@keiki_mama: woo, congrats on your girl! is this your first or second girl?
@mellybelly: updating you as another one of our surprises!

@runnerd: @coopsmama: Thank you! I'm so excited! LO1 is a boy so I'm thrilled to be welcoming a little girl to the family.

@keiki_mama: That's the same with us -- a boy first and now a girl! How far apart will your little ones be?
nectarine / 2504 posts
@coopsmama: They will be 27 months apart. We've transitioned DS into a toddler bed (mattress on the ground) since DD will be using the crib this summer. How far apart will yours be?
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
@keiki_mama: That's wonderful. I'm afraid we will have to buy a second crib. C will only be 12.5 months old when DD arrives so a toddler bed will be a little out of the question! I bet your son is enjoying his new big boy arrangement.

@keiki_mama: @coopsmama: yay for little girls!! do you have names yet? we've decided on Ava for our lo, and while we weren't going to tell people, with all the crap that's been going on with this pregnancy, we want to be able to celebrate the little things as much as possible
20wks today and just had my anatomy scan and cervix stayed stable which is great! they did find some echogenic bowel so, even tho our risks of downs etc. are over 1 in 250,000 they want me to go for genetic counseling and do an amnio.. urgh. so happy but frustrated after this appt. just would love only some good news for once. any other ladies have anmios done? mostly nervous for the test as our mfm says he just wants to do it as a precaution and that we shouldn't worry too much.
blogger / persimmon / 1225 posts
@runnerd: Big fan of breastfeeding here and hoping to do it for at least a year but we'll see!
No nursery updates yet but our anatomy scan is on March 6th, can't wait to know!
@littleredhairedgrl: Glad your cervix stayed stable, and hoping your tests go well and you don't have any more stressful appointments!

@littleredhairedgrl: so glad things are stable! seem to be for me too right now. But ugh, wish you could catch a break and not have something else to worry over!

@littleredhairedgrl yay for your cervix, boo for the amnio =( hopefully after this it's smooth sailing!
Our anatomy scan today went well, and we found out we're having a girl =) Eliza Delaney is officially her name as parents/best friends were all told this morning. It seemed to be a hit with people which was nice.
We did find out I have an anterior placenta, which is obviously not a big deal in the grand scheme at all but it will take longer to feel her move which is a bit of a bummer. She's definitely moving a ton if this scan was any indication, so that's what's most important!

@runnerd: Sorry I've been such a loser in posting here -- I always have the best intentions of updating but end up getting distracted! Thanks for checking in
Anyway, you can add me to the BOY list!! We found our Monday and are so excited. Everything else on the scan looked healthy but the tech couldn't get all the measurements she needed due to baby's position, so we get to go back for another ultrasound in 4 weeks. I can't wait to see his little face again!

@lauraeabel: Yay for a little girl! That is a great name.
@BlueberryPie: Whoo-hoo little boy!! Congrats!
Is anyone else 19 weeks and still not feeling consistent movement? I've probably only felt a few pulses or flutters a total of three times if that.
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@princessandthebee: I probably felt something 4-5 times total from 18-19 weeks, then it became daily - not a lot, but a feel something 2-3 times a day.
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
@littleredhairedgrl: I love the name Ava! That was the name of my first speech therapy client and she was the most adorable thing so the name has a special meaning for me. Good pick. Our DD will be Marlowe. We've already told people. I find that knowing the name for sure and sharing it helps me bond with baby. We did the same with DS and will do the same with any future kids! I'm so sorry about the amnio. Hoping that goes okay! Update us for sure.
@lauraeabel: Congrats on baby Eliza! What a sweet name.
@BlueberryPie: Yay! Another boy! Congrats.
@princessandthebee: It could just be where your placenta is located, unfortunately. I suspect I had more of an anterior placenta with DS because it took until about 22-23 weeks before I consistently felt him.
persimmon / 1135 posts
@coopsmama: Marlowe is adorable! I really like that name we are still deciding about the amnio.. we go for genetic counseling on Monday and will go from there, but as of now sort of leaning towards not doing it since our risk results from both the nuchal and second tri screenings were so low..
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
@littleredhairedgrl: Can I just say...I totally agree with your decision. The risks are SO low and you're fairly young, yes? At least you look young from your pictures in the bump thread! I just had a friend go through this very thing and the further testing turned up negative. It can be a risk to the pregnancy, as I'm sure you know, and I just don't personally think it's worth it! I hope your doctor doesn't pressure you too much either way and lets you guys makes the best decision for you!

@princessandthebee: I found out last scan I have an anterior placenta, so even though she's quite wiggly, I'm not going to feel anything for the next few weeks or so. I'm pretty sure they would've mentioned at your u/s if this was what was going on, but I don't think movement gets super steady until 27ish? Weeks based on friends with babies.

