@ILoveLettie: Do you have a birth ball that might help? Heating pad? I know laying my upper half on the birth ball, knees on the floor makes my back feel really good, if you haven't already tried that!

@erinpye: Yes on the BF thing. I had read a bunch of threads here that not all women are able to lose weight while BF, so I am just going to assume the worst and not count on it. If it works, then awesome! Also, funny story... I tried to do Zumba one time at home on my computer. It must have been a pretty advanced class because I basically looked like Monica trying to keep up with that tap class in Friends. It was baaaaad. Good thing it was just me around, haha!

@Mrs Music: I had some scrambled eggs before the appointment and made sure to schedule it early so I could have something a bit more substantial afterwards. I think the key is to avoid carbs before the test and stick with eating mostly protein.

@citymouse: I have had them several times. For me, they kind of hurt. I always find that mine are caused by hydration issues because I am forgetful regarding my water intake. I've heard that need to go to the bathroom can cause them, too.

@erinpye: That sucks that the GD test gave you more nausea! You of all people don't need anymore nausea! I hear you on the exhaustion thing. I think I'm feeling it worse than the first tri. I've been going to bed at 9:30 every night and I still feel wiped when I get up in the morning. And as soon as I hit 20 weeks, time has seriously been on warp speed. I cannot even believe that Thanksgiving is next week and that December is right around the corner! We are so close to meeting our babies now!

@MrsKoala: I think that was my problem last night! Haha. We had some fast food (Im too ashamed to even tell you guys where it was from! :-/) and it did not sit well!

@Mrs Music: Sorry I just now seen this! I was told to eat normally but to avoid anything overly sugary. I got up at 4am (couldn't sleep) and had two pieces of toast with a tiny bit of butter, a piece of cheddar cheese, and a banana. I went back to bed and got up around 10am and had 2 scrambled eggs and one more piece of toast with a tiny amount of butter. I also drank only water.

The bread probably wasn't the best choice but I needed something to fill my belly. My appointment wasn't until 1:30pm! I think honestly, as long as you drink your drink in the time given and follow the instructions, you will pass if you're meant to pass. As long as you don't eat a donut or something full of sugar. That might mess you up. Lol

My braxton hicks contractions hurt! They feel like gas pains but of course no gas ever comes out. Just that tightening, stabbing feeling and then they relax. I get them most often when I'm too active or don't drink enough water.

So my appt went fine everything on track heart rate was around 144 but woke up with a bad tooth ach that almost made me cry so when I told my MW she told mad to get to a dentist and try to get it pulled cause I was suppose to get it pulled the day after I found out I was pregnant but put it off but I definitely went to one of those emergency dental places and got it pulled so I feel a little better now.

@Honeygold89: Glad that you went to the dentist and feel better now! That must have been really painful.

@MrsKoala: yes it was and this was the first time it ever hurt me even when they first told me it needed to be pulled it didn't hurt that's why I put it off trying to wait til after the baby was born but oh well.

Mailing out shower invitations. Ugh. I hate tracking people down to get their addresses!

Funny story: when I had my shower invitations made the seller made a mistake and put the time as 1:00pm instead of 3:00pm like I asked. I pointed this out to her and she fixed it no problem. Well I took my PDF to the printing place today and had them print them off and guess which one I saved and had printed?
The 1:00pm!! I told DH that I guess it's at 1:00pm now because I'm not paying to have another set printed off. Lol

@citymouse: bwahahaha! I love Friends! But that's the fun thing about Zumba class- all levels, abilities, shapes and sizes are welcome, at least in my experience. I have to do a class like that because I get too bored with regular exercise!

@MrsKoala: aw thanks- I'm feeling better now a couple of days since. I hate that dang glucose drink! It's crazy to think how quickly this time has gone, especially since there's a possibility our babies will arrive in Jan, too! (I think you're due at the beginning of Feb. too right?)

