@Ree723: I know but I really want him to wait til after the 6th when I take my math final lol like I have a choice but we will see. And I wish I was getting the sleep you are caused tad last couple of nights I've been waking up with crazy random back cramps or whatever they are. I'm ready for a TG baby to come I can't wait to see who's having what.
@littleblessings: my bags are definitely packed and so is his baby bag.

So my friend that I told you guys about the other week buried her son yesterday and found out that it was a problem with the cord they say it was only like 6-8 inches long and had most likely moved into a position that cut off his oxygen from the cord she say when she delivered him the cord was so short that the placenta came out with him. I've been waiting to talk to her when she was ready and I guess she's ready but I'm glad she is and I can be here for her. She offered me his baby clothes which I for some reason feel weird and guilty about accepting but at the same time I don't want to turn them down and make her feel funny so I'll take them I mean it won't hurt to have more.

Long time no talk!!
38 weeks tomorrow and I feel like I am finally in a place where I am ready and wanting the baby to come out. For a while there I was just like, nope...you can stay in there for forever! But, I am now feeling ready.
SUPER curious about when I will go into labor. Its on my mind all day. Anyone else feeling like that? With any little twinge or new feeling my first thought is: does this mean labor might begin soon? Its hard to believe that my body knows what to do and will do it.
Congrats to the new Mamas!!

Goodness, I miss a week and we've got babies! Congrats, @littleblessings: and @raintreebee: !
I just got the info from my doula for a masseuse who has the belly cut-out table. I can't wait to schedule one, my waddle's gotten out of control. LOL. Under 4 weeks to go, it's crazy! DH is ready for her to get here at any time…I think he's more anxious for labor to be over than I am. Although, with my new mild swelling, I'm not as in love with pregnancy as I used to be. I still want her to bake longer, but I may be counting down the days now. Hehe.
We just got our maternity pictures back and there are some I just LOVE! Hope we can get them printed before LO gets here and we'll have her nursery all done.

It's almost our month and 2 babies have already made their early debut! Littleblessings and raintreebee let me know if I got the date wrong. I'm pretty sure I counted back the days right but I don't want to mess it up!

@raintreebee littleblessings Congratulations to the both of you on your arrivals!
I've been super cramps and having mild contractions since last night- nothing regular but it kinda kicked my butt into gear to get the last of the baby stuff outta storage today and I FINALLY finished the nursery!
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
@lavender: I hightailed it when I ended up in the hospital a couple of weeks ago to get done with everything...and now that I am it seems my contractions are slowing down! What!!?? Lol
Can't wait to see the nursery!

@Danizaur: remember math.nerd had her baby boy early on Jan 2nd.
@lavender: @Danizaur: I've been a little crampy too and last night/ this morning I was have crazy contractions in my back but they still didn't hurt just so uncomfortable but they wasn't consistent plus yesterday I was seeing bigger chunks of my plug coming out so we will see what Noah does. My next appt is wednesday I'm interested to see if I have dilated anymore.

@Honeygold89: Oh that's right!! I'll post a new list.
Exciting! Sounds like you're getting close. My contractions have slowed down. I only get a handful a day now. No other signs.

Hi ladies! Just wanted to pop in, I haven't been able to keep up with this board as much as I'd hoped. I can't believe we are almost to the end! I feel like it has gone by so fast!

@raintreebee: AHHH!!! Congratulations! So glad you packed your bags. I second the notion, all of you February mamas! My baby came early and I was not prepared. But everything still turned out ok

I love seeing the arrivals on the updated list! Yay babes!
Little update from me -- bag is packed AND my 2 year old was potty trained this week! I went for the straight to underwear/deal with accidents approach and it was great.

@IcebergMom: Yey that's awesome re the potty training! Well done little iceberg 1!
Well we had drama and a half last night. Yesterday afternoon, DH was studying and I walked into the room to ask him something and I went dizzy/blurry - kind of shimmery vision. He made me lie down, drink gallons of water etc. He'd left his Dr bag in Maine so couldn't check my BP or anything. I had no other symptoms and felt fine after 15 minutes or so. Then shortly thereafter got a headache.
Well that just tipped him over the edge and he was all we're calling the midwife right now. <sigh> So we did, better safe than sorry and all that - and she made me go into the hospital for a non-stress test. We didn't get home until 2.30 this morning - he had to call his attending and say he wouldn't make it in to the hospital in Maine today, and I am still not at work (and there's projects I want to finish before baby arrives).
Of course every single blood and urine test came back fine. Baby was dancing away in there. My blood pressure was perfect. I don't even have swollen ankles. The midwife was all, "well you're the best looking pre-eclamptic patient I've ever seen". Hah, I think DH felt a little sheepish to say the least - we all agreed that it was a bad case of med student-itis. But she did say we did the right thing, gave me tylenol and sent me home.
It was fun to get an extra long listen in on baby though! We passed the time playing them different music with DH's phone. (They prefer the Stones over the Beatles...) And on the plus side, we got to meet a lot of the labour & delivery team and really like them.

