Ah, I love reading updates here! Especially now that we're getting close!!
1. How many weeks & EDD? 33 weeks on Tuesday/July 22nd
2. What and when are you packing for your hospital bag? (share LO's coming home outfit if you have one picked!)
Maternity yoga pants, nursing tank, need to buy a robe, an outfit for going home (for me) snacks and that's about it! I never used a lot of what I packed. Of course the basics like shampoo, blow dryer, body wash, cell phone charger and make-up. Then all of baby items too. I'll probably pack by 35/36 weeks...I'm a planner and I can't wait much longer than that!
3. What major items are left on your to do list? I need to finish the DIY mobile, paint her letters for the wall, hang wall art, wash all of the newborn clothes and crib bedding and buy another baby carrier.
4. How are you distracting yourself while you wait on EDD? Just playing with the LO's! I have a maternity shoot this Tuesday (it was pushed back) just by a friend who's starting his photography business.
5. Anyone anticipating LO having an early arrival? Not really. I have painful BH contractions at night but my first two kiddos arrived on their DD so I'm sure this one will too.
Here is baby's coming home outfit!

@HLK208: I love your LO's outfit! Too precious
1. How many weeks & EDD? 35 wks on Wed. EDD: July 9
2. What and when are you packing for your hospital bag? (share LO's coming home outfit if you have one picked!) I've thought about it, does that count? I bought some nursing sleep bras that are way comfortable and so I think I'll be taking those. A nightgown, maybe slippers, snacks obviously, and the usual toiletries. Oh and maybe a boppy as I heard it's a good idea to bring one but then I think, can't I use a pillow? I'm a minimalist and so the less stuff I have the better. Plus LO's stuff. Not sure on an outfit for him yet!
3. What major items are left on your to do list? We need a rug for his room, little nick nacky things and decor still. We are taking a hospital tour today and have an interview with a highly suggested pediatrician this week. My FMLA got approved last week but I still have some questions with HR that I need to inquire about.
4. How are you distracting yourself while you wait on EDD? Work, unfortunately - found a huge issue last week that I have to deal with and hopefully I can get it done before the baby comes Also the internet has been a good distraction. And Game of Thrones (seriously, last night's episode. WTF)
5. Anyone anticipating LO having an early arrival? DH thinks he'll either arrive around his due date or earlier. I'm not so sure - while I hope that's the case as it's been pretty hot here in CO, I think he'll be a typical first baby and be late. However, he is sitting low and the pelvic pressure and electric shocks to the nether regions are starting to become unbearable. Ugh, it hurts. I feel so lazy that I have to lay down after walking around a store or doing the dishes.
Was reading the June thread and many babies being born. And then I think - we're next!!!!

I've been on vacation so I plan to answer the questions later tonight after work. Reading everyone's posts is so exciting!
@MK0180: FWIW the l&d nurse who ran our childbirth classes really suggests not bringing a boppy. The hospital should have plenty of pillows and people to help you with bf positioning, and while a boppy is easier than a bunch of standard pillows (I've heard), they don't want things the baby will be using for extended periods of time at home in the hospital because of the germs and stuff that are naturally in a hospital.
She said it's totally up to you if you bring it, but that talked me out of packing one anyway. One less thing to worry about!

1. 35 weeks on Wednesday! EDD 7/9
2. Nothing packed yet, will probably pack around 36 weeks. Got this super cute onesie (http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=95604&vid=1&pid=975334002), but I'm thinking I'll want to put him in something warmer? It can get 100 degrees here in the summer, but we'll just be going from the hospital, to the air conditioned car, to the air conditioned house, so I'm not sure what I should put him in...
3. Not much left to do...work shower on Wednesday and working until end of June. Had family/friends shower this weekend -- people were very generous. Need to order my breast pump (posted a thread about Pumping Essentials).
4. Working, HB, gardening, etc.
5. Would love to have an end of June/early July baby -- I don't think I could handle having to wait until mid-July!

@lauraeabel: lurking!
Our hospital told us to bring extra pillows and a boppy. They said they are always short on pillows and certainly don't have enough if dad is staying there. I'm so glad we had our two extra bed pillows AND our boppy. Definitely something to ask your hospital about!

