Realised I haven't checked in in a while. Had my last monthly appointment and now down to the biweekly - eek. Feels a bit "real". Passed the GD test, iron levels are ok, and now I really really really need to choose a midwife group and hospital down here in Massachusetts. That last drive to Maine, in a Winter storm, just reinforced that I can't rely on being able to make it there for the main event! Otherwise feeling good just a little tired.

Good to see things seem to be mostly going well for everyone. Love the pictures of LOs faces. So cute

@MrsKoala: You may not get any more u/s. If I hadnt slipped into a vehicle I wouldn't have had any more pics.

@SweetMamaM: My DD was like that during her ultrasounds. The only one I had gotten of her with her hands away from her face, she had her eyes open. Scared the poo outta me. Lol.

@Honeygold89: Awwwww so cute. love the little hand. =)

@citymouse: Oh no!! I'm sorry The three hour test isn't fun but hopefully you get through it easily and pass with flying colours!

@honeygold89: I love the photo of your LO's hand up by his face! It's like he's weaving to mummy and daddy already!

@Danizaur: Oh my gosh, too funny! I wonder how your baby is laying that you only feel them in your butt!

@OldEnglandMama: Glad to hear you're feeling well, and yes, it's crazy to think we're down to fortnightly appointments now! Hope you find a practice you like in MA - definitely don't want to have to worry about driving through winter storms! It's funny, Feb babies for most of you means worrying about potential snow and ice storms, whilst here, I'm worried about cyclones (hurricanes) as Feb is prime season for them!

@littleblessings: lol thanks the tech was like whoa he's gonna a have big hand and DH held up his hands and she was like yep those are your hands lol

@Ree723: thanks but he was really covering his face cause every time the tech tried to look at his face his hand went up lol I love him already.

I have another US on the 26th just to check his growth cause in the beginning of my pregnancy they thought I was going to be high risk cause I was over weight so my MW wanted me to see a high risk doc too which worked out cause I haven't had any problems but they give me US every so often I have had 5 so far one at 5w,9,12,18, and 26 and like I say my next is the 26th of dec.

@Danizaur: @OldEnglandMama: that's funny my LO has hiccups all the time but I just feel them in my lower stomach.

@Ree723: Lol I'm wondering that too! I'm guessing that means he's still head down! It sure is a funny feeling.

Today I am 30 weeks! Finally in the last stretch!!

@OldEnglandMama: If you are near Boston, my sister used to work at BWH and I've heard nothing but good things about it. Not sure about any midwive's groups up there but thought I'd pass that along. I bet @lavender: has some suggestions/recommendations, too!

@Danizaur: That is too funny that you feel the hiccups in your butt! Kind of adorable. Only 10 weeks left!!!

@Ree723: Eeek, cyclones sound far worse than a bit of snow! Fingers crossed the weather is just fine for all of us. @Honeygold89: I think LO likes hanging out by my butt - it's where I feel most of everything (kicks, hiccups, dancing (I swear that's what's going on sometimes). I never feel anything high up.
@Danizaur: Yey for 30 weeks! I'll be joining you there on Monday. We are definitely in the home stretch now. I can't believe how quickly time is flying now.

    @lavender: @MrsKoala: Thank you!

I finally made a decision today. I picked Reliant Medical Group (based out of Worcester, excellent reviews, large group of midwives, multiple office locations, well reviewed Obs that they work with). They deliver at St Vincent's in Worcester (small but seems nice from what I've heard/read - also might be where DH ends up for some of his clinical electives next year!). We did seriously consider hospitals in Boston itself (since they're amongst the best in the nation, including BWH) but ultimately I didn't want to worry about traffic. We live ~40 mins outside the centre of the city if traffic is good - not so much if it's bad!

@Ree723: just read about your fall! be careful. I'm trying unsuccessfully not to carry my 31 lb toddler. Hard not to, though.

@IcebergMom: great news about the VBAC, hope things go smoothly for you!

I did it! Now hoping that I actually pass!!

It wasn't terrible, but I think that's because DH was with me. If I got too bored we would chat for a bit. I just demolished a gigantic bowl of Chicken Salad (Light Mayo, Dijon Mustard, Grapes, Celery, Shred'd Chx), Almonds, and guzzled 50 oz of water. I actually feel pretty normal, just a tad tired.

Ill let you guys know the results. Thanks for rooting for me!

ETA: The worst part was being stuck so many times. My arms are sore! Ive had blood drawn 6 times in the past 4 days

    nectarine / 2527 posts

@citymouse: that's good fx for good results and that salad sound like it was yummy. I had blood work but I don't think I have anymore to do now.

@IcebergMom: yay good luck with that

It's almost time to find out what the TG babies are I'm so excited to see what everyone is going to have!

@citymouse: Glad it's over! Hope you pass!

Any nesting mamas want to come clean my house? It's pretty bad! I'm not nesting yet...still just tired and sleeping a lot! (And eating. Muahaha)

  26. IcebergMom

    persimmon / 1295 posts

    @citymouse: good luck!
@Danizaur: will you watch my toddler? if so, yes! i'd rather clean for a day.
@Honeygold89: i cannot wait to know what i have! but i have to say it's keeping my shopping to a minimum! i haven't bought anything yet! but if i knew it was a boy (we have girl stuff already) i'd be shopping like a crazy person.

Thanks for all the vbac encouragement! the scariest part for me is that my hospital is an hour and a half away and i live in canada. hence i'll be on SNOWSTORM ALERT!

@IcebergMom: Yes! You can come over and I will babysit while you clean my house.

