Jan 2014 Due Dates and Appointments

@Vegmama: I don't think I've had any of those test done. I might have during my 1st trimester. Sometimes it bothers me how much more in depth other peoples doctors are. Makes me wonder if we are missing something. Hope you can figure out a formula that works for you. I take my prenatal at night because I'm less likely to have milk products in the evening. That helps with the iron absorption.

ETA: also my birth plan may change as well. I had head down babies but then they flipped. So the natural labor and delivery I wanted may have just gone out the window. Which leads to a longer recovery time that I did not plan for. I just keep reminding myself healthy babies=happy mommy, no matter what.

@Emsmems: Thanks for keeping track of all that. It' really interesting to see all the babies I have no other ideas to keep it interesting. I wonder who will be the first one

@Sugar.Biscuit: If they don't flip does that mean c-section then? How much longer until they are stuck in the position they are in? If you do end up with a c-section, it does kinda stink but it isn't that terrible. If you have questions about c-sections just let me know! I'm going in for my third!

@Emsmems: Thanks for the update! Hard to believe we are getting this close! I don't have any ideas to make it interesting either!

Is anyone else so over this pregnancy thing? I have tried so hard to stay positive this pregnancy, I'm having a relatively uncomplicated healthy pregnancy with a little boy that is healthy, but the aches, pains, lack of sleeping and the sheer amount of belly is driving me nuts-o. I only have about 46 more days until the c-section and I'm trying to think of ways to induce earlier!!! And, once he gets here the crazy starts! Three kids, three and under, I don't think there is much fun in that but UGH at least I'll be able to see my feet again!

@MamaBehr: Ugh don't even get me started how 'done' I am! Hips hurt so bad, so tired, moving in any form is exhausting and now currently I have a small appetite and nothing ever sounds good. Even the baby's movement is getting uncomfortable. I am trying to stay positive but I still have 8 weeks to go

@MamaBehr: ugh. I don't even want to talk about it. I see the specialist Wednesday so I'll find out more then. I'm okay with a c-section its just wasn't part of my ideal plan. I feel like I'm being cheated out of that experience but if we get two healthy babies out of it...it'll be worth it.

As far as being done with this pregnancy. I'm still hanging in there. The round ligament pains have settled down. Sleeping is getting a little harder. I wake up about 3-4 times a night to pee and shift sides. I'd love it if someone else could get my groceries though. We are out of our reserves & this next trip is gonna SUCK!

I've been ok with the Pregnancy thing. I would love to get rid of this ridiculous heartburn. And be able to sleep without waking up to pee or switch sides before having to amputate an arm from lack of blood flow to it. 2 more months to go.....

@Lindsay05: Nothing sounds good to me for eating too! I feel like I'm going to constantly throw up! Which is crazy, because I don't puke!!! It is almost like there is no more room in me. I could totally get away with eating two meals a day, but I try not too because I know I need to eat.
@Sugar.Biscuit: If you feel disappointed about a c-section, I totally get it. I was super upset with my first c-section for a LONG time..... but I have come to peace with it (that and we know this baby will come before Jan 1st, yah tax deduction!!) I hope you get super duper good news Wednesday. Keep me updated!

Holy big babies! Just got back from my 28 week U/S (I'll be 29 tomorrow) & babies are measuring ahead. Baby girl is measuring at 3.5#'s & baby boy is measuring at 4#'s. I have 7.5#'s of baby in me already! The doctor has offically moved up my due date to January 16th. He said he won't let me go past 38 weeks with my big babies. Right now we are looking at a c-section but he did say that if baby A flips he is trained & will deliver baby B breech if necessary. But it doesn't look like they are going to flip. Baby girl is being crowded by her brother.

One of the individual I provide services to has been doing a count down for me & just informed me that I now have 64 days left! 64 DAYS!! I have a lot of shit to get done in 64 days!

@Sugar.Biscuit: Way to go!!!! Those are some good babies And I hope that she flips so you don't have to get a c-section.

Because I have been having all these weird pains and contractions that I can time for hours on end, my OB/GYN checked me today. Luckily my cervix is still closed, but it is softening (though I'm not sure how much that means anything). She also told me that just because DS came at 37 weeks 1 day, doesn't mean that this one will come that early. Which I'm not sure how I feel about that hahaha. A mid December birthday sure sounds better than December 27! (that means 43 days!!! ahhh)

I had my 33 weeks appointment yesterday. All is good ... the only thing that's on my mind is my fundal height. At my 28 weeks appointment, it was 28 cm. At 30 weeks, it was 28 cm. At 33 weeks, it's 31.5 cm.

I was REALLY nervous that I was going to be stuck at 28 cm, so this last jump was more than welcome. My midwives are not concerned, as I'm still within the 2 cm window, but ughhh! I don't like feeling like I'm growing a little baby. I've only gained 19 pounds, and my belly still feels pretty small.

Only 6ish more weeks until we meet our baby, and I keep having these little doubts that s/he is flourishing. I think as long as my midwives say everything looks great, I will feel okay, but ughhhh ... being so close, yet so far, is really hard.

