@SweetMamaM: I feel like 2 1/2 weeks goes by SO FAST during pregnancy. It sounds so cliche but it seems just yesterday I was excited about viability (24 weeks) and not that long ago that I was so excited about halfway (20 weeks). And I'm sure the holidays will make it go even faster!!
Uggh, I had an eventful evening last night and not in a good way My husband and I share a car, and it stopped working. We have no idea what's wrong with it. Luckily, it broke down IN the Midas parking lot (we saw that the check oil light was on so we were there to get it checked out but the garage had just closed, and our car shut down there :(). Luckily I had a friend from church in the area who could drive us home, and now I'm just waiting to hear from them this morning to see if they can fix it and how much it's going to cost us!! We were planning to go down to my in-laws this afternoon and were really looking forward to it, but we may have to wait til tomorrow. Blaaahhh.

@SweetMamaM: Same! Sometimes I feel like everyone else is progressing in their pregnancies and I'm stuck. I have to remind myself that that's not true. Lol

Stopping in and saying hi, feeling overwhelmed with work, the upcoming holiday and the everyday life.
I'm loving the fact that baby girl is so active and love the fact that I can see movement from the outside.
Hope everyone has a relaxing thanksgiving.

@matador84: I just wanted to check in and see how your back is feeling! Has the support belt helped??
I also noticed that we've both been back and forth between the March and Feb. boards!

Balls! I had a bad appointment today. I failed the non-fasting screening test for GD so I'm back this Saturday to do the fasting two hour diagnostic test. On top of that my iron was through the floor, I guess that explains why I am so tired
grapefruit / 4819 posts
@SweetMamaM: Oh no! I'm sorry I know it sucks that you have to do the diagnostic GD screening test now, but as someone who just did it last week, I can honestly say it's not that bad. Apparently something like 20% of the population fails the one hour test but less than 3% actually have GD, so the numbers are in your favour. Still though, I'm sorry. I'm also sorry your iron is so low - no wonder you've been feeling so run down! That on top of end of year craziness is never a good combo. Hopefully you can find a way to get it up easily and start feeling good again!

@SweetMamaM: That sucks! I passed the glucose screen but got the same news about iron on Monday. I need to buy a supplement. My doc said to take 325mg/day.

@SweetMamaM: aw sorry about both of those thing I hope the second one isn't as bad and you pass with flying colors.
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
@SweetMamaM: Lame!! I hope you pass your second test. I have low iron too. I had mine before I was pregnant though. After you get that supplement you will feel much better! I hope it makes you feel better.

So, I know it is recommended that you lay on your left side to help with circulation and such, but this baby HATES it when I lay on my left side. Like punching me so much that I cry out in pain. As soon as I flip to my right, the baby settles. Still kicking but not in a "must push back against whatever is pushing on me as hard as I can" kind of way.
Anyone else's baby favor a side or position?
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
@citymouse: My baby only seems to settle when I lay on my back at night...which hurts. Lol. Whenever I'm on either side he kicks and punches for quite a while before he settles.

@Honeygold89: My class is also finishing late. It finishes the 4th of February and I'm due the 26th cos they don't have any December classes which is when they recommend I take them (during week 28-32).
@citymouse: @Danizaur: My baby doesn't have a favourite side but I'm normally a side sleeper. I do find she kicks alot if I don't have a pillow under my belly to support it maybe you could try that? When she does kick alot though I usually tell her "mummy needs to sleep now so you need to too, you can kick me in the morning"... she usually settles in a minute after that.