1. How many weeks & EDD? 33w+3, 7/18
2. What and when are you packing for your hospital bag? (share LO's coming home outfit if you have one picked!)
I probably won't pack until around 37 weeks, but I plan on packing snacks, nursing bras, an ON knit maxi skirt to labor in, a cheap night gown (i like having options), toiletries, snacks, and my cell phone charger. As for her coming home outfit, we haven't shopped for that yet... I'm dropping the ball apparently!
3. What major items are left on your to do list?
Organizing her closet, packing the hospital bag, prepping the cloth diapers we have, and washing all of her clothes. We also have a bunch of art work and book shelves to hang, not sure tht counts as major though.
4. How are you distracting yourself while you wait on EDD?
Between work and prepping for her, I'm feeling like there's almost not enough time! We just got back from a ten day vacation with the in-laws, so that was a really nice distraction for a while =)
5. Anyone anticipating LO having an early arrival?
I would be totally fine with her coming any time after 38 weeks, but I doubt she'll get here early. I'm anxious to meet her though, and I'm getting kind of sick of being pregnant.

Oh I love little check-ins! It's been fun to read the updates.
1. How many weeks & EDD? 35 weeks, 2 days
2. What and when are you packing for your hospital bag? Ha. Well, with DS I was packing up right before we left for the birth center so I hope to be a little more ahead of the game then that this time. But realistically probably not until 38/39 weeks. I went to 40-5 with DS. As far as what I'm packing - just the norm! I'm hoping not to have to stay too long. At our hospital, if all goes well, you can leave 12 hours after giving birth which would be ideal to me.
DD will likely be going home in this adorable Ralph Lauren pink and floral romper that I found in newborn size. It is ridiculously soft and adorable.
3. What major items are left on your to do list? We didn't have a nursery to prepare or anything and since it's a second child we haven't had much to do in prep. I need to stock up on newborn and size 1 diapers, wash her clothes, and buy a double stroller. I need to stock up on postpartum supplies like pads for myself. Oh, I'm also hoping to get a breast pump through my insurance this time so I should probably get on that, too.
4. How are you distracting yourself while you wait on EDD? Freezer meals! I've been working on getting something in the freezer every day. Ideally we'd have 20-30 dinners ready to go by the time M arrives.
5. Anyone anticipating LO having an early arrival? Not at all. I went to 40 and 5 with DS so I definitely expect this one to be a July baby - and probably a few days past due. Fortunately, I'm pretty comfortable and I feel like this pregnancy has gone by fast enough anyways.

1. How many weeks & EDD? 32 weeks, 1 day. EDD July 28
2. What and when are you packing for your hospital bag? Haven't thought much about it yet. I need to figure out what I'll be wearing while laboring. As far as a coming home outfit, I don't have a special one. I'll just bring a few things and put baby in whatever fits.
3. What major items are left on your to do list? We need to install blinds or a shade on the nursery window. I need to buy my pump and breast feeding supplies. And my husband and I need to come to an agreement on circumcision in case baby is a boy (he's pro, I'm anti). Oh, and I need to get this baby to flip, because it's breech right now.
4. How are you distracting yourself while you wait on EDD? I'm just trying to make it through my last 6 weeks of work before going on leave. And I've been sleeping a lot.
5. Are anticipating LO having an early arrival? I haven't thought much about it.

1. How many weeks & EDD?
33 Weeks 1 day EDD July 22nd
2. What and when are you packing for your hospital bag?
(share LO's coming home outfit if you have one picked!)
I will start packing around 36 weeks. My son came early at 38 weeks and I hadn't packed a bag. This time I plan to be more prepared! No coming home outfit yet.. Still Shopping though!
3. What major items are left on your to do list?
Buy Breast Pump. Buy post-partum stuff. Hang curtains in Nursery.
4. How are you distracting yourself while you wait on EDD?
I have been so busy at work and tired when I get home I haven't had to do much to kill time.
5. Anyone anticipating LO having an early arrival?
I wouldn't mind if she came anytime after 37 weeks. I'm guessing 38 just like her brother!

@HLK208: Love that coming home outfit- it's beautiful!
1. How many weeks & EDD?
33 weeks tomorrow and due July 25th
2. What and when are you packing for your hospital bag? (share LO's coming home outfit if you have one picked!)
No idea what he'll wear home from hospital! Probably will want to buy something special but haven't given it much thought. Will start packing hospital bag at the end of June or early July.
3. What major items are left on your to do list?
Install car seat into car. Finish birthing classes (4 more Sundays), add photos to nursery, buy a few more items off registry at BRU, finish washing baby clothes, work more on the house in general, haha!
4. How are you distracting yourself while you wait on EDD?
house stuff and more house stuff. Camping trip at 35 weeks (yes I'm crazy) but we have a pop-up tent camper. Still making my hubby help me to the bathroom at night though. Not rushing it at all... yet! I still need time to mentally prepare!
5. Anyone anticipating LO having an early arrival?
Hubby has an appt for oral surgery on July 11th so I'm guessing that's when I'll need a ride to the hospital. I'm kidding, I'm hoping for right around due date or little before. Not expecting to go too early though.

