@indi: I know you're pain.. my LO is constantly on my right side!
@Danizaur: have you tried a saline nasal spray like Fess? Its like the only thing you can use during pregnancy.. it makes your nose abit runny so you can try and clear it up and its supposed to make your sinuses moist... I find though that if it doesn't help the moistness... to use fess nasal gel... worked wonders for me when I got the flu and a cold during pregnancy.

@Ree723: the Cotswolds would be amazing! Hope he gets it!
@danizaur: I agree, Fess saline spray has got me through this pregnancy. I've also taking loratadine on the advice of my midwife because my hay fever got so bad!
So funny, hubby and I are trying to work out our sleeping arrangements for this weekend - moving weekend. I've started sleep talking REALLY loudly during this pregnancy (no kidding, I once woke myself up) so during the week DH and I will have our nightly snuggle and then he'll head to our spare room and less-comfortable bed to get some sleep. We need to take apart our larger bed on the Friday night so it's all sorted for the movers on Saturday morning and so now I need to choose to sleep on the uncomfy bed (way too firm for my liking) or the couch... DH says he's happy to take whichever option I don't choose but didn't go for my "I'll just get a hotel room" option Oh the joys of the 34 weeks pregnant move - good times, I tell ya, good times.

Had my appt today and loved seeing the baby! The sono graphed was shocked by my edd of 3/8. She thinks no way since the baby already weighs four pounds and I have a very large belly on my tiny frame! She went back and looked at my sonos with DS though and my edd was 8/27 and I had him on 9/1. So it's really anyone's guess!!

@Mrs Music: @SweetMamaM: I've tried a nasal spray but it doesn't work for me. It just makes my nose burn and feel more dry and doesn't decongest me.

@Danizaur: use the fess nasal gel... sounds gross sticking it up your nose but it makes your nose so less dry.

@Mrs Music: I do the same with coconut oil. So weird to do, but I can sleep through the night without issue rather than bloody noses. Dang pregnancy

So my daughter has this fascination with eating my hair and rubbing her butt on my belly. Idk why she does it but it certainly is getting annoying. Especially when the but rubbing always has to be while im having contractions. Sorry just a little venting on my part. So ready for Feb. 11th to be here

@Mrs Music: my LO loves my left side it's weird.
@matador84: glad your appt went well.
@littleblessings: aw kids do the darnest and weirdest things but feb will be here before we know it.
Yesterday one of my friends who was due march 1st messaged me to tell me that she had lost her baby Monday at 32 weeks. She say the doc say it could have been a cord problem which caused him not to get oxygen but she won't know til Friday they're going to induce her and if the cord isn't wrapped around the baby they'll do an autopsy. I just feel so bad and heart broken for Hera d she say the hardest part is knowing she's going into labor Friday but won't be bring her baby home it's just awful and then she say she has no clue how to tell her 6 yr old daughter what that her brother won't be coming home because she had been excited the entire pregnancy. It's crazy cause she had a normal pregnancy this whole time and then all of a sudden he's gone. Everybody just keep her and her DH and DD in your prays cause I know they'll need all the strength and positive vibes they can get.

@Honeygold89: That's so heartbreaking. I cannot imagine the pain she must be going through. I'll keep her and the rest of her family in my thoughts and prayers

Well get to go to the hospital. Been having dizzy spells for a week. Staying hydrated and eating like they told me too. Its still not working. I don't understand and neither do they so the Dr. told me to go get checked out. I feel an IV coming on....

Hello Soon-to-be Mammas!
I haven't checked in for a while because things have been hectic! My original due date was March 5. In December, my amniotic fluid started leaking and I was admitted to the hospital for bed rest. After two and a half weeks of bed rest, I went into Labor and had my lovely, preemie baby boy at 31 +1 weeks on Jan 2. He's still in NICU, but doing really really well.
I would love to stay and follow this board because even though he's a January baby, his development will likely track with a late February kid for a while.
At the moment, I'm splitting my time between the hospital and running errands to get ready for his early homecoming. I just wanted to update the Bee because you are all always so supportive and comforting! Here's to happy, healthy ends of all of your pregnancies!

