@Honeydew: we are hoping to find out at our next U/S in 2 weeks.

Anatomy scan tomorrow and I'll be 21 weeks on Saturday! Hopefully the baby is a show-off so we can find out the sex.

Can't wait to hear everyone's results from the Anatomy scans. Ours is on Thursday.

We had our gender reveal yesterday, DD was not pleased about another brother! It was actually really funny. She's still hoping that the baby comes out a girl

Our tech was terrible and the whole experience was basically ruined because of that

Best part: We saw our baby moving and wiggling. It's so crazy how big they grow from 9 weeks to now!

Worst: The tech spent over an hour scanning (while DH waited in the waiting room with no updates for an hour!) only to get ZERO gender confirmation. We got a "My best guess is a girl since I didn't see anything but I don't normally look for that." Even though I had asked multiple times during the scan if she could see or what the baby was.

I'm frustrated since the tech knew of our previous loss and she was not sensitive to this at all. Poor DH She also told us our baby had a very low fetal heart rate but everything else looked perfect so she scheduled another ultrasound on Friday with the perinatologist. We're praying for good news.

Sorry for the downer update but I guess sometimes you get a crappy tech! I've never had a good one, though..

Hoping we confirm that baby is healthy and doing well AND that it's REALLY a girl!

@wahine08 I'm so sorry. It sucks you didn't have a good experience and then to have the added worry of something being off with the baby's heartbeat, ugh. I hope you get awesome results Friday, and find out the gender. Will DH get to come in the room on Friday?

@wahine08: she sounds like a real witch. I've never heard of that. I would have cried if DH couldn't go in with me.

Our appointment was early this morning. And we are expecting a healthy looking baby...... BOY! So excited to see the little guy. He was moving quite a bit and shielding his face with his hands. So we only got a couple of good pics of him. I'm in love!

@wahine08: I'm glad you get a 'do over' on Friday. Our tech sucked too (and we only noticed because the tech for our NT scan was amazing). It's sad that a joyous occasion can be a little less fun because of a crappy tech.

I am sure baby is happy & healthy!!!

Also, have you thought about calling with feedback? Not that the office will care, but maybe!? I would tell them it was emotionally difficult for you (because of this tech), and not what you were hoping for. Yes, they do this all day, but it's still a service, and as patients, we deserve to be treated kindly!!!

I am convinced that this baby is a girl ... Now that some of us have shared images from our scans, I am noticing our baby's skull shape is consistent with the girl scans I've seen. @honeydew's latest scan of her boy really made me think we're having a girl!

For those of you who have had your anatomy scans (and you found out) would you share the profile photo from the u/s and the gender?!? I'd love to compare.

@MrsH: Awesome!! I'm excited to see if I have the right gender in mind. I'm sure this is all on the 'old wives tale' spectrum, ha, but it's fun!!

Hi Everyone, I have been reading this thread for a little while and have been too shy to join in but the excitement is catching. Is it too late to join the party?

We had our scan yesterday and the sonographer confirmed that we are having a girl

I am a bit confused about our due date though because my first scan at 9w2d said my EDD was 21st January, my second scan (for nucal translucancy) at 11weeks gave a EDD of 25th January and during my scan yesterday our little girl measured 18w3d providing a EDD of 30 January. Based on my LMP the due date should be 24th January and she should be 19w2d.

I think for the moment we are just picking 25th as her EDD but my doctor keeps changing the due date in the system (well she changed it now to 28th January!). The sonographer we had was a lovely young woman who said that maybe she is just a little small for her age and I should eat a bit more. All other signs were great and her EFW was 243g which I understand is ok for 19 weeks. Ahh so confusing..

I'm jealous that everyone has had their scans already! I feel like I've been waiting forever for this appointment! Can't wait!

@Mrs Rivera: I wouldn't worry to much about the exact date. Depending on if a different machine is used, etc. you could get different sizes. Plus once you get past 18 or 20 weeks genetics come into play (short versus tall) and babies no longer measure the same.

@Mrs Rivera: with my son EDD ranged from April 3 to April 8 and he came April 1! I would go off of your LMP and just remember it is "normal" to have the baby plus or minus 2 weeks from their due date!

With this baby we have an EDD of January 26 but he's measured small by a few days on both ultrasounds so we just say "end of January" if anyone asks.
