Omg, y'all I'm so stressed. Im in the waiting room waiting for my appointment. I found out I lost my debit card this morning. I feel sick to my stomach. I gagged on my own spit and almost threw up in the car on the way here. Not a good start to the morning!

Well everything did go well! My Dr was able to find the heartbeat and it didn't take him too long to find it. All my labs were normal except he forgot to test my thyroid but he said he would do that in 8 weeks. I feel much better after getting that appointment over with! Almost 2nd tri!!! My next appointment is Aug 5.

@abbydabbydoodlebug: Yay! Glad to hear!! I'm glad the heartbeat didn't take forever either! Ours took a couple minutes which can feel like eternity haha

My labs came back good. I think they are done checking my HCG now that I have had a U/S because they didn't check it this time. All my other first OB screening test came back normal & my Progesterone went up to 41.7 which is in the level 3 area. They want me between level 3 & 4 during my entire pregnancy so they will be watching me close but as of now I just keep taking my progesterone once a day. I go back on the 24th to retest progesterone & do another Doppler. HOPEFULLY we will be able to hear the heart beat at that time, I will be almost 12+6 by then.

My EDD is January 12th!
My next appointment is August 3rd, and I'm seeing a doctor (at a birth center).
Our heartbeat took about 10 seconds to find - but it was the longest 10 seconds of my life!

Has anyone else NOT had an ultrasound yet? My doc only does one. It makes me sad that we didn't get a "we're pregnant" ultrasound, but on the other hand, there hasn't been any concern.
It just makes me more anxious for the gender scan!

@AmandaB8: we wouldn't have needed an ultrasound but since we are going to meet our deductible anyway and it will all fall under the same insurance year we had one done. Personally I also wanted to double check the due date just because DS was early and I want this due date as accurate as possible! I would feel so impatient if I were you not too tereribly long under a gender scan though!
nectarine / 2063 posts
@AmandaB8: WELCOME! I wouldn't have had one until 18 weeks had I not had supper high HCG levels. It ended up being twins My next one wont be until then. We didn't get to hear the heartbeats this week so hope fully we will at my next appointment at almost 13 weeks otherwise I'll go insane! Your so lucky to have heard your baby right away. My doctor kept digging around looking for one. I ended up being so sore today!

I haven't popped in here in a while. How is everyone?? I can't believe you're all so close to/already in the second tri!! I miss you all, but I'm so glad to see you're growing!

@MamaBehr: Sorry I didn't see your response before! I went to the same practice with DS and this dr actually did my c section with him. She did a good job with that, but she just isn't very personable. I love the 2 midwives there and saw them through my first pregnancy and am meeting with the other OB in the prctice next time. I am more hesitant to switch because I really like the other providers there are almost all the other practices near us are huge with 10 or more OBs. Also, this practice is one of the only ones left that does vbacs. I was just feeling a little overwhelmed with the decision and she seemed to only tell us the risks of a Vbac, not the risks of a csection, probably assuming we already knew the risks of a csection but we never really heard that since it was an emergency csection. Ugh, the decisions! It doesn't help that going into this, DH and I have different opinions on what to do. He leans towards a csection and I leaned towards a Vbac.

Had my appointment yesterday. Everything looks good, babies heartrate was 160bpm. Doctor said the baby was moving a lot when he was trying to find the heartbeat. Little bugger My next appointment is Aug 8!

@Sugar.Biscuit: I'm glad your labs came back good! A couple more weeks and you'll hear the heartbeat
@AmandaB8: Congrats and welcome!! I got a lot of U/S in the beginning, but they went out of their way I think because of my loss in December. I had one at 5w, 6w6d and 9w. I just had doppler done last week. Next one will be for Gender though!
@Lindsay05: Happy to hear your appt went well!!

My scan was interesting. They couldn't get measurements of the baby's neck because it was turned wrong and moving a lot. They won't rescan because baby was so big that they have moved my due date up by 5 days.
Got to see the LO And hear the HB but slightly frustrated
My new due date is 1/16.

I'm going in Tuesday for a gender ultrasound, so excited to find out the gender early.

Hi again everyone! Been finding it so hard to keep up with this thread, lol! Welcome to everyone who has joined since I last posted
@AmandaB8: I normally wouldn't have had an ultrasound until 13 weeks, but i needed an early dating scan because I hadn't been paying attention to AF
Had a M/W appt a couple weeks ago, heard babys heartbeat with the doppler which was fun. Took her a minute or so to find him (her?) but we could hear him rolling around all over the place!
My next appt is our gender scan!! aaaahg too excited. it's at 1:30 august 1st.
clementine / 957 posts
@MrsH: I'm glad you got to hear the HB at least! It sucks you can't get a re-scan in though. You're now 2 days behind me! (I'm 1/14)
@Punky: ooh how early will you go in?? My SIL just went to a ultrasound place (not the hospital or dr) and got her gender revealed at week 15. I'm SO tempted! DH and I were for SURE going to wait for 20wks but I'm like, Man.. that's a whole month jump on nursery planning haha. My scan is a week AFTER my bday too, so maybe if I move it up I can sneak in early baby gifts!

@wahine08: My anatomy scan is the week OF my birthday! I was thinking about purposely scheduling my appointment for that day and DH and I can make an afternoon/evening of it. Go baby shopping, dinner to celebrate, etc. I think it would be really fun.

@Navy_Mommy: 15 weeks today, there's a 4d ultrasound place that says they can determine gender starting at 14 weeks.
@wahine08: Yeah we were going to wait until my 20 week ultrasound too but I just got way too impatient. We're going on a cruise at the end of the week and have family in from the east coast so we thought it'd be fun to tell people then. Plus I really want to start planning the nursery and being able to buy clothes and things as I see them.

@Punky: we were told by both places we've had ultrasounds done that before 18 weeks they could give you a guess but it isn't good to get your heart set on it. They thought my son was a girl at 14 weeks, lol. And it was 4d
cherry / 168 posts
@Navy_Mommy: It's only going to be 2D, I just meant it's at one of those 4D places, not my doctors. From what I've read, they're pretty accurate, less accurate if you get told it's a girl. Plus we have our anatomy scan at 20 weeks anyway, so anything we buy before then will still be returnable.
cherry / 168 posts
Ok so I had my ultrasound today and they told us it's a girl! The u/s tech was pretty confident and took a bunch of pictures from different angles. I'm still going to keep receipts for anything i buy just in case, but yay!

We have our next appointment on the 25th ... It's our first one with our midwife group. I'm so excited ... after dealing with some major hassles with my Dr.'s office and insurance, I am so ready for this change.

@punky that's awesome!!! I so so so hope mine is a girl too
@vegmama I hope you love your new midwife group I have found it so important to have faith in who ever does your prenatal care and helps with delivery.

I'd like to officially re-join the January 2014 moms-to-be! I thought I was out, but I wasn't after all. My due date is January 4, and my next appointments are August 7 (midwife) and August 8 (anatomy scan).
I feel like I've missed out on so much. It's hard to believe we're already starting to find out the sex of our babies!

Baby looks healthy! We "screened negative" for chromosomal abnormalities.

@Emsmems: our next appt. is 8/27. Dr confirmed due date is moved to 1/16. Heard the HB again today.
clementine / 957 posts
@Navy_Mommy: Yay so glad to hear!!
@MrsH: My gender scan appt is Aug 27th!
@Emsmems: I wanted to add my Aug 27th Appt I will be 20 weeks that day and doing my gender scan!
I can hardly wait. DH is against going early to a u/s place but I'm so dang anxious already! 15w today!
