@Navy_Mommy: we also say end of January for our twins. They were measuring almost a week ahead last time but they left the due date as January 30th. We will find out more this week!

@Mrs Rivera: sometimes I wish they wouldn't even give us a date & just give us a 4 week time frame.

@Sugar.Biscuit: when we got to the point where they just measured my belly I was always spot on for April 6 with my son (which was my EDD based on my period). He just came a bit early. I wouldn't mind if the same thing happened with this little man, lol.

Thank you all for the reassurance. I agree about just saying "end of January". That makes it much simpler.

@mamabehr - Im based in Asia and after doing quite a bit of reading/ googling on prenatal care in Europe, US and Australia, Im realising they do a few things differently over here and this must be one of them.

Anatomy scan went well - little man looks great! Super active to the point it was hard to get clear pictures.

Hi, everyone! I've been absent for a while, mostly because I've been trying to keep gender a secret (we've known for a few weeks but didn't want to say anything until we had our "official" scan - we're having a boy! Woohoo! We had our 18-week ultrasound last week and everything looked fantastic - he measured right on target!

So exciting to see everyone's updates! I can't believe we're halfway there!

Has everyone been updating the poll with their baby's gender? I'm curious to see how many boys vs girls we have for January! My appointment is Thursday afternoon; can't wait!

@amandalynn: congrats on your little boy! That's so exciting!

We had our 18 week ultra sound today & got to see boy parts & girl parts! DH was so proud of his little guys big bits lol. Our parents were there and it was great to get to share that experience with them. We didn't get very good pics of their faces this time but I'll try and post a few later. They were both near the 86th percentile so still measuring about a week ahead & weighing just over 11 oz. Let the planning & shopping begin!

@Emsmems: Our next appointment is 9/20. I THINK it's the one where we'll talk about glucose screening, but otherwise, just a monthly checkup.

Awww thanks ladies @Vegmama: haha thanks.

Here is the best U/S picture I could find. Neither of them were cooperating well today. They are both head down. Baby A-Girl is pictured face down & Baby B-Boy is some what laying his head on her shoulder & facing up.

Well, we had our scan and everything went great. We are having a little girl! Thought it was going to be a boy! We are really excited and ice already bought a couple cute girl clothes.

They couldn't get a couple of the measurements but I'll do that at my next appointment on October 1.

    Thank you EMSMEMS that's great.

We are traveling to the city that I plan to give birth in for our first appointment with the doctor who we hope will be our obstetrician on the 29th September. It will be a chance to meet the OBGYN and take a look at the hospital. Who knows she might even give us yet another due date or provide a bit more confirmation on which one is more accurate.

    nectarine / 2063 posts

@Emsmems: I suppose you could add our next two appointments. I've been procrastinating... September 19th we have a follow up with our regular OB & October 16th we see the specialist & have another U/S.

@Emsmems: We have an appt Sept 19th (Just a regular OB appt) and then another ultrasound scheduled for Nov 11th. I'm positive I'll have some nurses appts somewhere in between!

Not sure when I do the glucose test though. I'm sure we'll schedule that soon. Not looking forward to it!

@wahine08: What is your November 11 ultrasound for? (sorry if that's nosy) ... I wish we could see our little one again before the birth!!

@Vegmama: When we had our (terrible) 20 week ultrasound appt the perinatologist mentioned we wouldn't have to go back down to the lab again (relief!) he also said he would schedule us for a 30 week ultrasound if we wanted. He didn't say it was for any specific reason but just to get another look! We did not refuse!

Update: I went to my Dr. today instead cause I feel like crap today. He said my uterus is measuring at 24 weeks!!! I'm 21 weeks tomorrow. I didn't get a chance to talk to him about it but holy cow pies. Anyways he said they babies seem to be doing well. BP was 157ish for both. My blood pressure has been elevated on the first attempt the last two times I have gone to the doctor but after waiting 15-20 min it goes back down. They don't seem to be concerned about my exhaustion, fatigue, or swollen feet. We did routine labs & I should get those back tomorrow. Also was told not to travel after mid October....

@wahine08: I know! We still have so much to get done! My brother wants me to come to KC (4 hours away) the first weekend in October for my nephews birthday. I feel like I could be getting so much more done if I stayed home.

Had an appointment today. Two weeks ago I ruptured a disc in my lower back and have actually been in twice for that but today my heart rate was high (over 200 till I lied down for a bit, then still elevated) but my blood pressure was low (109/64). They think that's what's causing my headaches (daily severe headaches) and fainting (daily blacking out, but still conscious). They did an EKG which came back normal so they're blaming itonthe stress on my body from the back injury and they want me to "take it easy" and "stay lying down as much as possible with only short intervals of activity" luckily DH got next week off to watch DS so I can hopefully get better!

My never appointment isn't till October 22, but if my symptoms get any worse I have to go in.

@Navy_Mommy: Oh man, sounds like you're having a rough go of it I hope you get better soon!!

Our appt yesterday went great! Just a regular check up, but I got a bonus ultrasound since my OB wasn't there for my last ultrasound with the perinatologist. We just watched her move around and monitored her heartrate for about 5 minutes or so. She was moving so much! I realized she's been moving more the past couple weeks, but it's crazy how much the baby moves and I don't feel it!

Last night I had my first swift kick in the bladder which almost made me pee my pants! It was pretty funny actually. I'm sure the humor dies down, though... like, during work meetings lol!

@wahine08: I am not looking forward to month eight or nine where I'm sure at some point I will pee myself
