    @ElbieKay: @Danizaur: @:Honeygold89: Thanks gals

Even though my update isn't a "fun" one, I still feel good about it. I had my D&C yesterday and obviously I wish I didn't need one - but both times it has felt like the 'starting over' point. Is it weird that I think of it kind of like a cleanse? Out with the old, in with the new (literally, hopefully in a couple months, it'll be in with the new ).
I still get sad on occasion but I feel (at least as of right now) that its much easier to cope than the first time (i.e. I'm not a crying mess and I am focusing on the future more than what I've lost). Occasionally bitter (why me?! why twice?!) but for the most part at peace.
I've already ordered my 50 pack of wondfo OPKs from Amazon and a 20 pack of the HPTs in preparation I'm down but not out!

Hoping in a couple of days I'll feel up to running and taking some classes again. Getting back into pre-pregnancy shape, focusing on finding a new contract job, and celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary this month - those are my goals.

Love to all and can't wait to keep reading about your babes!

@SweetiePie: Oh crap. I have a bazillion Wondfros left over. I could have mailed them to you! I sort of want to wait til my test results are in tho, since I am superstitious that way. If you need more in a few weeks/months let me know.

@ElbieKay: Haha, thanks! They are so cheap though I don't mind buying them. I gave my sister all of my wondfos shortly after I got my BFP and I also had a TON left over. I had ordered 50 of each! Which is why I only got 20 HPTs this time, I really didn't need that many and hope I don't this time either!
One silver lining - when I was at Duane Reade a couple of weeks ago, they had Clearblue Digital tests on sale (like, $17 for a 5 pack. What?!?!) so I snagged it figuring either my sister or I would use it at some point (they have a November 2014 expiration). Glad I did! Now I can verify my wondfo bfp when the time comes!

@SweetiePie: Please come by and contribute whenever you want to!! We miss you and I would hate it if you felt like you couldn't still take part. I'm glad that you are feeling more closure after the D&C and I don't think anyone blames you for being bitter sometimes. I love your goals for the month and want to wish you an early happy anniversary!!

@MrsKoala: Thank you! You all are the best support system a gal could ask for!

Speaking of my goals for the month - what are the rest of yours? Do you have any personal goals (exercise, job, etc) any baby goals (start cleaning out the spare room for baby! Take a cpr class! Settle on a birth plan!) or otherwise? It felt good for me to type out those goals (they had just been floating around in my head) so maybe we should all do it!

@SweetiePie: Agree with everyone else!! None us think that in any way, please come by whenever you want! Dh and I started a list of House things to take care of before Feb, but maybe Month by Month would be more helpful to us. This month I know we are having a tree that is clogging our gutters limbed up, and then we will get the gutters cleaned and repaired. Lots of rot happening.

@MrsKoala: I did see that! I am still so nervous someone will recognize me and then go and read everything Ive ever written. maybe Ill take some bathroom style shots to post?

@ElbieKay: Bummer that the results are taking so long!! Ayiyiyi!! Crossing my fingers its soon!

@Honeygold89: So funny that even poking them didn't help! Glad you got them moving around

    @Danizaur: @ElbieKay:

Question for ladies that WOH... Do you have to put it in writing that you discussed this with your boss? Totally just a curious question.

    honeydew / 7463 posts

@citymouse: Oh yeah, I bet that would help and make things seem less daunting. When I have a big list of things I like to break them out into smaller lists however I can. Either by timeline (daily, weekly, monthly) or by category. I do get overwhelmed easily (I'll look at a list of things and the less important things/longer term things I instantly start to panic about...I need to star this now!!!) so I learned through my job that smaller chunks really helps.

Had an Appt this morning! Went well. MW was irritated with Ultrasound Tech that they left my Due Date the same. So she manually changed it. February 10th now!

HB was 147. So interesting how it slows down. We took a little recording to send to family.

Also-- I am SO SO relieved about where we are choosing to deliver. And feeling so lucky that its even available to us. They recently renovated the L&D Unit and set out some brochures in the lobby today. Every single bullet point made me want to cry. Private rooms with tubs and showers, support med free-low intervention births, lowest c-section rate in our area, highest vbac rate, 5 maternal-fetal specialists on site so if we did become high risk we wouldn't need a new practice, level 3 NICU, wireless fetal monitoring, immediate skin to skin even after c-sections, etc... I am just so thankful that this hospital seems to CARE about the mother/baby experience. I went in today with a ton of questions, and didn't need to ask most of them because they are promoting them already in their marketing and literature.

Scheduled our Anatomy Scan for Sept 23rd!!

@citymouse: I work for a 65-person company, so I'm not too worried about documenting the conversation. I have an excellent relationship with the two partners who run the company, and that is who I plan to tell first. I did write up a proposal for my maternity leave which I will share with them eventually. I want to document whatever agreement we reach about managing that process. I am the first pregnant employee at our company, and they are both generally bad (i.e., too casual) about dealing with HR issues, so I know I will have to lead the conversation and be clear about my needs/wants.

    persimmon / 1116 posts

@ElbieKay: Gotcha. Yeah, I was just curious what people recommend. Good idea about documenting the agreement!! Let us know how the convo goes!!

@SweetiePie: My goals this month is to get ready for classes on the 26th and DH buying a shed so we can start cleaning out his man cave so we can start working on the LO's room that's really bout it

@citymouse: a that's great the appt went well and me and DH was just talking about how we wish we would have recorded that cause it was too funny and yes my baby was being stubborn just like its daddy lol even tho he claims I'm the stubborn one

@SweetiePie: Good to see you again and that you're keeping positive. My goals right now... stop feeling sick and get my butt back into the gym... I think its probably really important I get to the gym because I'm getting alot of pain in my pelvis area.

