@citymouse: you bet! I've tested twice! My expected day would be feb 23. Second baby for me (LO is 23 months) and this is following up from a mc in Nov at 3 months and a chemical pregnancy in January. So I'm sooooo nervous !!!!

@MrsKoala: So excited for you that everything looked good! It's wonderful when you get to see that little heart beating away!
@Honeygold89: Good luck with your appt today! Can't wait to hear how everything goes!
@citymouse: I'm sorry to hear that the cramps are pretty painful. When I was pregnant with my LO, I had absolutely horrendous cramps that were there throughout the day on and off, like AF cramps, but once or twice per day (usually at night), I would have a 15 minute episode of doubling over, gasping for breath, writhing in agony cramps. They seriously felt like contractions and I was convinced this could not be normal. My GP kept assuring me they were, and around 8 weeks, they just went away completely. Fortunately this time, I haven't had any, but I'm sure that's because my uterus has already stretched out to beach ball size and it's not as much work to do it again. Anyway, I hope this reassures you a bit - you should be nearing the end of the cramps and they sound pretty normal, unpleasant though they are.
@AuntieEm: I'm so glad you really love your doctor - that makes all the difference in the world! Whilst it's definitely normal to not see anything yet, I know it's a bit disappointing as I think we all harbour that little hope that maybe we are further along than we thought! It's great though that she's going to check your numbers agin just to be sure and do another scan next week. Oh, and the vivid sexy dreams? Umm, yeah. That was one of my earliest indicators of pregnancy both times because normally I don't remember my dreams at all, but these I definitely did!
@erinpye: I'm so sorry to hear that MS has come back again and is just as bad as before. Do you thing you have HG? It really sounds awful and I hope there is something your doc can do for you to help you get brought the next few weeks.

@citymouse: Cramping is totally normal. Remember your body has to stretch a lot to accommodate baby! I cramped last time, and I'm cramping this time too, and I don't know if you saw my note, but I spotted with my first, too. All was fine

@IcebergMom: Congrats!!! Another second time mummy/mommy (there are a few of us here!). Hoping that all goes well and this is your second sticky baby!

@Ree723: @erinpye: Thank you ladies! Im glad to know it could be completely normal. I know we all feel the same way, we want this baby so much! Im trying to not stress, but its hard. Trying to remind myself that the nurse is not worried and there are a lot of happy ending stories that have symptoms like this.

@IcebergMom: Hello! Welcome and congrats!!
@AuntieEm: I'm glad that you had a good appointment and are much more comfortable with your new OB! That is really wonderful! I think it's really important to really feel like you trust your OB and that they care about your concerns.
@citymouse: Ah I see what you mean but these cramps can be downright painful. Occasionally, I have to suck in my breath because it can be so sharp and stabby. So nope I wouldn't say you are being a baby at all!!
@Ree723: Thanks! It was awesome and DH got a little misty eyed.

Wow! I was out of town this past week and just came back to get caught up with my February mamas -- you all have been busy! I loved reading all your updates and am so happy to be back in the loop
@IcebergMom: @SweetMamaM: @MSBartlett: @indi: @mrs.halfsie: Welcome and congratulations to you all! So excited to have you!
@Ree723: I'm so glad to hear your appointment went well and everything looks good. Yay!
@erinpye: Sorry you have been so sick
I really hope it doesn't last 11 more weeks for you.
@MrsKoala: Yay for a good first ultrasound!! So exciting!!
@Honeygold89: Hoping your appointment is going well! I'm looking forward to hearing about it!
@AuntieEm: That is so great that you like your new doctor! I had a number of issues with my past OB, so I switched before we started TTC and it was the best thing I could have done. I'm happy to hear your appointment went well, even if it wasn't very exciting
Hopefully, you'll be able to see much more next week!
@citymouse: I'm right there with you on the brown spotting
Mine began yesterday and seems to be a tiny bit worse today. I only had one very minor cramp last night though. I talked to my OB's office and they said it all sounded normal and I could come in for some tests if I wanted, but I decided to just wait for my appointment next week. I'm trying to remain calm and take it super easy today. I'm sending you a big hug and lots of positive vibes!!!!
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
At your first appointment did anyone get an US or anything? I will be 6 weeks Friday and going to my first appointment on Thursday and I've been hearing that they do US the first visit or they wait til 8+ weeks to do one. So I'm confused.
I'm sure it depends on the doctor but what happened at your first pre 8 week appointment?
My "just had a baby" sister won't answer my text so why not ask my fellow bees?
honeydew / 7463 posts
@Danizaur: I had an appt today at 5w5d and they did an ultrasound. My last OB did one at my first appt as well (last pregnancy that I lost).
I think it varies from doctor to doctor but I think I've always had one because I'm in NYC. Everyone is impatient and docs are probably competing and don't want to be the OB that doesn't do an u/s
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
@AuntieEm: Ah thanks! I'm really hoping for one this week but couldn't get a clear answer. I'm so excited to go! DH can't stop talking about it.

