Hey y'all! I am just floating in. I have been mainly on the March boards, but I am starting to think this will totally be a Feb baby. My son was a aug/sept baby and ended up having a sept 1 bday. We are expecting a girl sometime between feb 28 and march 8, two babies will be about 17 months apart.

@matador84: welcome! Was just looking at your bump picture. You look awesome!

@raintreebee: LOL! I am huge! I was big with my first too though. I have really started to hurt this week from carrying all the extra weight around.

@Honeygold89: that's a pretty good start!
@matador84: welcome I'm a February mama that could end up being March (due 23rd) so could end up going the other way. Due dates... Yeah right!

@matador84: welcome aboard
@SweetMamaM: I know I was shocked they did that much for us but I must say DH has some great co-workers

@matador84: Welcome, welcome!
@SweetMamaM: I always just tell people "end of Feb, beginning of March" because Feb 20 is no guarantee and I don't want to hear it every darn day after the 21st. Haha.

@indi: huh I'm worse - I say sometime in February or March. Although really hoping for a Feb baby

@Mrs Music: @SweetMamaM: coke helps some people, but hinders others. I get migraines and caffeine helps mine, but many people can get them from caffeine, too. Everyone is different!
@littleblessings: how is your friend? I'm worried for her and her baby.
All the shower talk is so fun! I remember feeling so special at my showe for DD1. I'm not having one this time around since I'm having another girl, only 22 months later. I hope you all enjoy them so much and revel in the excitement and cuteness!
GD 1 hr test is scheduled for a week from Tues- I got really wiped out and sick after I took it last time, and tried to get out of it, so I'm really not looking forward to it this time.
Starting to feel huge and MUCH more exhausted than I did at this point in my last pregnancy. Still frequently severely nauseated, too. I'm ready for it to be Feb!

PSA to the Feb mamas- spoil yourselves a little and spring for some of the Burt's Bees Mama Bee body oil.
I just got out of a half hour shower, shaved my legs, tried out my Burt's Bees Mama Bee body oil, and topped it off with cocoa butter lotion, and I truly feel 100x better than I have in weeks. I guess happy skin = happy mama for me. I'll be buying a little more of the yummy, lemony-smelling body oil because I can definitely see me asking DH for some good back rubs during labor.

@SweetMamaM: Yay! Glad you kicked the headache. Caffeine is the only thing that works for me as well!
@Honeygold89: What a haul! That's awesome!
@matador84: Welcome!!
@indi: Sounds like heaven! I got the Mama Mio oil and use it at night and it just feels so good to put it on (even though I'm sure it's not going to prevent stretch marks at all).

For those of you due close to the end of Feb who may end up having March babies are any of you also posting on the March thread?
pomegranate / 3706 posts
@Mrs Music: I'm at the beginning, but could end up in Jan, and still post here. I figure just go by due date since ultimately it's unpredictable!

@Honeygold89: What an awesome haul! It will also be really nice to have some bigger nappies as everyone seems to buy stuff for newborns and forgets that they grow out of stuff so quickly!
@matador84: Yay for another potential Feb baby! I'm due at the beginning of Feb but keep feeling as though it might actually be a January baby. DD arrived on her due date so wondering if I could be that lucky twice!
@erinpye: I hear you on feeling so much more exhausted this time around. I have so many things I think I'm going to accomplish each day, and then I get through about 10% of it and am wiped out. Fortunately, my parents have come for a visit (Dad just left but was here for 2.5 weeks) and mom is here for nearly 6 weeks (she leaves a week from Sunday) so I've had a lot of help lately, which has been wonderful.
The nesting mode has been so strong lately and I've been all about the DIY crafts, even though I am not normally a crafty person! I've just made LO a felt Christmas tree, complete with all kinds of felt ornaments; I also just bought the fabric to make baby #2 a flag bunting banner (did the same for LO so in order to avoid neglected middle child syndrome, I better do the same for this baby!), and now I'm working on some homemade Christmas decorations for when we get our tree in a couple of weeks. Hello nesting mode!!!

