@wallaroo - OMG!! one girl & boy?? That's so awesome!! I think if I had twins, that would be the combination I would want as well!

@lilteacherbee: Thank you for updating us and I'm glad you were able to have some closure. Good luck with your new journey ((hugs))
@Phillybaby2013: you look great! lovely bump photo.
@LOLABEE: Fellow canadian over here! where are you from?
@Emilie: a girl!! so exciting! I won't be having my gender scan for another week but people say that I look like I'm carrying a girl (wider belly/less pointy?) Did you have a hunch before you found out?
@wallaroo: I loved your gender reveal idea! Congrats on having a boy and a girl! The best combo, in my opinion
Ladies, have you been feeling any round ligament pain or sciatica? I have a numbing feeling in my left arm, joint pain in my right leg and what feels like my uterus is expanding. It affects me the most when I'm sleeping, so I've been having a few restless nights
kiwi / 520 posts
@WALLAROO: Woohoo!! One of each! That's the best! So happy for u and love ur pics of the babes.
@Mrs. Lantern: i think I've had sciatica but it hasn't been bothering me this week. I do get lil zings around my groin area every now and again (round ligament pain?). My uterus definitely feels firmer now and more full especially down low.
pomelo / 5331 posts
@lolabee: Congrats! We registered at BRU and Amazon
@wallaroo: Wahoo! And OMG, those onesies! Where did you get those?!
@Mrs. Lantern: No sciatica yet, but I've had near constant RLP since I was around 10 weeks. It sucks! Lately it's calmed down some but now it hurts worse than it did before when I move or sneeze. So it's less constant, but more painful *shrug*
It's so exciting though, I have been feeling him move around every day since Saturday! It's not very strong yet, but it's definitely the baby now and not "maybe gas." He's most active after I eat or drink juice/soda (Sprite's my vice)

I forgot to mention that I started feeling taps yesterday when I was laying on the table during my ultrasound. I don't know if it was just seeing their movement and being able to associate it with the sensations I was feeling or what. But I continued to feel the taps throughout the evening and today.
@Mrs. Lantern: No sciatica but some round ligament pain.
@ladyfingers: We got the onesies from this baby boutique store near Pike Place Market. It was more than I would normally spend for a onesie but we figured since this was our first purchase we would splurge and make a memory out of it.

Congrats on everyone finding out! I can't wait!
Is anyone short torso-ed and measuring big? I had an appointment today and the dr said I was measuring big and they may move up my due date at my A/S but I am pretty sure about my conception date. I have a feeling I am just one of those women whose preggo belly will start right under my boobs because I am short with a fairly short torso. I think she was also influenced because I said I'd been feeling movement for 2 weeks and she thought that was pretty early for a first timer, but I'm not sure that has anything to do with it.
For reference my uterus is an inch at least above my belly button at a 17 weeks 4 days.
RE sciatica and RLP - yes to both!! I have to get up so slowly otherwise I double over with a RLP cramp! Sleeping with pillow between my knees and stretching really helps sciatica.
pomelo / 5331 posts
I'm short-torsoed and my doc hasn't started measuring me yet, but to me, I seem big compared with women around my same time along (19 weeks). Interesting!
Re: RLP, does anybody else feel like they can't really "stretch out" in bed? I have to be in the fetal position, even if I'm on my side, I feel pain and discomfort if my legs are straight out.
kiwi / 662 posts
@JessiBee: Are you in Canada as well? I figure the good thing about the 20 week mark is everything will be very defined Good luck with yours, share your pic when you have it!
@Mrs. Lantern: Hi! I am in Winnipeg, I'll go out on a limb and guess you're in BC, AB or ON?! I have been feeling the RLP at times and suffered from sciatica previous to getting pregnant, as soon as I found out I started going to a pregnancy massage specialist and she has worked wonders! I go once a month, would highly recommend it if you are in pain. The therapist said regular sessions will help keep everything in good working order to help during labor as well, I figure it can't hurt! I also just started sleeping with the Snoogle...amazingly comfortable.
@WALLAROO: So exciting!!! Congratulations on your twins, gorgeous onesies! I had my fingers and toes crossed for twins, alas, we've got one strong lil heart beat which I am very thankful for! I started feeling what I'd describe as little waves, just since Friday so I am still double guessing myself. How many weeks along are you?
@JerricaBenton: Very interesting to know the differences in each woman, I would say I have a longer torso but my uterus is still measuring about 4 inches (or so) below my belly button and I am 17 weeks 2 days! I do believe I could be a bit behind my "due date" though due to longer cycles but they don't take that into consideration.
pomegranate / 3872 posts
@ladyfingers: My doctor just measured using her hands - and I suspected it was high because I've tried to feel for it myself and I definitely felt like it was above my belly button.
@lolabee: I'm totally cracking up because I think I only have 4 or *maybe* 5 inches from my belly button to my pubic bone. I don't want to measure now because I'll cry over my extreme short torso-ness It is interesting to see how different builds carry. Last weekend my dad was like, 'whoa you're not even halfway and look at you!' haha.