@runnerd Thanks for checking in- we've had several weeks of sickness in my house and time got away from me in terms of updating here.
We found out last week that we're having a girl (well, 80% confidence according to our tech) It's our 2nd and we're excited for our daughter to have a sister. I always wanted one! Now we have to find another girl name that we love…
Bebe#2 is kicking away as I type since I just ate some mango- so fun to feel her move all around.

@Littlebear: yay congrats on your girl!
how's everyone's weekend? I went to a consignment sale today and got a few onesies, books, and what I'm most excited about - summer co-sleeper! I'd been stressing for awhile over what option to use for the first few months, and didn't want to invest a lot of money. pretty excited about the co-sleeper that fits on bed, and is portable for weekend trips!
and yea - I'm not cut out for consignment sales - a bit hectic for me taste!

thanks everybody! Curious to see where my placenta is located!
I bought a Rock and Play yesterday for baby to sleep in by our bed for the first few weeks/months. What is everyone else doing regarding bassinet and co-sleeping?
@Littlebear: yay, i love having a sister, congrats on two little girls!

Hi guys,
Apologies I have been MIA these past few weeks. Truthfully the pregnancy has been very tough, and simply making it through work each day before being able to crash back into my bed each evening as soon as I walked through the door, has literally been all I could manage. Not much fun for my lovely husband, but he's been a trooper.
Anyway about 10 days ago it was like a switch was flicked, and I suddenly felt like my wonderful old self again - what a blessing! It was mid term break at my school so I travelled home to see my parents and friends and got spoiled rotten!
I am feeling huge - broke out the maternity pants at about 17.5 weeks, but had been wearing jeans unbuckled for a few weeks before that!
Hit 19 weeks today, and big scan scheduled for next weekend. Not exactly sure what they test for here in Saudi, but probably not too different to the rest of the world! We plan to be team green, however this is not a cultural norm here so we're hoping we can make it through the remaining weeks and check-ups without being told!
Felt what I could pinpoint as kicking movement for real yesterday. Moved hubby’s hand to my belly and he was even able to feel it too – just for about 4 kicks and then it went away again.
So all in all, hoping the next couple of weeks will remain to be as pleasant! Following you along with interest - loving the updates and solidarity!

How is everyone doing? Any appointments this week?
Only thing to report on my end is baby is getting more active, and I love it! 21 weeks on Sat!
Still no nursery progress, but I bought two more prints today! (The name one will be customized obvs)

@MrsCDH: can't believe you made it past 17 weeks for maternity pants! I think I switched between 14-15 weeks

@runnerd: So cute!
I just started our baby registry! Eeek! Well, it's still private, but it's an actual real registry Oh and we FINALLY cleared out our nursery (except for a sofa that we need to get rid of). Hopefully going to look at paint colors this weekend too.

@runnerd: love the prints!! Bed rest has given me plenty of time to stalk Etsy searching for cute prints too
21wk1d today (!) and so happy we've gotten this far with little Ava! We met with the genetic counselor on Monday who told us that with the two markers that showed up in our anatomy our risks are now at 1 in 20,000 which is still considered super low. That said, we decided to go with the Verifi blood test rather than the amnio considering that the risk of miscarriage from the amnio is way higher than our risk of any abnormalities. A little nervous still about the results, but we will find out hopefully by the end of next week.
only 19 days left till the 24 wk milestone
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@littleredhairedgrl: so glad you are doing good!!
And absolutely love that you put it in days til the 24 week mark! It seems so much closer counting the days than weeks
@NorCalWayfarer: haha yay for registries! We should wall each other our links for ideas haha. Mine are still private, I'm so paranoid about whether they are ready to go or not.
persimmon / 1135 posts
@runnerd: thanks!! I have a registry I created and did thru Babylist which links all different registries and items from sites like Etsy and amazon into one page. Their blog also has some great registry ideas.
anyone been feeling movement? I have an anterior placenta but she's still little enough that I can feel the kicks lower down and dh actually felt her kick on Wednesday! I couldn't help the tears just seeing the look on his face

@runnerd: love those!!
The very first item came in the mail for baby! A little newborn hat. So excited. Not sure what we'll do with the nursery. Thinking of doing some DIY canvas art for the room.
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@HLK208: cute hat, but all I can focus on in that pic is how much I adore your flooring!
kiwi / 633 posts
@littleredhairedgrl: Happy to hear Ava is doing well (love the name!). I think you're making a great choice with the Verifi test- i'm sure everything will be just fine! We finally started to feel some real movement over here (anterior placenta as well). DH quick put his hand on my belly the other night and baby kicked him right in the palm. IT WAS SUCH AN AWESOME MOMENT.
@runnerd: I thought the same thing about the flooring! Gorgeous! Love the hidden baby behind the hat as well, haha
ETA: OUR CRIB COMES TODAY! Hooray! We ended up with a convertible one that goes from crib > toddler bed/ day bed> full sized bed. Hopefully he doesn't need another one for a long time!
