@Ree723: I've said it before, I don't know how you do it. Friends of ours just moved back here from Cairns with their four month old and the poor mite is always cold!
@Mrs Music: haha that cracks me up. My little peanut was like that ALL yesterday - it was exhausting!
I am so lucky guys, I met up with one of my friends today to catch up with her and her almost one-year old. Not only did she bring her Doppler for me to borrow for the rest of the pregnancy, but also brought me a whole bunch of little generous gifts - chocolate, bath bomb, preg-safe antacids, magazines and a pedicure voucher. So blessed (and almost a little teary)!

not sure which ones of you are on number 2 or up but those of you who are: Do your children every put their hands on your tummy and instantly get kicked?
This could go the same for those of you who have pets.

@littleblessings: I'm loving the weather lately! It's still been warm here during the day but at night, it's blanket weather. Autumn is my favorite season! It's just perfect.

@MrsKoala: Autumn is my favorite season too but I don't like bipolar Michigan. Every other day you switch from heat to air conditioning. Id rather it just remain sweatshirt weather than have it flip flop so much
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
@littleblessings: Ahhhh I know exactly what you're talking about! I lived in Ohio for a bit and it totally would flip like that without warning! New England is a little easier to handle!

@MrsKoala: Yeah. One day Im freezing. The next day its like 80 out and then once in a while you get the perfect sweatshirt weather. I like the sweatshirt weather. Then to add to being able to wear your comfy sweatshirts you get the pretty colors of the leaves and everything. I'm hoping that the trees will still have the pretty colored leaves on November 9th. Nothing could make my wedding day better. =)

I've noticed his movement has decreased A LOT the last couple of days. I feel like I may have felt him move a handful of times, but if that was him, they were a lot weaker moves.
Lately he has been moving and rolling and making strong movements all day. I know I shouldn't be worried because I have an anterior placenta...but the last two days have been completely different than the last two weeks.
pear / 1739 posts
@Danizaur: It's normal for them to be super active for a period of time and then not move as much for a while. The babies are still weak and small so its possible that he is moving without you knowing it. Sometimes they are moving when you are up and moving around and then they are lulled to sleep by the time you sit down. Call your doctor if you are worried and they should ease your mind. If you get too worried and can't wait to call the doctor then a trip to the ER surely should clear your mind. They can use a doppler and ultrasound to make you feel better. With your anterior placenta it probably makes it a lot harder to feel movement. Best thing for you to do is relax. Stress is not healthy for you or your baby.

@Danizaur: I'm having the same thing today too... everyday this week its been like gangam style in my belly... today its super quiet.. I feel the occassional movement but its kinda like 'Oh its Friday I'm slacking off today'.
Try not to worry too much and hopefully your LO will soon be back to its usual active self.

His movement is much better today. He is actually higher than my belly button! I'm feeling him do flips today. I can breathe a little easier.
I'm also 20 weeks today! Halfway there!!
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
@Danizaur: I sometimes wonder if they get quiet for a bit because they are in a growth spurt! A couple days ago, baby was so quiet that it was freaking me out but by night time, we were back to our thumps and somersaults! I can't believe your baby is up above your belly button! Mine is still so low! Yay for 20 weeks!

Anyone have a baby that loves to kick them in the bladder? My baby is so LOW and I feel like I always have to pee because of it!
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
@MrsKoala: I know! I was feeling him roll or flip or something and I was like, it's so high up! I'm short torsoed so that may have something to do with it.

My LO is like right at belly button level now but he is stretching from my pelvis to my ribs. Looks like another tall one for me. Only problem i got notice of today was at my U/S the doctor saw his heart rate dipping super low. It looked good today but at the anatomy scan it wasn't. I guess the dr is going to keep a closer eye on him and make sure his heart rate is remaining good

Sea air is such a great tonic. I feel like I've had such crappy sleep all week and yesterday was so grumpy, even though we were driving out to a rented beach house. Less than 24 hours here and I already feel like a new person. Slept for eight solid hours, had a snugly nap with DH as well and we even came up with our second boy's name. Might have to try and get away at least once more before bebe is born!

@Danizaur: I have a short torso, too, and I'm feeling (and seeing!) a lot of the kicks right by my belly button.
LO calms down the minute DH tries to feel the thumps, but at least now he's been able to watch my belly a bit. Hahah. Soon we'll have to sneak-attack the kiddo and I'll silently get DH over to feel one. I swear the babe hears me call him over and then *boom* - nothing. Poor hubs.

