@IcebergMom: No back pain really, although I do notice that Im sore in the front after standing for a while. Like ligaments are getting sore?

@IcebergMom: I'm having some major back pain! But I have since day 1 of this pregnancy. It's like my spine and pelvis stiffen up after an active day. It hurts to move.

@IcebergMom: we thought about that, but DH's extended family are pretty chronic Facebookers, so we figured that we had about a week from when they found out to put it online before they did

Announced! It's all out in the open now - thank goodness. Here's what we posted (hubby's into his NBA) - minus blur for privacy:

So how is everybody feeling with their nausea and energy?
For me I feel like I have a little more energy but not much I'm just hoping I can stay awake during my classes but I'm only taking 3 right now so hopefully not too bad but the nausea seems to be more now then in the first trimester DH even said it last night that I'm more nausea now but I refuse to take the zofran because I'm am more scared of constipation than vomiting crazy I know.
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
@Honeygold89: my nausea is definitely gone. I'm having a more loving relationship with food now!! My energy is better. I'm definitely not taking 4 hour naps everyday like I was a few weeks ago, but I still find I get tired out easily. But mostly I feel fine. Hello second trimester!!

@Danizaur: aw that's good how far alone are you I'm 15w3d and believe it or not I'm down 5lbs since pre pregnancy but the baby is growing it just me losing weight it's crazy but both my MW and high risk doc say its fine since the baby is growing and seem to be healthy so I guess no worries
nectarine / 2527 posts
@Danizaur: I wonder when I'll feel the better it seems the second trimester has brought more nausea and tiredness then the first I guess it's just making up for an easy first trimester

@Honeygold89: @Danizaur: thanks ladies!
At fourteen weeks I'm starting to feel a bit more human too! I managed to walk around a baby expo yesterday, then go piano shopping (don't ask) and then get some laundry done and head to for dinner. I still had to excuse myself at like ten to go to bed, but that's way more than I could have managed a couple of weeks ago!

@SweetMamaM: What kind of piano are you getting?!! I have a digital Yamaha. We live in a condo, but if we ever get a house I am definitely getting some kind of acoustic piano.
In other news, I had a checkup the morning and got another set of sonogram pics. The baby is doing great; everything is on track. His first in utero flights are this week, starting tomorrow: Cleveland for work, and then Paris for a quick business meeting before heading to the south of France for vacation.
Has anyone had any round ligament pain yet? I haven't but am not looking forward to it.

@ElbieKay: that's good you got to see your little man this morning have you guys thought of a name yet. And I hope everything goes great on your flights and enjoy your vaca. As for round ligament pains I had them earlier on around week 8 and I still do from time to time but not that much and I really don't pay them much attn now tho
pear / 1743 posts
@ElbieKay: we're going digital too, a Casio PX750 I believe. It has a really nice sound. DH is a freakishly talented piano player - he once played me "Waking Up In Vegas" by Katy Perry by ear - but hasn't had a piano since we moved in together. It was his 30th this year and it's what he decided he wanted for his big present

@ElbieKay: what is round ligament pain. If you mean pains in your legs at night then yes. If you mean pain in your butt from your pelvis shifting then I've had that since super early on. As my dad likes to say "I've got everything under the sun"

@Honeygold89: We have a name list, but it's still open to suggestions and we haven't picked a name off the list yet.
@SweetMamaM: Nice! I have had mine for over ten years. At this point it needs service because the keys click pretty badly plus a few of them stick.
@Mrs Music: I'm pretty sure RLP is around your pelvis. My best friend warned me about it bc apparently it's alarmingly painful but normal. It doesn't sound like you have experienced it either, based on her (and your) description.

@ElbieKay: mine is around my tailbone. Sitting or standing causes a dull pain and sometimes walking causes shooting pain up from my thigh to my tailbone area.

Going to the doctor today for a check up! No ultrasound but I'm still excited to see how this baby is doing.

@Danizaur: me too! Hope baby's heartbeat is loud and strong today!

In other (not so great) news I totally have an outie belly button! It's not pretty! Hahaha

@ElbieKay: well you have plenty of time and at least you know what you're having so you only hav to focus on one gender I'm so ready to find out so we can settle on a name.
@Danizaur: @IcebergMom: Well wishes at you guys appt today

@Danizaur: @IcebergMom: me three, new midwife appointment today!
Looking forward to hearing bebe's heartbeat on the Doppler again, even though I only heard it a week ago!

@Honeygold89: @SweetMamaM: thanks ladies! Heartbeat nice and strong!!! It was my first time hearing it.
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
I already posted this on the Feb 2014 gender thread but we had a pretty good dr visit today!
Everything looked good. They got the Doppler out to listen to the baby's heart beat. We heard the heart beat immediately, but only for about 2 seconds. My swimming, squirming little baby didn't want its heartbeat taken! She searched and searched but after 5 minutes she said, "We will just do an ultrasound."
I was so thrilled to see my baby again! As soon as the ultrasound wand hit my belly I saw the baby squiggling around. We got the heartbeat, 166bpm, then the tech started to look at the nether regions. She told me she would tell me what it is if she could tell. She finally got a good picture and showed me the legs...and then asked me if I saw what she saw.
I sure did! It was a BOY!! I burst into happy tears! We wanted a girl but I was so excited to find out I was having a son. I'm thrilled!! The doctor was amazed we could see it that early (but there was no doubt). He was showing off our whole strip of pictures to all the nurses. He was like, "She's only 14 weeks 4 days and look how clear this is! Definitely a boy!"
It was so exciting. Best day of my life so far. I'm so in love with this little boy.
Here's baby boy Babyzaur! He still needs a name.

