I'm 37 weeks today and DH is out of town until late Friday night. He's an hour and a half plane ride away (8 hour drive). My parents kind of freaked out and now my mom is coming to spend the next three days with me (they only live an hour away). I appreciate the concern, but think it's totally overkill (plus I like being by myself -- it may be the last time I can be by myself for a LONG time). I think I'm going to put her to work going grocery shopping and cleaning for me

@HLK208: we went and bought last few little odds and ends today - baby nail clippers, thermometer, some organizers for drawers - now just the waiting game lol
@MrsCDH: glad to hear your update!! Be sure you let us know when we find out if it's boy or girl! I love hearing team green results. I've not been able to convince myself to do any freezer meals, so I'm no help there!
@NorCalWayfarer: haha, I'd be bummed to miss out on that alone time, but I'd also be a little freaked for DH to be that far away!
AFM, cramps and pelvic pressure continue, with some back aches as well! gets my hopes up that my body is prepping up! Especially if I end up having to be induced, it would be nice for my body to already be doing its part.

Had my 34 week appt and ultrasound. Baby did not maintain her growth and fell in percentile. I'm 34 weeks and she's measuring at 32 weeks at about 4 lbs 4 oz (1941 grams). They moved my next ultrasound to 37 weeks to check on growth. It's not bad news yet, but not great that she dropped off her growth curve.
My first baby was IUGR, so glad we are catching it earlier this time.

@LemonLong: I'm sorry lady, but like you said still not bad news! I'm counting down the days until my growth scan in a week. Our LO was estimated at 4lb 2oz at 34w5d.
I'll be thinking positive thoughts for both of us that the babes are plumping up!

We had a growth sono on monday. Baby is measuring 6lbs 14 oz with a head and feet that measure 40+ weeks My DH is convinced she will come out looking like a pep boy lol. At my last appointment I was dilated to a 1! I have another appointment monday and hope for some progress! I bought a cute 4th of July outfit just in case LO decides to come early! Is anyone else not sleeping at all at night anymore?? I feel like I get up to pee 10 times and as soon as I get comfortable I have to switch sides so my hips won't cramp! It won't be long now!!

@coopsmama that sleeper is super cute! It's way too hot here to pull off something like that for her coming home outfit, but I think we decided on this which I will order tomorrow:

@hlk208 I can't decide if the prodromal labor is scary it exciting for you! I hope it doesn't cause weeks of stress, and that your body is just preparing...
As for stuff we have to buy, it's mostly just odds and ends and some nursing tops/bras, but I'm starting to get overwhelmed by how little time is left to purchase everything.
@norcalwayfarer it would concern me too if my husband had to be that far away this close, but I think them staying with you does seem like overkill. Putting her to good use with cleaning etc sounds like a good plan though =)
@lemonlong and @runnerd hopefully both of y'all's next growth scans go well!! So sorry to hear you're both going through that, it sounds like a very stressful thing to deal with this late in the game. Keep everyone posted! I've got fingers and toes crossed for both babies
@mesjansson Sounds like you're getting close! Exciting!

@lauraeabel: Is that a sleep sack type thing? Does it have leg holes? Just a thought but if not - it may not be the best/most comfy thing for her for the car seat ride home! But would definitely be cute before/after.
@Mrsjansson: I'm jealous of you for getting to see your sweet baby so late in the game via ultrasound! Our last ultrasound was at 19 weeks so it has been a long time! I'm glad she is looking healthy. I haven't bought a 4th of July outfit for DD even though she is only due 2 days afterwards. I still really feel like I will be late.
@LemonLong: I'm hoping that it was just a fluke and not a signal of bad news or IUGR! Pack on the weight, baby!
As for me, last night was my first night of GOOD sleep in about a week -- only up 2x to pee and no insomnia. It felt amazing! I'm not holding out hope for tonight but at this point I feel decent about having 2.5-3 weeks to go. I can do it!
I have to say, though -- I'm really hoping baby comes sometime during the 39th week because my ILs will be out of the country and I don't want them coming to the hospital. MIL told me on Sunday she really wants baby to be born before or after they are gone so she can be there. Uhhh...NO.
This is the woman who told people I had to be transferred to the hospital (during a 30 hour natural labor that went on another 6 hours) because I "hadn't endured enough" and "hadn't prepared enough for labor." I don't want her at the hospital during or after and I don't even really want to talk about the birth story this time. So I'm holding out hope little girl decides to come sometime between June 29th - July 4th.

