@Honeygold89: awww that's no good! I'm the same at the moment with water - always thirsty!

I have to admit it, I POASed again this morning just because it all seems so surreal! The test line was raving pink before the control line even appeared so that was nice. I have two more tests left and have a feeling I'm going to get through them before my doctor's appointment on Friday and my midwife appointment the following Monday.

@SweetMamaM: aw that's funny I did the same thing last night and it turned bright bold pink before the control line even showed up it was even thicker than the control line almost but I'm out of test now plus my first appointment is Monday and I can't wait

Also do you get so thirsty while you sleep that when you wake up your lips hurt and crack cause mine did it this morning even bleed a little and I drink a lot of water

@Honeygold89: yes, my lips are SO dry right now. I've had to get a cocoa butter lip balm and I absolutely smear my lips with it before going to bed. It seems to help.

I hear you gals on the drinking water. I have a 24oz bottle that I put 3 rubber bands on to track my drinking...I've downed 4 1/2 already today! My hubby can't believe how much I've been going through already.

That, and sleeping. I am dead to the world! I napped 2 hours today and missed 2 phone calls and a visitor knocking on my door. Whoops!

Glad to see I'm not the only one tempted to POAS again between now and my Dr apt.

@indi: That's a good idea with the rubber bands! I too am drinking sooo much water lately.
And I still don't feel pregnant at all. Not that tired, boobs are pretty normal, not constipated or the opposite, no MS, no change in hunger, etc...so I def POAS daily. I still have my 100 pack of wondfos so I feel no guilt.

I've actually been having an internal debate on whether to move my appt later. I'll only be 5w5d on Monday so I'm worried it will be too early to see anythig anyway and it will cause undue stress. Maybe I should move it a week later?

@AuntieEm: I have my first appointment this Friday at 5+6 but I know it's going to be super-basic, just registering my pregnancy with my primary care provider (GP/family doctor). I think it depends on what you are hoping to get out of the appointment as to whether you reschedule.

How is everyone sleeping? I feel like I've turned into a super-light sleeper, already missing my sleeping through the night! In saying that, I fell asleep on the couch yesterday afternoon so I'm making up for it!

@SweetMamaM: I'm sleeping deeply and soundly and often! Even with my crazy dreams I still sleep soundly through the night and nap during the day. I love to sleep.

@SweetMamaM: Well, my concern is that they'll do an ultrasound, say they don't see a heartbeat yet because its too early but then I'm still stressed over it. I had a MC in Jan and our first appt didn't go well. Heartbeat was there but I was measuring 5w6d instead of the 7w3d I should have been. A week later heartbeat was gone.
Well anyway it's too late to change now Its 4pm Sunday now and the appt is 10:30am Monday. Who knows, maybe all will be well. Maybe the opposite will happen and I'll be further than I thought! I'm probably overthinking everything.

@SweetMamaM: A couple weeks ago I was waking up an hour or two earlier than usual and had a bit of insomnia. Now, I want to sleep all of the time. Last night, I took a nap at 6 pm until 10 pm and then went back to bed from 11 pm to 8:30 am and I *still* feel tired!

@AuntieEm: If they offer you a scan tomorrow, I'm sure you could always opt out of it if you are worried about stressing yourself out. 5w5d is that crazy gray area where you may or may not see things and it's so hard not to worry if you don't see things, even though you know it's well within perfectly normal parameters! Fingers crossed it all goes well!

@SweetMamaM: I haven't had any trouble sleeping but my LO is going through a developmental burst right now and her sleep is rather broken, which means my sleep is rather broken too! Last night, she was up from 11:45-1:15 and then up for the day at 6:00. That's enough to make me tired full stop, but factor in pregnancy tiredness and I'm truly exhausted! Ah well...

Some of you ladies saw my post on my discolored CM on Friday evening. I havent had any since, but I do think I had one spot of brownish pink blood this morning. Its hard to tell bc most of my underwear has faint stains (AF is very heavy for me!) so it could have been a stain from before or a new spot of "old" blood. CM is still white/yellow tho. Still cramping randomly, but I have since week 4. Im going to either get my betas checked or go w/o DH to get an US, which I really dont want to do. Im calling tomorrow morning as soon as they open... Ill keep yall posted!

@SweetMamaM: Im a sleep monster. I take late evening naps almost every day and sleep 9.5 hrs a night. The first couple weeks I was sleeping lightly tho!

@citymouse: Keeping fx for you! I had the same scare this AM but it was a little bit of discoloration from an old AF visit. Sometimes the old hag sneaks up on us doesn't she maybe you could wear white panty liners to help distinguish if its something new (i.e. colored cm)

@citymouse: Sometimes implantation blood comes later. I had spotting at 9 weeks with my daughter and everything was fine. My mom spotted with both of her pregnancies around 7-9 weeks, too. Try not to stress!

@Danizaur: Yep, I already look pregnant, although it's my second and I popped right away this time. Didn't show until 20-24 weeks with my first. My bump has gone down a bit now that I've been so sick the last couple weeks though.

Still sick over here and canceling plans left and right. Sleeping every chance I get, desperately trying to get myself to eat and so far not so good. At the most, if this is anything like my first pregnancy, I only have 11 or so weeks of this left....ugh.

@sweetmamam: I cannot sleep enough. Fatigue seems to be one of the more major pregnancy symptoms I am experiencing, so I am trying not to complain too much since nausea has not hit one bit. I found that working out has helped with the need to take naps on top of my 9-10 hour/night sleep.

But, today is Monday and there is nothing I would rather do right now than go home and sleep.

