@princessandthebee: I asked my OB the same question about movement at my 28 week appt and she said she wasn't worried about it but to call if I don't feel anything in a few weeks. Sure enough, at 30 weeks, I'm feeling a lot more!
My update: I'm measuring 3 weeks ahead so they ordered an ultrasound for this week. Every time I go into the office, I leave feeling negative!
How is everyone else doing?

@littleredhairedgrl: That's good to remember, thanks! Baby hasn't had hiccups yet but I have felt this super fast, rapid, practice breathing?? Unless I Googled it wrong... haha
Sweet, hoping the same happens to me! Sorry you leave your appointments feeling negative, I would say it's 50/50 for me. Let us know about the ultrasound!

@coopsmama: it could be worse, but yea starting to have more and more insomnia. well, it's more of a half awake/never fully asleep thing. 8 weeks (probably more like 7 now)! man that's sounds so close - exciting!
@MrsCDH: sounds like you've gotten lucky with all the hand me downs, nice!! and you are encouraging me to keep up the exercise!!!! i haven't done anything since last Thurs gonna make a little chart for this week, to try to get back to walking and squats!
@princessandthebee: i feel like other people are feeling more intense kicks than me too! i am wondering for me though if it's because our little one is on the smaller side, so maybe the intense movement is just slower to arrive! he was 3lbs at yesterday's ultrasound, which is 25% percentile.
@HLK208: be sure to update us after your ultrasound!

@coopsmama: oh and yes! i have a small family shower this sunday, then one with my DH's family on the 24th. It's been so exciting to see things start to be bought off the registry.. makes things feel so much more real! i'm shocked by how generous people are too!!
what about everyone else - anything one else with shower's coming up?

@runnerd: Ava Rae decided she wanted to see us on Wednesday night. She arrived at 8:33pm on May 14 (just 3.5hrs shy of 31 weeks) weighing 3lbs 5oz and 16 inches. She's in the nicu and doing great (it's incredible how many teeny tiny improvements a preemie makes in a single day) and we've already done kangaroo care twice
I will post a birth story soon once dh and I get home and settled.

so I figured it's about time we copy some of the other DD boards, and have some check in questions!!
1. How many weeks & EDD?
2. How often are you seeing your doctor?
3. How are you feeling?
4. How ready are you for LO's arrival?
5. Have you started thinking about labor or preparing in any way?
grapefruit / 4311 posts
1. How many weeks & EDD? 31 weeks today! 7/19/14
2. How often are you seeing your doctor? even though everything has been great for the past 3.5 months, I still have to see the specialist once a week starting at 32 weeks because of my earlier complications; I am glad they are being cautious but it's a major pain since my doctors office is over hour drive each way!!
3. How are you feeling? I've been a lot more tired lately! And my carpal tunnel gets worse every day. My hands are asleep half the time oh, and swelling is mild, but present!
4. How ready are you for LO's arrival? We'd get it all wrapped up if he showed up, but we are waiting on some of the major stuff to arrive in mail (changing table, crib mattress, bedding). I'll feel a lot more prepared after my shower tomorrow since I'm expecting to get my car seat and stroller!
5. Have you started thinking about labor or preparing in any way? I ordered some childbirth DVDs this week, and after taking a week off from exercise, I realized its crunch time for walking and squats to strengthen up for labor!!
kiwi / 714 posts
1. How many weeks & EDD? 31w+1, July 18th!
2. How often are you seeing your doctor? I see my OB every two weeks, and the high risk doctor has been monthly but he just ordered weekly bpp's starting at 34 weeks so after that I'll be in once a week.
3. How are you feeling? Overall, okay. Starting to get uncomfortable, and my back has been getting more and more sore so that's not fun. A little heartburn constantly, but otherwise, it's not too bad.
4. How ready are you for LO's arrival? I just made curtains and a crib skirt, and I'm waiting for our shower to see if we get a mattress/bedding. Between waiting for the showers and a few decorating projects, I'd say we are about 50% of the way there. Technically we have a pnp and car seat so we could make due if she came early, but I'm hoping for more time!
5. Have you started thinking about labor or preparing in any way? We're doing childbirth classes, and I'm trying to do kegels/squats as often as possible to strengthen up. I've also been drinking red raspberry leaf tea and cranberry juice on the off chance that helps.

How many weeks & EDD?
29+4, 7/30
2. How often are you seeing your .doctor?
Still every 4 weeks. Switched doctors at 28 weeks and am so glad I did! The first doctor didn't want to do anything to monitor the baby even though my first was induced due to IUGR because my placenta started failing. The new doctor has already ordered me ultrasounds to monitor the growth.
3. How are you feeling?
Great! This pregnancy has been much easier than my first.
4. How ready are you for LO's arrival?
Um, not ready at all. With my first I had a cute nursery completed by the time I was 24 weeks. This time we have the room painted and that's pretty much it! At least if she come early we have everything somewhere in the basement.
5. Have you started thinking about labor or preparing in any way? Nope, I had an easy labor last time and am hoping it will be the same this time!