Hi all! I wasn't able to update too often, but wanted to let you know that Baby E arrived Monday night! I was only 36+3, but he was 6 lb. 14 oz. and 20 in. long. We are in love with our little boy, exhausted and amazed at our older LO's love for his brother already. I'll try to post his birth story soon.

@afpfgirl: oh my goodness! What a sweet boy and a great size for being early! Congrats mama!
kiwi / 714 posts
@coopsmama: you know that's a fantastic point, and one I hadn't even considered.... Chalk it up to first time momdom. Maybe I could throw a pair of pants on under for the car ride? It's only a five minute drive from our house to the hospital. Or maybe I should keep looking....
Yay for sleep! I've had a cold on top of being this pregnant, so sleep hasn't been in the cards. I'm trying to tell myself it's just prep for once the baby comes and sleep is a distant memory =)
As for the stuff with your inlaws, she sounds pretty awful. I honestly think it's odd they would plan a trip this close to your due date if being there is that important, but I'm crossing my fingers for you she comes between those dates.
I'm still trying to figure out how to handle my mom, because she's our problem parent. I want my in laws to be there badly, and I'm not sure how to do that without having my mom around also, but she causes so much stress I'm terrified to tell her I'm in labor. Hopefully a good plan comes to me with the next few weeks.
@afpfgirl he is PRECIOUS!!! Congratulations! Can't wait to hear the birth story!
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
@lauraeabel: A pair of pants would probably work, or just a onesie underneath unless that's too warm/too many layers!
Oh, and the IL's planned this trip before they knew we were expecting again. In fact, they'd wanted us to go with them before they knew so we dodged a bullet on that one ahaha! The IL's were some of the last to know about this pregnancy because with baby 1 they decided to share our news with their friends (and some of ours!) before we were ready. Drama!! I just can't even with them!
I hope you're able to figure out how to navigate what to do with your mom. That is so awkward and hard. But really, as the laboring mama -- what you're comfortable with is the most important. It there is a history of drama and stress between you guys, I hope she would be able to understand that.
pineapple / 12234 posts
@LemonLong: hoping for the best!
@lauraeabel: it's nice to feel like my body is making progress but then I read in books and various sites that false labor means nothing! But anyway, pretty outfit!!! Coopsmama is right though, gowns are tricky in the car seat! A lot of etsy shops offer onesie versions though so it might be worth asking about!
@coopsmama: so glad you got a good night sleep! I only peed once last night (11pm-6am) it was SO nice!!! I'm starting to take naps when LO's do so I can keep up. Well, "keep up" just means barely making it through the day, haha. Holding, lifting, bathing LO's is getting so exhausting.
I hope baby comes a little early so you don't have to stress about MIL! Ugh, those comments are ridiculous!

Have any of you bought or used any of the strap or zippered type of swaddles? If so, is it a must have? I really want a woombie, but don't want to waste $25 if it's not really needed, plus DH keeps saying it looks like a baby straight jacket and making me feel bad lol

@runnerd: yes! Swaddleme's were so, so helpful. I haven't tried the Woombie but I bought a few different kinds this time (swaddle pod was one of them).

cantaloupe / 6059 posts
@HLK208: I understand what you mean by barely making it through the day. These last few weeks have been so much more exhausting than the were the first go around and I'm sure it's because of having a busy kiddo to run after. I can't imagine having two! I do want to have a 3rd and maybe even 4th, but I don't know how I will do it physically! Pregnancy is tough. After reading your post this morning about napping when your LO's do I gave myself permission to ignore the house and did the same thing today. SO worth it!
@runnerd: We didn't use a swaddle with DS but that's because we co-slept from the get go and he went from sleeping with us to a Magic Merlin's suit at 5-6 months in his own bed/crib. I think it just varies baby to baby what works. If this one needs to be swaddled, the Woombie does look cool and we may have to invest in it!

Hi everyone! So sorry to not update very often but work blocked this website!!
I was team green but my DAUGHTER, Olivia Lynne was born on Monday June 16th at 5:01 pm. She weighed 6 lbs 10 ounces and was 18.5 inches long. Labor wasn't too long - my water broke at 1:30 am and I had an epidural. I was very happy with my labor and delivery and am totally in love with my baby girl!!