@OldEnglandMama: What a crazy night!
I'm feeling pretty good - need to get my bags packed - hoping to do that tonight! Have my 36 week apt tomorrow!

@IcebergMom: I'm jealous that your LO is potty trained. My lo is almost 23 months and has shown interest in the potty. So we pull it out and she picks it up and moves it to her playroom and uses it as a chair as she watches Sesame Street.
Still feeling super crampy with mild contractions and lotsa pelvic pressure. It's more annoying than anything, guess I'll bring it up at my Dr.'s appt on Thursday. I really hope this baby comes early and this isn't my life for the next 4 weeks.
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
LO is wedging himself in my pelvis! I have to sit with my legs open all the time or else I feel like I'm crushing him. Lol it's uncomfortable.
I'm glad he's getting in position for labor, I just hope I don't have to deal with this much longer! Next appointment is on Thursday. Can't wait.
persimmon / 1295 posts
@OldEnglandMama: oh no! What a night! Don't worry my hubby does the over anxious thing too! Sometimes too much knowledge is scary!
@lavender: Grace is now exactly 2 1/2 and fully communicative so I didn't push potty until now because a) I'm lazy and b) I wanted her to be able to talk/rationalize/understand potty before we really got started! But the potty had been in the bathroom since before her 2nd bday!
@Danizaur: hahaha terrible position! You poor thing. My back is hurting today but I think it's cause I was doing things I shouldn't: carrying my daughter too much, out spreading salt on the driveway ice, running errands, taking out garbage, cleaning house!
@theknest: I have my 36 wk appt tomorrow too. Yay.
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
@IcebergMom: Yay for DD and potty training! That is so awesome!
@OldEnglandMama: How crazy! I had something similar happen a couple weeks ago but it turned out to be a migraine! Hope that it doesn't happen again.
@lavender: Hope something gets going soon!
@Danizaur: Ouch!!
apricot / 453 posts
@IcebergMom - Yay for potty-training! I did it a few weeks back with our little guy (almost 2 1/2) - I didn't think he'd "get-it" but he's totally surprised me - we haven't had an accident in over a week! Of course people keep telling me that sometimes kids will "regress" once the baby comes....so lets hope that doesn't happen.

@IcebergMom: I love seeing the arrivals too! Congrats on the potty training!
@lavender: @Danizaur: I am with you ladies on hoping that this pain isn't for the next four weeks! Midwife appointment is tomorrow so hoping for good news... After our little visit to the breech position a couple of weeks ago, I'm a bit terrified that they'll tell me bebe is engaged but butt-first, irrational I know!
@OldEnglandMama: I can totally understand why hubby would have freaked out and better safe than sorry, right? That's what medical technology is for!
I'm really hoping this baby decides to come early. My pelvis is already separating (according to Chiro) and I constantly feel like I've been kicked right in the lady parts! It's so embarrassing - I went to lie on the couch yesterday and had to get hubby to lift my feet up for me, my pelvis was that sore! Trying to get 30 minutes of exercise a day is really hard too... Sorry for the whinge!
persimmon / 1295 posts
@theknest: I know! I'm hoping we won't regress either. But we'll have lots of help around the house so I am hoping she'll have lots of attention and positive reinforcement to keep going!
@SweetMamaM: I totally know what you mean about pelvic pain. It's so bizarre! Nighttime is worse. Laying down or in bed it's so tough. Everytime I roll or move position I hear "crack crack crack" and I feel like my legs are Barbie legs and could pop off at the joint any moment.

Wow 3 babies! congrats... and their due dates were all over the place... I didn't see mathnerd announce it so I'm assuming it was on a gold thread.
Last week of work for me. Praying that my baby won't move into position until after this week. Sounds so uncomfortable Danizaur!
Not long to go for all of us ladies!

