@snowjewelz: Fingers crossed that she gets to come home with you. So glad that you got to hold her yesterday.
@IRunForFun: Glad the contractions stopped. Rest up today and drink more water!
My work gave me a couple generous gift cards today. So that was really nice. I wasn't expecting anything since they did a big shower with LO1. Now if they would just let us leave early. I really want to get a mani-pedi before I have to pick up at day care.

@Smurfette: do it! I totally did not have time to even shower lol
@IRunforFun: Hope you are doing better and baby is staying put!
So we got home yesterday! So happy they discharged her. It was a bit rushed/chaotic with DD1 meeting the baby, but it was sweet! Then she pretty much went back to what she was doing haha. She was a bit jealous when I was trying to BF as it's the only time I have to stay put with DD2.
Survived my first solo night (DH went to room with DD1 so they can both sleep). The game changer was when I tried a paci.. Cuz I remember seeing them in NICU and they must have given all the babies paci's at night bc she slept much better once that went in. Still supplementing while waiting for milk. Got first appt today!

@snowjewelz: Sooooo happy to hear you both got to come home, and just in time for Christmas!! I hope your milk comes in soon. I wouldn't worry too much about using the pacifier; she'll figure out she doesn't get food out of that!
I spent most of the afternoon yesterday laying on my left side and drowning myself with water and didn't have any more painful contractions and had less BHs. Just got back from a 1.5 mile walk though and have to clean today to get ready for company so we will see how things go. Definitely chugging tons of water!!
Hope everyone has an awesome holiday weekend!!

@snowjewelz: so glad that you both made it home together!! I wouldn't worry about the pacifier. Lots of BF babies start with them right away.
I didn't get my mani-pedi yesterday. DH was puking so I came home and put together LO's dollhouse since it was the only time we had. Made him stay in the guest room in the basement all night so I hopefully don't catch it. Luckily he is better today, which is great since we are off to my parents till late tomorrow night.
Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and all the babies stay in till after Christmas!

I was induced on Friday and the twins came later that night! I delivered Baby A vaginally but then needed a c section for B as he was breech and just wouldn't turn. B is having some issues with fluid in his lungs and fast breathing so he's in the NICU. Hoping he makes some progress the next couple days.

@littlecasita1122: oh wow!!! Congrats! They are here, so exciting! Hope you are feeling okay Momma! Hope B progresses well soon and is by your side asap!!
Nothing exciting to report here. Loving the fam time now that everyone is home for two weeks. We went to the zoo yesterday, did some baking. I am apparently still a 10 year old and already awake excited for today, lol. There's no gift I don't know about, just DD and DD I can't wait to see their excitement!!
Hope you are all doing well!!

@littlecasita1122: Congratulations! Hope you guys are better soon and you can leave the NICU far behind.
Anyone feel Christmas babies brewing?? (Not me!)
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@littlecasita1122: congrats!! Fingers crossed B has a short NICU stay.
Santa brought me a cold. Fun times! But I just hope baby keeps cooking for another week!

@littlecasita1122: Congratulations!!! Fingers crossed for a very short NICU stay.
@Smurfette: Boooo on the cold. I hope it is mild and short-lived!
@babypugs: Not me! Just hit 36 weeks today.

@littlecasita1122: Congratulations! Hoping for a short NICU stay and that he will come home with you.
@babypugs: Not me. Right now, I am still hoping to be slightly overdue.
@Smurfette: We just finished getting over a stomach bug that started with my son on Monday, me on Wednesday, and DH on Friday. Of course, family was here for my graduation on Wednesday. My mom just told me she got it yesterday.
Due to the illness, it was just the three of us for Christmas. We decided to skip the extended family visit to avoid sharing the bug. It was a good day and I hope everyone also had a good Christmas.

@Mrs. Toad: this bug is nasty! So many people are down and out with it.
Super excited we avoided a Christmas baby!