@littleblessings: Hope things turn out ok for you and baby
@math.nerd: Congrats on your baby boy! Hopefully you'll get to take him home soon
@Danizaur: How are you feeling, has your cold gone away yet?
Had an uneventful Dr.s appt today. Baby's heartbeat is steady at 140 BPM. Just plugging along...hopefully finishing the nursery this weekend

@lavender: I feel a little better! Can't shake this last bit of stuffiness. Making it hard to sleep.
Baby shower is tomorrow! We just finished decorating the party space. Very tired now but it all looks so good! Gonna eat something good and then take a nap.

@Honeygold89: that's horrible - honestly that is one of my biggest fears
@math.nerd: that must have been scary! A friend due end of Jan had her LO in early Dec and got to bring him home today - hopefully you can bring your wee one home in the not too distant future
@Danizaur: have fun at the baby shower!
AFM, just a quick note. We moved house today! I'm tired, cranky and hungry right now but I think this new place is going to be great once it is all set up. Hoping to have internet by Tuesday

@SweetMamaM: Yay for moving! I bet it feels good to have it over with and to be able to really set everything up for baby!

@Danizaur: yay my shower is today too and I helped my mom decorate meaning I decorated lol I'm kinda picky when it comes to decorating so I had to redo what she had done because I wasn't feeling it lol it wore me out but it looks good my shower starts at 2 I'm just ready to get to it now. Have fun at yours.
@SweetMamaM: it has been one of mines too so when she told me it got me so bad cause it was like I thought we were safe she was 32 week only two weeks behind me. I hope your unpacking goes smooth for you and not too stressful.

Shower went well!!! We got way too many clothes and only 6 bottles. And we got 3 of the same booster seat. Lol. So we have a lot of returning/shopping to do before LO's arrival. I didn't take any pictures...I have to steal some from my aunt who did for the baby book...but here is the cake which I fell in love with and was sad to eat lol. And a picture of our living room after we brought everything home.
I know I've been blocking out his name except for gold threads but at this point I don't care anymore. Lol

@Danizaur: such a pretty cake!
@Honeygold89: hope your shower was fun!
@SweetMamaM: can't believe you moved so late into your pregnancy, hope it wasn't too stressful.
All this baby shower talk makes me a bit sad that baby #2 won't be celebrated as #1 was. We do plan on having a combined sprinkle and 2nd birthday party in March- seeing that dd#1 bday is 4 weeks after my due date with #2.

@Danizaur: cute cake and yay for all the stuff. My shower was fun and better than I expected I didn't take any pics since I left my phone at home ugh bug a few of my cousins did so I'll try to get some from them now I'm glad it's over so I can finish up shopping and organizing my baby room.
@lavender: it was great thanks and I never realized before now that people usually don't have a shower for #2 but a sprinkle/ bday party should still be fun.

My auntie made this card for Noah and I thought it was just too cute. We got a good bit of stuff so we don't have much left to get plus with the stuff we already had and alone with all this stuff we got almost $300 in gift cards and money from a few people that couldn't make it. And some others say they'll be sending gifts over the next few week so I feel we definitely were blessed but I do have a big family so they all ways look out. And are all so happy and excited about this baby I think cause it's my first

@math.nerd: congrats on your baby boy! Hope you get to bring him home very soon!
@Danizaur: @Honeygold89: so glad you ladies had wonderful showers!
@lavender: I'm kind of bummed baby 2 doesn't get a shower too, but in truth I have no need for one since she's my second girl in under 2 years.

@erinpye: @lavender: I think I'll miss a baby shower too but it's not not realistic to ask for anything! If I find out it's a boy in this giant belly people can help with new clothes but we are all set otherwise.
In other news we're on a 3 night familymoon (did I just invent that word) and my LO fell out of bed last night! Poor girl! I'm a big fan of cribs forever! She's 2.5 and we still have her in a crib at home but thought she could handle one of the beds in the hotel room. she is ok! But I feel terrible.
pomegranate / 3706 posts
@IcebergMom: aww she's ok! Mine is in a toddler bed and fell out a couple of times at first- she slept through it once! It happens and I think it freaks is moms out more.
Enjoy your familymoon! Love the new word!