Also, a note on breast pumps, our insurance is covering ours and we're supposed to request one at the hospital after I give birth and they'll bill the insurance company right there, seems pretty easy so I thought I'd pass that along in case someone else's insurance/hospital will do the same!

Man I have been so out of it this week with allergies! Finally starting to feel better though. We have our last shower today! Looking forward to more goodies for our little guy but a little nervous too since I'm really reserved and this is a church shower so a lot of people I'm not too close to.
What's new with y'all?
nectarine / 2134 posts
@runnerd: Hope your showers went well!
We had our showers last week and everyone was very generous! We only have a few minor things left to get (extra crib sheets, changing pad, etc).
@princessandthebee: Just ordered my pump through Pumping Essentials (supposed to work with my insurance to get a free Medela PISA, without the tote, but includes a hands-free nursing bra). I'm looking forward to getting a free pump!
36 weeks this week and starting dr appts every week! Need to get DH to read the birth books since we're exactly a month away from our due date! Eek!
pineapple / 12234 posts
@runnerd: ah, not much is new here - I'm pretty sure my doctor will do the group B strep test tomorrow (she mentioned it at my last appointment) and I'm not looking forward to it. So uncomfortable.
persimmon / 1135 posts
@runnerd: Hi and sorry for my delayed response to your post!! As I'm sure you can imagine, it's definitely been tough for me to keep up with things while running back and forth to NICU but I need to catch up on HB!
Ava is almost 35 weeks corrected and is doing great and starting to take every feed by bottle!! We are working on nursing too but it's been tough for her - she tires out pretty quickly, but the lactation consultants say she's doing well and will get the hang of things soon! She also just had her first eye exam which went well (but was so hard for us to watch ) and is now 4.5lbs!!
I hope all of you are feeling good (even through this hot sticky weather!) and look forward to reading more updates
nectarine / 2134 posts
@littleredhairedgrl: Great to hear Ava is doing so well!
I had my 36 week appointment today. Did the group B test (Q-tip swab vaginally and rectally -- not that bad). Also checked my cervix -- dilated 1cm and softening, but still long. She said it was a good sign that we are moving toward having the baby, but no indication of when baby will come.
We watched some of the birth videos last night (McMoyler Method, Best Birth) and DH was definitely more receptive to the videos than he has been to reading the books, so that's good. He even asked this morning what I'm going to pack in my hospital bag!
pineapple / 12234 posts
@NorCalWayfarer: I was just going to ask if anyone has had a cervical check. My OB asked to do one today (34 weeks) and I declined because it feels like I'm not far enough along!
nectarine / 2134 posts
@HLK208: My midwife didn't offer until 36 weeks and even then she said it wasn't necessary but would do it if I wanted to know.
pineapple / 12234 posts
@NorCalWayfarer: yeah, I think I'll hold off until 36 weeks since I've heard/read it can actually move things along by being checked
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@littleredhairedgrl: so glad y'all are doing well! I can only imagine how busy you have been! Can you remind me her birthday? I want to make sure I get it right when I start updating our arrivals list!
@HLK208: I think my doctor will start then next week when I'll be 35w5d at appt