@Danizaur: Hi baby boy Danizaur!! He looks so big!!
Just popping on to say hi!!! Had a heck of a work week (72 hours, oy) and dropped off the HB planet completely. Still have MS and I have a feeling it's going to stick around. My mom told me that she was sick for her entire pregnancy when she had my brother but only sick for the first tri with me and my sisters. Our theory is boy right now (which has been my feeling all along). We'll see if we are right in February!
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
@MrsKoala: That's what everyone is saying! There's no chance I'm farther along. He's just going to be a big boy like his dad!
I'm sorry you're sick! Maybe it does mean its a boy. :):)

@SweetMamaM: I hope your experience with your new MW is way better then you last appt at your old MW off.
@IcebergMom: that's right congrats for your first heart beat I know it seem like you had to wait for ever but I now it was worth it!
@Danizaur: yay congrats we're up to two boys now oh that's so exciting I'm so ready to find out what my lil one is!
pomegranate / 3706 posts
@Danizaur: you're so lucky you already know! I'm 16.5 weeks and had my 16 w appt yesterday hoping to schedule the anatomy scan for 18 weeks. OB won't let me get it until my next appt at 20w 2d. Congrats on your sweet boy!

@erinpye: Thank you! It was a great surprise to find out today! It'll be here before you know it!

@Danizaur: Exciting!!! Congrats on your gorgeous little boy! That's so awesome that they were able to tell so early, now you can start shopping!
@IcebergMom: Aww, yay! Hearing the heartbeat is so exciting! We didn't get to hear it last time (16 weeks) as the OB said it was too early to find it with the Doppler. She was brand new and straight out of school so I don't think she had any idea what she was talking about as you can most definitely hear it with the Doppler at 16 weeks! So happy you got to hear it though!
@SweetMamaM: Hope your MW appt goes well today and you like this one a lot better than the last!
@MrsKoala: Boo to MS still sticking around. Really hoping it starts to ease up soon for you! It will be interesting to see if your theory on LO being a boy is correct!
@erinpye: Oh that stinks! I'm excited for you to find out! Well, at least by waiting until 20 weeks, there's virtually no chance it will be too early to tell! Are you hoping for one gender or another? Obviously we all want healthy, but beyond that, any preference?
I'm sitting here feeling my baby kick as I type this! Super cute!

@Danizaur: Congrats on your boy. Lucky to have found it so clearly so early. Are boys easier to tell than girls you think?
14 weeks today! I have my first antenatal appointment in 2 days... not sure what to expect but excited.
pomegranate / 3706 posts
@Ree723: no preference at all! I have a girl, so a boy would be fun to have one of each, and a sister for my DD would also be so fun (I have a sister the same age distance and love it). Doc is making me wait because I opted out of all genetic testing and she wants to get a really good look at everything.
Yay for feeling kicks! I'm feeling them too, and it makes the sickness a little more bearable
cherry / 209 posts
@erinpye: I can't feel the kicks yet, when have people started feeling them... I was told I wouldn't feel them till about the 20th week.
pomegranate / 3706 posts
@Mrs Music: this is my second and you feel them sooner with subsequent pregnancies. I also have only lost weight, haven't gained anything yet (thanks, hypremesis), and thinner women tend to feel kicks sooner. I felt first flutters with my first around 14 weeks, real kicks by 18. I felt flutters with this one around 11-12 weeks, little jabby kicks now in my 16th week. My OB said average for real kicks is 20 weeks for first pregnancies, 18 for subsequent.
grapefruit / 4819 posts
@erinpye: That makes sense...and only 3.5 weeks away!
@Mrs Music: It also depends on if you have an anterior or posterior placenta. With my first, I had an anterior placenta, so despite being pretty thin, I still couldn't feel any movements until around 21-22 weeks. This time, I have a posterior placenta and started feeling them around 15 weeks (questionable movements) but now at 17 weeks, they are definitive baby movements. I also don't carry any extra weight in my belly (anything I gain goes to my hips/thighs) so I think it's easier to feel them as there's no extra cushioning there.
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
@Ree723: Thank you! My sister is going outfit shopping tomorrow for him. She's excited. Lol
@Mrs Music: I don't know. I'd say if I had a little girl they wouldn't have told me for sure the gender. I'd say with a girl it's about too early to be sure. I could be wrong though!
pomegranate / 3706 posts
@Ree723: I forgot to ask if you have a gender pref? (Did you already say and I just missed it?)
