@OldpuebloJenn: So funny about your daughter. And I'm so glad you got a happy, chatty utlrasound tech. Funny you thought of me with my stone-faced tech. If you have to go back to get a profile shot, at least you will get to see baby again!

@Pirouette: Okay, I thought that was you with the "quickie" ultrasounds! And I really hope you don't catch coxsackie! I've never even heard of that before!

@agold: it's so so horrible! my LO had a 102-103 fever for over a week, and couldn't eat a thing because of these horrible sores in her mouth. she was miserable. then the day her fever broke, my husband got it, and it's crazy seeing an adult deal with what your 2 year old just had, because I can safely say my daughter is a freaking trooper! he is actually more whiny when he tries to eat than she was and my husband is not a wimp. i've never seen him so sick, and i just want to move out for a few weeks because I know it's coming for me next! (but, the results of my 20 questions for the doctor were that baby is at no risk at all if i get it, so at least there's that).

@Pirouette: Sounds awful. But at least there is no harm to your baby if you do end up catching it. I pray you don't!

@T.H.O.U.: Thanks for always doing this!

I think most everyone is posting on the gold Aug board now. Is it just really private stuff being posted there, or has the whole general conversation moved there?

  10. dcw6411

    apricot / 382 posts

@T.H.O.U.: Thank you for keeping up with the list!

@agold: I am still here on both threads, just have been too busy to post much. I think the threads pick up towards the end so I bet you will see more activity here as people head into 3rd trimester. Hope you are feeling well!!

@AprilFool: Ugh, I have mine next week. I want to barf just thinking about the nasty stuff. Hope it's going well for you and congrats on getting it done!

@dcw6411: Thanks! So the gold picks up in the middle months? I suppose I will check back in in a few months then. I hope you are doing well!

  13. Pirouette

    pomegranate / 3331 posts

@agold: i'm still here! my gold is expiring soon, so i will only be active here I don't think there's a whole lot going on in the gold thread right now either. i think it's probably just the lull of the 2nd tri where there's not a heck of a lot new to report.

@AprilFool: thinking of you today! i'm so dreading this!!!

  14. T.H.O.U.

    wonderful clementine / 24134 posts

Yup besides my pregnancy brain, not a whole lot new going on here!

  15. agold

    grapefruit / 4045 posts

@Pirouette: That's so funny. Every day I feel like I have something to report!! New bleedy gums in the morning. Great. And my doctor's office called yesterday to say anatomy scan looked fine. But it caused me momentary panic because I was told they would only call with bad news.

  16. Pirouette

    pomegranate / 3331 posts

@agold: oh that's amazing news! I had the same panic attack when my doctor called with the panorama results when she said she'd upload them unless it was bad news. I'm so glad everything looked good. ugh, pregnancy does a number on my teeth and gums, it sucks stupid hormones!

@agold: Oh man, I have no idea how we got going over there. We're mostly talking about clothes and shoes, nothing private .

  18. agold

    grapefruit / 4045 posts

@ShootingStar: That's so funny. I seriously was having FOMO and imagined you girls talking about some earth shattering pregnancy issue that I don't, but need to, know about.

  19. ShootingStar

    coconut / 8472 posts

So I'll move the shoe discussion over here and repost my original since no reason for it be on the gold thread, we had just been talking about clothes and that reminded me of shoes:

BTW, if anyone's interested in baby moccs, I got a great deal on some one ebay. I saw good reviews for this brand on a blog, and they're only about $3 each so I figured no big deal if they're not great. Shipping takes a long time, but none of us are in a rush. http://www.ebay.com/itm/272044737041?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&var=570857685176&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

@T.H.O.U.: I did see them on Amazon, where they got decent reviews. Way more expensive there (comparatively) though. If I wanted them quicker I'd be more tempted to do Amazon though instead of waiting weeks for delivery from China.

Yeah, sorry! I tried to move the convo over to the "gear" threads but it didn't happen. To summarize, I have expensive taste in baby clothes, and although I don't "need" anything I'm going to pick up a few sleepers and some pants/outfits.

And I like to fold and resold baby clothing over and over, to the neglect of every other chore in my house.

  21. agold

    grapefruit / 4045 posts

@Silva: I apparently have expensive taste in baby clothing, too! But I'm graciously taking so many hand-me-downs from my husband's co-workers' wives which is nice. But still.. I want new stuff, too. This is going to be a problem. ETA: Can you please tell me what kind of baby clothes you are looking at?

  22. Silva

    cantaloupe / 6017 posts

My favorite is Hanna Andersson, their "bright baby basics" line is incredibly soft and so sweet. I also love their Jammies, and they hold up crazy well.
Zutano booties and cozy hats, and their cozy overalls.....
And, as I've mentioned, I have a thing with merino wool. Nui organics stuff is really soft.

