As of right now, we aren't finding out -- it's our 3rd (and last), and we found out with both the first two, so I'm going different this time Unless I change my mind by 20w, haha.

We had another ultrasound yesterday, baby is measuring almost a week ahead! Heartbeat was nice and strong too.

We are definitely finding out. I'm a planner. I need to know if the boy clothes I already have will work or if I need to go shopping!

Hi All! Looking to join in on the conversation. Hope everyone is feeling well so far!

    Location: PA

    EDD: December 5, 2016

How far along: 12 weeks 2 days

First child? No, I have a December '13 DS! This baby is due the day before his birthday (yeah, we have great timing).

First doctor appointment: First ultrasound was May 9th and baby was measuring on track with 160bpm

Any symptoms so far? Morning sickness is so.much.worse this time.

Who have you told? DH, DS, parents, siblings and work recently because I can't hide this bump anymore!

    @Jpickle: @tjlove54: Welcome!

@tjlove54: I am thinking I might need to tell at work soon because of the bump too. Hoping to wait one more week if I can manage.

@KT326: Congrats on a great ultrasound!

@tjlove54: @catlady: I'm only 9 weeks and my son's daycare teacher called me out on it last night at pick up! I'm having such a hard time hiding the bloat this time around.

@KT326: Oh man, that stinks. Did you admit it? Three different pregnancies now, people have randomly asked me when I was around 5 or 6 weeks (and definitely not showing, so I have no idea why they asked). I have lied every time!

  8. KT326

    pomegranate / 3438 posts

@catlady: I did, she actually already knew. We told my son early on and he didn't keep it to himself.

So I'm waiting for my Dr appointment right now - is it rude to put your feet up on the other chairs? These waiting room chairs are so uncomfortable, and I'm so bloated today that I really just want my feet up. Thoughts?

    kiwi / 706 posts

@swurlygurl: No, it's not rude! You're pregnant! Unless you took the last empty chair and there's a 9-month pregnant lady standing.

I'm having my blood draw for MaterniT21 on Friday and NT Scan in 2 weeks. Things seem to be happening so fast now!

Glad to hear everyone is doing so well. I finally am getting seen next Tuesday. They like to do the first appointment here at 10 wks or a few days after. I convinced them to let me in a few days early as DH leaves end of next week on deployment. So I am anxious to get a peak at baby.

I was sooo bloated and really feeling symptoms. Now, nothing. I actually feel pretty normal. Which is weird. I am not worried, ok maybe a little. But I haven't seen baby yet so I am just feeling more anxious now to see that everything is OK. I know I should just embrace feeling so good and my clothes fitting OK. Where before the bloat was so bad I felt I was needing to bust out my maternity clothes already. Ugh! Can it be next Tuesday already?

@Rescuemom10: I read and heard that symptoms subside around week 10 because hcg levels starts tapering off.

@marley: true. Its just so different this time around. Just has me questioning EVERYTHING because its so far so unlike my last.
Thank you. I needed that reality check. I am just.so.anxious!

  14. marley

    kiwi / 706 posts

@Rescuemom10: I totally get the anxiety. I overanalyze every little pull and tug and twinge. My google search history is insanity!

  15. tjlove54

    cherry / 101 posts

@catlady: I would have liked to make it another week but there was no way! I didn't tell work until 15 weeks last pregnancy but this one I swear once those pink lines popped up my belly popped out!

@KT326: I can't believe daycare called you out on it! Our daycare teachers didn't say anything, but when my son wore his big brother shirt to school they shouted "we knew it!". My son and I take a parent/child swim class and the swim teacher totally called me out on it. I mean, it is more noticeable in a bathing suit, but I still felt awkward when I said I'm only 12 weeks.

@rescuemom10 @marley: I totally get the anxiety too. Every little cramp/twinge I feel I'm like "I don't remember that last time". Hopefully the long weekend goes by quickly before your appointment!

So happy its almost the weekend. I kept thinking all day yesterday it was Friday. Today is going to be rough! Haha

I waited until around 15 weeks to tell work last time. I think I am going to tell them next week after my first appointment if all looks good. I will only be 10 weeks. But man I feel ready to be in maternity clothes. Which FLOORS me to feel the need to be in them so early this time around. Im down to like 2 pairs of jeans that fit "OK".

Who else has busted out the maternity clothes?

  17. marley

    kiwi / 706 posts

@Rescuemom10: I haven't bought any maternity clothes yet but I busted out my bellaband for all of my pants and jeans. I'm also running out of flowy dresses since I usually wear fit and flare. My waist has disappeared!

Question on maternity dresses. (I didn't buy any the first tie around and stuck with regular maxis.) Are they super long in the front to compensate for the bump? If so, does it mean it's too early to wear them?

So turns out I will have the NT scan/1st trimester screening for sure and may be given the option of MaterniT21 as well. Because I am AMA and on blood thinners and had the vanishing twin, the NP and OB decided it would be better for me to have an early US with MFM in the coming weeks.

I've been rocking some maternity pants here and there, but since I am a SAHM, I can get away with keeping the pants unbuttoned too! I have a bunch of regular maxi dresses that will work great over the summer, I think. Yes, maternity dresses don't work for me until way later in my pregnancy. But maternity skirts/maxi skirts work!

