@Pirouette: haha, I've been freezing cold my entire life--I keep waiting for the pregnancy heat to start so I can even out for once. everyone I talk to keeps saying how miserable it is to be hugely pregnant in August but I love that time of year. hopefully you can get lots of A/C!
@OldpuebloJenn: do it!!

@LCTBQE: Yes! The swelling during my first pregnancy was other worldly . . . I had pitted edema in my lower legs; if I bumped into anything, the dent in my leg would be there for an hour or so. At some point, the swelling never really went away . . . it would improve somewhat overnight, but when I started to move around the next day, it would set in again. It was awful . . . and it started around 22ish weeks. : / This time, however, I still have ankles at 28 weeks! I start to swell up a bit by the end of my work day, but this is 1,000 times better than it was with my first! I'll take it!

I never really swelled up last time, even though I was pregnant over summer. Oh except after delivery when I'd had a ton of IV fluids. I didn't bring my rings to the hospital so it was fine.
I haven't really experienced anything yet this time either, but it hasn't gotten hot yet. My rings fit comfortably at wide range of weights, so I'm not planning to get a replacement at this point, especially since even if it's needed it won't be for that long.

A little Wednesday fun:
What are your "splurge" item(s) for LO on the way? So far, mine have been what I consider a $$ crib sheet.....and some Freshly Picked moccasins in a couple different sizes (bought today because there's a 1-day sale on their website for 25% everything).
Your turn!

@agold: the last two mornings I've woken up with jaw pain! You may be on to something!
@pregnantbee: I splurged on some art for the nursery, the previous art followed my daughter to her big girl room, so I splurged on some beautiful prints!

@LCTBQE: I haven't heard of that specific pillow you mentioned yesterday. I was gifted a pregnancy pillow a few months ago but I returned it to the store because it was so big and overwhelmed me space wise in my house. Maybe I'm regretting it now!
@pwnstar: That "pitted edema" you had sounds awful. I'm so glad its much better this time around.
@OldpuebloJenn: Glad, but also sad, I'm not the only one with seemingly random jaw pain!! So sorry to hear you have it, too!
@pregnantbee: Fun question! Luckily our splurge items have been gifted to us so far. A land of nod glider, which I consider to be more a gift for me and my husband than the baby. But baby girl will be getting a nice crib mattress that I don't think anyone will buy off our registry so that will be a splurge for us for her.
And this morning I took my glucose test! I may be crazy, but I don't think the orange drink is really all that bad.

@agold: Good luck passing! And yay for splurge gifts! Those are the best.
@OldpuebloJenn: Ooooh, I love art!

We just got back from visiting a friend and her newborn. Look at my daughter! She's ready to be a big sis!

@pregnantbee: I think our splurge was her coming home outfit from Janie and Jack. Everything else has either been reused from DS, or we've gotten pretty reasonably. Ikea furniture, faux leather moccs, etc. We had intended to splurge on the Halo Bassinest, but then we couldn't find the model we wanted and we found out BBB wouldn't let us use a coupon on it either. DH convinced me the Arm's Reach one would actually work better for us, and it was way cheaper.

@ShootingStar: Ooooh, I don't think we've owned anything from Janie & Jack. Very nice.

@pregnantbee: I have 2 pairs of freshly picked in my cart but shipping costs make them outrageous. I am crying!
Our splurge has been a moses basket. It arrived today and I am so so excited.

@pregnantbee: I'm seriously obsessed with her outfit, lol. I bet your moccs are so adorable though! Which ones did you get?
grapefruit / 4717 posts
@ShootingStar: *ducks* the real FP moccs. They had a 25% sale. So I got 3 different sizes -- total of 4 pair: platinum, weathered brown, blush, and oasis. Don't tell my husband.