Hey ladies.... We are officially on Team BLUE!!! Ultrasound went well but we may have to have another bc the tech said she didn't get a good shot of all four chambers of the heart due to baby being feet down and squirmy. These reasons also made for difficulty getting a good profile shot but it was amazing watch her scan and see everything. At one point the baby looked like he was chewing gum and then he put both arms over his head like he was relaxing away. Too funny. We are so excited and I want to go buy everything!!

i feel like i'm SO behind with everyone's updates! congrats on all of the awesome anatomy scans. i think we need to do a chart a la the ttc board with everyone's genders, so we can keep track. that might be fun?!
@JerricaBenton: i'm super short torso'd... well, i'm super short everything, but i feel like i'm the opposite. i am carrying super low. it's like mostly belly button down right now. i almost feel like i have one of those fatty-fanny packs that old men get! haha.
@ladyfingers: i'm already having major trouble sleeping. if i sleep on one side for longer than 45 minutes to an hour i get major RLP and sore, sore hips! i have been tossing and turning all night for the past week.
kiwi / 733 posts
@WALLAROO: @Emilie: Thanks! When my scan (eventually!) gets closer, I'll confirm the full bladder thing. I really, really hope it's not required. I could barely do it for the 12-week one, and I feel like it would be even harder now!
@lolabee: I'm not in Canada, I guess I just have a doctor who prefers to be more conservative about timing. I also have a crazy work schedule in the couple of weeks leading up to that, so I wasn't pushing for an earlier appointment, although now I kind of wish I had!
@photojane: SO TRUE! I kind of love how maternity clothes make me look like I have an adorable bump...rather than a big lunch.
pomelo / 5331 posts
I always show up with a full bladder and then they tell me to use the bathroom lol. I went in at 16 weeks, and then today (19 weeks) for cervical measurements, which they have to do transvaginally. So since she's doing that and my anatomy scan today, I have no idea if she wants me to pee first or to do the anatomy scan then pee then TV... so complicated!
cantaloupe / 6164 posts
so, here's what we know so far for gender...
ladyfingers: team blue!
baby boy mom: team blue!
lolagreen: team green!
emilie: team pink!
wallaroo: team pink & team blue!!
phillybaby2013: team blue!
looks like team blue is winning so far! can't wait 'til we can add everyone on here.
kiwi / 520 posts
@photojane: We should do one with due dates too so we can keep track of everyone as it gets closer.
kiwi / 711 posts
@ladyfingers: She did a cervical measurement for me as well at my anatomy scan which was TV. So I emptied my bladder prior to the anatomy scan then AGAIN right before the TV. I didn't even know there was anything to empty but lo and behold there was. Good luck at your scan today!
@photojane: Yay! I love keeping track. I agree with @Phillybaby2013: suggestion to add EDD as we get closer. This is so exciting!
cherry / 144 posts
@photojane - thanks for putting up the chart! WOW - team blue is definitely winning! I definitely agree with others that adding edd would be really helpful!
I JUST felt little taps for the first time from my little baby girl last night at 18 weeks and 2 days. In my ultrasound on Monday, I saw her with her arms above her head and legs completely stretched out like she was relaxing in a hammock - it looked like she had so much room in there to just move around as she pleased!
@JerricaBenton - I'm short torsoed, but I'm measuring a few days small (about 5 days). But, the doc said that based on my size and my husband's size, it's normal.
@Phillybaby2013 - congrats on being team blue!!!
@Mrs. Lantern - I didn't have a hunch beforehand, but apparently there were lots of hints that I would be having a boy? I had a dream a few days before the scan that I had a baby boy. My husband's grandmother said that it would definitely be a boy based on my face or something.. apparently this was the first time she was wrong in a WHILE, because she accurately predicted the genders of a bunch of family members. She was kind of shocked when we told her i was a girl! Then, my sister-in-law said that all of her friends who had girls had crazy acne breakouts and my skin has actually been a bit better than it was pre-pregnancy, so she thought team blue as well!
It's all so exciting though. My parents have four grandsons and this will be their first granddaughter

@photojane: Thanks for doing this -- mine's actually Feb 3 though! (Originally, Fertility Friend said it was Feb 8 because it knew when I O'ed, but my "official" doctor-given EDD is Feb 3 lol)
We had a great anatomy scan, little bean is doing awesome, has all his parts and no extras, and everything is measuring perfectly! I'm so proud of him He did lots of fun tricks, like curling up with his knees to his face and stretching out with his back arched up. It was so cool to see the heart up close, the brain, all his limbs individually and everything!