@SweetMamaM: it's kind of crazy how hard and exhausting everything starts to get at the end. I forgot, but am remembering quickly now! All I want to do is sleep all.the.time.

@erinpye: had the worst afternoon at work, don't even get me started. I just need to hold out for the next couple of weeks... Going on early leave now would mean basically 1/2 pay from now until baby is born and shorter paid maternity leave after. Just need to breathe and get through it.

I am so over the pain. Lower back, tailbone, butt, hips, legs... Can't walk far, can't stand long, can't sit, can't sleep... How does one find a comfy position these days?!

Sorry just having a little rant.

@SweetMamaM: you can do it! You're so close and you'll be so glad to have your full time off!

@Mrs Music: I hear you! So uncomfortable right now!

@erinpye: Yep, I'm due Feb 2 so there's definitely a real possibility that baby could be a Jan baby (although I'm hoping not)!

So I just had a lovely (not!) 24 hour stay in Labor and Delivery because my lower back and abdominal pain were so excruciating But they did a gamut of tests and didn't find anything, and I really like my OB and his team and they were very thorough, so I suppose I'm thinking "no news is good news" at this point. Home, hopped up on Vicodin, and attempting to work on term papers! So I definitely commisserate with all of y'all who have serious third-trimester pain. Hoping mine doesn't get to the levels it was at before...worst pain I've ever had!

    cherry / 212 posts

@ILoveLettie: Oh no! That sounds terrible, poor you Glad they couldn't find anything wrong though - no news is definitely good news, but that must be very frustrating. I hope you start to feel a little (a lot) better soon.

Ill be 30 weeks on Thanksgiving. I'm gonna be giving thanks to having only 10 weeks left. I've been having horrifying BH contractions. I'll literally end up on the floor writhing in pain. Got a Drs appointment a week from Wednesday so I guess I get to talk to him about the excruciating contractions. I went into early labor twice with my first. Good thing my appointments are only 2 weeks apart now.

@ElbieKay: I'll be joining you tomorrow. It's suddenly all speeding by much more quickly! Can't believe we've reached the third trimester already.

Ugh, does anyone else have bad nasal congestion? I'm taking loratadine to combat hay fever and doing saline rinses but my nose still feels annoyingly stuffy. So annoying!
@ElbieKay: it is hard to believe that we've got between 10-15 weeks left to go!

  24. ElbieKay

    pomegranate / 3231 posts

@SweetMamaM: Yes, my congestion has gotten worse over the past few weeks. My husband has asked me every day for a week if I have a cold. Finally this morning I pointed out that I keep telling him I'm not sick; I'm just pregnant.

So sorry to all you ladies who are having bad pains Ill commiserate and say that I have the worst Hemmorhoids Ive ever had!! Tucks to the rescue! Haha.

Also, something happy: we had our baby shower! Such a fun morning w friends and family. We were spoiled! Feeling very thankful. Here is our stroller!

@citymouse: Love the stroller!! Glad that you had a wonderful shower!!

30 weeks today. Holy shit. Only 10 weeks left to go.

@MrsKoala: We must have the same due date! It's totally crazy to be 30 weeks...after today we're in the single-digits of counting down week numbers...holy crap indeed!!!

@ILoveLettie: Feb 2! Super Bowl Sunday! It's crazy to think that it will be single digit weeks from now on!

@citymouse: We have pretty much the same pram! Ours is a Steelcraft Strider Compact - Australia is Britax's test market and test drives their newest products here under the name Steelcraft before they release them to the general market. I'm not sure if the B-Ready is the same as the Strider Compact (the Compact only came out a year ago) or the same as the previous model, the Strider Plus, but either way, it's an awesome pram. We LOVE it!!! Nice choice

@MrsKoala: @ILoveLettie: I'm 30 weeks tomorrow and can hardly believe it's already single digit weekly countdown! I'm in full on nesting mode but all just fun crafty projects, nothing that actually needs to be done for the baby. I don't think we really have much to do though - we're renting an infant capsule for the car, which I can't do until closer to the date, and we still have to buy the second seat for our pram, but other than that, it's just a matter of setting up the pack-n-play in our room and moving the change table out of LO's room. I have all LO's newborn and 0-3 clothes washed again, as well as new outfits for both a boy and a girl, and all of our newborn essentials are in a Rubbermaid container, ready to use and just waiting to be pulled out of LO's closet when needed. I feel like I should be doing so much more!