@littleredhairedgrl: Congrats mama! So glad to hear you are both doing well
1. 32w3d; due July 9th (fingers crossed for a 4th of July baby though!)
2. Seeing the doc every 2 weeks until 36 when it bumps up to every week
3. Feeling pretty good overall. 100 degrees this week so that wasn't too helpful with the swelling. Looking forward to doing some swimming in the near future.
4. I don't know if we'll ever be ready Nursery is painted, crib is all set up, have our car seat and a stroller. Looking forward to showers at the end of May/beginning of June.
5. Took a one day yoga and massage for labor class. Probably going to do an online birth class (The Best Birth). I'm pre-reading the Birth Partner for my husband (he doesn't want to read the whole thing), but of course he hasn't read any birth books yet....
Oh and all three of my friends who were pregnant gave birth a week early! I had always thought first-time moms tended to go late, but all three were early, eek. Although maybe I can get some of their birth karma and have that July 4th baby!

1. How many weeks & EDD? 31 weeks on Monday. Due July 22nd. I'm measuring 3 weeks ahead though!
2. How often are you seeing your doctor? Every 2 weeks.
3. How are you feeling? Feeling okay. I'm so large and uncomfortable! My feet are starting to swell a bit from the hot weather.
4. How ready are you for LO's arrival? Yep. We just have wash everything for the nursery and clothing. Also, I'll need to pack the hospital bag.
5. Have you started thinking about labor or preparing in any way? Letting my OB know my birth plan but not really preparing in anyway.
apricot / 453 posts
1. How many weeks & EDD?
30 weeks tomorrow - EDD is July 28
2. How often are you seeing your doctor?
My upcoming 32 week appointment will be the last time I wait 4 weeks between appointments. So in two weeks, I'll be going every two weeks.
3. How are you feeling?
Still pretty good although I'm starting to get kind of uncomfortable. Bending over and getting up off the couch have been kind of tough, and my back is starting to hurt a little bit.
4. How ready are you for LO's arrival?
Maybe 80%? We've got all the big stuff taken care of, but we need to work on all the little things.
5. Have you started thinking about labor or preparing in any way?
Not really. I don't have much of a birth plan beyond "get the baby out safely and keep me fairly comfortable if possible."

1. How many weeks & EDD? 30w2d
2. How often are you seeing your doctor? Every two weeks until 36 weeks and then it'll be every week.
3. How are you feeling? Uncomfortable and extremely emotional. I also hate not being able to stand right next to the sink anymore, haha. My back hurts often and my feet are sore constantly. It doesn't help that we just moved into our house and I don't get to rest nearly enough. Plus, it is just adding to my stress level right now.
4. How ready are you for LO's arrival? Nursery has been painted- Misty Moonstone (gray) and the furniture has been assembled. Everything else needs to be done, nursery decor, clothing washed, stuff put away and sorted, stroller and car seat put together. We had one shower first weekend in May and a second one coming up the last weekend in May, hoping to spend most of June working on baby stuff and NOT house stuff.
5. Have you started thinking about labor or preparing in any way? We start our first of six natural birthing classes tonight- I'm excited!

Love reading updates!
1. How many weeks & EDD? 32w5d, EDD July 9
2. How often are you seeing your doctor? Since hitting the 32 mark, now it is every two weeks until 36 wks, and then every week until labor time (I think this is pretty standard, at least in the US).
3. How are you feeling? Not terrible but the uncomfortableness is definitely here. I tried shaving my calves the other night - it was quite comical! Back is sore and picking up stuff from the floor has become an olympic sport - I usually debate if its worth the effort to pick it up! Baby's movements are also starting to hurt a little bit.
4. How ready are you for LO's arrival? Mentally, DH and I are pretty ready. In terms of stuff - eh, not really. Our shower is June 7 so we have a couple of weeks yet. We're going to wait until the shower to see what else we would need. We did get the room painted and we have most of the furniture. We have the stroller and carseat and some clothes. That's pretty much it!
5. Have you started thinking about labor or preparing in any way? Sort of, I've started to read Ina May Gaskin's Guide to Childbirth, looked at videos online at all types of births (not C-sections yet - a little scared to view those!). I'm hoping for a natural, unmedicated birth but I know that things don't always go as planned. We're not going to be taking any childbirth classes. We are going to a breastfeeding class this week and an infant care one in June.
Hope you all have a good week

1. How many weeks & EDD? Today I am 31w6d, EDD is 7/15
2. How often are you seeing your doctor? Every 2 weeks
3. How are you feeling? Honestly, if I could have a back transplant I would have the easiest pregnancy ever. I barely make it through my work day at this point, and head straight for my bed to get horizontal immediately upon getting home. I had back problems before the pregnancy so I half-expected this... but it's so so aggravating!! I've seen PT, a chiropractor, prenatal massage therapist (highly recommend!), and at my next OB visit i'm going to reqest one of those sexy support belts. Other than that, life is grand!
4. How ready are you for LO's arrival? We had our shower yesterday and have an entire room full of gifts to organize/inventory! I'd say we're about 75% ready.
5. Have you started thinking about labor or preparing in any way? We have our 4th/5 birthing class on Wednesday where we get a tour of L&D! Excited about that one. I have a birth "wishes" list drafted and overall I feel pretty prepared. Like most of you I'm in the 'pro-natural birth but we'll see how it goes' crowd.
Love reading the updates! Hope everyone has a great upcoming week!

