    @citymouse: Haha, how did you even spot those?! I'm pretty sure my butt/thigh sneakers were there at least a week before DH mentioned them. Haha.

    Boo to stretch marks! I firmly believe it all comes down to genetics though and all the creams in the world won't do a damn thing if you are genetically predisposed to them. I never got any with my first LO, and neither my mom nor my sister or I have ever had any stretch marks, so I'm hoping we just got lucky with the good genes!

    @indi: In the morning I get up and look at my skin before I get in the shower and I always have pink marks from my pajamas on my skin. Every morning, I forget that they are there and I freak thinking they are stretch marks!

    Anyone else needing to hit the iron supplements? I'm on 2x per day. I'm so pooped all the time. Hope it kicks in soon.

    @IcebergMom: I haven't had it checked yet but I had anemia issues before pregnancy. I've been SO tired lately (if I closed my eyes right now I'd fall asleep) that I'm wondering if I should start taking my supplements again.

    @Danizaur: I had stretch marks from growth spurts too, so I think I'm pretty much destined to get them. At the moment I have like one stretch dot lol.
    @IcebergMom: @MrsKoala: I'm absolutely knackered too, but I'm thinking that it's probably just due to the immense workload I'm under at the moment. My second prenatal bloods next week should give me an indication though.
    Up early here (it's just past eight on Saturday morning) to go to a prenatal Pilates class... The things I do for this wee bebe!

    @MrsKoala: I'm too tired to read back and check but have you done your gluclose yet? They might have some hemoglobin levels tested to give you a Good idea.

    @SweetMamaM: find some rest

    Everyone eat lots of iron rich stuff tonight! Steak and spinach salads! Xoxo

    cantaloupe / 6869 posts

    @IcebergMom: I did it last Thursday but no results yet. I'm assuming I'm fine since no one has called me or that I'll get the results as my appointment next week. Good idea, I'll ask if they might have an idea of what my iron levels are like at that appointment.

    @MrsKoala: me too! i keep thinking pantline marks are stretchmarks and have panic attacks!

    @raintreebee: Oh I'm so glad I'm not the only one!!

    @MrsKoala: Does your prenatal have iron in it? I also struggle with my iron levels and am having them tested during my glucose test next week. I wasn't taking my prenatal with iron regularly (the gummy prenatal without iron is so much tastier!) and was exhausted, but since I've switched back to the one with 27 mg of iron, I am feeling much more human!

  12. SweetMamaM

    @IcebergMom: I did this afternoon - I ended up bursting into tears after lunch and my DH told me to *bleep* work and have a rest. So I had an afternoon nap on the couch. I still feel way overwhelmed by the sheer amount of work I need to get done but I'll get there in the end (and probably sleep for three days once work is over in three and a half week's time)

    Am I the only one constantly craving ice? I must chew it like all day every day. Its driving me nuts!

    cantaloupe / 6692 posts

    @MrsKoala: I have anemia too. I continued to take my supplements along with my prenatal. My levels looked fine when I was 6 weeks but they haven't checked them since then. I feel only slightly tired. But that might be due to the fact that I'm sleeping like crap at night now.

  15. artsyfartsy

    We woke up slowly this morning and DH had been awake for a little while before I woke up. He said "I felt the baby move while you were asleep!"

    He rolled over and felt my belly while I was still sleeping. Lol I thought it was too sweet.

    @indi: I have gotten them all over my hips, inner thighs and was just looking at them and noticed something a little odd happening on my backside so I took a peek!

    @Danizaur: aw that is cute I was wondering how much and if he moves when I'm sleep. Right now he has hiccups and it just feel so funny to feel him keep bouncing around lol

    So interesting to see the girl/boy results: will be awesome to see once the Team Greens have their babies whether there's more girls or boys or they're pretty equal Thank you for recommending this board to me, by the way: I'm still new to the "boards" part of the site as I mostly read the blogs!

    @Ree723: I'm taking two Flintstones since my prenatals have bothered my stomach. I think it has some iron but not as much as I used to take. My iron levels were good just before pregnancy so my doctor took me off the supplements. I've got an appointment on Wednesday so I'm going to check on it.

    @ILoveLettie: Welcome! Glad you decided to join in!

    @ILoveLettie: Welcome!

    Just ordered some Red Raspberry Leaf tea! Im excited to try it. I like tea in general so if it doesn't help at all, no harm done!

    Had a scare last night, that hopefully is going to turn out to be nothing. I was having Heartburn and a Headache on and off for most of the day, took Pepcid, didn't help. Drank coffee (despite the heartburn) to see if it was a caffeine headache, didn't help. Couldn't sleep I was in such distress/pain, finally called MW at 2 AM and she said it could be Pre-E. She told me to take a Tylenol and call her back in an hr or so if the headache was still there, I might have to come in to be monitored/take urine/take blood. It subsided thankfully. I have an appt on Wednesday so they will check me out then. Hopefully it was just a fluke and is not Pre-E!

    @citymouse: So sorry. Hopefully just a scare. You could go into a pharmacy to have your blood pressure checked, although those machines have varying degrees of accuracy.