@snowjewelz: me too!! The other birth group I am in is like 150+ Moms and there was a fury of babies last week, quiet over the weekend/Christmas and I'm ready for more babies!!
When I come on HB, the January POAS thread is tricking me, I just see January and click!
Nothing exciting to report! Went to the zoo Saturday with the fam, lots of walking, Christmas was so so fun with the kids and perfect except when I (twice) absolutely lost my shit on my sister. She and I haven't spoken in almost two years and we tolerate each other for family stuff and we hosted brekkie and she just did two stupid/typical her things and I was apparently a short fuse! Yesterday a lazy at home day, maybe an errand or something today but no need to go out which is super nice. 39w tomorrow, next appt is Thursday!

So I love how the nursery came out!! I still need some stuff for the butterfly shelf. Her name will go over the crib but we aren't hanging it till she comes(have told no one her name).
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
We need to hang the monitor but she won't sleep in there right away so no hurry. I need to stantize the pump parts and bottles this week. DH needs to install the car seat and we just need the pack n play set up in our room. I am hoping she will sleep in the PnP in our room. But if she has reflux like LO then we will use the RnP.
pomelo / 5509 posts
@snowjewelz: I imagine there's gotta be at least one baby born this week!
@Smurfette: Your nursery is GORGEOUS! So pretty and so cohesive. Can't wait to hear what name you've picked out! Our nursery is still a mess. Yesterday we got a little corner set up with the glider, a stand and lamp, and the bookshelf, but the rest looks unfinished. DH has to finish putting the drawer pulls on the dresser, I need to get a crib skirt or dust ruffle, we need to hang our quilt and prints on the walls, and we need to clean the floors and lay down the rugs. I am desperately hoping to get it all done by the end of the week, but I'm not optimistic. DH likes to take his sweet time with stuff, and it's driving me nuts!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@sunnyday: I can't believe you did all that walking at the zoo!! I could barely get around the house haha!
@Smurfette: Eh, I did none of those things hahaha. I mostly made DH and my mom do it when I was at the hospital.
Right now DH is in DD1's room so they can both get some sleep. I'm alone with DD2 every night.. It was really daunting the first 2 nights, but now I'm okay with it. DD2 has tongue tie like DD1; so we are going to ENT tomorrow. I saw the lactation consultant today since her latch had been shallow and I wasn't sure if it's tongue tie or that she is just young and needs more time. She is also soooo sleepy so I need to work harder to help her eat and to build my supply.. I haven't pumped much but I need to get back on this horse!!
I mostly feel really sad that I can't do everything with DD1 anymore. She is mostly really good, she is the most clingy when I'm nursing and literally can't get away. I really miss when it's just us too! But I also know it takes a while for me to bond with DD2 bc newborns just don't do much haha.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@snowjewelz: @IRunForFun: Thanks!
@IRunForFun: my DH takes forever to do stuff to. He said yesterday do you think you are going to have her this week? Why are you wanting all this done? You have two weeks left. Um, dude we have no control when she comes. I think he is forgetting LO came at 39 weeks. I will be 38 tomorrow, so as far as I am concerned anytime could be go time.
@snowjewelz: I am to much of a planner/control freak to wait on people to do things. I like everything done early. Which is why it is driving me crazy the car seat is sitting in the living room and not in my car!
Poor girl having a tongue tie. Hopefully soon you can sneak away with DD1 soon for a little Mommy-daughter time. This is my biggest concern about having another. I am going to take LO on Sat to go paint pottery so we can have some time just us before baby sister gets here.
pomelo / 5509 posts
@Smurfette: Haha I was just venting to my sister about DH being slow to get to stuff. Example #1, it's 4:30 pm and he is just now getting to the first nursery project of the day, putting on the drawer pulls. I just got the diaper pail set up and finished putting away the rest of the diapering stuff we got from our shower.
I lost a good chunk of mucus plug earlier today. No blood or anything, but still it was a sizable piece, probably about 1/3 of the whole thing. I was hoping it would kick DH into gear but he's very, "Eh, if the baby comes a little early we've got the necessities." Ummm yeah but after the baby comes we aren't going to want to be doing projects!
At least the car seat bases are in both our cars. LOL.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@IRunForFun: So frustrating. I am going to end up putting the base in my car tomorrow I just know it.
Exciting! I wonder if I lost part of mine today. I had a huge long string when going to the bathroom. It could have been normal discharge but who knows. I wish I knew when she was coming. Can't wait to find out tomorrow if I am dilated at all.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Smurfette: yeah, the mom guilt is really bad! Her sleep and behavior has def been worse... She is overall doing pretty well but I know it's still a big change for a little person. I feel SO bad that sometimes I wish I'm not breastfeeding so I can continue doing what we were doing!

