@runnerd: so sorry you have yet another cause for concern for this pregnancy =( i would be worried too, but try and focus on the fact that both the main OB and the specialist aren't worrying about him right now, and that his vitals were good. I'll be keeping my fingers and toes crossed for the next scan to go well for you- keep us updated!

@runnerd: oh man, I hope LO gains some weight and grows!! I'm sorry that it's worrying you hoping for the best.

@coopsmama: ahhh, I'm starting to feel the same. I've had a lot of pelvic pain, pressure and cramping all night, every night - I'm just done.

I start to get bored, agitated and slightly depressed during the last month of pregnancy which is happening now I need to spend my days not sitting around but I'm also so tired! I feel way more tired right now than I do when I have a newborn.

Thanks ladies!! Trying my best not to stress out too bad.

@HLK208: I am there, too, on the slight depression. These last few weeks are so hard. I'm tired all the time and have a list a mile long so it's depressing to me to not be getting rest during C's naptime but it's also depressing to me to not be getting things checked off my list, too. It's hard to know how best to fill this time.

I had my 37 week (basically) appt today and found out that I am GBS negative which I'm thankful about! I was not wanting to have to worry about an IV. I don't want one places at the hospital unless absolutely necessary so this is a step in that direction!

Baby projects today include washing the pack n play sheet, all our baby blankets, the Rock n Play/Swing/Bouncer inserts, and pulling out our infant car seat from the garage and spot cleaning any areas that need to be addressed. I also want to type out out birth plan and work on beef and bean burritos and calzones for the freezer. So much to do!

    OK just getting caught up!

@littleredhairedgrl: Love the Ava updates, thanks for sharing!!

@runnerd: I'm really sorry, but glad your OB said not to be stressing about it too much! So unfair to have something to worry about right at the end here.

@coopsmama: @HLK208: Thanks for making me feel normal about feeling a bit depressed. I do feel weird all of a sudden, and just odd in my bump. Like not cramping or tightening but just discomfort? Things are changing!

I will be having my first cervical check and strep test next Wednesday because my family is going camping next weekend and my OB is really nervous about it for some reason. It's only an hour and a half away and I'll be sleeping in a pop-up tent camper (not on the ground). DH will be walking me to the bathroom in the middle of the night (I go every 1.5 hours, it's bad!) and I'm planning on doing a lot of nothing and just staying cool. I'm in MN so June still isn't that hot for us.

@coopsmama: Honestly, I wish I could skip the cervical check but she is kind of insisting which makes sense since I'll be farther away than normal. I feel like they mean nothing in relation to when you actually give birth.

I'm an end of July due date so not too worried about the 4th! But getting oddly excited (??) about birth and labor after my awesome natural birthing classes.

My OB and I see things VERY differently but she still appears like she'll be supportive of my med-free birth wish list (not plan!). I'm surprisingly relaxed about birth for someone's who generally anxiety-ridden but I hope this carries over for when labor actually starts!

Anyone else making a birth wish list or preferences sheet?

Also I want to make a birthday cake for baby boy during early labor, because it just sounds distracting and calming. My mom and husband feel like they don't know me right now, who says that!?!?!

It's OK, I know all this planning and I'll probably end up with an induction or c-section. A girl can dream, right?

@princessandthebee: haha that's a cute idea about baking for him! Much more ambitious than me though

@princessandthebee: Yeah, I only skip the cervical checks just because I know too many people who have gotten their hopes up based on it. My cousin was dilated to 4cm for 4 weeks and still went a week over! I also know someone who went from totally closed to delivery from her appt one morning to that evening! So, since I won't be traveling, I just leave it alone. I will let them check if I were to make it to 41 weeks though. And I'd request a membrane sweep!

I am making a little sheet for the hospital staff to note our preferences. We don't have that many. Off the top of my head: no IV lock, no internal fetal monitoring, no eye "goop" ;), no hep B vaccination, yes to Vitamin K, and delayed cord clamping. I'd prefer a med free birth but after last time I'm not even going to bother writing it down - 30 hours of natural labor and I NEEDED an epidural or I would have had a section. So I'm just going with the flow on that point!

Question - are y'all having cramping and/or achy uterus type feelings now? Not sure how better to describe lol. I have been very achy and crampy the past 3 days - no tightening like BH.

  12. HLK208

    pineapple / 12234 posts

@runnerd: Yes! Oh gosh, so much cramping especially at night. My doctor told me to drink more water but I'm already drinking so much.

  13. coopsmama

    cantaloupe / 6059 posts

@runnerd: No, not here! I would assume that means something is happening down there which is awesome! My body doesn't seem to be gearing up at all for labor. I have no doubt that some/most of you who aren't as far along as I am will go ahead of me because that's just the way my luck seems to be.