38.5 week dr appt today- all is well, progressing faster than I did with DD1, although OB thinks I'll still be pregnant at my induction date a week from Thurs. So much false labor at night I'm not sleeping. Counting down the days! Can't wait to see more babies join our group!
nectarine / 2527 posts
@Danizaur: mines mostly come in my sleep it crazy I think he's going to wait until I go to sleep and surprise me lol. I feel you on sitting with your legs open I do the same and have to catch myself when I'm out and close my legs. I hope your appt brings good news. Fx
@indi: I hope you share some of your pictures. We have our shoot on Saturday I can't wait to get them over with and I hope they turn out good.
@MrsKoala: we will see I'm so ready to meet my baby!
@Springtime: Hi make sure you keep us posted.
@IcebergMom: yay and good luck with the potty training. Good luck at your appt.
@OldEnglandMama: glad everything was ok with you and baby, my DH is the same way especially now since he know we're close I snapped a little on him Sunday cause he was aggravating me a little and the first thing he said was are you ok? Do you feel alright? Are you having contractions? Lol I couldn't do nothing but laugh but every move I make if I look like I'm in pain or just a weird look on my face he ask me those questions and I'm like I'm fine lol so they're just excited and anxious for it all to happen. I think it's sweet.
@lavender: aw that's cute LO uses it as a chair to watch tv lol. Hope you have good news at your appt Thursday.
@theknest: yay for potty training hope your LO keep up the good work.
@SweetMamaM: I hope baby is in the right position for you tomorrow.
@Mrs Music: yay for your last week of work hope you get some rest before baby comes.
@erinpye: yay atleast you have a definite end date very soon that's so exciting.

@lavender: Oh my goodness!!! Good luck!!! Can't wait to hear that your little lady has arrived! Will be thinking of you....

I am so ready to get this show on the road... 39w1d now and my goodness were my hormones/emotions out of whack today! I was crying at everything, losing my patience with my 19 month old (it's a trying age, especially whilst nine months pregnant and basically solo parenting with a husband who is currently working 80 hour weeks not by choice), and just hating being pregnant. I remember something similar happened two days before I went into labour with DD, so maybe this is a good thing......
No pelvic pressure or contractions, just random cramping episodes and loads of BH. It is extremely painful though when DD tries to sit on my lap or climb on me, I feel like there's no fluid left inside to cushion the baby but I'm assuming there must be! Anyway, hope everyone else is doing alright!
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
@lavender: Good luck! I should have voted for you as next to go with all of the cramps you've been having!!
nectarine / 2527 posts
@lavender: yay how exciting congrats and good luck with your baby girl.
@Ree723: aw you shouldn't have much longer.
I'm excited for my appt tomorrow but I think I might get a little bummed if I'm still on 2cm and I don't know why cause I really want him to wait til after the 6th lol.
pomegranate / 3204 posts
I've been having extreme pelvic pain/pressure as well, it hurts to do anything! I had my 36 week checkup this morning and my first cervical check, she said I was 2 cm dilated. Wondering if I will progress any further or just stay the same!
clementine / 984 posts
@Honeygold89: @Springtime: My Dr won't check until 38 or 39 I believe, unless it's clear the baby is moving DOWN…which I am kind of happy about since I'm such a numbers nut. LOL.
I'm so excited to meet our next Feb babies!
I'm just hoping my little one holds out until at least next Thursday..I'll be 38 weeks on Wednesday and I have an amazing prenatal massage scheduled (the kind with the belly hole so you can lay on your stomach rather than side). Please stay cooking until at least 38w1d, LO!
nectarine / 2527 posts
@Springtime: yay for atleast being dilated maybe you'll go before your due date.
@indi: aw really my MW started checking at 36 weeks but I'm like you I'm ready for him but I want him to wait til after the 6th my last birthing class plus I have finals for math that day.
cherry / 209 posts
@lavender: Congrats Lavender!
@Ree723: aww. Not too long now... I was thinking at least Darwin hospital (like everything else in Darwin) is really close by.
@indi: Hope your baby behaves and comes out after the massage.
Wow so far there have been 2-3 babies born where their original dates were mid to late Feb...
pomegranate / 3231 posts
Congrats to all the new moms!
26 more days til my due date. I woke up with throbbing hip pain in the middle of the night, much worse than ever before. Looking forward to working from home tomorrow so I can hang out with our kittens and get my second prenatal massage. The first one helped a lot with my back pain so maybe this time she can work some magic on my hips. I also have bad knots in both of my calves, and she said last time that it was not a one-session fix, so maybe we can make some more progress.
I can't believe that my baby will be full term in five days. Tonight I am going to do a load of baby laundry and write my birth plan so that I can review it with my OB on Thursday.
My husband is on a business trip until Friday. I have no reason to think I will go into labor this early, but the kiddo better wait until his dad is back in three days!!!
