I am starting to hit 3rd tri issues like I did with ds! Terrible heartburn keeping me up at night, major bad insomnia...so tired during the day!
I just think now how tired I am, I'll be 10x more when dd arrives!
pear / 1531 posts
@matador84: Me too! I basically am awake two hours every night for one reason or another--heartburn, sore hips, you name it. So thankful for having gotten this far, but it is as uncomfortable as they say! I also feel like my appetite has completely fallen off because there is no room in my stomach!
clementine / 984 posts
@citymouse: LO is like that, too. Left side is okay to fall asleep on, but I wake up every night/morning at least once with her trying to push off the mattress (through my stomach, baby, gaaah!). Any time I flip over, though, she hustles around, too. So there is no winning. LOL.
@Honeygold89: We have like a week of "baby bootcamp" we've dubbed it in mid-Jan, about a month before due date. Tues is DH's daddy class (dudes only, pretty cool), Thurs we have breastfeeding class together, and Fri/Sat is our weekend Lamaze class. Cap it off Sunday with a baby shower and a BIG, LONG nap! Hahah. The next weekend is my individual BF class and then a Saturday hospital tour for us to get familiar w/ the rooms an policies. So many classes!
@SweetMamaM: Good luck! I hope it all went well. I have my screening next week (29 weeks, but the Dr didn't seem too concerned).
@raintreebee: I'm always a night-owl (except early pregnancy when I slept all. the. time). But my hips are hurting a lots more this last week or two if I don't have my pillows properly tucked, so I end up getting less sleep than usual. Boo!
My biggest complaint right now is night leaking. I reaaaaally hate sleeping with a bra on, but I've started leaking through my shirt the last few nights. I may have to give in to 24/7 breastpads soon.
Is anyone doing maternity photos? We've got ours scheduled for the 21st…I'm curious to see what I'll look like at that point! Hahah. So far I've had a very easy pregnancy and I'm all belly, but who knows what can happen between week 28-31. Either way, I've already promised myself and my LO/future LOs to not have any body shame during pregnancy.

@citymouse: we're doing cloth, but on the recommendation of a class, starting in disposables with an afternoon trial nappy of each of five different kinds and seeing which works best for us and our baby.
@matador84: @raintreebee: I wake up pretty much every time I roll in bed (I want to say once every couple of hours?) and I certainly can't stay on my left side the whole night even though it's the "better" side - hips get way too sore.
@indi: we're doing maternity photos mid-Jan (around 34 weeks). I think it is important for me as I've really struggled to connect with this pregnancy as a "beautiful" experience.
pear / 1739 posts
@raintreebee: I have the opposite eating problem. I am constantly hungry. I can never eat enough. Ill feel full and then a half hour later im starving again
@SweetMamaM: I've never felt my pregnancies to be a beautiful experience. I was supposed to get married a week ago but couldnt fit in the dress. Since it was just a small wedding it was easy to cancel and we moved the hall rental date to the date of my baby shower. But over all I got a dress that should have worked while being pregnant and it doesn't. That really put a damper on everything.

Is anyone else having super painful contractions? I have a drs appointment Wednesday and we get to set up another ultrasound. Been having these contractions since I slipped and tried to steady myself with a car door. The door ended up going into my belly. No bleeding and the baby is still moving but they are going in for a deeper check

@SweetMamaM: @littleblessings: Thank you for saying this! My pregnancy was certainly planned, etc., but I do not feel terribly connected to my baby yet. And while I have been lucky to have a relatively easy pregnancy, I still feel somewhat crappy and pregnant, which sucks. The occasional kick does NOT really make up for the poor sleep and loss of ease of movement. The anticipation of giving birth and being a mom has caused me a lot of anxiety and mild depression. I am pretty confident I'll be fine once the baby gets here and everything is more tangible, but in the meantime I have been in one helluva mood.
pear / 1739 posts
@ElbieKay: I know what you mean. You can't move. I for one feel like a whale which is simply unattractive. DH tells me I am beautiful all the time but I just can't believe it. I don't feel like it. I see other pregnant women and think 'Awwwww so pretty' and then I see myself and wonder why I can't look like that. The other pregnant women are prolly thinking the same thing. Its just a time of discomfort and lack of self esteem. After you have the baby you won't have that self esteem back right away because you have that stretched skin that has to go back into place but within that first month after the baby is born you should feel good again.

I'm with you ladies lamenting a little in the last few posts. I told a friend today I think I complain more than any other pregnant woman in the world- I'm so over it! I am getting more and more exhausted chasing DD, don't sleep well, have heartburn that makes me vomit, STILL have nausea. The list could go on, but I knew what I was getting into this time and still think it's worth it. Hitting 30 weeks over the weekend made it seem like the end is near at least!
papaya / 10560 posts
@erinpye: I know, it is pretty sad! Once the end is in sight, I try not to complain as much. It's definitely harder having a little one to chase around. When I was pregnant with my first, I pretty much was able to lay on the couch my whole third tri. I feel like if I sneeze, I'm going to pop this baby out I'm so wiped out by the end of the day!
i'll be 28 weeks on thursday!

