@AuntieEm: Small meals! Don't eat too much or you'll feel worse. Hope it eases up soon--I'm right there with you.

@erinpye: it's amazing, no matter how much or how often I eat, I have constant burning hunger pangs! I might feel satisfied for like 15 mins and then I feel hungry again, and hence nauseous. Had this last time too and it suuuucked. But I'll take it for a little bebe in the end

@AuntieEm: that's happening to me now too! I woke up almost in pain because I was so hungry, and then not long after, I was painfully hungry AGAIN!

I am on my rooftop in NY waiting for the Macy's fireworks show (with a perfect view of the Empire State Building) and everyone around me is drinking beer and champagne. I want one so bad! Not complaining, just saying Happy Fourth!

@AuntieEm: awww that looks soo nice!

So today was a long but fun day except for when one of my cousins passed out and scared the crap out of me. Also this morning started off with a lot of nausea and a little throwing up but I was pass that by the middle of the day. But we had a big cookout at my moms and dads house with lots of family including DH mom and brother and his girlfriend and my dad sister who I haven't seen in almost a year and of course my moms first thing was like tell her the good news lol so now all my family knows and been asking me how I'm doing all day and two of my cousins that knew about the miscarriage in march where like "oh let us throw your babyshower" lol and I'm like I'm only 8 weeks as of today but it was nice and fun just seeing and being around family❤ now I'm soo ready for Monday to check on my little bean and be able to hear the HB!

Hope the rest of you ladies had just as great of a day as me and my family HAPPY INDEPENDENTS DAY to you all and be safe

So I had my dating ultrasound today and it all looks good! Definitely only one little bean in there, uterus in full on prep phase and my little shrimpy hanging off the side. Heartbeat nice and strong too. We're measuring 6w4 when I am almost certain we're 6w6, but what's a couple of days? I think it was really good for DH to be there - until now, he's just had to put up with his wife being all moody and tired and today it became a little more real for him that he's going to be a daddy.

Had my first encounter with spotting this morning. I've heard, read, been told its all normal but when I actually saw it you can't help but be scared.

Im keeping an eye on it the rest of the day. Other than that I feel really good.

@Danizaur: oh ok that's good it stopped I'm 8w4d but I haven't experienced it this time just the first time when I wind up M/C and it was very scary and nerve wrecking but I've been praying not to go thur that again

Hey ladies! Back from the beach!

We had our first appt this morning! It was a little bit different than normal bc I had already gone in bc of the spotting. So, I didn't have another pelvic exam, which I was glad about. I did have blood drawn (6 tubes--yikes!) and a breast exam. Dating US is next Thursday, the 18th. They keep telling me my DD is February 6th, but I know they are wrong! I know when I ovulated. We did get to hear the heart beat though on the doppler! It was really amazing, and beating so fast. No more spotting since the last time, which has been such a relief.

The bad news... I have gained FIVE POUNDS!! Oh my goodness I was shocked when I stepped on the scale. The midwife told me that some women's bodies just want to gain weight while pregnant, so I probably need to be careful she said. Ive been a bit constipated so I dont think Ive actually gained a true 5 lbs, but it still is disconcerting haha!

Overall we are super happy with our appt. The language at the clinic and the general attitude from our midwife has been very encouraging and open to med-free birth and pro-breastfeeding. DH and I know some of it is out of our hands but we want the opportunity to try and to not feel stupid or guilty about it. We are very excited about choosing to be a patient there!

Hoping everyone had a great 4th!

@SweetMamaM: Glad you had a good appt!! I wonder if they will adjust how far along you are at your next appt? 6-7 weeks is still early so maybe you are right!

@AuntieEm: So jealous of that gorgeous view of the ESB! I used to live in NYC and miss it so much!!

@SweetMamaM: Hooray for a good scan and seeing the heartbeat!

    @IcebergMom: How cool is that!

@citymouse: Really glad to hear that you like your clinic and everything seems to be going well (sorry about the 5 pounds but I have a feeling that's probably all water!!!)