@SweetMamaM: & @ElbieKay: I dunno how they do things where you are from. I live in Australia and I work for a big company. We get 12 weeks paid maternity leave but if we have worked for the company more than 12 months we can take up to 12 months unpaid leave and be guaranteed our job (or one of equal positioning) when we return. Australian government also pays parental leave or a baby bonus too... I think in my case the paternity leave is worth more. Its about $600+ a week for 18 weeks.

@Mrs Music: in NZ it's 14 weeks paid and a year off, it's just a really bad time to be bringing it up with work, but I'm stubby torsoed and will start to show well and truly in the next few weeks.

  20. Mrs Music

    cherry / 209 posts

@SweetMamaM: I know how you feel... I feel like I'm as big as my friend who is at 22-23 weeks and I'm only at 11... I'm using the fact that my mum just moved in and is cooking as the reason I'm gaining weight but it will be a relief when I can finally say to people "I'm not actually fat I'm pregnant" for the first time ever.

Also on a side note, I'm looking forward to getting bigger so I can get a seat on the train.

  21. SweetMamaM

    pear / 1743 posts

@Mrs Music: I'm just looking fat at the moment. Despite being overweight I've never had a belly before... Was hugging my DH last night and we could feel my belly between us. Super weird feeling!
I'm looking forward to telling my students so that they'll hopefully start behaving and being less stressful.

So you ladies won't believe this but I had my blood drawn on Tuesday for the first trimester screening and they just called me like two minutes again to tell me that everything came back fine and it just amazing how fast they came back when they told me it would be anywhere from 5 to 10 business days.

@ElbieKay: I wish you could have went where I went then you wouldn't be waiting forever

  23. ElbieKay

    pomegranate / 3231 posts

@Honeygold89: Jealous! I called yesterday and they said I probably won't have results until TUESDAY! Did you use the MaternitT21 test or the Harmony test? Mine is Harmony.

Did you decide to find out the gender?? Glad to hear that you had negative results

  24. MrsKoala

    cantaloupe / 6869 posts

    @Honeygold89: Whoa that is quick!!

@citymouse: I haven't told my new employer yet but I will when I start on Monday but I don't think I will write it down. The employee handbook clearly stipulates the leave procedures so that should be a good guideline. Glad to hear that you had a good appointment yesterday!

  25. Honeygold89

    nectarine / 2527 posts

@ElbieKay: I did the maternitT21 test so maybe that's why it was quick? But I chose not to find the gender til my 18 week U/S next month

@MrsKoala: it was I was surprised

    pear / 1743 posts

@SweetiePie: I just saw this! It's good that you seem to be in a good headspace moving forward. I think you have some positive goals.

My goals for this month are to get back into exercise (first trimester nausea and fatigue knocked this for six), to sort my registration for work and to start rearranging our bedrooms so that we have a nursery space.

Phew. Just when I think symptoms are starting to fade I find out that I am WRONG! I've not been puking but I'm feeling nauseous all over again. Still sleeping all the time, although not as long. And now I have a headache all the time.

I think I'm showing! It's hard to tell with all the bloat but I'm pretty sure some of it is actually baby!

  28. Mrs Music

    cherry / 209 posts

@Danizaur: Same happened for me too. Thought I was getting better but nope... I also think my belly is sticking out due to baby... cos its the part below my belly button that's jutting out. It's exciting!

Alright, while I am STILL waiting for my T21 results, I just got out of my NT scan and the measurement was 1.8 so that gives me some peace of mind. The tech was super quick and businesslike though so it could have been a more fun experience.

I've just changed the date of my NT scan... it was originally scheduled for 13 weeks and 6 days... until I read an old post on hellobee that said that was the absolutely last date to do it on!! Scared the hell out of me and so I have now changed it to 12 weeks 6 days (1 week earlier) that means I don't have to wait as long and can tell people earlier... excited!

  33. SweetMamaM

Yay! My NT scan went great! My sonographer was SO awesome, explaining heaps along the way. I think that was especially good for DH as he hasn't done the amount of reading I have.
At first baby was fast asleep on its side (just like its mama!) but it meant we had good pictures of spine and head measurement. The sonographer then got me to get up and go to the bathroom and when I got back the baby was having a total disco party - so cool to see baby kicking around! Measurement was 1.2 and heartbeat was 164 bpm, so all good and now just waiting for midwife meeting next week and blood test results

OMG! Finally got the call! My husband's genetic marker test was negative. T21 results were negative. And...

    ...

    ...

    ...

    ...

    ... IT'S A BOY!

I'm so relieved that I want to cry, but I spent last night and this morning in the Neuro ICU with some family because our cousin had brain hemorrhaging yesterday. I took the morning off and need to get on a conference call now that I'm home. And my husband, who has a severe shoulder injury from a bicycle accident two weeks ago, can't find his PT rx and had to cancel his appointment this afternoon. This is way too much drama for one day/week. You can't make this up.

@ElbieKay: I'm popping in from the Nov boards to say congrats!!! I did the T21 test and I'm having a boy as well!! I can't believe it's been 3 months since we found out! That phone call was an incredible feeling!! Hope everything else calms down soon

@ElbieKay: congrats on finding out the gender! and sorry to hear that you are going through some stressful events.

I have an OB appt on Thursday and torn about finding out the gender. I kinda want DH there but he can't take time off work (boo!)

Anyone else find out gender yet?

    @ElbieKay: Congrats on your boy!

I am debating if I want to pay for an early gender scan at 16 weeks or wait until my dr will do it at 20 weeks, I really don't want to wait!

Is anyone else doing an early gender scan?
