    @SweetiePie: I'm so glad you popped in to say hi! I'm sorry about your difficult news, but I will tell you a dear friend of mine had a similar issue: got pregnant fairly easily 3 times, lost each, one pretty close to the end of the first trimester. She had an issue with egg quality. They did IVF to be able to screen the embryos, and the first time didn't work, but the second time did, and she's got a beautiful baby girl now. I know she felt a similar way- frustrated that getting pregnant wasn't the issue. I'm praying for you that it all works out. Xoxoxo.

    I was just thinking the other day that I can't believe we (as a group) are halfway done with our pregnancies! I feel this pregnancy definitely is going by faster than #1 did. Anyone else with me that this is flying by?

    @lavender: Totally with you. I'm 21 weeks already and wondering how that happened so suddenly!

    @lavender: absolutely! This one is light years faster than #1!

    Feels slow to me cos I'm dying of anticipation to find out the gender (2 more weeks!!). I've felt LO move around/kick the last two days though so that's exciting!

    @erinpye: We have our anatomy scan tomorrow too! I hope you feel better soon.

    Going to the doc tomorrow morning for the anatomy scan. Can't wait to see baby T again! He's been moving a lot but still nothing DH can feel. That's my next big thing I'm looking forward to is Daddy feeling him kick for the first time.

    @littleblessings: congrats and welcome!

    @lavender: this is # 1 for me but I feel like it's moving fast too I'm 20 weeks Thursday.

    @Mrs Music: it's almost here

    @Danizaur: I'm the same DH waked up every morning and places his hand on my belly hoping to feel N to move and I'm just so ready for him to feel it too

    In the waiting room at the drs office. Soooo many patients here today. I'll be here all day. At least that gives me a little bit of time to fill up my bladder before my urine test. That's one of my irrational fears is not having enough...

    That's all I got to write before they called me back for labs. Lol never mind then.

    @Danizaur: yay for your anatomy scan tday, good luck!

    @erinpye: How did your anatomy scan go? Do you know if your having a boy or girl?

    I have my anatomy scan on Friday, can't wait to see our little girl.

    @erinpye: Thank you Its really encouraging to hear a story similar to mine with a happy ending!
    Im so sorry you're still feeling sick! Praying that it will pass soon and you can enjoy the rest of your pregnancy. Good luck at the anatomy scan! xoxo

    I am becoming more and more accustomed to the idea of IVF. I think it's just something we have to do if we want a biological child that I carry. I'm realizing now its not really hypothetical...it's our reality.
    AND, my hip doctor is actually recommending that we implant two and try for twins! Holy crap! He said that while multiples isn't ideal for my hips, they will only get worse with age. So two now is better than one now and one later. Or two now and one later is better than 3 pregnancies. And so forth. So many things to think about, that's the biggest adjustment for us right now. When you're ttc naturally, it's just "ok, I'm ovulating. Let's do it." Now it's "IVF or not? Ok, IVF. One or two embryos? Freeze how many? destroy or donate the rest? CSV, amnio, or both? Oh crap, PGD was wrong, terminate or not?" Yeesh, just so much to consider that I never really thought about.

    But, focus on the good! We have an answer and can make decisions now based on that. One step at a time, we'll have our baby someday! totally not complaining, just sharing the insanity going on in my head if for no other reason than to keep me sane.

    @Danizaur: Good luck today!!

    @SweetiePie: So many decisions involved with IVF for sure! I'm glad to hear that you are adjusting to the idea and that's so crazy that your hip doctor is recommending that you go for twins!!! I like to follow along the IVF thread and I was glad to see you post there and hear from others who are going through it!

    Update! The appointment didn't take as long as I thought. We had our anatomy scan and he is still a boy! The doctor said everything is growing and developing absolutely perfect. He's doing great. So I'm thrilled!!

    Something I found out is that I have an anterior placenta. I thought for sure it must be posterior because I've already felt him move quite a bit. She said my placenta is higher up and not quite so low. But it will probably be a couple of months before DH can feel him move from the outside.

