@Silva: oh bummer. They aren't bad frozen but they are much better fresh! I get them at whole foods. I may spend a ridiculous % of my salary on udis these days

I can't believe I'm this big and not quite 12 weeks. Third babies, man.

@pregnantbee: Thank you! I think now that I'm starting to share with people here and there I'm enjoying the bump a bit more than even a week or two ago.

@coopsmama: Don't sweat it mama - you look great!

@pregnantbee: I am 11 weeks today, and have a CVS scheduled for next Wednesday (at 12 weeks). If it takes 2 weeks to get the results, that puts me at 14 weeks before I tell my office. Hopefully, the results come in just a wee bit before that . . . I don't have a bump yet, and am hoping I don't start showing until I feel comfortable disclosing!

@coopsmama: awww, you look just lovely mama First baby here and I just look like I ate a little too many cheeseburgers lately

@pwnstar: don't worry, @pregnantbee: can help you hide your bump with her superior bump hiding dressing skills! I have a feeling announcing will coincide with giving notice so i'm not sure what my timing will be yet, but they won't really care that i'm pregnant i guess! I may tell my boss after my NT scan, but i haven't booked that yet. likely the week of Feb 15th.

@Silva: I hear you on the carbs. I'm diabetic so I'm not supposed to eat bagels because it's just too much carbs all at once for me. And of course they're free in my office 3 days a week. I sometimes dream about eating other random things, like cereal.

When I'm not pregnant I have a whole lot more leeway with what I can eat. 6.5 more months to go .

@Pirouette: @Silva: @ShootingStar: I'm sorry about bagels, ladies. I really don't know what I'd do without them. Well, maybe I wouldn't be on track to gain 60 lbs....jk. Not much else is appealing, so that's my go-to.

Thanks for the bump-hiding compliments. I'm available for consults and advice.

@pwnstar: If you don't have a bump yet then I bet you'll be able to hide until you're ready.

@mrschickpea: Ah, the cheeseburger stage. Been there with my first. It will soon pass, and you'll have a legitimate bump before you know it.

@mrschickpea: I'm in the same boat as you. I keep getting nervous that maybe the baby isn't growing and my "lumpiness" is just me and my extra grilled cheeses lately! Thank goodness I have an US appointment tomorrow, I am really nervous this time around.

@coopsmama: Eee, you look so cute!!

@pwnstar: I'm with you on not wanting to tell work for a bit...I'd like to hold off for at least another month, if possible. Not showing yet, but who knows when it'll happen? Good luck to you! I'm sure you can find ways to hide it if a little something starts showing up before you're ready

@mrschickpea: @MrsKerch: I literally look exactly the same so far. First babies! Then I'm sure there will come a point when we'll long to be a bit smaller, haha.

@MrsKerch: good luck for your US tomorrow! It was such a relief to see how much baby had grown and was so active! Can't wait to hear about it

@pregnantbee: no need to feel sorry for me! i'm eating gluten free bagels like they're going out of style!

@MrsKerch: I feel you on the nerves! i'm so nervous that baby won't be growing at my appt next week. or never existed to begin with! Good luck tomorrow!!!

@coopsmama: You also look so tiny so maybe that's why you are showing. But all around, you look darling. How exciting to have a baby bump!

I had my ultrasound today and the baby looked big and measured 10w0d. I'm starting to feel more excited than nervous at this point. Its great that I'm turning that corner.

@agold: Yes, I'm naturally a skinny, tall build so baby has no where to go but straight out! But I will say that I'm showing much much earlier than I did with either of my two! Unbelievable.

Love love love your ultrasound pic! Congrats on another good scan. So glad everything seems to be looking just fine.

@agold: You're welcome. No need to feel silly. The first trimester is no joke. I'm glad you feel you can relax a bit and start enjoying it more. I love having you all as a support group. There's no such thing as a silly question or feeling or TMI. I probably won't fully relax until baby is here.

@Silva: I can't find fresh bagels either. I always buy the udi's frozen, over toast them a little, and add a ridiculous amount of cream cheese. Fresh yummy gfree bagels would be awesome. I'd love a donut too!!

@agold: Your LO looks happy in that scan! I'm so glad you feel like you can relax a little now. And I totally agree with @pregnantbee: . . . there is no such thing as silly or TMI. Especially amongst this group of smart, caring women.

    @MrsKerch: Good luck today!

@mrschickpea: It's so hard to predict when your belly will pop! I didn't pop with my first until around 27 weeks, and I still haven't with this pregnancy either (although I feel like I have by the end of the day). Although I will say that there are some things that I appreciate about that . . . like being able to lay on the floor (belly down) with my LO, and being able to twist/turn and pick things up like I normally do.

  35. Pirouette

    pomegranate / 3331 posts

    @MrsKerch: thinking of you today!!!

@pwnstar: I go back and forth on it too. I'm excited to pop earlier than the 3rd tri this time, but at the same time, can't help but think how much harder everything will be with a belly!

so, the day has finally arrived...a half day at work and then it's SPA WEEKEND!!! so happy! although i just found out DH has to go on a business trip right after my appt on monday, which is fine if all goes well at my appt, but not so fine if things don't go well and I'm alone that night. But i'm less worried knowing I have you ladies to lean on no matter what happens

  36. pwnstar

    pear / 1718 posts

@Pirouette: That's so exciting! Sending you tons of relaxing-no-worries-bob-marley-ish (if that's your jam!) vibes!

The belly . . . I go back and forth too. *sigh* My LO loves to sit in my lap . . every time she does I wonder how much longer she will fit. I don't want to take anything away from her unless/until it's absolutely necessary!

Anyone else planning a babymoon/ trip? My DH wants the two of us to go to Europe, which sounds WONDERFUL, but I can't even describe the amount of anxiety I have about leaving my LO with anyone for a few days. I have left her overnight and for several days, but she has always been with DH while I am gone. I don't know. I have trust issues on both sides of the family with grandparents (it's a long story, and has gotten better over time, but the amount of time we would be gone makes me nervous), but if we don't go now, we won't be able to go for another couple of years. My thought is to go during the week so that LO can go to daycare and the grandparents will only have her in the morning and at night . . . ? *augh* I have such a hard time letting go.

@pwnstar: we are planning a short trip! Probably a long weekend. I'd love to go longer but I want to use as little PTO as possible. Our schedule for the spring is kind of crazy, though. We're doing a weekend trip in mid-February to visit my family for my grandma's 90th birthday, then a weekend trip in late March to visit my DH's grandma and extended family, and then our babymoon probably in mid to late April. I wish we could go a bit later, but my H can't really travel because of work from end of April through June. I've been thinking somewhere like Charleston, SC, though we're still mulling it over.

Europe sounds fabulous -- we went to Greece for 10 days last summer and it was absolutely amazing. I understand your hesitation, especially with the trust issues you mention. But I hope you guys can work it out! At the very least, you should totally do an extended weekend trip somewhere, just to get some time to yourselves.

Also, can I just say I'm SO GLAD tomorrow is Friday? We've been having some personnel issues this week (with one staff member in particular). It's been really frustrating and I think may come to a head in a not great way today, so I'm just ready to be done with this week.

I woke up craving a bagel today! All that bagel talk got to me!

@pwnstar: we just booked baby moon 1 of 2, we are going to Disneyland next month with DD, we want to celebrate her too on this process, and I want to be able to enjoy it too, so I'll be 16 weeks, but it's a good time for us to go and take her. We'll do a beach vacation in May that I'm already dreaming of- mocktails, books, feeling weightless in the pool!