Too many replies to try and catch so I'll just catch up in general!
Yes I'm sleeping poorly too...I'm up every so often whenever I need to turn over because of pain, having to pee, etc. ugh. I can't get enough to eat and my body is showing it. I told myself I wouldn't have body shame during pregnancy but I can't help but feel FAT! I love my big belly but hate everything else. Sex is non existent. I believe the last time we attempted it was at 20 weeks but it was painful and we had to be super gentle, which is no fun. I keep rejecting him every night because I feel ugly and even if I force myself I don't want to have bad sex and disappoint him. Hating that.
Very tired and lots of pain. I've had an easy pregnancy so far but I'm definitely getting OVER teeing pregnant. Ready to be done but not close to being ready for T to arrive. We are so far behind.

Yikes! I'm sorry so many of the Feb mamas seem to be having a tough go of it recently. Hopefully a lot of the nasty aches and pains start disappearing for all of you soon! Regardless, the end is in sight...
My only complaint is more a worry than a discomfort - TMI alert: I'm 31 weeks today and for the last two weeks or so, I've been losing bits of my mucus plug here and there. From all I've read, it can regenerate itself and isn't hugely concerning but it still makes me slightly nervous that it's disappearing already! I have a MW appt next week so I'll ask about it then, but anyone else notice this happening a bit early?
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
@Ree723: Oh wow! Nope not experiencing that. Hope it works out well. Sounds like it'll be fine.
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
@Ree723: Whoa! I can't believe you are losing the mucus plug already! Let us know what the MW says about that.
I'm surprised about this but I'm actually feeling pretty good. A bit large and heavy but overall, the late second and early third tri have been great for me. I'm getting excited to be close to the end so that we can meet our baby. I just can't wait for it!
nectarine / 2527 posts
@indi: That sound like a lot at one time but at-least it'll be over quick our classes are for six weeks on Thursday nights. I want to do maternity photos but idk if we will or not I'll have to talk to DH to see if he wants to plus we need family pics anyways.
@littleblessings: I had BH only once and none since but I hope you start to feel better or the doc can give you answers at your appt on weds.
@ElbieKay: aw I hope you start feeling connected to baby soon but don't worry cause I'm sure as soon as LO comes you'll connect instantly, I have felt connected since out NT scan I think because I didn't worry about M/C anymore and now I don't have any anxiety about the actual labor but I'm do have some about not having everything baby will need even tho I know we'll get whatever he needs for sure after the baby shower in jan. Good luck!
@Mrs Music: aw I hope you feel better soon
@Danizaur: aw it's almost over now
@Ree723: wow I can't say that has happened to me I'll be 30 weeks Wednesday
As for me I feel good with everything my only complaints is having bad indigestion from time to time, getting hungry more right after eating, going to the bathroom all the time, and having a bad headache that lasted from Thursday until last night when I went to L&D to get everything checked and everything was fine with N but I was just dehydrated and it had my HR up so they gave me dome meds and hydrated me and sent me home and I've been feeling great since then just making sure I drink plenty of water now. I have a doc appt tomorrow.
I hope everyone starts to feel better soon
pear / 1739 posts
@Ree723: Yeah I have already lost my plug. Didn't hear that it can regenerate itself. I'm also dilating already. No surprise to me.

If I could give back one pregnancy symptom it would be middle of the night leg cramps!! They are a nightmare. I woke up last night whimpering and gripping my calf because I could feel the muscle knotted up underneath the skin. DH woke up and helped me massage it, but it's still sore today. I get them every other night.
pear / 1739 posts
@Danizaur: have you tried eating lots of bananas.? there is something in them that helps
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
@Danizaur: I started drinking a full glass of water before bed and the leg cramps went away. Are you hydrated at night? I know this will probably make you have to get up to pee more but that's much better than those cramps!
persimmon / 1116 posts
@Honeygold89: @indi: We decided to not really do maternity photos. We especially want newborn pictures and can't afford both. Newborn pictures won!
@Ree723: Eeeks!! Hoping yours regenerates. Let us know what the MW says!
@Mrs Music: Hope you feel better ASAP!
@Danizaur: Charlie horses are the worst!! I haven't gotten them yet, but I know that keeping hyper-hydrated and daily walking helps ward them off. Hopefully yours will go away soon!
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
@littleblessings: I eat bananas daily in my cereal at least but at the moment I'm visiting family and haven't eaten any. That could very well be why I had a wake up two nights in a row!
@MrsKoala: I went to bed last night fully hydrated so I dont know if that could be the problem or not.
@citymouse: I've been walking more this past week than I usually do but that hasn't seemed to help! I don't get them every night but maybe 2-3 times a week. I had one two nights in a row this week.
pear / 1739 posts
@Danizaur: With DD I had those cramps nightly and was told to eat bananas. Now im constantly eating bananas to prevent the problem. It has worked so far.