@snowjewelz: my 2nd lo isn't here yet but I can already relate to how you're feelin g. My daughter is 2.5 and a mommies girl to the max. There are some things that I'm just feeling too pregnant to comfortably do now, but my husband will say 'mommy can't ' and she'll look heart broken, and through extreme discomfort I'll do it because I can't stand to let her down....
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Peasinapod: I know! I was like picking her up still and everyone was like stop! i just hate to have to constantly say mommy can't
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
Dilated between 1.5-2. Induction is scheduled for 1/10 unless she comes on her own before then. I am bummed my doctor is on call 1/9, but they were booked.
pomelo / 5509 posts
@Smurfette: Don't you love when they say dilated "between?" Like which is it?? I hope she makes an appearance in the next...what is that, 13 days?? There is certainly time!!
I'm at MFM hooked up to an NST at the moment. I had a scan and the baby's growth has dropped off a bit. From 21st percentile to 15th percentile, and apparently if it goes below 20% they do some extra monitoring. Everything else about the baby looks good so they said it might just be a small baby! I am not enjoying the experience of the NST though.
persimmon / 1101 posts
@Smurfette: The nursery is gorgeous!
@Smurfette: @IRunForFun: My husband is the same way and is driving me crazy. We have so much we HAVE to get done and he decided he needed to pull weeds and buy and assemble a new nightstand for DD. I mean, I appreciate the effort, but put the darn carseats in! Haha
@snowjewelz: I'm sorry, sounds so tough. I know I'm really going to struggle with not being able to focus on LO1 exclusively. It's breaking my heart to even think about!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@IRunForFun: how much extra monitoring are you going to have to have?
pomelo / 5509 posts
@babypugs: Yes! Haha sounds like my DH. He will find all this other stuff to do and get distracted and it makes me so mad.
@Smurfette: BPP and NST weekly now. Luckily I passed the NST today with flying colors. They apparently look for a certain number of movements and heart accelerations and my strip registered the right amount within minutes. Interestingly, even though I've been having a ton of BHs and some mildly painful contractions, I didn't feel any while hooked up. But the midwife said there were 3 that registered on the monitor within 15 mins.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@IRunForFun: oh, you might have your LO before me!
@babypugs: @IRunForFun: DH says last night while eating dinner, shoot I forgot the car seats again. I said yep. He well I know what I am doing tomorrow. It is now 4 and he is at Lowes and no seats have been installed. I even reminded him when we went to lunch.
pomelo / 5509 posts
@Smurfette: Oh that would drive me so nuts on the car seats!! I feel like that's one thing that really needs to get done, otherwise you're doing it in a rush or DH will have to go do it while you're in the hospital!
I don't know about having this babe early! Even though I'm having sporadic contractions and losing some plug, the baby's head is still floating and not engaged yet!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Smurfette: ugh that means nothing! maybe you will go into labor 1/9!
@IRunForFun: NST is annoying! and small baby, as long as healthy is a great thing in my book haha!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@babypugs: don't think about it, lol! I decided not to stress about it before since it's going to be an adjustment either way. I just hope I'm doing the "right" things to help her feel secured/loved!

@littlecasita1122: Congrats on the twins! Hope things are going well for you!
No baby yet here! I'm so glad we made it through Christmas having random uncomfortable contractions but nothing regular. Pretty sure I havent lost my mucus plug.
Husband has a man cold and LO is sniffy. I think i'm finally getting over my cough - fingers crossed and my hips are feeling better.
We had a great christmas and spent most of the last few days lazing about. I actually went into work today to finish up some loose ends. I have a dr appt tonight and i'm 38+3. I'm supposed to be taking my LO to see Disney on Ice tomorrow afternoon with my inlaws and my mom.