Well the hospital told me absolutely nothing about the dizzy spells. They drew 4 vials of blood blowing that vein in the process. All results came back normal. It took 4 tries to get the IV in before they finally got it. That blew another vein. After the IV I still went home dizzy. The hospital confirmed that Hunter has "dropped" and that his weight on my small frame is probably causing the dizzy spells. Have a OB appointment at 8:30 am tomorrow and I am hoping to get a better answer from my dr. Also, get to tell him my game plan. Get to have an early morning tonight. I just hope Scarlett goes to sleep before 3 am tonight/tomorrow. That's what she has been doing the last two nights. Granted Daddy was here for the last two nights and he doesn't get to come over often since he is constantly working and I still live with the 'rents.
Should have the apartment by Feb. 1st. Can't wait.
Anybody else get horrible contractions where you literally feel like the baby's head is pushing down?
pear / 1739 posts
@math.nerd: Congrats on the little boy. Good to hear that he is hear and doing fairly well for being a preemie. =) Enjoy him!
@Danizaur: @Honeygold89: Looks like your baby showers went well. I have mine this Saturday. Really hoping for a nursing cover. LOL
@lavender: My baby 1 never got celebrated. I feel bad because DD wasn't celebrated but I am thankful that DS is going to be celebrated. =)

@Danizaur: gorgeous cake - love the name! I think we're almost there with everything we need. Just waiting for the grandparents to finish off the refurb of the rocking chair, and I've been buying a few more clothes - we didn't get a lot!
@lavender: I think we're both suffering from late pregnancy move regret, combined with "DH not being able to take any time off work" regret. The teething issues with the new house we'd usually be able to overcome no problems, but DH is stressed out and I am tired and it's a really crap combination!
@Honeygold89: oh my lord, those little suits are to die for! How adorable! Sounds like you had a good time.
All moved into our new house, but several things went pear-shaped. First of all, I went to the midwife on Friday and my blood pressure had skyrocketed. I wasn't showing any other signs of pre-eclampsia though so she put through urgent bloods and urine but other than that, told me I needed to rest. Got the results back on Friday night (at 9, dedicated midwife) and everything was normal so just stressed by the move and by dad's minor surgery this week. Meant hubby needed to pack the last of the house by himself... love that man, but "chuck it in a box" method has been so unhelpful when unpacking.
Got to the new place, the movers did a great job but then we've noticed several issues with the place that we're going to try and have to fix before bebe comes along. We need to install a new TV aerial (which my dad, thank god, knows how to do - but will need to wait a couple of weeks until he has recovered from his surgery), do some minor renovations on the kitchen so that it is usable and get the hot water cylinder looked at (thank god landlord is paying for the last one!).
Not to mention that we don't have internet at the new place yet, so I'm currently sitting in a library accessing the information I need for various bits and pieces. Never never never doing this again. Ever.
On the upside, I finally got my paid parental leave form sorted (I've been waiting on this since OCTOBER) and I went and bought some cute baby clothes on sale to make myself feel better.
Thanks for listening to my whinge, ladies... I feel like the world's greyest cloud right now!

@IcebergMom: oh NO! What a little stinker! That is so something my toddler would do. I hope they find it and call you ASAP.
@littleblessings: you poor thing. Are you dehydrated at all? I hope you get some rest and start to feel better. And yes to contractions- I've had real back labor twice now, go strong for a couple hours and then stall. It's really frustrating.
@SweetMamaM: aw you're just exhausted. I think at the end we're all gray clouds. I basically complain every day these days. The good news is you're all moved!
pear / 1739 posts
@erinpye: No I am not dehydrated. I have been a little fishy and downing fluids like crazy. I told my Dr. today about the contractions and he is disappointed that it didn't send me into labor. With DD I had preterm labor so many times and then now with DS he just don't really want to budge.
Appointment update: He is barely measuring 36 weeks. Ill be 37 weeks on Thursday and his heart rate has decreased by 20 bpm. My OB said that it is normal with labor around the corner. OB says any day now just hoping I can make it past the baby shower and into February before that happens.