@Mrs Music: no, I barely have the energy to keep track of everyone on here!
Is anyone else just reaching the end of their tether with work? I think part of it is to do with being a teacher and having to deal with the business of the end of the academic year but I am just always tired and so disheartened.

@SweetMamaM: I was there months ago. I spend my days at work reading and looking at baby stuff and planning big events for my church.

@SweetMamaM: You don't have much longer at work right? Stay strong!
I'm at home as you know. I saw an ad for a part time job at a new sandwich/lunch shop down the road from me and considered taking it for a couple of months. I'm bored! But I'm happy to be able to rest when I need it. Now of days I think women are expected (and expect themselves) to keep up a normal pace of life even when pregnant. I have a hard time accepting that I need to take a break or just ask someone to help me. But now that I get to rest I'm really feeling how beneficial it is. Pregnancy is hard work! Especially now that we are approaching the last trimester.

@SweetMamaM: How many weeks left until school is out? I know here the Year 12s start schoolies next week, and I'd imagine your calendar is fairly similar, so hopefully it's just a few more weeks to go! Are you returning for the start of next year before going on maternity leave?
@Danizaur: Enjoy the time off! I didn't work throughout my pregnancy last time (we moved several hours away just after finding out we were pregnant, and as we didn't need the money, we decided I wouldn't start a new job, only to work for a few months and then quit. The plan was always for me to be a SAHM anyway so it just started a bit earlier than planned!). Anyway, being able to rest and take care of myself, especially towards the end of pregnancy, was SO NICE. I fully attribute that to my easy labour, recovery, and transition to motherhood. Use that time to pamper yourself and get done any outstanding projects they have been languishing on your to do list - for me, it was finishing a bunch of photo books that had been half done for ages! Seriously though, just enjoy the time!!!

Update! My friends labor was able to be stopped. She is still having mild contractions but nothing to progress the labor. They gave her a steroid shot to boost the babies lung growth so when the baby must come out she hopefully wont have way too premature lungs. She also has a pill to be put you-know-where to prevent further dilation. I will have more updates later today as she has an appointment. Praying for good news.
On another note my glucose test came back in normal range. Got the call this morning. It made my morning.
Are any other moms cleaning like crazy right now? I feel like nothing is ever clean enough.

@Ree723: our seniors have left on study leave to start their exams so we just have the juniors, but there is still a lot more work for the next couple of weeks with paperwork before things dial down a little bit (around the start of Dec). Someone from the management team mooted that we should be doing skits with our Year 9s (Year 8s for you) for performance and given that I have two Year 9 classes, one with massive behavioural issues, I was like "Hell No!" - I believe that I may have even threatened to go into early labour. It's that because we're one of the more efficient departments, we get lumped with so much more Rant over anyway.
@Danizaur: I completely agree with you that everyone seems to expect you to function normally - it's just not possible for me anymore. I'm getting more and more tired after just a normal day at work.
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
@Mrs Music: I'm due at the beginning of Feb and could very well have a January baby but I think it's just easier to pick a thread and keep with it.
@Ree723: That's so great that your parents could visit and help you for a little bit!
@SweetMamaM: I just find it so hard to actually concentrate on work. I wish I could take a couple weeks off before EDD but since that is the beginning of the semester for me, that is not going to happen.
@Danizaur: I say enjoy your break! You're going to be so busy in a just a couple months!
@littleblessings: I'm so glad to hear that they were able to stop her labor. Any extra amount of time that baby can bake is going to do so much good.

@littleblessings: Good news! No my cleaning instinct hasn't kicked in yet. I wish it would. I'm tired of a dirty house but I'm also just too tired to clean. I need some motivation. All I want to do is nap right now because my sleep sucks at night.
@SweetMamaM: Stay strong!

@Ree723 - my nesting bug kicked in like crazy a few weeks back, but it's starting to slow up a bit once I was able to complete a few projects. I wish I was a better crafter but usually when I try to craft, I run out of patience or end up hating what I've created. So right now I'm having fun "browsing" online for fun baby things.
Anyone done their glucose test yet? I just scheduled mine - not looking forward to it.