Hope everyone in the US had a great 4th!!! DH and I were at the beach and I came back with a lovely burn but we had a great time! And thanks to @Springtime:'s MS thread, I finally tried the B6/Unisom trick and I have felt so much better!

Had a great appt this morning and got to see and hear the heart beat which was 162 per min wow lol but it was great and baby is growing right on point and I go Thursday for blood work sigh which I hate but got to do.

Also DH is so happy and excited that's all he's been talking about since we left this morning he say its really amazing.

@citymouse: at my appt this morning I was told the same and have gain 5lbs also and was told to try not to go over 20 for the whole pregnancy which if I could help it I wouldn't go over 5 lol

@citymouse @honeygold: Glad to hear that your appointments went so well! I cannot wait until my appointment, but am very concerned about the weigh gain! I have been fairly steadily working out and personally monitoring my weight (if we are to stay on track with the weight gain doctors tell us we should gain)!

How is everyone feeling lately? Still same ol' fatigue and obnoxious cramping. FX on no morning sickness yet!

  31. Honeygold89

    nectarine / 2527 posts

@MSBartlett: still fatigue and now morning sickness is picking up along with my abdominal feeling like its stretching and of course sore breast and hungry it seem as everything is in full effect now lol

  32. SweetiePie

    honeydew / 7463 posts

@Danizaur: ugh sorry you had to experience that but glad it was short lived!

@IcebergMom: that is so cool!!! 2 of my good friends are also ttc and I really hope we all come out as pregnant at the same time

@citymouse: What a great welcome home! So glad it went well I'm also concerned about weight gain. I think I've gained 1 lb so far but my appetite had been voracious so we'll see what happens I'm a small person with a flat tummy but I feel like I look down now and see a pooch. Hoping its early signs of my growing uterus and not chub

@Honeygold89: Awwww yay! So glad you got to hear the little heartbeat. Did it look much different? I should be around the same timing for my next U/S and I can't wait to see what it looks like (I still call it an 'it' haha. I'm a bad mom already )

@MSBartlett: I feel like now I'm experiencing symptoms galore. I was worried I'd felt nothing and then right at 7 weeks MS (mostly when I need to eat), sore boobs, constipation, crazy-woman mood swings, fatigue...everything just hit at once. But I'm not complaining

  33. SweetiePie

    honeydew / 7463 posts

Oh and I'm craving seafood more than any other protein. Chicken in particular isn't appealing. I'm not a huge seafood person normally so it's weird for me (but I am being careful as I know too much can be bad).

  34. citymouse

    persimmon / 1116 posts

@MrsKoala: @Honeygold89: @MSBartlett: @AuntieEm: Yeah, Im not super worried at the moment, but if it keeps being higher than I hoped for at each appt... I will be. I am at a healthy weight, I wouldn't say I am skinny but I also don't think I am heavy, so I am hoping to stay below 35 lbs. I normally wear size 6-8 in jeans depending on the brand. We will see!

@AuntieEm: Nothing sounds good to me lately! Thinking about certain foods makes me gag. Protein I like right now... dairy. Not so great for the weight gain haha!

  36. SweetiePie

    honeydew / 7463 posts

@citymouse: Yes! I'm totally having that reaction to some foods too. We were about to order food on seamless and just looking at the KINDS of food made me gag (Chinese and Mexican. Barf! Those are both things I ate just last week). And those hotdogs I was craving 2 weeks ago? Gag!
I'm still ok with most beef (for now). Dairy and I are BFF too!

@Honeygold89: Whoa that's crazy! We're they able to point out what is what (arms, legs, head, etc)? I'm mesmerized by this

No she didn't point that out just yet but she should the head and body and then the other circle is the yoke I forgot to ask when does that go away or is it always there

@MrsKoala: I sent DH out to get some unisom and b6 but of course he "couldn't find it" I'm going to have to go out and get some myself, I'm still miserable.

@MSBartlett: fatigue is killing me, I am so so tired. And morning sickness is awful as well. I cant' wait until the 2nd trimester!