So I still haven't told people that I am pregnant. After my next ultrasound I am going to do my facebook reveal. Its a riddle and it goes like this
What happened in May but not in June or July?
What happened in September but not in October, November or December?
What will happen in February but wont happen in March?
What do you think?
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
@littleblessings: Sorry, I totally don't get the riddle. I'm bad at those kinds of things.
pomegranate / 3706 posts
@Danizaur: I get charlie horses often in the arches of my feet and my calves. It's counterintuitive and a pain to do when you're half-asleep, but get up and stand on it immediately. Take a few steps if you need to. That will stop the cramping in its tracks, and you won't have resulting soreness. Also, banana milkshakes before bed
clementine / 984 posts
@Danizaur: Youch, no fun! I have only had one of those, thankfully, but I woke up semi-crying and wailing and DH freaked out and thought it was "something cramping other than your leg. Thank God!" LOL. I hope you can get a fix of bananas soon.
@littleblessings: Hmm…I'm bad at this one. May is conception, Sept. is the sex ultrasound, and Feb. birth?
cherry / 209 posts
@Danizaur: I don't know if this will work for cramps but it helps some of my pains at night to put heat packs on them... this is getting harder as the weather gets hotter but it really helps me get more sleep.
grapefruit / 4819 posts
@Danizaur: @MrsKoala: @Honeygold89: @citymouse: Thanks ladies! I will definitely keep you updated on what the MW says next week.
@littleblessings: Dilating already? Are they at all concerned about preterm labour? I know people can walk around dilated some for weeks but this seems awfully early! Hope everything turns out to be ok!
@Danizaur: Ouch! I haven't experienced any leg cramps in pregnancy but I used to get them when I was younger. Potassium needs to be your best friend, and of course bananas are a great source! Also, you may want to try drinking a drink with electrolytes, like Gatorade - I've always found that helps as well.
@MrsKoala: Me too - feeling a bit large and heavy but overall pretty good. Just can't wait to meet our TG babies in a few WEEKS! Can you believe we can say weeks now without sounding crazy? 8.5 weeks (ok, one day shy of 9 weeks to go for me, and I think you have a day or two less than that!) left to go!
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
My mom bought extra bananas at the store today!! She's making banana pudding and got some extra for me to hopefully help with cramps. Sounds funny to say. We are staying with my mom for a week visiting out of state!
Which reminds me, I forgot to throw out the bananas at home before we left. They are probably super rotten by now. Great!!
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
@Ree723: It's just so crazy to think 8.5 weeks and that's it... I probably should set up the crib or something!
pear / 1743 posts
@Ree723: @MrsKoala: I don't think it's really sunk in how quickly time is flying... I've had a couple of "wow, that's so soon" comments lately but February 23rd seems so far away still. I think once the new year ticks around, it will seem more real - I hope so

Had a meltdown this morning because I got hardly any sleep last night due to sore hips/stuffed nose/stupid people getting their car towed outside my house at 1am. I wanted to take a sick day but my parents (who are staying with us) kept knocking on my door telling me to work because I take too much sick leave (due to the pains I've had in my hips). Still annoyed at them.
clementine / 984 posts
@SweetMamaM: I had my first "oh, holy cow, that's close!" moment today when I was relaying to one of my secretaries that a big trial go bumped to Feb. 18-21. Took me 3 times to be like, "Ohhhhh, I am likely NOT going to make that!" Dang it! Can't believe it's time to start shifting work over already.
pear / 1531 posts
@Mrs Music: that is so annoying of them! My hips have been killing me, and now I've re-injured my shoulder and can only sleep on one side so it's kind of a disaster. Going to the doc and PT tomorrow. Trying to sleep is the pits.
pear / 1739 posts
Appointment Update: because I fell last week I was sent for an ultrasound. Everything is perfect and LO is now head down like he is supposed to be. Heart rate was 159 bpm. I was worried because his movement was down quite a bit after the fall but he is alright. They were able to give me 4d pics. From the looks of it he looks like Daddy.
@indi: Correct!
@MrsKoala: Its like Indi said. Conception, anatomy scan, and birth
@Ree723: I went into preterm labor twice with DD. They stopped labor both times with a shot. Hated that shot. Preterm labor is inevitable with my body apparently. They said I don't have room for the baby to grow right so a movement just right will send me into labor. I was told before I had DD that I should never get pregnant because my lungs wouldn't have room to expand. They are at least trying to keep him in until I hit 36 weeks then they won't fight the labor after that.

Awww, so sweet. My form class (home room) kids organised a morning tea for me this morning, for our last day together. They didn't have any help, just did it all themselves. Not bad for a bunch of 14/15 year olds - I must have done something right!
nectarine / 2527 posts
So today I hit 30 weeks yay! I got my breast pump since I plan on pumping after about 6 weeks but I have to say today he's been hurting me when he moves kind of like he's using his elbows or knee to scrap me it's crazy but it's not real pain but enough to caught me off guard and make me say ouch