@theknest: I was told I was going to be doing it at my appointmet this past Friday, but they messed up and I'll be doing it in two weeks.
@littleblessings: Glad to hear your friend is doing better!

@littleblessings: glad to hear that. Hope she can progress normally now.
As for the cleaning... my brain likes to imagine me cleaning... but the laziness in me prevents it from becoming reality.

@Ree723: I know it will come in handy as he grow. But nesting has kicked in hard for me but since being pregnant I have became sensitive to bleach so i have to wait on DH for the sweeping, mopping and wiping stuff down but of course he doesn't clean like me so I can't wait until Noah's born and I can bleach the house from top to bottom.
@littleblessings: that's so good to hear I hope everything continues to go well for her and her baby.
So I had an U/S today and baby Noah was 2lbs 2oz and everything is still measuring right on point and working well. While the tech tried to measure his head he wouldn't cooperate so she switched to 4d to look at his facial features which was so cool and sweet of her since if we wanted one it would have been extra. Every time she got to his face he put his hands up lol so this is what we could see. He looks so cute already I can't wait until he's born. Our next U/S is dec 26th to check on his growth

@Mrs Music: I almost did at first, but you all were so welcoming I decided to stick with the February ladies (Plus I figured if I think and live it, maybe baby will agree that Feb is best...worth a try...)

@OldEnglandMama: haha oops cos I've been saying I reckon LO will come in March. Everyone I know who has had their first baby has had them 2 weeks or so late. I see no reason to spoil the party.

@theknest: @SweetMamaM: @Danizaur: I just did the one hour test last week and honestly, it was totally fine. The drink tasted kind of good. The waiting around was the worst part and that was just boring. Haven't heard about my results yet, though.

Is this happening to anyone else?
I'll eat breakfast and feel crazy full for so long. Then like 10 minutes after I stop feeling full, I'm intensely hungry again like shaky, must eat now, hungry. So I eat my lunch and then begin to feel so grossly full about halfway through. I just cannot feed myself adequately any more! It's like I don't know when to stop eating or when to start. I'm getting frustrated because the shaky feeling is particularly awful.
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
@MrsKoala: I'm the same! I hate the shaky feeling. I've always had low blood sugar so I always get shaky wen I'm really hungry but now I get shaky as soon as my belly gets halfway empty. Lol

OMG I found little baby purple lines near my belly button today on both sides. Looks like stretch marks are coming. I have some huge red angry ones on my hips already. I wasn't too concerned about them because I already had some on my hips and I was like "what's a few more?" But I don't want them on my belly!! No no no no no!
I slather on cocoa butter everyday after I shower...something I've done before I was even TTC. I guess its inevitable.
pear / 1739 posts
@Danizaur: When I was pregnant with S, I applied cocoa butter and other lotions 4 times a day. I still ended up with massive amounts of stretch marks. People say that stretch marks could be hereditary. I haven't gotten any new ones with this pregnancy yet. Some of the older ones have gotten darker but if you lose your pregnancy weight they turn flesh toned again.
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
@littleblessings: My whole moms side of the family (mom, aunt, two female cousins, sister) all got stretch marks during their pregnancies. So I was doomed! I already had stretch marks from a growth spurt as a teen and a rapid weight gain and then weight loss after I quit smoking. I was just hoping that my body decided it had enough.
My old ones from my growth spurt are almost invisible so I'm glad.

@Danizaur: I'm just waiting for them.
Today I scratched my tummy at work while using the bathroom, and when I stood up and saw the reflecting of my stomach in the mirror I nearly fainted - I was covered in big red lines from pants to bra. It took me about 5 seconds to realize it was my scratch marks.

@Danizaur: Oh man. I found stretch marks on my butt cheeks in my crack!! I couldnt stop laughing when I found them....pregnancy is the best! Hahahaha.
