. It is glorious. She is also a big time gooberer - like I have started putting bibs on her to catch the mess. She also is SUCH a chatter box...like unless she is sleeping or eating she is chatting away! Its so cute.
No rolling over but we have been bad about tummy time on the mat - we more do it tummy to tummy. I need to start working on that! She also intentionally grabs rattles now...she seems to favor the left hand, who knows!
Happy Thanksgiving to all the US August Moms...I'm off to finish getting ready and praying K falls asleep since she slept like such crap last night! Here is a picture of our fist loving goober!

@BabyMats: Aww he doesn't look sumo he's just adorable!
@StrawberryBee: I keep meaning to make those. Where did you find Brewer's yeast?
@Mrs D: Mine favours the left too. I always wonder if it's too early to mean anything yet though. She's gorgeous too!
nectarine / 2530 posts
@Sapphiresun: eventually got it at wegmans . It isn't in the baking aisle, it's in the health supplements section. It's a big tub and cost $10, but the while foods price (they were out) was $15 I think. Before I found it at wegmans I was going to go to Vitamin shoppe.

@Mrs D: K is so cute! Hope you had a good Thanksgiving!
So, DH just requested more lactation cookies *rotfl*. Feeding them to my stepkids as well (what the hey, they're healthy! In as much as something that has chocolate chips and sugar can be healthy).

I'm so excited! B took a bottle today. Actually she took 2 full ones! My husband and I had to go to his step brothers funeral today so we decided to leave B with my mom. For some reason B wasn't really eating today so I was really concerned she'd be horrible for my mom. She hasn't taken a bottle in like 2.5/3 months but I threw one in the bag just incase. My mom said that she just waited until she was almost asleep and then B just took it like she never stopped. Woohoo, maybe now I can get out once in a while again.. Ahh small victories

@MrsB2012: That is awesome! Can't wait for G to take a bottle. I go back to work on the 16th getting nervous!
blogger / honeydew / 7081 posts
@MrsB2012: So good! I'm glad you can get out of the house a bit - and hooray for the bottle-taking!
@StrawberryBee: Aha that's funny! I might have to try making them...and hiding them from DH.
@Mrs D: How are you feeling about going back to work? Doing okay?
LO has her first cold (and....I do too), and the poor baby is miserable! I feel like a bad mom, but the only thing she wants to do is lie on my lap and stare at Baby Einstein on the TV. So...I'm going with it. I figure, growing up, sick days were always movie-watching days.

@BabyMats: @Sapphiresun: @StrawberryBee: Thanks ladies...I think she is adorable but clearly I am biased!
@Sapphiresun: I totally am going to research this...I dont know at what age it means anything? DH reminded me that his nephew favored the left early on (which they were stoked about the prospects of a south paw) but now is a total righty!
@StrawberryBee: Yup - just made some lactation cookies and DH ate one...when I said what it was he immediately spit it out...thank god too bc I did not make that many!!!
@MrsB2012: Great about the bottle...sorry to hear about your loss...
@redsmarties: I am totally excited to go back to work but totally freaking out about pumping! I honestly dont know that I will get enough for her in only 2 sessions at work and am not sure I have the time to take 3 sessions. We'll see. Thankfully she was good last night and let me pump this AM so I didn't have to dip into my freezer stash day 1! Sorry to hear about the cold - hope you are feel tip top soon!
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@Mrs D: Good luck on your first day back! I had quite a few photos and videos of DS so I enjoyed looking back at them during pumping time. Plus, it's nice away time from the desk!
@StrawberryBee: That's hilarious your hubby requested the lactation cookies!!!
@MrsB2012: Yay for taking the bottle!! And you know you can get away for a few hours in the future!
@redsmarties: Boo on both of you getting sick. When DS was sick, I took it as an excuse to cuddle/hold him more often. I was worried about spoiling him normally, but when he was sick, all is fair game. Even though he was his normal self, I exploited the opportunity. haha! Hoping both of you recover soon. Having a sick baby sucks and it's heartbreaking.

@Alivoo01: Thanks! Thankfully today is going really well. So far I have pumped once (I'll pump again around 3 and then maybe right when I get home) and the Mother's Room is much better than I expected!!!

@MrsB2012: That is awesome on B taking a bottle!
@redsmarties: @Mrs D: @Alivoo01: They have peanut butter in them and he loves PB, so I'm not so surprised ;). We figure he doesn't have the equipment to make milk...and if he all of a sudden starts lactating, well, we can completely share feeding responsibilities!
@Mrs D: Glad to hear your mother's room is nice! I only pump twice at work and so far am keeping up with her needs.

@StrawberryBee: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! That's awesome!! Are you secretly wishing just maybe.... So you can get a break??

@babymats: he is so sweet! I could look at photos of your LO all day. What a cutie!
@Mrs D: hope back to work went well! It must be tough going back. I'm not looking forward to March but thankful for the time I've had off. That's great K is giving you great sleep! That'll be helpful now that you're back to work!
@MrsB2012: amazing that she took a bottle! It's a big struggle for us and basically either I just don't bother going out or I have a crappy time when I do go out, knowing she's at home screaming her head off. We will keep trying on the bottle though.
@redsmarties: so sorry you are both sick! I'm not looking forward to L's first cold. It's perfectly fine to just sit and watch tv! Don't even think twice about it!
I took L to my Aunt's in Toronto this weekend for our annual Holiday craft weekend. L was perfect. She slept in a PNP which we've never done at home and she slept sooooooo well. I was surprised since she was in a new environment. All her naps were 1.5-2 hours long which rarely happens here and she STTN. She has discovered her tongue and feet! Her tongue is always out now, it's so funny. She also rolled once back to front but it freaked her out and she got pretty upset. I went a little crazy with online shopping this weekend with all the sales and am expecting lots of packages in the mail this week! I know I should buy her clothes too far ahead, but she didn't have any clothes for 12m and up so I bought her some stuff. That's all that's new with us. I can't wait for the holidays when my DH has two weeks off and can spend lots of time with us.

@delight: Thanks! That is awesome her sleep was so good at your aunties makes it less stressful! And that picture it so freaking adorable!