    @citymouse: Keep us updated! I hope that this was just a random fluke and nothing to do with Pre-E. Feel better!

    @raintreebee: I literally laid in bed all day and I plan to tomorrow as well, definitely a perk of working from home, so hopefully having it checked on Wed will be good. That is a good idea though!

    @MrsKoala: Thanks lady!! Me too.

    @citymouse: Oh no, hope everything goes well!!

    I'm finding my LO is super well behaved (except for letting other people feel her kick). When I need to go to sleep and she's moving around I say "peanut mummy needs to sleep, so you need to sleep too" and she stops kicking... and when she moves into an uncomfortable spot I say "peanut you're hurting mummy, move somewhere else please" and the pain goes....

    I really hope she's that obedient when she comes out!

    @Mrs Music: Let's hope! Yeah T I think knows when I call someone over to feel his kicks...because he stops!! Everytime! He kicks me to sleep though. I like it. He hasn't gotten into any uncomfortable positions yet.

    @citymouse: Let us know what your MW says!

    Do any of you have an idea or plan for losing the baby weight? 2nd time moms please chime in on this!

    I have always thought that I would be very gentle with myself and not put too much pressure on myself to lose the weight. I always assumed it would take 9-12 months to be at a happy weight/muscle tone, which I think is reasonable. However, I am going to be a bridesmaid in a wedding about 5 months after giving birth, depending on if I go late or not. So, that makes me think I will want to put a little bit of fire under my tush so I don't feel uncomfortable next to all the other bridesmaids.

    I've been reading a lot about Whole30 and am excited to try it! I think I will start it around the middle of April. I really want to establish good milk supply and make sure breastfeeding is going well before trying a grain free diet. Of course I might toss all of this out the window if I need to!

    Curious what everyone is thinking, or not thinking, about this...

  32. MrsKoala

    cantaloupe / 6869 posts

    @citymouse: My plan is to get back into more rigorous exercise and eating whole foods as much as possible. I'm hoping that I won't put too much on in the end so that I'll have less to lose but I don't know how much that can be controlled.

    DH was here this weekend (yey, for no call this rotation) and *finally* got to feel LO kick. Baby was completely cooperative for once. It was so wonderful to see the smile on DH's face. The long distance thing has been really getting to him and he's quite overwhelmed with the pressure of school - it made me so very happy he finally got a connection. He spent the rest of the weekend rubbing my belly and talking to it. Just wanted to share because it makes me feel so warm and fuzzy (He's gone back up to Maine now, booo.)

    Also, welcome @ILoveLettie:!

    @citymouse: I haven't thought about it too much yet but I know I don't want to put any undue pressure on myself. I'm thinking I'll keep walking and yoga-ing, and hope to breastfeed, which should help. I'd like to get back into cycling to work but it all depends on how much contribution DH will be able to make to daycare drop-offs/pick ups...probably not much. I suspect my bike will stay in the basement

    @MrsKoala: Definitely. I have been tracking along where I was hoping too. Gaining about 1/2 a lb a week so far. Hoping I can keep that up until the end!

    @citymouse: Going to go back to a strict clean diet and doing Insanity 5 days a week. Helped me drop 20 pounds earlier this year before I was TTC! Going to be careful though getting into it because I will be breastfeeding.

    @ILoveLettie: Welcome!

    @citymouse: How scary! I hope everything turns out to be ok, glad you're resting now!

    Re: losing weight, I'm not going to worry about it too much. With LO, I breastfed exclusively for 5.5 months before introducing solids and the weight literally melted off without me doing a thing other than taking LO for casual walks. It took a couple of months before it started falling off, but by 4.5 months pp, I was below my pre-pregnancy weight with a flat stomach again - no monitoring my diet and no vigorous exercise regime. I did go to the gym occasionally starting at 4 months pp but never got into a regular enough routine of going that it had much benefit other than to make me feel good the maybe one time per week I got there. Seriously, breastfeeding is awesome for weight loss

    Just had my glucose test this morning - only a two hour test, not three like they originally told me! And not a big deal at all, I thought it would be so much worse. My next appt isn't for another three weeks so if the results are bad, they'll call, otherwise, all should be fine!

  38. SweetMamaM

    pear / 1743 posts

    @citymouse: to be perfectly honest, I'm not going to worry too much about it. Our ideal goal is to EBF until six months, so I'll probably be fairly lenient on myself until then. I'm looking forward to getting out for walks with the baby in the stroller but I am just going to chill on it for those first six months and then step it up a notch if I need to

  39. Mrs Music

    cherry / 209 posts

    @citymouse: I'll be on confinement for the first month so probably won't do anything except breastfeeding to lose weight then.

    I plan to take baby on walks daily while its not too cold and I'll probably go to the gym when I can with hubby but I don't expect it to be all crazy... it was hard enough losing weight before I got pregnant!

    @Mrs Music: are you asian? I'm Chinese and when my mom told me about the 30 day confinement rule I knew it was something I wasn't able/willing to follow.