  14. mlm2934

    grapefruit / 4311 posts

@HLK208: yea everything I read talks about drinking water, but I already feel like I flood myself with water lol

@coopsmama: too funny you feel that way - I'm already on alert for an "I'm in labor" post from you soon!

  15. coopsmama

    cantaloupe / 6059 posts

@runnerd: Oh I hope so!! Send me labor vibes, please. My husband agrees by the way and thinks it will be sooner rather than later. This is totally TMI -- ack!! -- but he noticed my smell down there has totally changed in the past day and said it was so odd he felt like I should pack my hospital bag haha! I still feel like I have at least 3 weeks to go!

  16. MK0180

I have been very achy - my pelvis is not my friend- I have noticed my stomach does tighten from time to time so I believe that's BH. I had my 36 wk appt last week and cervix is clamped shut. The baby is pretty low and the Dr. said he will get even lower (I'd like to think she had sorrow in her eyes when she told me ) - everything hurts now.

I'm also pretty short (5'1") and my stomach is thisclose to the steering wheel so DH will have to start driving me to work. I never thought driving would be an issue!

I have to think that someone else off of the long July due date list has had their baby by now! I feel like the odds would say that's the case! I wish we were getting more updates from ladies on the list.

I can tell we're getting close when I'm far more interested in posting in this thread than I have been all pregnancy.

  18. HLK208

    pineapple / 12234 posts

@coopsmama: haha!! Same here I want to hear updates from everyone!!

  19. cookiemomster

A lot of ladies have kind of dropped off the board, I want updates also!!
I don't have much to post about, unfortunately. The nursery is almost complete, except for hanging artwork and making one more curtain panel. Aside from that and packing the hospital bag, we're pretty much ready! I was starting to do more meal prep/cleaning/all around nesting, but then I got a cold and it pretty much has me out for the count. I don't recommend being sick and this pregnant, I'm pretty much miserable.

Anyone else not had Braxton Hicks? I've had a couple of times where my stomach tightened up and it was a little uncomfortable, but the way people describe it I feel like I should be more positive that's what's happening. Not sure if I should be concerned it hasn't started yet.

Anyone have a coming home outfit picked out yet they want to share?

@runnerd: I had a few cramps the other day and have had a few BH, but nothing to get me excited. Have had a couple bouts with round ligament pain in the past couple weeks -- ouch!

  21. mlm2934

    grapefruit / 4311 posts

Totally agree with everyone that I want more updates! @coopsmama: I'm with ya wondering if some babies have already arrived!

@lauraeabel: I'm not sure if I've had BH. I think I might have had a few - like tightening that I thought was the baby pushing or something might have been BH? I dunno, I've read both - that you'll know, and also that some people don't feel them!

  22. mlm2934

    grapefruit / 4311 posts

@NorCalWayfarer: I've been thinking about this outfit, but I'm going to take a couple of options.

  23. coopsmama

    cantaloupe / 6059 posts

@lauraeabel: Those sound like Braxton Hicks to me! I bet you're having them more frequently than you think but that they just aren't that noticeable.

I've been having lots of BH and painful contractions off and on but have been for weeks so nothing new there.

@runnerd: Oh that's SO cute! I adore navy and white on little boys! My son practically wore all navy and blue the first few months of his life.

  24. Mrs. Cookie

    blogger / persimmon / 1225 posts

    @coopsmama: That's funny/awesome your husband can tell, I hope he's right!!
I know, I'd love to hear more updates too!!
Also, what's the eye goop about?

@runnerd: Cute coming home outfit! I still need to pick one, ah!
I'm also having weird cramps/tightening, just things happening but they're hard to pinpoint and I feel more and more uncomfortable.

TMI TIME: Anyone else get an external hemorrhoid? I had the WORST constipation last night and pushed for like 30 min, it was great labor prep honestly because I had to utilize breathing- it was so painful! But then there was something swollen on the outside of my anus and it hurt to sit down. Ugh, I feel so disgusting right now. I think the swelling is going down but I'm afraid that it's going to get worse again during my next BM.. I'm upping my stool softener intake like immediately!

I have an appointment tomorrow as well, will update after that!

  25. coopsmama

    cantaloupe / 6059 posts

@princessandthebee: Oh, the eye "goop" is an erythromycin ointment they put on newborns' eyes routinely to prevent infection due to chlamydia or gonorrhea. This article summarizes it well: http://evidencebasedbirth.com/is-erythromycin-eye-ointment-always-necessary-for-newborns/ It doesn't really seem to have any risk so that's not my reason for declining it - DH and I have only been with each other so we're at 0 risk and so it's just pointless for us to accept it. It makes the babies eyes look funky and shiny when they smear it on so on a cosmetic level and for pictures I really don't want it ahaha.