Had my 34 week appt today. Everything is looking good. I am still measuring about 1.5 weeks ahead which is not as far ahead as last time. Baby wasn't head down but my doctor wasn't worried about it so I am trying not to be as well! She thinks that I probably wont make my due date (jan 5th) but we will see I guess! We really want the baby here in January so the baby has 4 days to be early and thats it lol.

  17. MamaBehr

    pomegranate / 3275 posts

@Lindsay05: I had my 34 week appt today too! I, however, am measuring 36-37 weeks.... I have to admit that I'm surprised that I was only measuring that far ahead, I thought that I was going to measure 40 weeks hahaha. Why don't you want the baby here in December? Then you get your tax credit! hahaha

  18. Lindsay05

    pomegranate / 3759 posts

@MamaBehr: It is going to be interesting how close our babies will be in size! Thats true about the tax credit but call us crazy and ridiculous but we figure Jan kids have an advantage over december kids. But of course we will be happy either way and KNOW there really is no advantage.

@MrsH: I'm excited my date has been moved up. I didn't want to be one of the last ones to go in January.

@Lindsay05: My babies flipped to breech after DH & I had well...done the deed doggy style. My chiropractor & our L&D coach both say to get on all fours often to help them flip back. I'm pretty much screwed because we are running out of room but you still might have a chance for your baby to flip. It doesn't hurt to try. Also I was told to play lively music just above the pubic line & or us a flash light against the belly & try to draw their attention downwards to help them turn. They are suppose to be attracted to the light/ sound. I've tried doing all three at once but you may want an extra set of hands...DH was so confused when he walked in on me lol.

I saw my regular OB yesterday & he asked me how much longer I thought I had. Wait a min, aren't I suppose to be asking him this question!? I told him I wanted to make it until at least Christmas & he just grinned. I don't know if that indicates something of if he just thought I was being cute. I see the specialist on 12/11 for another U/S & will start seeing my OB's once a week after that. When I told DH he said ,"well duh it's getting to be about that time." Like he already knew.

Ladies, I'm feeling like I dropped the ball: Over the course of this pregnancy (up until 35 weeks), I had gained about 20 pounds (or 15 from my pre-pregnancy weight). Yesterday, I had my 35 week appointment, and I had gained 8 pounds since my last visit at 33 weeks. That's almost 1/2 of what I've gained over the entire pregnancy before that.

Obviously, it's too late ... the pounds are there to stay, but I just feel a little guilty for indulging so much lately. Big portions, dessert every night, giving into cravings. Trying to be much smarter from this point on ... Again, I know dieting isn't an option (nor would I do that), but I know I can be smarter about my food choices.

This isn't about the numbers, either. I know my weight gain is well within the normal range ... It's just a really big jump (percentage wise), when the baby sites tell me I should be gaining 1 pound per week. Ughhhhh!

With just a few short weeks left, I am getting more sensitive to everything. HORMONES!

@Vegmama: Your weeks away from giving birth you are going to put most your weight on now & it will most likely be water weight. I am terrified to see what my scale looks like next week because my feet & lets have gotten even bigger this week. I'm starting to look like the Michelin Man...Everything in moderation. It's the freaking holiday's and your pregnant. Enjoy it.

Just got back from my 34 week appointment. Baby Honeydew is weighing in at 5lbs and on track to be about 8lbs at birth. He has an above average size head and thank god his head is down.

Just scheduled all of my weekly appointments..... countdown begins!

Had an appointment with the FACOG today. Brace yourself ladies...I've gained 24 pounds in two weeks! I have bloated the F out! I also had an elevated BP but after the second check it had gone down. The doctor is afraid I am on the verge of Preeclampsia & is glad this Friday is my last day. I get labs done tomorrow for my progesterone & see my regular OB next Wednesday. As much as I want this to be over, I really want my babies to hang in there until at least Christmas. I'll be 35 weeks at that point. Oh ladies I need some good vibes to get me through these next few days/weeks.

Admitted over night to the hospital for observation & bed rest. Upper right quad pain & elevated BP. The put me on demeral last night to calm the pain. I'm on an IV for fluids & get regular BP & baby checks. They did an US of my liver, kidneys etc & apparently they didn't find anything. The have me doing a 24 hr series of steroid shots for the babies. The nurses are all indicating that I will probably have the babies early. Please pray that we can keep these babies in longer!

Dr. Is keeping me ovee night again & I'm not allowed and food or drink after midnight encase they need to proceed with the C-section. There must be something he is seeing that indicates we are nearing the end of this deal. If my BP goes above 160 again its pretty much a guaranteed things.

I have to go on walks every 30 min & after this last walk (and resting 15 min to help benefit me) it was still 152/70. I want these babies to stay longer.

@Sugar.Biscuit: Have they tested you for protein in your urine? My BP regularly was over 160/100 at the end of my pregnancy with DS but since there was no protein in my urine (I had to do a 24 hour urine collect four flipping times) they said I just needed to rest, there was no need to get a c-section. Maybe it's different because you're carrying multiples? But I would definitely ask a lot of questions.

@Navy_Mommy: there was protein in my urine not a lot but enough. He did a 12hr collection. There is also stuff with my kidneys & liver that are elevated as well.