    @Danizaur: Just to give you some hope! My placenta is anterior but is on the top of my uterus as well so as baby grows, it gets higher and the kicks can be felt lower down. My husband could feel the lower down kicks around 20w2d.

    @MrsKoala: @Danizaur: interesting on the anterior placenta. I also have flutters but nothing I can feel from the outside... DH is dying to be able to feel something!

    @SweetiePie: I've been following along on your journey and thinking of you. I'm so glad to read your update! Your doctor's logic on why it's better to try for twins now makes perfect sense and I so hope that is what happens for you! Thanks for keeping us updated, I know we all think about you loads and are wishing you nothing but the best on this next step of your journey!

    @Danizaur: Congrats on your great anatomy scan! I had an anterior placenta with my first as well and I didn't really feel movement until around 21/22 weeks, whilst it was about 24-25 weeks for DH. The good thing though is that because it gives a bit more padding at the front, I never felt any uncomfortable kicks, even towards the end. Also, may be unrelated, but I never got to the 'pregnant lady having to pee every five minutes' stage, which I attribute (possibly incorrectly) to the placenta maybe preventing some of those bladder kicks. Either way, your DH will be feeling kicks soon!

    @erinpye: Congrats on a baby girl!! Sisters close in age will be the best!!! So happy for you!

    We had our anatomy scan last week (I think I forgot to update afterwards) and all looks perfect with our little TG baby! Our tech didn't even check out that area once she heard we were TG as she said there's no medical need and now no one knows (we're all done with scans for this pregnancy, barring any complications) so no worry about slip ups! Baby was super cooperative and is measuring spot on target to the day. I walked out of the scan thinking boy, but have since reverted back to my earlier feeling of girl. 21w2d now, so less than 19(ish) weeks to go! And just because, here's a pic of little bubby that I can't stop staring at!

    @Ree723: OMG I've not had the "had to pee every 5 minutes" thing either!! I thought I wasn't drinking enough water (even though I drink a lot). That could very possibly be it. Interesting!!

    @Danizaur: Well, I was more referring to later pregnancy (third tri and beyond) when there is absolutely no more room inside, but it could play a role now! I'd go by the colour of your urine though to determine whether or not you're hydrated enough

  33. artsyfartsy

    cantaloupe / 6692 posts

    @Ree723: Ah I see. That makes more sense. I'm hydrated most of the time, according to my urine. Some days I feel like I'm drowning myself in water. My bathroom breaks never increased much since before I was pregnant though.

    @Ree723: Baby looks so cute! Almost like s/he is sucking their thumb!! How sweet! Glad there were no slip ups in the U/S. We closed our eyes for ours when the tech said she was going to check out the bladder/kidneys just in case.

    @MrsKoala: Thank you and I agree! My sis and I are 21 months apart- my girls will be 22 months apart!

    @Ree723: thank you! I love that pic of your sweet babe with his/ her hand up by his/her face.

    @SweetMamaM: @Springtime: @Honeygold89: thank you!

    @indi: it'll be here soon! Promise!

    Here's a pic of my sweet girl

    @mrskoala: Thank you! I think he or she is pretty darn cute already too Funny enough, I have a nearly identical scan photo of my LO from the same time....wondering if that could mean this one is a girl too?! You guys were so good to close your eyes when the tech checked out the kidneys and bladder - I was staring at the screen intently, hoping to get a little peek I could analyse the heck out of, but our tech said there was no chance as I wouldn't be able to see anything from the angle she was working from. I'm happy to be TG, but as DH says, I have a Snoopy McSnooperson gene that causes me to try and garner information, even when I shouldn't! Ah well, now it's another 19 weeks of 'X happened, that means it's a ___!' Poor DH

    @erinpye: Thank you! Your little girl looks just beautiful - such a sweet profile already!

    @Danizaur: I'm in the bottom category (Oct 11 Australian time (or Oct 12 USA time).

    My DH and I are having our 30th birthday party (we are 12 days apart) the day after so on the cake board of our birthday cake will sit a little white teddy bear made out of fondant with either pink or blue ears to announce the gender to our friends.