@AprilFool: What?? It should be free shipping over $50 today. Unless your 2 pair are newborn, which comes out to less than $50??
grapefruit / 4717 posts
@AprilFool: Hooray for fun splurges! I think this type of the stuff is some of the best about expecting a new baby
grapefruit / 4717 posts
@AprilFool: NOOOOOOO. They charge $33 to ship to AUS?? UM. And I think I totally forgot you're there!
nectarine / 2591 posts
@pregnantbee: Yep! It's crazy.... for a tiny pair of shoes. And it's an easy thing to forget
grapefruit / 4717 posts
@AprilFool: Haha. I pretty much bought the first 2 pair so I could get free shipping. Otherwise it would be $10.
kiwi / 595 posts
@pregnantbee: I just bought 2 pair! But, baby is going to have to come to preschool drop off and pickups with me- and if s/he is wearing cute moccs and I'm wearing baby, it'll limit germ exposure, right? RIGHT?! That's how I'm justifying it.
grapefruit / 4717 posts
@OldpuebloJenn: Ahem. Totally legit reasons for needing Mocs. What colors did you get?
kiwi / 595 posts
@pregnantbee: boring stone suede. Still adorable, but being team green and all, I had to play it safe. The blush and the gold dot were SOOO cute!!
grapefruit / 4717 posts
@OldpuebloJenn: Totally understand I personally don't understand why so many of the prints are so hot. Who wants to wear "pizza" on their feet?

@AprilFool: they had a big sale today on FP and I thought it said free shipping over $50. What did you decide?
grapefruit / 4717 posts
@T.H.O.U.: I said the same above. She told me she lives in Australia and shipping alone would be $33!
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@AprilFool: can you please tell me about the Moses basket you got? Does it have a stand? What kind of bedding?
nectarine / 2591 posts
@T.H.O.U.: Yep shipping to OZ. I haven't decided but am leaning towards no. It's just too much $$
@agold: I got this one https://www.adairs.com.au/adairs-kids/nursery/adairs-baby/amor-moses-basket It's an Aussie store so it won't help you Of course it is $10 cheaper now but ah well! I got both the basket and the stand. I saw it in store and fell in love

@pregnantbee: I haven't gotten any splurge items yet! I think that's coming though . . . I don't consider PB *splurging,* but I'm about to order the rug and curtains for the nursery (I already have his crib sheets/quilt). And we just finished LO's big girl room, so there's that too! I don't have any new clothes for this kiddo yet, and we definitely need some because almost nothing for LO was neutral! But I don't feel rushed or stressed about it--yet!
coconut / 8472 posts
@pwnstar: Oh, I forgot that I got PB curtains and rods. They weren't cheap, but I really like their blackout panels. And they're necessary in that room. Plus the rods were comparable to going to Bed Bath and Beyond and using a coupon. I may have splurged on the unnecessary, but super cute finials though .
pomegranate / 3331 posts
@pwnstar: I'm the same right now...we just finally completely finished LO's big girl room (even though she's been in there for months, i finally got the curtains up, the final step!) and I guess I splurged a bit on that...PB bedding, nice furniture, and PB curtains (although those were super cheap). Her rug was cheap off wayfair though. And I haven't splurged on baby boy at all! poor kid gets the shaft. LO's old furniture, sheets, curtains, etc. I should probably come up with something fun for him!
Oh man, i woke up in the middle of the night with the WORST charley horse...oh the pain! going to try to chug water today. Man pregnancy sucks sometimes!
grapefruit / 4717 posts
@ShootingStar: What finials did you get....I might have gotten some "crystal" ones from BBB Oh, and we got a double curtain rod so that I could hang a layer of blackout curtains and another layer of not quite as blackout. In our son's room, we went the less expensive route of buying that $3 black paper shade that just sticks with adhesive to the top of the window pane. It works great, but it's a pain if we ever want to open it, so we just leave it down at all times. I wanted more versatility for baby's room.
coconut / 8472 posts
@pregnantbee: I got the light pink one of these - http://www.potterybarnkids.com/products/heart-finial-hardware-set/?pkey=cwindow-hardware&&cwindow-hardware
pear / 1718 posts
@pregnantbee: We also did a double curtain rod in LO's room (we will do the same for the baby's room) . . . just so I could use the PB sheers with the metallic hearts!
grapefruit / 4717 posts
@pwnstar: Awwww, thanks!
And my husband actually thinks the install for the double rod is complicated b/c everything has to line up perfectly for the 2 rods, and there are 3 brackets. Eek!