In other news that's non baby related in the beginning I told all you ladies about how this baby is DH and I both first biological child but he has an adopted 6yr old daughter with his ex. So I'll try to make this as short as possible, his ex has always been nasty since day one of us meeting, dating, and getting engaged so of course when she heard that we were having a baby that set her off because him and her never had kids other than the little girl they adopted I'm not even sure if she'd can have kids but she has made it so hard for me and DH to be in his daughter life she wouldn't even tell him what school she moved her too after she we started reading her books and signing her agenda book every weekend and then last Sunday her and her mom started calling DH making threats and saying that they were going to send the police and children and families to our house because the little girl had a small mark on her arm from where I pinched her after she stuffed all her food in her mouth. So they really did the police showed up and actually arrested me because there was a mark but he was real nice and he said he knew it wasn't intentional like they were making it out to be but he had to do his job which I understood but imagine bring arrest for something so stupid and let alone being almost 31 weeks pregnant ugh I got right out but it's the point of it. Then children and families showed up to talk to me and DH about it and see where she was eating and sleeping when she came for the weekends and he told us he was very satisfied with everything and feel as though everything will be dropped against me and throwed out cause he knew it wasn't like I was abusing her liked they tried to make it seem and he let us know that now he's going to investigate her and her mom which is good because the little girl sleeps on the floor or couch because since DH and her split and divorce she has been staying anywhere that she could from her mom, sister, or friends she won't get her own place because she doesn't want to work she just lives off the money DH gives her every month for the girl which he did just for the girl cause he's not court ordered or anything to do so and me and DH talked about it and decided it'll be easier and much more peaceful not to deal with them anymore and he say he's going to sign over all his rights and just let his ex have them since she doesn't want him to do anything in the little girls life and when he called his ex to let her know that he won't be seeing her anymore she started calling him, his mom, and sis crying leaving messages about how he's being nasty and stuff like that but no one answered because she thought me and DH would breakup and his family would turn against me but she didn't realized that they all love me and really don't like her because of what she did to DH that caused their divorce (she slept with his bro and some people at the church and tried to sleep with his cousin and BIL she's really nasty) but it didn't work how her and her mom planned and for me it's bitter sweet because I loved that girl like she was my own I been in her life for the last 3 yrs me and DH got together when she was 3 but I honestly can say I feel a million times better knowing that I don't have to deal with that drama anymore and we can just focus on being the best parents for our son.

Sorry for the long story I just needed to get it out.

@Danizaur: I would caused I have been in overload mode cleaning even though I'm exhausted afterwards I just can't help it the littlest bit of dust has been driving me crazy now lol.

@IcebergMom: that's true but I love to shop that's all I have been doing since we found out it was a boy bug DH does get on me a lot and stop me from buying stuff saying to wait til after the baby shower in jan so I just pick up small things here and there so he doesn't notice if lol.

    persimmon / 1295 posts

@Honeygold89: wow! what a crazy and sad story. i hope you all find a way to get along. your DH's daughter must be so confused with all this negativity and change in her life!

  31. Honeygold89

    nectarine / 2527 posts

@IcebergMom: yeah I know she is but like DH said he loves her but he also love me and his son and has to do what's best for us all plus she already tried to get his sister in trouble before too saying that she beat the little girl and threw her in the closet and locked it which it's no way she would have done that so she's just been trying week after week to cause mess in all of our lives so as sad as it is to let her go after all this time it really is the best cause DH feels that next time it'll be him and he's well established and have a lot to loose so he's just done. He was so upset last Sunday night we they arrested me he cursed and that's not like him throughout this whole time of us being together I've only heard him cursed not even a hand full of times.

@Honeygold89: How horrible! I'm so sorry that you and your DH had to go through this and I feel so badly for that little girl.

  33. Honeygold89

    nectarine / 2527 posts

@MrsKoala: I know thanks and we both said that if they were to take custody from his ex and we don't have to deal with her or her mom will will most definitely take her back in with no problems but as long as she has to have some connect to his ex we just can't do it and his mom and sis feel the same plus my mom and dad cause they would watch her and let her spend the night whenever she wanted so she could play with my nieces like I say it's so sad and crazy now we're not even hoping to celebrate Christmas since she won't be here and the baby not here yet

    @Honeygold89: that's such a sad situation

Can someone please reassure me that it is completely normal to burst into tears every day at 30 weeks? I just feel like I am crying all the time. I do have a lot on my plate at the moment but I just feel like I can't keep it together at all anymore.

    cherry / 209 posts

@Honeygold89: That's terrible, I really hope a miracle happens and you don't need to resort to cutting your DH's daughter out of your life.

@SweetMamaM: I'll let you know tomorrow when I hit 30 weeks. I cried on the weekend but only cos I was in so much pain I couldn't sleep. I do not recommend organising a giant christmas event for 700-1000 people at 7 months pregnant.

  38. Honeygold89

    nectarine / 2527 posts

@SweetMamaM: aw it's is ok I have had my moments but I'm not sure if it's from the crazy situation but I'm 32 weeks on Thursday.

@Mrs Music: I hope so too cause I know it'll hurt him the most since they adopted her at 6 weeks and I only came in her life 3 years ago

  39. MrsKoala

@SweetMamaM: Totally normal to cry a lot!! I cry over the tiniest, most minuscule issue.

  40. artsyfartsy

    cantaloupe / 6692 posts

@SweetMamaM: Yes! Im sure you have more reason to cry than I do but I get upset over everything! The trash not being taken out last night got me. Lol

Got a doctors appointment today! Just a check up. LO is kicking away this morning. This is also my last monthly. I'll do twice monthly appointments from now on. Yay!