@ladyfingers: so great about your a/s! i can't wait to see photobaby do tricks. i fixed your edd, too.

So I apparently have a cold. I feel awful. My left ear is completely clogged and im very congested. I've been in a such a daze all day. On top of it I've been training a new person for a job that isn't even mine but that I know how to do and then got pulled to cover another area for lunch. I didn't have a snack this morning like usual bc i was busy so I was literally pale and shaking by the time I got to go to lunch. Cmom Friday. : (

@ladyfingers: Yay for a great scan. Don't you just love seeing our babies' activities?
@photojane: Can you adjust my EDD too? My official EDD from my doctor is 2/9. Thanks for keeping track of everyone
@Phillybaby2013: I agree. I can't believe we are finding out genders now. Those first few weeks of the first trimester sure did drag on but now we just seem to keep moving along at a swift pace. Sorry to hear about your rough morning and your cold
I attempted a 3 mile run yesterday but it turned into a run/walk. I definitely can't run much anymore because I start feeling pressure/soreness in my pubic bone. Looks like it is just walking and Crossfit for now.

@Phillybaby2013 - what a cute cake!!
@ladyfingers - glad you had a great anatomy scan too!
Ok everyone, I had the WORST cramp in my left calf early this morning, and I was just saying "omg omg omg omg" and my husband was freaking out until I told him I had a leg cramp, and so he tried to stretch out my leg heel first. My calf felt like a rock! The pain went away after about 30 seconds or so, but my calf was sore for the next couple of hours.
I had gotten those whattoexpect.com emails regarding leg cramps during pregnancy, but I never knew they would hurt like this!! I had read that drinking more water, bananas, or gatorade at night might help. If this happens more often, it's a pretty scary thought! Has this happened to any of you yet?
cantaloupe / 6164 posts
@WALLAROO: i'm impressed by your attempt! i couldn't even run 3 miles straight before i was pregnant!
@Phillybaby2013: hope you're feeling better! super cute cake. we're doing cupcakes on thursday once we find out wednesday. i'm excited.
@Emilie: these charlie horses have happened to me my entire life. i'll wake up in the middle of the night with the worst pain, and if i get up and walk on it, it works it out. i know the pain you're talking about for sure! oddly enough, i haven't had any since becoming pregnant! my legs pain has mostly been focused on my hips and inner thighs.
pomelo / 5331 posts
@Phillybaby2013: Adorable!
I have had the WORST allergies the past few days. It is awful! I sneezed seriously 30 times at the grocery store yesterday... could not have been more embarrassing. My doctor's list of approved medications doesn't say anything about any allergy meds, so I don't even know if I can take any! Not that they usually help me anyway
But the worst part about the sneeze attack was almost every time I sneezed, I peed a little! omg wtf.

@Phillybaby2013: What a cute cake!
@Emilie: I have had that calf cramp once so far in the middle of the night and ouch does it hurt. It also was sore the next day.
@ladyfingers: I have had some allergies and congestion right when I wake up.
I had a great weekend. My step-sister came up to visit this weekend and brought two San Diego Chargers onesies for the babies. DH wasn't too impressed since he is a Seattle Seahawks fan :).
kiwi / 520 posts
@Emilie: ur cramps sound terrible! I read somewhere too that they are common in pregnancy but luckily I haven't had anything like that yet. From what I know it's from a lack of potassium hence the bananas. I do have restless leg like cramps but they don't hurt just annoying.
@ladyfingers: i have bad allergies too and take Zyrtec on a daily basis which was okayd by my doctor. Claritin is also on the safe list. I've been sick and have been taking one benadryl at night to help and liquid guaffinessin during the day to keep my chest from getting too yucky. All okay. Have u ever tried using a neti pot for ur allergies? I use mine when I'm sick but I've heard using it once a day helps keeps allergies at bay.
pomelo / 5331 posts
@Phillybaby2013: Yeah the neti pot really works! But I always forget to use it until I'm having an attack, usually at work or a public place.

@ValentineMommy: Welcome and congratulations! Good luck with your scan tomorrow and hope baby cooperates
I'm feeling a lot more movement lately. Mostly when I'm sitting at my desk at work. DH and I are starting to seriously consider names. It is fun. We are going to keep the names a secret from family and friends until they are born to ward off any unsolicited advice/comments about their names. Are you guys keeping it a secret or sharing?
grapefruit / 4669 posts
@WALLAROO: I think we're planning to keep ours a secret from friends and family, but the official line will be "we haven't decided on a name yet." I don't want to have to argue about it or explain myself, even though I know people will keep asking questions either way.
pomelo / 5791 posts
@WALLAROO: Thanks! We shared the names. We also don't care if anyone likes them or not though, lol. Once we started sharing them, I can totally see the appeal of NOT sharing, however. I'm starting to feel movement at my desk too! I've been feeling movement only while laying in bed up until now!