@Mrs Music: Im starting to think its because the baby is laying transverse and their head is on the left side. Is that crazy?
cherry / 209 posts
@citymouse: Not sure... I don't actually know how LO is lying but she usually seems to be on my right side and alot of times I think her butt is right next to the right side of my belly button.. makes my stomach lopsided.
nectarine / 2527 posts
@Mrs Music: the thing about it is my last class is feb 9th which is a Thursday and that next Thursday the 13th I'm due so we'll how it goes I kinda want home to be right on time and not early or late anyways so fx
@citymouse: @Danizaur: @Mrs Music: I'm a wild sleeper so I usually fall asleep on my right side and when I wake up I'm usually on my left side or my back but his kicks doesn't bother me when I'm trying to sleep even when their wild

I hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving and maybe caught some good deals.
We got out stroller/car seat combo yesterday night for $99
And believe it or not it wasn't too bad because everybody was focused on getting tvs not strollers
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
@citymouse: I think mine is transverse as well! Either that or my kid is already super long, haha.
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
@Honeygold89: I was considering going for it but I avoid Black Friday sales like the plague. All our extra money is going towards christmas presents anyway...I really didn't have $99 to spare even for a good deal. Glad you got it! It was a good deal!
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
@Honeygold89: way to go on the stroller/car seat combo! I'm on a shopping ban until after the baby shower.

@citymouse: @MrsKoala: T has been head down since 14 weeks but I'm wondering now if he has flipped! I felt some crazy rolling around the other day and now I'm feeling movements on both sides of my belly, like his head and feet stretched out maybe? I don't know. Can't wait to go back to the dr and ask.
pear / 1531 posts
@Danizaur: I get ultrasounds all the time, and the two times I thought baby flipped I was right!
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
@raintreebee: I'm hoping he hasn't! It figures he would be nice and head down the whole time and then flip as we get into the last stretch!
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
@raintreebee: very interesting!! I've felt like baby was transverse for a bit but a couple times I've felt a crazy movement downward and wondered if baby flipped. I'm pretty sure we are back to transverse, though. I am bad at being able to tell what's what aside from limbs.

@Danizaur: @citymouse: thanks
@MrsKoala: thanks and everybody keeps trying together on me about shopping to and tell me to wait til after the baby shower but it's not til jan 11th and to me that's so close to my feb 13th due date so I atleast want to have the big things we need just incase we don't get them at the shower.
N has been head down too since 15 or 16 weeks from what I've known but I don't think he has flipped but I do feel him moving everywhere but I just assume he's moving them legs all over
grapefruit / 4819 posts
@Honeygold89: Wow, that's an awesome deal! Well done on scoring such a great purchase!
@raintreebee: Interesting! I always assumed I'd be able to feel if the baby had flipped and am glad to hear it was true in your case.
My LO has been head down since they started feeling for its position and I'm 99% sure it's still that way. I feel little feet and legs near the top of my belly and can feel more substantial body parts (torso, head even?) down low. Hoping he/she stays that way - DD did my entire pregnancy so hopefully this one follows suit!

I don't know where else to whine about this so I'm doing it here. I've got my gestational diabetes test in half an hour (9:30 am) and I've been awake since 7am and I am starving I can't believe it's going to be another two and a half hours before I get anything proper to eat.

Eeeeks! So excited! Just hit the "purchase" button on our first set of diapers!
We are doing Cloth Pre-Folds. We ordered 24 Size One Pre-Folds from Green Mtn, 4 Thirsties Snap Covers, 24 Cloth Wipes, and 3 Snappis. They were having some good sales today so we decided to go for it! $125.00!! And, fingers crossed that this gets us through the first 6 months, give or take depending on how big our baby is.
I can't wait to get them and prep them. For the covers we picked Honeydew, Storm Cloud, Aqua, and Mango. Team Green!

@SweetMamaM: ugh that is horrible! I hope you are able to get through it and eat soon. Crossing my fingers for you!

@citymouse: @MrsKoala: @Honeygold89: I survived! Had brunch/lunch with the hubby and now back at home feeling the crash. Now it's just the waiting game... Do dee doo doo.
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
@SweetMamaM: Good! I didn't have to fast but I really limited what I ate beforehand...normally I shovel lots of filling food in and I had to keep it light! That was hard so I know fasting had to be rough. Hope you pass!
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
@citymouse: Woohoo! Still kind of disappointed that we aren't CDing. Since I'm going back to work and was already on the fence we decided not to. Sometimes I wish I was!
persimmon / 1116 posts
@Danizaur: I probably would be doing the same as you if I worked outside our home. I only feel comfortable doing it bc Im home all day!