@princessandthebee: I have luckily avoided hemorrhoid land so far! But that sounds miserable lol

@runnerd: really cute onesie! I should probably figure out what she's coming home in....

@coopsmama maybe I am having them then and they aren't super strong or something. Hoping that doesn't mean my uterus isn't preparing itself enough!

@princessandthebee fortunately I've avoided that problem so far, probably because I'm so freaked out by the idea I take extra fiber supplements and miralax at the first sign of trouble. Sorry you're going through that. It sounds pretty painful =(

This is DD's coming home outfit. I had picked out an adorable Ralph Lauren romper but DH went to Macy's and found this sleeper and insists this is what she will come home in haha. He picked out the coming home outfit for DS so I guess that's just his job or something! It's never extremely hot here so I think she will be fine even though it's a sleeper with feet.

@coopsmama: cute! And aww that's sweet that he picked it out! the other option I'm packing is one DH suggested too, so just gonna see which fits better when time comes.

@runnerd: @lauraeabel: It's crazy painful although really good prep for baby pushing and feeling like you just want it come out NOW. I really did some good breathing practice/staying calm practice last night, haha. trying to look on the bright side I guess?

@coopsmama: Gotcha! Thanks for the info! I know, gotta look cute for those fresh new baby pics! And we have some of those sleepers with the animal faces on the butt, haven't seen the fox though- love it!

@lauraeabel: Definitely feeling some BH today! High up on my uterus, just below my ribs. Weird.

@princessandthebee: miralax!!! Worked wonders when I took zofran during this pregnancy. But I'm so sorry, constipation at this stage in pregnancy would make me feel like I would push the baby out lol. Scary!

    @coopsmama: adorable!!!

Anyone have any items left to buy? I don't really...but I'm tired at home all day so I've been browsing amazon. I think I'll buy a few nursing bra's and a recovery girdle. Today I purchased a nursing tank, diaper genie on-the-go bags and some diaper genie refill bags.

    Hi ladies,

Just checking in to say hi! Just coming up to 35 weeks and getting a little impatient to meet the baby! Have moved on from focusing on the labour part and getting a little worried about the taking care of a newborn part! But hey ho, undoubtedly we will survive!

Have been getting lots of back cramps in the evenings this week - so hopefully the body is gearing up to get this show on the road. Baby is head down (or at least was at the last appointment) and hopefully will stay that way.

Buggest complaint is the heat and resulting lack of sleep, so I guess if that's the worst I am doing pretty ok. I'm like a walking zombie in work most days, but only this week and next week to go.

I think I will spend most of the time between finishing work and the baby coming stocking up the freezer. Any suggestions on some nice easy to individually portion meals?!

Haven't put much thought into a hospital bag yet - but I guess that should be on my to do list very soon. I grew up in a temperate climate so I am slightly confused as to how to dress a newborn for this heat, and therefore have no thoughts as of yet for a going home outfit!

Anyway, we're still successfully team green, but my instincts are telling me we're having a boy... looking forward to seeing if I am correct

@HLK208: I was taking Ducolax but clearly not often enough! Haha, I definitely like I'm pushing a baby sometimes. It's so bizarre. I mean I've never done it, but I imagine it to be similar.

@MrsCDH: thanks for the update! I too need to get working on a hospital bag and frozen meals but I hate cooking so I've been putting that off! It will be fun to see if your prediction is right!

Shoooot. I think I'm having prodromal labor. Contractions are painful, a minute long but every 5-7 minutes. It's lasted for at least 45 minutes. Going to take a shower, drink more water and see if it goes away.

  37. coopsmama

    cantaloupe / 6059 posts

@HLK208: Oh dear! Keep us updated. Or maybe baby N is just interested in coming early? I hope for your sake you can get those to die down and go away until at least 37 weeks.

@coopsmama: @princessandthebee: thanks, ladies! I took a bath, Tylenol, drank a lot of water and then took a nap and they went away. Whew. I couldn't talk through the contractions earlier though. They were intense and scary. Now I feel like I have nothing ready. I hope this doesn't continue for the next 4 weeks.

@HLK208: Do we have an update? I've been checking this thread like crazy! It's a quiet Wednesday afternoon here and I need to know what's going on!

ETA - Oh there we go. I'm glad you got them to stop. I really hope you don't have to endure weeks of prodromal labor. That has been my worst labor fear with both pregnancies. My friend just went through it and it was so emotionally draining.

I know what you mean about not feeling ready. Your post has reminded me I should have DH install our infant car seat back into my car tonight - just in case! 37 weeks, 3 days here and you just never know. DS and I are going to go pick up the final supplies we need tomorrow, too.
