    @pwnstar: Hooray for a date! Must be so great to know when. You've got this!

    @coopsmama: This is why I'm surprised that my daughter doesn't look like a bagel! I hate a very small range of things at the end, too, bc nothing except bagels or dessert sounded good.

    @pwnstar: Yay, that's great to have a date! I had my first with a non-emergency, non-planned c-section. I failed to progress so we figured it was time to call it. Feel free to ask my anything, there's also a giant thread on c-section experiences. I didn't think recovery was too bad, but make sure to take the meds and take them ON TIME. I only needed them for less than 2 weeks, but I definitely needed them. You should also find out how baby/mom friendly your c-section can be. It will different than a vaginal birth in terms of when you can hold the baby, needing to go the nursery afterwards, etc.

    As for me, I had my 37w appointment today. The dr doesn't think I'll make it another 2 weeks to my scheduled c-section, given all the episodes of contractions I've been having. The frustrating thing will be ascertaining whether I'm really in labor. Fingers cross it happens soon. And not at 3am, lol.

    @LCTBQE: @coopsmama: Thanks for the encouraging words about my 37-week gloom. I'm actually feeling a whole lot peppier today!!

    @LCTBQE: I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who had plants that couldn't hardly survive the pregnancy!! I managed to muster up the energy to at least pull up the dead plants last night when I got home. I went to the grocery store and there was a succulent outside of the door so I bought that to put into one of the pots. But everything else out there will get done if I find myself sitting around with nothing else to do.

    @pwnstar: wow! must feel crazy to have a c/s scheduled for so soon! 1 week! that's great!!!

    @ShootingStar: Crazy that today your doctor told you she doesn't think you will make it two more weeks. I hope this happens soon for you since it seems like that is what you want!! Must be crazy to be in such a state of limbo.

    As for myself... I also had my 37 week OB check today. The doctor did a cervical check and said that my baby girl won't be coming anytime soon. Phew!! I'm zero dilated and zero effaced. She did say that she doesn't like the babies to go over 41 weeks. Because of that, I will get a call from someone on my due date, August 24th, to schedule an induction on the 31st. So crazy to think about that. I'd really prefer not to be induced so I hope baby girl comes naturally on the 31st! Wednesday would work out great re: my husband's schedule, too.

    @coopsmama: I about gagged at the smell of eggs too the other day!

    Nothing really sounds good. The other day I actually ate a plate full of BBQ grilled chicken and DH was really happy. Other than that i've been eating a lot of grilled cheese sandwiches.

    Also, when my OB was about to do the cervical check, she told me it would be uncomfortable because she'd have to reach way up. Well... it wasn't in any way uncomfortable for me. Now I feel like a ho. Does anyone else find the cervical checks to be a non-issue???

    The mild contractions I was having seem to have stopped 😕
    It's really hot here and I'm super cranky. Counting down until my husband gets home and not sure how I'm going to make it today.

    @coopsmama: Thanks!

    @pregnantbee: LOL @ bagel!

    @ShootingStar: Thanks! I will definitely search for the thread and read through it later. And also . . . Take meds on time-Noted!

    @T.H.O.U.: Awww-yay! And thanks

    @agold: I'm pretty sure a cervical check isn't one of the *you know you're a ho when . . .* tests. Maybe you were just . . . relaxed? Or, maybe you're just lucky. Either way, I wouldn't give it too much thought!

    @Silva: C'mon baby - let's get it started!

    @agold: My OB has to reach way up but besides being uncomfortable, its not terrible by any means.

  11. T.H.O.U.

    wonderful clementine / 24134 posts

    @Silva: Im sorry. Do you think you were just dehydrated?

    Thats another reminder for anyone getting cramps, the OB said the first thing to do is to chug some water to make sure you aren't dehydrated. The first thing they will do is give you fluids so try to make sure its not that before going in!

    @T.H.O.U.: I don't think so, given the duration and pattern. That plus the mucus plug... I'm still optimistic that it will happen in the next few days. I feel really off.

    Costco at 38w2d is not for the faint of heart. Thank goodness for the free samples and pizza, or I think I'd still be sitting on the display furniture!!

    Hippy alert- anyone doing/or have done placenta encapsulation?

  16. pwnstar

    pear / 1718 posts

    @OldpuebloJenn: I have not done it. I'm pretty sure I'm going to donate my placenta!

  17. OldpuebloJenn

    @pwnstar: wow, I had no idea about donation till I just googled it! Awesome!

  18. pwnstar

    @OldpuebloJenn: I didn't either until I was scheduling my c/s and the nurse mentioned it to me.

  19. MrsKerch

    apricot / 256 posts

    @OldpuebloJenn: I want to encapsulate, but kind of forgot about it until a week ago. I need to look into my options this weekend!

    Had my 36 week check today. Passed the BPP and everything looked good again this week and no contractions showed up on my NST. I'm scheduled to start induction on the eve of 8/25 if Fidget doesn't decide to come before. It feels good to know the latest she'll be here!