Random question - can't remember if we've discussed or not - is anyone hoping for a Fourth of July baby? I know some people like the idea, that's the one day I'm really hoping not to have him since I want him to have his own day! Prolly not too likely for me anyways since that would be 38wk.
pineapple / 12234 posts
@runnerd: it would be fun...buuut I'm hoping she gets her own day too
nectarine / 2134 posts
@runnerd: We're hoping for a 4th of July baby (I'm actually hoping for end of June, but we'll see...). I figure any birthday around the 4th of July won't be very "fun" since most people are on vacation/doing their own thing. At least with a 4th of July birthday you can always have a big family get-together or make it a family vacation (which you could do with a birthday around that time too). I have an early January birthday and it was always conflated with Christmas.
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
@runnerd: I'm only due 2 days after the Fourth and I'd really like to avoid that day, too. I just don't think it'd be fun to have to share a birthday with a holiday every year! I had C 5 days late so I'm assuming that will be the case with this baby, too, so it won't be much of an issue!
@littleredhairedgrl: thanks for the update! I've been wondering how that sweet girl is doing! So glad all is going well and I hope you and your DH are able to get good rest what with all the stresses of the NICU!
@HLK208: I hope your Group B swab went well -- well, as well as it can. I can't wait to find the results out of mine this week - I had it last week. I found out after stripping down that they would have let me do my own! I decline all cervical checks simply because I don't really think they are that indicative of anything so it would've been nice to have known about that option before donning the nice paper sheet they give you to wrap around yourself haha!
@NorCalWayfarer: I love when husbands get involved in this stuff! My husband has definitely already been reminding me I need to pack my hospital bag... still haven't done it, oops! I'm such a procrastinator.
I have my 37 week appointment Friday morning and am so hoping to hear I've passed the group B test. Otherwise, just hanging out in the late third trimester and getting excited to meet LO. I am going to wash all her clothes tonight. My church is throwing me a shower on the 28th so I'll have more to wash after that but I figure I should have at least some of it washed in the unlikely situation I go a bit earlier than expected. Freezer meals are going well - I have breakfasts covered for 2 weeks and 5 meals in the freezer and I know we'll have help from family and friends the first week so I'm not too concerned but am aiming for another 10 or so! Still feeling awesome!
Eeek! We're getting so CLOSE! I can't wait to see this thread explode with babies!
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@NorCalWayfarer: that's a good point about if it does end up being close to 4th, might as well be the 4th
@coopsmama: goodness 37 weeks! I forget some of you ladies are so much closer to the big day than me
Now I'm wondering when I'll have the group B test!
pineapple / 12234 posts
@coopsmama: I declined it yesterday! My doctor said if we weren't doing a cervical check then she would hold off to do the group B until next appt. Gosh, it's crazy that you're 37 weeks already!!
Is anyone making to-do lists like crazy? I am! Nesting has taken over. They aren't even baby related tasks but just projects that I want done before baby comes (like washing our windows and screens, trimming our plants and putting down mulch, staining our fence) I don't know why I feel like these have to get done pre-baby?!
nectarine / 2134 posts
@HLK208: Hahhah I just made DH help me wash the windows the other weekend! I guess I'm nesting? I'm definitely in the list-making mode -- what to pack in the hospital bag, chores for DH, last-minute things to buy before baby gets here. I need to clean out the freezer and get some freezer meals going too. I made a bunch of muffins the other day, but we already went through like half of them!

I had a dream I last night that I was at a wine bar and got a full glass of Pinot Noir - man I can't wait for that to be real glass of wine!! Lol

Well had my specialist appointment today for growth ultrasound. It was pretty mediocre news. our LO has been measuring in 25% percentile for the past 3 appointments, but today he had dropped from 25% to 11% in growth since appt 4 weeks ago, which makes him borderline IUGR.
The specialist didn't seem too worried (or not as worried as it made DH and I), but I have another growth scan in 2 weeks, and if he hasn't gained enough weight by then, I'll probably be induced right at 37 weeks. blah!!! so much uncertainty now, so I may have more like 3 weeks to go instead of 5 weeks if his stats aren't good. My main OB made me feel a little better since she said the specialist wouldn't have sent me home if the baby wasn't otherwise healthy, and that I don't need to worry about his health in-between appointments as long as I am feeling movement.
I'm still a little freaked out though, cause if he grows the same rate until 40 weeks as he did the past 4 weeks, he still will barely make it to 5.5lbs.
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
@runnerd: I guess I'd missed the memo you were seeing a specialist for a growth ultrasound! Man, you've had so many scares this pregnancy. I'm sorry! I hope everything turns out okay and that you are able to avoid an induction and are able to carry him as long as it's healthy and safe!
Ugh. Today I decided I am over being pregnant. I woke up today in pain - my hips, legs, feet, lower back. So much pain! I've never really had pain before while pregnant so it threw me for a loop. I know it's totally normal but honestly, it's making me want my due date to get here already. I'm ready to get this baby out!
pear / 1698 posts
@runnerd: my first had IUGR, I was induced at exactly 38 weeks. She was 5 lbs 2 oz, and perfectly healthy. We didn't need any extra hospital time, and she left the hospital at 4 lbs 11 oz. I'm undergoing extra monitoring this time too. Having a small baby made labor much easier, I think! I EBF her and she caught up in growth pretty quickly. Hang in there, I know it can be stressful!