@Danizaur: My first appointment will be at 7 weeks and they have me scheduled for an ultrasound.
nectarine / 2527 posts
@IcebergMom: congrats and welcome
@Danizaur: my first appt was 6w5d and the did an U/S and even the first time with the one I lost in march they did a U/S and I was around 5 weeks so I really think they will do one for you.
@MrsKoala: @citymouse: @AuntieEm: @BlueberryPie: thanks ladies the appt went great and I am much less nervous now I have a lovely MW she is very nice and cheery and since she just did a Pap smear in march with the first pregnancy she didn't feel it necessary to do another one which I was very happy about
so we basically did the U/S and we were able to see the sac, yoke, and the little spot which was the baby and it measured up right on target. The only thing she didn't do was listen for the heartbeat she said since its so early she'll wait two more weeks before listening for the heartbeat so I go back on July 8th to hear the heartbeat which I'll be 8w5d and I think she say we'll do some blood work also but overall me and DH are on cloud 9 right now and already feel better this time around just hoping and praying it continues to go this well the rest of the pregnancy
nectarine / 2527 posts
This is the sac and yoke I was surprise when she actually gave me the picture to take with me I didn't think they did that this early
grapefruit / 4819 posts
@Honeygold89: so happy to hear you had a great appt! Yay for little bubby measuring spot on target and seeing that beautiful fetal pole and yolk sac! Have you hung the pic on your fridge yet? We put ours up as soon as we got home, but I need to remember to take it down before my ILs visit next week as we want to tell them over dinner, not have them accidentally see it on the fridge first!
nectarine / 2527 posts
@Ree723: yeah it was great but no we haven't hung it yet cause my mom wants me to bring it to her so she and my dad can see it and he had to show his mom and sister yesterday which they weren't suppose to know yet but he was so excited that he been told his mom sister and my parents the same week week got our BFP I guess cause it happened so quickly after our MC he just got so excited this is both of our first even tho he has an adopted daughter with his ex and me and him both love but this is the first biological child for us and he is just over the moon right now lol

@Honeygold89: great looking baby
I've been battling m/s and gagging all week and it has not been fun, I seriously thought I would've beaten it this time around.
And my food aversions have started as well, my beloved coffee is now an enemy, hopefully this won't last too long.
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
@BlueberryPie: Boo for spotting! I hope it ends for you!
@Danizaur: I just had my first appt yesterday at 7w4d and I had an ultrasound. They specifically scheduled it around the 8th week so that they could do the ultrasound.
@Honeygold89: Looking good!! So glad you had a good experience as well!
@lavender: Oh no, no coffee!! That's horrible!
honeydew / 7463 posts
@BlueberryPie: Sorry you are experiencing the spotting, I know it can be scary. Don't hesitate to take them up on the offer of an earlier appt if it will put you at ease!
@Honeygold89: Yaaaayyyy! So so glad it went well. I was obsessively refreshing yesterday hoping to see your update
@lavender: Oh no, yuck! Last time coffee started tasting awful to me around 6 weeks. Tomorrow is 6 weeks so I really hope it doesn't come back! I only have a small glass of ice coffee in the morning now but Id hate to cut it out completely.

Yay! It's official when I'm on the list! So nauseous today! Eating ginger cookies and driving around town.
clementine / 984 posts
@IcebergMom: Sorry about the nausea! I hope the ginger cookies help out.
MS is my huge fear. I have stomach issues (hiatal hernia) that cause me to regularly be sick for weeks at a time when it flares up, so I've been praying that MS stays away. Each day I get up without vomitting is a gold star day! Haha.
My symptoms are easing up a little, but I'm still sleeping tons and using the restroom frequently. Thankfully the girls have stopped hurting so much - I am sure enjoying that!