1. How many weeks & EDD? Due July 22nd 31 weeks tomorrow! @HLK2008 I'm also measuring ahead they said they will schedule a sono at our next appointment! Keep us updated on yours!! I'm excited to get to see LO face again
2. How often are you seeing your doctor?
Every two weeks until 36 weeks when weekly visits start!
3. How are you feeling?
TIRED!! SORE!! I feel like I can't get enough sleep...when is nesting supposed to set in again?!?!?!
4. How ready are you for LO's arrival?
We are ready in terms of baby items but I'm not sure how mentally prepared we are. 5. Have you started thinking about labor or preparing in any way?
My DH is a police officer and I keep having nightmares I go into labor while he is trapped at work!! We have tried to run through different senarios of family and friends to call if he is unable to be reached. Other than that .. no preparing in any way.

I had my u/s today to see how big baby actually is and she's approximately 4 pounds 3 ounces (according to my What to Expect app, a full POUND above average. Omg). The tech said it's up to my doctor to alter my due date but they typically don't.
They couldn't get a great 3D image since she was moving so much but from what I can tell, she's cheeky!

1. How many weeks & EDD? 30 weeks and 3 days - July 26!
2. How often are you seeing your doctor? In two weeks I believe I will switch to every 2 weeks for the midwife, I see the MFM specialist every 6 weeks
3. How are you feeling? Tired. Excited. Scared. My friend just had her second and I can't believe my baby will be here soon!
4. How ready are you for LO's arrival? Yes and no? Have to haul out some baby gear and get it set up. The nursery should get painted this weekend and we are getting another crib from our neighbors.
5. Have you started thinking about labor or preparing in any way? Not really. I'm hoping to go med free but that depends how fast labor goes, I suppose!

Had our 33 week appointment with the OB yesterday and things seem to be going well. Last night I noticed one of my boobs was leaking a little bit -- anyone else experience this? Seems kind of early for that kind of thing, but I guess not (according to Dr. Google).

How's everyone's weekend going? We had our 2nd shower, and I seriously just feel so blessed, and mostly ready for LO to arrive!! It was an exhausting day, and my feet have turned into cankle style swelling since Friday!! hoping to lay around a lot for the rest of the holiday weekend!

@runnerd: so glad your baby showers went well!!
How is everyone else feeling? I'm feeling large and low but good otherwise (unless I do a lot of lifting LO's). Her room is finally coming together, just need a few finishing touches (some wall art and a lamp shade mostly).
I'll probably pack my hospital bag in a few weeks and start washing her clothes.
blogger / persimmon / 1225 posts
@runnerd: Yay for your shower! My second one is coming up on Sat the 31st, so excited to have my extended family in town.
And ohmygosh, me too on the swelling!!
@HLK208: yay for almost being done with nursery! We have all the big furniture items in, just need to add art, a mattress, changing pad, and clothing/accessories type stuff.
Also feeling large and extra tired these days. Oh and hot. Our AC is broken and while it's not that terrible outside, I'm just always extra warm these days.
The house is coming together but we are spending all our spare time on it. Can't wait to feel like we're at a place where baby can come and we'll be fully ready.
How is everyone else?

1. How many weeks & EDD?
2. What and when are you packing for your hospital bag? (share LO's coming home outfit if you have one picked!)

4. How are you distracting yourself while you wait on EDD?
5. Anyone anticipating LO having an early arrival?

1. How many weeks & EDD? 33 weeks today & 7/19
2. What and when are you packing for your hospital bag? (share LO's coming home outfit if you have one picked!) I just ordered a new weekend bag, and after we go out of town today, I don't have anymore plans for overnight travel before due date, so I'm hoping to start packing around 34 weeks. I need to get a few things to take like cheap comfy pants, robe, etc. and I still am searching for a coming home outfit! all our newborn size items are hand me downs and I want Finley to have a new outfit of his own lol.
3. What major items are left on your to do list? we need to install new blinds and light fixture in nursery, and purchase a glider, but we are all set otherwise (besides a bunch of little non-essentials).
4. How are you distracting yourself while you wait on EDD? DH and I have been going crazy reading blogs and books about minimalist living, and are currently working on phase one of ridding our house of items that aren't functional/useful or highly meaningful! (no more moving boxes of unused items from house to house when we move!)
5. Anyone anticipating LO having an early arrival? while I am hoping for a slightly early arrival, (sick of being pregnant!) not really expecting it. I have slightly higher pre-term labor risk bc of 2nd tri bleeding, but so far LO has been healthy at all my scans.