@Ree723: Happy 30 weeks today! I wish I could get the nesting mode going but I'm just feeling plain old lazy. Maybe it will kick in soon? I'm a little jealous that you are mostly ready!

  31. ILoveLettie

    kiwi / 566 posts

@Ree723: Happy 30 weeks! I'm jealous of your nesty-ness too: I just did the dishes, but it was definitely more out of a feeling of obligation than nesting With this darn pain it's so hard to do anything, even just sit in an office chair at the computer!! Luckily, I don't have that much to do either--and the things I do have to do, baby-related, involve sorting gifts and such and buying last-minute things post-shower, and since we haven't had our showers yet that's not really possible.

Speaking of, I got our first shower invitation today!! It's for December 21st at noon--I'm so excited! We're actually having three baby showers because our family and friends are spread out and no one wanted to throw a huge shower--the one in December is for our hometown family friends, mostly people (read: adorable old ladies) at the church I grew up at and my high school friends (it's being co-hosted by one of my best high school friends who I've known since I was 3--we're both 22 now, and my little sister).

Also, I have an OB appointment today...the first of the every-two-week appointments. I'm sure it's going to be nothing exciting, since I just saw this doctor at labor & delivery last week so it's just going to be a follow up ("is your pain gone?" "no." :P).

@MrsKoala: Yes, Super Bowl Sunday! Crazy! Super Bowl Sunday is actually the biggest holiday in my immediate family--my dad's birthday is the 30th of January and my mom's the 7th of Feb., so we've always celebrated both their birthdays on Super Bowl Sunday and it's been a bigger deal than Thanksgiving and Christmas. It'll be so weird missing it this year; but hey, maybe if she's born before the game but near her due date we can catch some of it at the hospital

@ILoveLettie: How cool that your family really celebrates it for your parents' birthdays. My husband was both excited and upset about the Super Bowl due date until he realized there is probably no way that the Giants will make it. Now he's just excited!

I have pain running down from my shoulder down the length of my arm... its like pain, tingling and numbness all in one.. could it be carpal tunnel? I googled and it never mentioned the shoulder so I wasn't sure.

@Mrs Music: I have that from time to time. Maybe you pinched a nerve sleeping on your side?

  37. Ree723

    grapefruit / 4819 posts

@Mrs Music: I've had that before too, lasting for a day or two. I think it was just a pinched nerve from sleeping funny (I am not usually a side sleeper but of course with pregnancy, it becomes inevitable!). I don't think it's carpal tunnel but if it's not better in a day or two, I'd check with your GP. It is super annoying though, I'm sorry.

@MrsKoala: You've still got time, not to worry! And you're working, which makes it so much harder to find the time to do everything! With my first, I never felt ready as I just didn't know what I was going to need. This time, I'm just like meh, whatever. Newborns are pretty simple in their needs and I know what to expect, so it takes a lot of the pressure off!

@ILoveLettie: Exciting to get your first shower invitation! Will be a great start to the Christmas week celebrations I'm sure!

@citymouse: yay for baby shower! How exciting!

@MrsKoala: @ILoveLettie: @Ree723: congrats on thirty weeks! It seems so far away still for me, but it's only two and a half weeks!

    @MrsKoala: @SweetMamaM: thanks ladies!

@Ree723: oh interesting, I didnt know that! I bet its the same. I wish that all models were available in every country. We went to Scotland earlier this year and I saw a Britax that was just like the B-Ready but it had a 3 wheel frame, which is my only wish for the B-Ready. I even called Britax to ask if I could still have it!
