@dcw6411: Do we plan to move -- that is the million-dollar question (though not literally, we're not that fancy ) We (and our three cats) currently live in what is referred to as a "two-bedroom" apartment, but really one of the bedrooms is an open loft with a bathroom and closet. So basically one normal bedroom and one loft bedroom. I would like more space and at least two full, enclosed bedrooms, but our lease ends in August...not a great time to move at this point, haha. We're getting close to being ready to buy a house, but not sure if we're QUITE there yet, at least in the neighborhood we'd like. We've been spoiled by living in an apartment in a great neighborhood right in the city, so of course house prices here are crazy. It probably wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to be in what is essentially a one-bedroom with a baby for a little while -- I'm assuming the baby will be in our room for a bit regardless. But basically, that's a rambling way to say I'd like to move but not sure how feasible it is. We're definitely considering it, though. As for your situation, growing up my sister and I each had our own bedroom, but we shared a room by choice for much of our lives. If you love your house and neighborhood, I don't think having two kids share is a bad idea!
@Pirouette: welcome and congrats!!
@mrschickpea: aww, yay, looks great!
As a side note, my H told me today that his coworker's wife is pregnant! That means every possible person in his small office will be having a baby within a year. Five babies! I think everyone is just going to laugh when we announce because it's so crazy. My friend whose husband works with my husband actually texted me today to say that at first she guessed it was me who was pregnant (her husband had her guess before he told her). So it'll be so fun to tell her a bit later!

@dcw6411: Your betas were at 37, 000 at 5 weeks?!?! Oh my gosh! Do you know if there are twins are not? I had three beta tests done at my last one was at 2,753 and I was at about 5 weeks, and I thought mine was great. But yours is outstanding and blows mine out of the water! Add one more thing to ask my doctor about tomorrow. Hahah.
apricot / 382 posts
@agold: It isn't a good thing according to my doctor. People's betas can definitely range greatly, but the concern with mine was they were SO high and all we were seeing was a sac and a yolk sac. Since then we have seen a heartbeat, so that is good, but my doc basically prepared me for the possibility of this ending in miscarriage. He said, "to be honest, this will be a miracle baby,. Unfortunately, when I have seen beta's this high with un-matching development, it has almost always ended with an MC." I appreciate his honesty, I needed to hear it, but it is definitely why I continue to be on edge. So far with 2 scans it only showed one.
Your betas sound perfect and exactly what he said mine should have been!
@mrschickpea: Awe, sweet little one! Yay!!!!

@dcw6411: we're moving! We have been trying to purchase a new home since June and we finally closed a month ago. We're getting a few extensions and renovations done before moving in but we have only 4 weeks left before we give our current home up. So basically we (Me, DH and 20 month old DS) will be bunking with SIL for a couple weeks before we move in, hopefully by March. I could honestly cry thinking about it, but right now we're toppling over each other since we live in a 2 bedroom home and run a retail store from home.
@agold: thanks! Will be praying for you too! We've told all our friends and family already too for the same reason.
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@dcw6411: Oh well shoot. I'm so sorry. I didn't even realize that. I thought high betas would be good but I didn't consider the findings of the ultrasound. I'm so glad you have since seen a heartbeat! Phew!

@MrsSCB: thanks! We lived in an apartment for lo's 1st year and then moved to a more family friendly area just before she was a year, because she really didn't need space before that!

@Glitter: Good luck with your move! It does sound stressful now, but it sounds like you will be better off when it is all over. I am glad you found something that will give your family some more space.

@dcw6411: Lurking! But Congrats on #3! So your DH got tested once and proved the procedure a success? Is it normal to have to confirm it more than once so there aren't oops?
pomelo / 5257 posts
@Pirouette: That is good to hear, I think we may end up doing something similar to that! I feel like even after six months or so we'll be in a better position to buy (we've been saving steadily). Plus my husband is working on a three-year contract that will end sometime in the beginning of the summer, so if he doesn't renew, I'm not sure we'll even stay here. So many changes happening!

@T.H.O.U.: He got tested and it came back showing one alive, but non viable, sperm. His doctor said he should be good to go. That was at 4 months post vasectomy. 2 months later and I am pregnant! Craziness! He was retested and the exact same result was found. The doctor said he has only had this happen one previous time, so it doesn't seem to be a common issue. He will go back at the end of January for another test. It seems to have worked, but somehow, at least the month I got pregnant some still slipped through. I will say that during his actual procedure my husband had some difficulties and the doctor had to stop and then re-start. I have wondered if that played a role in the outcome.

@pregnantbee: I guess that it was implantation bleeding? But it seemed so normal-ish, albeit arriving early and being a little short. I was having headaches (migraines) and feeling nauseated as well (still am!), but I almost always get sick to my stomach when I get migraines, and the tests I took were negative, so I thought they migraines were just migraines. Until my test told me it wasn't just a migraine! As Homer Simpson would say, Doh!
@mrschickpea: beautiful!

@MrsSCB: yes, lots of changes! I think moving with a young baby is less stressful than moving pregnant somehow, I guess it just felt like too much change while pregnant, but once lo was here, it felt like a natural move. Not sure if it makes sense, but it did in my head!

Nausea is taking over my life! Nothing helped with DS but I'm willing to try anything again. Has anything helped you ladies ??

@Pirouette: makes sense to me! At least I would be able to move stuff freely, and I'm sure our friends would help watch the baby while we move

@dcw6411: No moving here, thank god. We bought a new and very spacious house less than a year and a half ago. We used to live in a small 2 bedroom townhouse that was a pain in the ass with a baby. We moved when DS was 8 months old. I love that we have so much more room now I think this house will be so much easier with a newborn than our last one.

@Glitter: I've ordered some ginger capsules. A midwife at the practice I go to said taking 1000 mg a day can help. Fresh air is the only thing that really helps me feel better right now. And sipping ginger ale, especially while I eat food, or right after.

Oh gees. I starting having lower stomach cramps while folding laundry just a few minutes ago. I dreaded going to the bathroom and my fears were validated - I'm bleeding bright red now. I'm on so much progesterone that there's just no way this can be happening. I'm totally miscarrying. my husband is at work and I'm so stupid that I don't even know how to get ahold of him. Ugh. I'll be devastated to lose this pregnancy and that's just compounded by the fact that I've gone through so much pain, effort and expense thus far to even get to this point. At least I don't have to wait long for a doctors appointment since I go in early tomorrow. And we are leaving right after the appointment to go out of town for New Years. Could be a really shitty day for me.

@HLK208: thanks. I was able to reach my husband and he's coming home right now. I feel so stupid for even joining this due date thread and looking and cribs and whatnot. But I'm still praying for a miracle.