@erinpye: thanks
@IcebergMom: oh no glad LO was ok and ugh I hate to lose my wallet hope they found it.
@littleblessings: thanks hope yours go well and you get all you want and I hope your LO holds off until after feb.
@SweetMamaM: I know they are so cute but I already knew MIL would get him some since she kept asking did we get any church clothes yet but I wanted to wait cause I just knew she would get them lol. Glad the move went not too stressful and hope you can get all the little things done in time good luck bug still take it easy.

@Honeygold89: Thank you! I just want to get my apartment and get the kids rooms settled before he decides to arrive

My goodness, I get so behind on these threads!
@littleblessings: My LO loves to stretch her back and butt right into my bellybutton, so I feel ya, mama! I hope you feel better soon from the dizzy spells and head-butting contractions, but not so soon that you have a little one before your shower and your move!
@Honeygold89: So very sad for your friend, how heartbreaking. Glad that your shower went well, man, you got quite the gear! Hehe.
@math.nerd: Glad to have you here, I hope that you and the little guy are doing well! It'll be such a joy when he comes home.
@lavender: Same here…I STILL have nursery stuff to do. I just keep putting it off. But DH and I have scheduled the "final wrap-up" for the 25th, so no matter what, Baby Girl will have a room ready to go after that! I think a sprinkle will be a blast.
@Danizaur: Aah, naps are my new best friend again. Hehe. Your shower looked LOVELY and like so much fun. *and now I want cake* Have fun returning stuff and finishing up your purchases. PS- I love his name!
@SweetMamaM: Woot! Congrats on the move being done! I'm sure it's frustrating to have the extra stuff to do, but you're knocking things off the list and will be done before you know it! Glad all your tests came back a-ok!
@IcebergMom: Oh, my! I hope you find your wallet back! I hope the rest of the trip is more pleasant.
@erinpye: Hehe, you're right about the grey-clouds…I feel like Eeyore from WTP most nights (especially after trying to hoist myself out of bed). LOL!
AFM- I had my first shower yesterday and it was great! My BFF was the hostess with the mostess and had breakfast goodies, cupcakes, all sorts of juice and such and mimosas for the lucky ladies who could enjoy them. LOL. While it was a nice, tiny shower, I loved that I got to visit with some of my very best girlfriends for hours. One surprised me and drove 3+ hours up in terrible weather! And all my friends spoiled our little baby girl! I'm happy to see she got lots of books and a nice mix of practical items and toys. Our bigger family shower (on my side) is in a few weeks and I can't wait!
I'm feeling HUGE, but it was nice to get my "mom swimsuit" in the mail today. I can't wait to hit the (indoor) pool…nothing but ice outside. Haha! Hopefully floating around will help buoy my spirits for the last 5+? weeks until I get to meet the little babe.

@Danizaur: @Honeygold89: @indi: Looks like you all had great showers and got a great haul of goodies!! Hope you had fun!
@IcebergMom: Aww man poor girl! Hope she is still feeling okay! Not the best start to a family moon but I hope it got better!
@littleblessings: I'm sorry that they couldn't figure out why you are so dizzy but it looks like good things are happening with that apartment so at least you have that (and baby!) to look forward to shortly! No contractions other than random BH here.
@SweetMamaM: Sorry that the move didn't go all that well. BP issues suck. I've had a bit of work stress and that's made my BP higher than normal. Now I'm getting monitored twice a week and had to get blood work done today. Glad to hear that it went back to normal for you after your stress was gone and I hope that you get internet in the house soon. Isn't it funny how hard life can be without it?
AFM, BP has been higher than normal accompanied by headaches so I'm now going in to the office twice a week. So far, nothing to be alarmed about but I've been told to rest in the evenings. A couple ladies IRL and on another Feb group that I am in just had their babies and it has really hit me that I'm full term now and my baby could come ANY DAY NOW. Crazy.