Had my first ultrasound today at 7w4d. Saw the heartbeat and the bean is measuring on track! We didn't talk to the doc yet as she was delivering a baby but I will have a quick appointment on Wednesday for followup.

Talked with the on-call nurse. She said not to worry unless I start bleeding more than the size of a dollar coin and the cramping gets painful. It reassured me, but I am still very much looking forward to our appt in 2 weeks.

My cramping the past few weeks have been uncomfortable and annoying, and maybe a tad painful? They dont make me draw breath or make noise, but its still a little bit painful. What have your cramps been like? They have slowed a lot, to maybe 1-2 a day.

  29. MSBartlett

    olive / 73 posts

@citymouse: my cramping has slowed down a lot over the past few days and it only seems to creep up in the later afternoons. My cramping though felt like almost what it did right before AF started, so it was uncomfortable, but any cramping during AF was much worse!! This time around it is just a lot of bloat and pressure along with it. Not enough to be really painful, just uncomfortable.

  30. MrsKoala

    cantaloupe / 6869 posts

@citymouse: In the beginning, they were almost period like but not as intense. Now, I don't get cramping as often but they are little more twinge like and sudden lasting for any where from 10 to 30 seconds.

  31. citymouse

    persimmon / 1116 posts

@MSBartlett: @MrsKoala: Thats what mine are like too. Maybe Im being a baby?

  32. MrsKoala

    cantaloupe / 6869 posts

@citymouse: Oh def not! The only reason I haven't been a little worried about the cramps is the fact that I haven't had any spotting. If I had spotting, I probably would be freaking out.

  33. MSBartlett

    olive / 73 posts

I agree with @mrskoala. If I was spotting I would definitely be calling the doctor. But also my AF's were never really that bad, and I already had implantation spotting during the TWW, so if I got something now I would probably be freaking out. But I think that if the doc's are assuring you that the spotting is ok, I would not be concerned about the cramping. Cramping and fatigue are the only two real symptoms I have right now.

    Hellllllllo ladies!!!!!!!

Hi Ladies! So I'm going to give a quick(ish) update on my appt then I have to go back and read all of today's comments! You gals were active today
Ok, so as you may or may not know, this was my first appt with this OB ever. My last one was just really insensitive and had a 'churn and burn' mentality with her patients. This one is SO the opposite. She is the sweetest, most attentive OBGYN I've ever met (I'd say I've had 4-5 of them over the years due to moving, etc). She really took the time to listen and didn't make us feel rushed at all. It made DH not so mad about the wait we had beforehand - it made him realize its probably because she's trying to give everyone a fair amount of time He's a tough critic and he left the appointment really liking her too.

So, when I told her my LMP was May 15 and the first BFP was on June 8th she seemed pretty surprised (it was early, like 8dpo). Come to think of it, my PCP was surprised at that too. Anyway, based on that she said she thought I was at 6 weeks, I was thinking 5w5d. I told her my HCG #'s from my PCP's blood tests and she said they were excellent and a good sign.

So then we did the ultrasound. She did tell me beforehand that at this early there is a very good chance that we won't see anything but a sac. She said MAYBE we'd see the fetal pole, but most likely not a HB. Well all we did see was the sac - no fetal pole yet. But she said repeatedly that it is not unexpected at all this early. She measured the sac and said it was where it should be in the 5w5d range.
SO, she asked me to come back next Monday for another u/s because I'll be 6w5d-ish then and we should be able to see a fetal pole and possibly HB at that time. I don't think she is concerned due to what she saw today, but with the history of MC she wants to make sure its progressing. Which I appreciate, she knows it will make me feel better.
She also ordered a blood test within her office to check HCG again just to be extra sure (I should be at 7-8,000-ish) AND progesterone which I haven't had checked yet. I told her afterwards that I was worried I had low progesterone (someone told me recently that spotting before your period is a sign of low progesterone) and she said even if I do it is still early enough to go on supplements and all will be fine.

She told me over and over that everything is normal and to not worry at all. So, I'm really not that worried - just anxious for the blood work to come back in a couple days and the follow-up U/S. I knew going in that it was early so I'm actually feeling OK with everything. There's still that little tiny hope that maybe you're a bit further along than you thought and you'll see something But I knew that wasn't likely with my dates.

All-in-all it was a good appointment but not super exciting since we didn't see much. Either way, I'm so glad this is my new OB. She's awesome.

@AuntieEm: your OB/GYN sounds amazing! I'm struggling a bit around scheduling my appointments around work, think I'm going to have to tell one of the big bosses sometime in the next couple of weeks!

@citymouse: So glad they told you not to worry. Hoping that puts you at ease!

I honestly haven't had that much cramping. Maybe some really dull cramps a couple of times? Ok, this might be TMI, BUT the only time I really had legit cramps was after I had a 'sexy dream' the other night that was very...ummm...realistic? haha. Which happened in my last pregnancy too - I actually read that vivid sex dreams is a symptom in early pregnancy (guessing its the raging hormones?). It woke me up with some mild cramps, but they went away after a few minutes. I meant to ask my OB about this today but forgot - I have to ask her when she calls with blood results!

@AuntieEm: OMG, yes. I have been having sex dreams!! Hahaha. Also, really glad your appt went well!!

@IcebergMom: Hi!! Are you a Feb Mama too??

@MrsKoala: I mean, maybe Im being a baby about the cramping being a little painful? They have been like this for 3 weeks so it doesn't seem abnormal to me, but now with the spotting I had over the weekend, Im overanalyzing!