@SweetMamaM: Ooooh, the seaside sounds lovely right now! Hope you continue to have a great and relaxing time!

@indi: same here! I think right now LO doesn't want anyone but me to feel it! Every time DH tries he says he just feels my heartbeat or my stomach going up and down from me breathing!
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
@indi: Same here!!! I'm still waiting for DH to be able to feel him move.

@MrsKoala: LO is definitely playing kick the bladder he's sitting low too but I did feel him I little higher up for a lil today then low again.
@littleblessings: hope the dr keeps an eye on him but sometime their rate can change so don't worry too much.
@SweetMamaM: I was like that too last week til I told DH we needed a mini vacation so we took a weekend trip to St. Augustine and stayed by the water it was very refreshing. Enjoy the rest of your time.
@indi: @Mrs Music: @Danizaur: same here and DH talks to him every night hoping he'll kick for him but he just won't all day he's moving and kicking but soon as DH come home he stops til DH goes to bed then he's back at it lol poor hubby I don't know why this lil boy does him like that.

@Honeygold89: Well like I guess his heart rate would be fine for a little bit and then dip real low. The doctor even said that he has no idea what could be causing it

Argh! I fell over today. I was heading down some rickety beach steps (wearing jandals, which didn't help) and I slipped. I was so terrified of landing on my stomach and hurting baby that I landed completely awkwardly, bruising my arm as I hooked it over the railing and completely taking the brunt of the impact on my shin.
No bleeding, no gushing of amniotic fluid, used the Doppler and heard baby's heartbeat before it wriggled away under my placenta (it is really hating on dopplers and ultrasounds right now) and also checked the blood flow of my placenta (the upside of an anterior placenta) and all sounds good. Just gave myself (and poor DH) a hell of a fright.

@SweetMamaM: aww I'm glad you're ok! There are like 9 layers of things protecting baby, so baby is most likely fine, even after a fall. I'm mostly concerned with you having landed strangely- I hope your body isn't sore tomorrow. Get some rest

@erinpye: oh I'm going to have a raging bruise on my shin tomorrow - it already looks rather ghastly. Rather me than my little bun though, right! I'll put up with the pain and the hobbling.

@SweetMamaM: You poor thing Ice it if you can! It's sad when pregnant you can't just reach for the Advil. The things we do for our babies- twisty falls and all!

@SweetMamaM: aw sorry that's happen but good the baby is ok you take care and be careful

Anyone else cloth diapering? I know I said in a previous post I wasn't but I'm seriously reconsidering it now.
pomegranate / 3706 posts
@Danizaur: I intended to with my first, but she was so small with no fat on her legs, liquid baby poop kept leaking out. It was also just one more thing I didn't need when I had no family help and a super colicky baby. It's just so much easier to throw a poopy diaper away!

@Danizaur: Nope, we are doing Pampers till she's out of size 1 swaddlers and then moving to Target's brand (that's what my LO #1 wears now and we don't have issues with leaks)
persimmon / 1116 posts
@Danizaur: We are! Going the super old school way with prefolds and covers. Im sure we will add other types to the mix over time (fitteds, hemp soakers) as we figure out our needs but we are really excited about it!

@SweetMamaM: So glad you arent more hurt! Definitely one of my biggest pregnancy mishap fears--falling.
cherry / 209 posts
@SweetMamaM: Hope you feel better soon!
@Danizaur: Yes but I'm going terry towelling and chux wipes.
I've been thinking about nappy bags lately.. I'm tempted to buy an inexpensive duffel bag (similar to those country road ones) and sewing velcro to the inside. Then velcroing a bunch of plastic bags and doing this http://www.hellobee.com/2012/07/17/organizing-your-diaper-bag/
my sister says to get a proper nappy bag.. what do you gals think?

@IcebergMom: @Honeygold89: @Danizaur: @Mrs Music: thanks guys. I made the mistake of reading more of Dr Google last night and with LO being a bit quiet I worked myself up into a crying fit that I could have hurt our baby. DH was awesome and cuddled me all the way through it. Bebe has been a solid little wriggler today though, so I am much more positive, despite having a palm-sized bruise on my shin.
@Danizaur: We're planning on cloth diapering, but will probably give ourselves a month to six weeks in eco disposables just to not put too much pressure on ourselves in the first few weeks.
@Mrs Music: I've put that in the "too hard" basket. I'm hoping someone gets an awesome one for our baby shower or I'll just pop out in the post-Christmas sales and pick up something.

@SweetMamaM: aw I have learned to satay away from google n yahoo they just get you all worked up