    I've been waking up with what feel like panic attacks the last two weeks or so...I asked my Dr about it today and she said its most likely just because I'm pregnant. Yay for good feedback! /sarcasm

    I left the appointment feeling completely defeated and weepy! Then got to work where shit was hitting the fan and it was 92*/no AC...I lasted like 3 hours and got sent home. On the way I grabbed some taco bell because I hadn't eaten lunch yet...and It is really not sitting well with me! So I'm giving up on today. I just turned the air down and shut the curtains in our room and am going to watch some stupid RomCom in bed! DH has golf league tonight, so I'm on my own anyway.

    Hope you all are having better days than us! Woof!

  20. agold

    grapefruit / 4045 posts

    @MrsKerch: Wow! What a day. did your work send you home because you are pregnant and there was no AC? I think shutting yourself in and watching a move in bed sounds like a dream!! I never mind when my husband is gone for the evening or night because I love to lay around and just be quiet.

    Why are you getting induced next week? Will you just be about 38 or so weeks? Vaginal birth or c section?

  21. MrsKerch

    apricot / 256 posts

    @agold: yes, I work with one other guy right now and he said he looked over at me and I was sweating and all flushed and doesn't want to be responsible if I were to go into labor there so...

    Our plan is to induce at 39ish weeks because of immediate family medical history. Most recently, my cousin, 2 yrs older than me sadly lost her first at 39 weeks with no real explanation as to why. She's since had a successful pregnancy where they induced her at 37 weeks. But, we have similar genetic markers, so we're just playing it safe.

    I'm already more relaxed!

  22. agold

    grapefruit / 4045 posts

    @MrsKerch: Oh, wow. That's terrible about your cousin. So this morning, my OB said she wouldn't want me to go over 41 weeks because of the risk of still birth. That freaked me out and I pushed it out of my mind. Maybe I should ask for an earlier induction.....

  23. T.H.O.U.

    wonderful clementine / 24134 posts

    @agold: I think it's just something you and your OB have to determine when there is a bigger risk inside vs outside and induction successs rate. All of those are personal factors but usually fall within 39-42 weeks.

  24. OldpuebloJenn

    kiwi / 595 posts

    @MrsKerch: I just finalized my encapsulation process today, at 38w, so hopefully you can find someone too! I had Ppd and Ppa with my first, so I'm willing to give this a try! What an off day you had, but holla for Taco Bell and Romcoms!

    Yet another "kind" individual while I was out to dinner for my anniversary with my husband tonight: "are you due in like hours or what? You're ready to pop!" Me: "ah yeah, I'm due next weeks." Her: "with twins?"

    @Glitter: Even still, it's not appropriate to say. And thank you! Just 4 years of marriage! 5 years together, 4 years of marriage, and a third baby due any time - we've been busy!

    @coopsmama: I'm sorry about the douche-y comments. And I agree. It's not appropriate under any circumstances. I hope it didn't rent too much space in your head during your anniversary dinner. Happy Anniversary!!!

    @coopsmama: happy anniversary! You HAVE been busy!

    I think @Glitter: is right that most people don't *mean* harm, but still they shouldn't say that! I was telling my older brother just the other day how someone asked me "how many babies do you have in there?!" and my brother said he once said that to a co-worker. It was probably 16 years ago, before he had kids and he still feels bad he said it, once he realized how rude and awful it was!

    @coopsmama: Happy anniversary! And what a lame comment. Hope it didn't bring you down any!

    So I just had my friday morning monitoring appointment - fetal heart rate and movement followed by amniotic fluid check. I had my favorite nurse, which was great in and of itself. She initially could only find pockets of 4 cm of fluid. That's outside the realm of normal and I was devastated. But told me to stay laying down on the table for 20 or so minutes and she'd come back and check again. Sure enough, after a little searching around, she found pockets of 9 cm of amniotic fluid! Phew! But what if I had a grumpy nurse who would have just recorded me at 4? So crazy to think of how many babies are unnecessarily born early because of such things.

    @coopsmama: hope your appt goes well today. I promise to only be slightly bitter if you go before me

    nothing happening over here, just waiting. trying to adjust my frame of mind after all my excitement yesterday. my mom came over to play with my daughter today so I've had it pretty easy. And my husband is off until Tuesday.
    finished my baby quilt finally, and got 3 gallons of blueberries put away in the freezer. i think its supposed to cool off a little bit tomorrow, so I might make some pickles. Trying to refocus on my to-do list to distract myself!

    Popping in, had our baby boy today at 7:20, we are all doing great just incredibly tired!

    Btw second time moms... We came to get checked at 2am and were turned away for only being 1.5cm and 50% effaced, and at 6am were admitted as I was fully dialated and ready to push!! Things progressed so fast I had an all natural birth, although I would have done so so much for an epidural there just wasn't time. There wasn't even time for a water birth. Thankfully there were two doulas on call and they literally made getting this kid out possible.

    That's it for now, gl to the rest of you ladies!!!