  19. KT326

    pomegranate / 3438 posts

@Rescuemom10: my slacks for work stopped fitting around 3 weeks ago at 7 weeks (tbh, they were tight to begin with). I bought a pair of maternity slacks and have been wearing dresses and maxi skirts with flowy cardigans to hide the belly.

I told my boss, only because the morning sickness was really bad and we have a lot of planning to do for my maternity leave. I really want to wait a couple more weeks until I tell everyone else but I'm so tired of trying to hide it!

I had my NT scan today. Baby was moving around a ton. DH and I got worried because the tech took forever to get the neck measurements and kept doing them over and over again, and then was gone for a long time to get a doctor. But I think the tech just had trouble since baby was moving so much. The dr said everything looked good so now just waiting for MaterniT21 results. The dr also guessed that it's a boy! We'll find out soon if she was right. I don't have much intuition of my own this time.

I think I'll be needing maternity pants from here on out too. Just took them all out of storage. Still hoping I can hold out until 14 weeks to announce though.

Hope you all have a great long weekend!

@swurlygurl: I love the sign! What a cute pic!

I have my first u/s today. I am so anxious.
DH leaves Thursday. I think we will announce then. Its earlier this time. But DH wants people to know with him leaving and what not, and is telling work if all looks good after today's appointment.

    So how was everyone's weekend?

    @Rescuemom10: good luck today!

I was battling a cold this weekend. I guess it gave me a reason to just stay in and relax? I think I always try to do too much when it's a long weekend.

I had a blood draw for the MaterniT21 test today. It's going to be a long 2 weeks.

Hey ladies. Sorry I got tied up after our appointment. Hubby leaves tomorrow and lots of last minute packing and laundry before deployment.

It went well. Baby looks good. Measuring about 4-5 days ahead. But keeping due date as is. They are putting in a referral to see if I am a good candidate for a VBAC. Fingers crossed. Not sure when that is yet. Waiting for all the stuff to go through and then have to go to a different hospital.

Had an appointment this AM. Baby was moving all over the place!!So much more active than LO1.
Things look good. Went for M21 draw. They stuck me 4 times before they could get blood and then they took 12 vials. Now im eating chips.

    Who's feeling their baby?

I'm 12 weeks tomorrow, and have been feeling baby for a while. Last night I fell asleep enjoying feeling baby swimming around

I felt #1 at 12 weeks, and #2 at something crazy like 20 weeks. Glad I'm back to feeling baby move early!

  33. swurlygurl

    honeydew / 7091 posts

@wheres_c: What is the M21 test for? I feel like by my 3rd pregnancy I should know these things... haha.

I've always just turned down all testing, because my SIL kept getting false positives on all her tests, and spent the remainder of her 3 pregnancies freaking out over nothing, because her babies came out perfect.

    pomegranate / 3438 posts

    @Rescuemom10: That's great!

@swurlygurl: I think I have felt a few flutters, I am around 10.5, almost 11 weeks. I can't wait to feel more movement!

  35. catlady

    grapefruit / 4988 posts

@Rescuemom10: Congrats on a good scan!

@swurlygurl: I've been able to feel mine occasionally for maybe a week or so. I'm 13 weeks today. Although sometimes I'm not sure if it's gas! But I like to think it's the baby. Btw, I'm not wheres_c, but the MaterniT21 test is one of the newer tests that looks at fetal DNA floating around the mom's blood stream and screens for genetic disorders (the trisomies and a couple that affect X and Y). It will also tell you the baby's sex early.

  36. wheres_c

    pomelo / 5789 posts

@swurlygurl: yup, like what @catlady said, it's genetic testing. We are choosing not to know the gender - but it does determine gender as well as screen for chromosome disorders.
I like information so a screening like this would allow me to mentally prepare, should there be any issues. I would like to think it wouldnt change the outcome of my pregnancy.

It's gonna be hard though knowing that we have a definitive gender and not wanting to find out!

I am soooooooooo tired! I'm about 11 weeks, and I'm just so tired all the time.

I've been wearing maternity pants for about 2 weeks. I'm trying to hide it until as late as possible, but a co-worker came up to me yesterday and said " you're starting to show". I feel like I didn't start showing with my first until about 16-18 weeks or so.

  38. KayKay

    pear / 1961 posts

@swurlygirl: no definite movement here yet. a few things i wonder if they are, but honestly it seems too high to be the baby at this point, so probably just gas

NT scan on Tuesday went great; measurements were normal and waiting on IPS blood results next week. Little bug was squirming all over and waving. 2 arms, 2 legs, 10 fingers and 10 toes...so all looking good so far.

I felt flutters a few days ago. Definitely movement because it is always in the same spot. Today was funny.

I felt my tummy rumbling, I felt gas in another placd, and felt flutters in the same spot as before. I don't feel baby everyday, only when he or she gets really excited and it's usually only when I'm very still.

@wheres_c: jumping in from November. I did the NIPT too and have decided not to find out the gender. It's been tough because we have had a few appointments with our genetic counsellor and I know she finds it hard not to accidently
spill the beans since she knows the results. I just really love the surprise. Best wishes on healthy results, hope it doesn't take long. My Panorama results took 8 days.