Hi gals! Got yesterdays blood test results back via voicemail. We're playing a bit of phone tag but she didn't seem concerned, even though the numbers seem kinda low to me - 6406 for hcg and 12.8 for progesterone. She just said they're going up, that's good, see you next week, call me back if you want to talk. I did and of course she was with someone else already so I'm just waiting to hear back again.
I guess I shouldn't be concerned if she isn't? But I thought hcg should be closer to 10,000 by now (It was 1319 6 days prior).
I'll just wait to see what she says!
pear / 1531 posts
@AuntieEm: your doubling time is still well within the range of normals from what I calculated, especially considering you are getting up there in numbers (so slower doubling time). http://www.countdowntopregnancy.com/tools/beta_doubling_calculator.php
I know how you feel about being anxious about this, but if your doctor isn't worried, then I wouldn't be concerned. It sounds like your dates aren't exactly nailed down yet. But I understand the anxiety. I have a LOT of it having arrived here from infertility and a prior loss.
I do think your progesterone is a bit low. My RE likes to see levels above 15. If I were you, I would ask my doctor for suppositories.
honeydew / 7463 posts
@raintreebee: Thanks! Thats reassuring about the hcg. Yes I've read 2 different things about progesterone. I've read that anything above 10 is fine and that it should be above 15. Who knows? i think its hard to say what is normal since we're all so different so i dont know what to believe, lol. I'm still waiting for her call back so I'm going to ask if she is concerned at all about it. I really trust her so if she says not to worry then I won't (famous last words
)

@Honeygold89: Yay for a picture!! Glad the appt went well
@lavender: So sorry about the MS! Hopefully it will be over soon! I am having a mild/moderate case of it. No vomiting thankfully, but feeling sick most of the time and especially if I am hungry or thirsty. Kind of hard to get work done!
@BlueberryPie: Im SO sorry about the spotting. Its no fun at all. I had a tiny streak of brown/pink in my CM yesterday, literally looked like a line. So Friday, Sunday Morning, and Yesterday morning. Today seems to be normal again. Hows it today for you? The nurse told me to stay super hydrated. That pregnant bodies do weird things when they are dehydrated.
@Springtime: Boo to no AC!! Hope its fixed asap!
@IcebergMom: Hoping it doesnt get too much worse for you!
@indi: Glad its staying away for now at least! FX it stays that way!
@AuntieEm: Let us know what she says! Hoping everything is just fine!

I have finally discovered the key to dealing with my mild/moderate MS... Eating carbs every 2-3 hours on the dot. If I do this, I feel almost normal. If I fail, its a bad situation!
honeydew / 7463 posts
Ok so talked to my doc and she said that they are both within the limits of being normal/acceptable. She said the progesterone COULD be higher but it's not low enough to be concerned. She said she swears she'd tell me if she was worried at all and she's not. She said if I wanted to have my numbers tested again this week I can but I've decided to just wait till next week's u/s. So...we'll see! It'll be a long 6 days.

What gender is everyone hoping for? Anyone hoping for multiples? Who is going to let it be a surprise?
I'm sure it goes without saying we will all be thrilled either way.
But we are hoping for a girl! All of DH's family had little boys and they are hoping to finally have a girl. Plus we have the perfect girl name picked out.
I'm curious about twins. DH is terrified of the possibility but I'm open to it!
What about everyone else?
persimmon / 1116 posts
@Danizaur: We would love to have twins!!
DH is hoping for a boy first, but Im open to either. And, were Team Green!

Thanks ladies! I really hope to get to stick around here! I want a February baby bad! lol
@Danizaur: I do not want twins... they scare me! lol. We are hoping for a boy this time though. We were team green last time so we'll see what we decide to do, DH really want to find out!

@runsyellowlites: Welcome and congrats!!! I hope you get to stay with us!
Here's another question for you all. (I love questions)
Those who are team green...what made you choose it? Ive noticed a lot of mommies are team green. I'm drawn to the idea of surprise too but I don't think I can wait! Lol
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
@citymouse: I'm not necessarily HOPING for twins...but if we found out it was twins I would be so excited!
DH freaks out when I mention it. Lol I like to tease him that since he's so scared we will end up with triplets.
coconut / 8305 posts
@Danizaur: I liked the surprise & did NOT want just a bunch of blue or pink clothes at the shower.... I wanted what we registered for! lol