@Silva: Usually Costco comes out with some summer dresses from HA. They are super cheap (like $20 for dress + leggings). I'm hoarding a gift card so I can buy them again!

Also, I looked back at pictures and my daughter wore one of the HA dresses 2 years ago and it still fits her. She has gotten taller obviously and now has to wear the leggings with it, but the brand seems to fit a wide range of sizes.

@agold: @Silva: I love Hanna Anderson too, and tea collection is my absolute fav. @agold: check out buy sell trade groups on Facebook. I belong to 2 or 3, and I haven't sold (hanging in to my clothes till baby 2 is here), but everything I've bought has been great, and cost efficient!

@OldpuebloJenn: yes, I get some tea and HA from Facebook groups too. Especially the HA Jammies which just hold up incredibly.

@ShootingStar: Adorable baby shoes. Thanks for sharing!

@Silva: Thanks for telling me about Hanna Anderson. I have never heard of it before, but I just looked it up and see that there is a store at my favorite outdoor shopping mall. I have probably walked past it several times and never even realized. I saw on the website that she has things made of pima cotton. I just got a onsie made with pima cotton by a brand called Kissy Kissy. A lady in a store recommended it to me and it feels lovely. I'm already wanting to buy more.

@T.H.O.U.: I love deals at Costco!

@OldpuebloJenn: Thanks for telling me about the FB group. I've never joined FB but now I'm wanting to more and more for all of the little groups that go on there.

    cantaloupe / 6017 posts

@agold: omg their stuff is amazing. And as was mentioned the sizing is generous so it lasts forever. I can't say enough about their pajamas- it's all I buy for my daughter now. And their day dress/play dresses plus leggings are a great staple. Their clothing is soft, easy to play in, and washes really well. The cotton is really thick and can take a beating. It will last through several kids

@agold: glad to hear your anatomy scan went well!

@AprilFool: have we reached the point of glucose testing already?! Ughh I'm not looking forward to that. How did yours go?

  32. agold

    grapefruit / 4045 posts

    @Glitter: Thank you!!

And I can't believe that there is more glucose testing. A few weeks ago I drank some kool-aide and then waited 1 hour before having blood drawn. I was hoping that was it!

Closet pics of our stash so far. This is NB and 0-3.

  35. agold

    grapefruit / 4045 posts

@ShootingStar: Amazing!! My closet is set up like yours - one white wire clothes hanger rack thing. And the closet is the length of the entire room. Three closet door panels. Are you planning to do anything different inside the closet? I see you have a pink hanging cubby thing. That looks good and useful.

  36. ShootingStar

    coconut / 8472 posts

@agold: right now the pink cubbies are holding giant zip locks of larger size clothes. We have one of those hanging bars too but you can't really see it. At this point we're going to leave the closet as is. I was going to put a whole new organization system in, but then we decided we're going to move in a couple years so I figured I'd live with it. I'm not a fan of her closet because it's super wide past the opening, so annoying to get use out of all the space. But oh well.

  37. coopsmama

    cantaloupe / 6059 posts

@ShootingStar: love!! Baby clothes are so precious.

@AprilFool: Sorry you're having to take the test! Hope it goes just fine though and you pass seamlessly!

My practice doesn't require me to opt in for Glucose testing. They do a blood draw that they take a measurement of probability (called an A1C) from and that combined with other things tells them if they want me to do the standard Glucola test. I didn't have to last time and likely won't this time.

  38. agold

    grapefruit / 4045 posts

@ShootingStar: Mine is wide past the opening too. I currently have suitcases in that spot on one side and wrapping paper stuff on the other side. I would like an organizer but imagine it will be expensive. I still want to get a quote. I really mostly want closet doors. Mine are so ugly. I really hope I'm out of my house next year and for sure no longer than three more years (God help me) but still. ugly closet doors for 1+ more year. I may die. (Insert overly dramatic emoji.)

  39. AprilFool

    nectarine / 2591 posts

@coopsmama: I am going through the public system in Aus and it's just standard that everyone takes the 2 hour now (used to be the 1 hour when I had DD). I can decline but since I am going through the birth centre I don't want anything that could make me high risk.

I survived! And it really wasn't that bad after the drink wore off a bit. I am going to have some chocolate this afternoon just incase though

@ShootingStar: I love how organised your closet is! I really need to start thinking about how to organise ours, especially since LO and #2 will be sharing.

  40. T.H.O.U.

    wonderful clementine / 24134 posts

@agold: I'll have to find a pic but we have the imea kallax cubes in the kids closets. The room for clothes to hang but all the cube storage below.