@justdarling: awww congrats!!! Olivia was one of top girl name picks, so of course I love it! glad y'all are doing well.

@coopsmama: so I'm not sure why - maybe it's because you are all baby and have this adorable bump and 2nd time mom, but I'm already on baby watch for you! lol. so for fun, i'm going to predict a bday of 6/26 for your LO!
and while i'm making predictions @NorCalWayfarer: i'm giving you prediction of 7/5
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@thismustbetheplace: haven't heard from you in a little bit, so wanted to check in! make sure you hadn't snuck off and gone into labor or anything.
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
@justdarling: Congratulations! Another sweet July baby turned June baby! How fun to be team green and find out in the moment - I'm actually kinda jealous. Welcome, Olivia!
@runnerd: oh you're so sweet! Thanks for making me feel like my bump is cute! I just feel like I'm smuggling a big egg or something - it sticks out so far! There are only like 2-3 maternity tops that will cover it these days. I would love LO to be born 6/26!!! I hope your prediction comes true. Sadly, I've hardly had any labor signs (although I guess I had none with C before going into labor) so I'm not holding out hope but man, it would be so nice to be done and have a newborn to snuggle!
I've been making DH have....ahem...relations with me even though it's not the most fun at this stage of the game on the offhand chance it helps. And have been taking my birth prep herbs religiously and my labor tea. And have been bouncing on the yoga ball. I would just love not to go 5 days late again!
kiwi / 633 posts
@runnerd: Thanks for checking in... I've been meaning to write an update for a while now but things have been so so crazy!
I'll get into more details later but DH has been offered a very unexpected job opportunity (which would allow me at least 1 year of being a SAHM- something we had given up hope for), and because of that we're considering a big move within the next month. If everything goes according to plan the official offer/contract should be in next week, but in the meantime we've been scrambling to try and find housing 9 hours away, and make a plan for how we're going to make this work logistically. A big part of me thinks we're completely bonkers for considering doing this at such a crazy time in our lives... but I honestly don't know how we could pass it up without seriously regretting it in the future.
So, long story short, no baby here yet. Just lots of stress which I am *trying* to keep to a minimum for mine and baby's sake!
Congrats to those of you who have welcomed your little ones already! I'm so excited to get this show on the road
kiwi / 714 posts
@thismustbetheplace: oh wow, that's big!! It will definitely make for a hectic couple months but if it's right for your family, it will work out. Good luck making the decision and with the move of you decide on that!!
So all these early babies have me a little nervous the outfit I ordered won't come in time, so we bought this one as a back up on the off chance she comes early, or if the gown type style of the other ends up not working for the car seat etc. All the rest of our odds and ends from amazon arrive Tuesday, so after that I'm ready to get this show on the road! Not that I think there's a shot of me realistically lucking out with an early baby.

@coopsmama: omg. Props to you for WANTING to have "relations" (in my head, that sounds very Bill Clinton lol). We DTD once in the past two weeks and it was SO painful. I had contractions the whole time/the whole night.
@lauraeabel: that outfit is so sweet!!! Love the hot air balloons!
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
@lauraeabel: I love that outfit! It's adorable.
@HLK208: I hated myself immediately after typing "relations" but since this isn't a gold thread I didn't want to be too explicit LOL. But oh gosh - here goes nothing: my favorite position is off limits thanks to my giant belly, so DTD is doing absolutely nothing for me. But a good friend swears by....uhhh...doggy style for sending you into labor if (and only if) you're close and your cervix is ready to go. So I'm giving it a try!
If nothing else, it's making DH a happy man before our postpartum break.
And now you all know far too much about my current sex life.
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@coopsmama: hahaha. baby would just have to stay put for me, that's one position I will not be going for preggers!
@HLK208: DH has asked about sex twice this weekend, and it's taken all my strength not to straight up say that I'm pretty sure the shop is closed for the rest of this pregnancy.
@lauraeabel: love love the outfit!!
@thismustbetheplace: man that's an exciting update!! It may be hectic for a little bit but sounds like it will be so worth it! I have to admit I'm a little jealous, bc I'd move like yesterday but DH isn't on board until LO is closer to a year.
grapefruit / 4311 posts
Oh wanted to add, I've not really been sure about if I've had BH, but I'm pretty positive had them last night and all through the night. I kept noticing my stomach being tight, and then softer later on. I've stayed really crampy with back pain too.
