@coopsmama I somehow missed that last paragraph last night, not sure what happened there. I was an idiot and made my username far too google-able to go into much detail on nongold, but I will say both me and DH have been sick on top of me being this pregnant so the past two weeks the shop shut itself down majorly. I hope for both our sakes we get over this soon and dtd isn't way too uncomfortable- I plan to regardless because anything that may move this along I will try!

@runnerd I've been getting them randomly the past three days or so, especially if I have to pee or I'm walking too fast- yesterday at work they were pretty constant, and little stronger to the point where it was a little uncomfortable. Hopefully it's a good sign of things to come!

@runnerd: Surprisingly it wasn't as uncomfortable as I thought it might be haha! Typically it's one position I won't do period so I have to say I'm quite impressed with myself for attempting it.

@lauraeabel: I know what you mean about the google able name. Mine isn't necessarily google able but it does have my son's nickname so I'm thinking about changing it after DD is born. I just don't know what to change it to - but something with more anonymity for sure.

For the record, DTD doesn't seem to give me an uptick in contractions or anything. So I'm not sure it's worth it but again - DH is thrilled so I'll keep it up for his sake. My friend who swears by it has 5 kids and she said it did the trick for all but I think it just depends on the person.

*38* weeks today! That is just crazy. C'mon baby girl -- we want to meet you!

Oh, by the way -- my cousin had to be induced today at 42 weeks! Ahhhh! Still no word on whether baby has arrived. But I just really hope none of us are in that boat. 42 weeks sounds miserable!

love reading these updates and everyone's outfits for going home are adorable!!

Ava update: little chick was discharged this past Wednesday after passing her car seat test and taking all her feeds orally for a few days and boy are we glad to get her home... AND exhausted!!

I can say the nice (for lack of a better word) thing about our 30+ days in the nicu is that we got to know Ava before taking her home, and she was already on a feeding schedule which we are sticking with for now. She is now up to 5lbs 2oz and we go for a weight check tomorrow.

Now that we are somewhat settled in at home I look forward to catching up on my HB and reading everyone's updates

Update for me: My OB gave me the all-clear to go camping 1.5 hours away this past weekend. She checked my cervix and I was softening but not dilating so that was enough for her.

Camping was pretty much as hot and uncomfortable and not fun as I imagined but I had a great time with my family and my nanny kids and we had great weather (meaning no rain).

My hemorrhoid is acting up but my BM's are looser so that's been great! And now I'm just excited for baby to come! No more leaving town for this girl!

@coopsmama: love the doggie style idea! Just told the hubby about that one so I'm sure we'll be trying it out soon!

Oh I'm not sleeping very well, but that's not new. Also having some BH tightening and lots of pressure on bladder all.the.time!

I've been terrible at keeping up with everyone -- my apologies! I love reading all your updates and am so excited July is almost here!

As for me, I went to the doctor yesterday and had my first cervical check -- I'm 4 cm and 70% effaced! I've been ordered to "do nothing" for this week so we can hopefully make it to 37 weeks. I know some people are dilated for weeks before going into labor, but I have thought this baby would make an early appearance since the beginning and I still think that will be true. Anyway, DH and I scrambled to get our bags packed and ready last night so now we're just waiting for the show to start. I'm excited and anxious all at the same time!!

@BlueberryPie: that's so exciting!!! Hopefully he stays put until at least Friday- that's not super far off so just take it easy and you should be in the clear! I have to admit as your due date twin I'm kind of envious you will probably go early. I'm fairly certain I'll be going late.

Well, my regular OB was out today and she wanted to do a cervical check at my last appt (which I asked to hold off until this appt) but since I saw another OB today, she said she likes to wait until 38 weeks (even though I was having false labor last week).

So, nothing new here except that I had the group B test done. Anything new with you ladies? Any more exciting news from check-ups?

  20. coopsmama

    cantaloupe / 6059 posts

@HLK208: Nothing super new here. I don't have another appointment until Friday morning. I'm kinda getting curious and wanting to be checked but I will have DS with me and usually he takes my complete attention at appointments so I'm not sure that would be the best idea.

Lots of contractions at night lately which is good and I hope means something is happening! And I've been (tmi) been losing lots of what appears to be chunks of my mucous plug. I would love it if @runnerd 's prediction came true and I had baby tomorrow but I have a feeling I still have at least a week left. (I'm 38+3 today.) Ideally baby would come Sunday because that's when my IL's will be gone and then DH would only need to take 4 days off from work as he will have the 4th off already.

C'mon baby girl!! Bring on labor.

    kiwi / 714 posts

@HLK208: nothing new here either, except my hospital bag is mostly packed. Just need to throw some clothes and my phone charger in there once labor happens, and I have a checklist on the bag to make sure we don't forget things. Really itching for her to just get here already.
OB did the gbs swab today, which was SUPER fun. Cervical checks start next week.

@coopsmama ooooh that's all very promising!! Hopefully she comes soon for you =)

    cantaloupe / 6059 posts

@lauraeabel: I have a checklist like that waiting on my bag, too. Hoping it helps me stay sane when I need to grab last minute things in the moment.

I'm sitting here at 3:45 in the afternoon while DS naps eating... Ice cream! As though I couldn't be more stereotypically pregnant. Sheesh!

@coopsmama: I may or may not have had ice cream ( with chocolate shell) for lunch.

@coopsmama: woohoo! Hoping baby girl comes soon!!

@lauraeabel: oh yeah, I packed my hospital bag (except for things like my tooth brush and maternity clothes that I'll wear home).

Also, I installed the infant seat (trying to get LO's use to their new spots in the car). I ordered the pack n' play today (I left mine at my parents and my mom gave it away!) and the carrier so I think we have everything now. Juuuust waiting.

  26. cookiemomster

    kiwi / 714 posts

@HLK208: mom should've been made to buy you a new one, that wasn't cool of her!! I'm itching to install the car seat but my husband insists it's still too early.

Random question: what does it feel like/how do you tell when the baby has dropped? My lady bits have been s o r e all day and I feel way more pressure on my bladder/colon area, but I'm not sure if that would be why or if she's just getting bigger. My bump looks pretty low but I have no idea how to judge this stuff.

  27. Mrs. Cookie

    blogger / persimmon / 1225 posts

@lauraeabel: That's a great question! I feel a real heaviness in my abdomen and seem to pee more frequently than ever, but how do you know when you've dropped? My one friend had people telling her she hadn't dropped up until the day she gave birth!

I passed my strep test from last week! Have another appt today but not sure I'll get another cervical check since I'm just 36 weeks on Friday. Car seat base was installed last night and this afternoon my mom and I are grabbing a few last minute items from Babies R Us.

@littleredhairedgrl: glad all is going well! i love when you pics of her on instagram!!

@BlueberryPie: craziness!! hopefully you are on the verge of baby time! can't wait for you to pop back in with a pic of your LO!

@coopsmama: you have like 14 hours to make my prediction come true

@lauraeabel: @coopsmama: a last minute checklist for hospital is the next thing to do on my to do list!

@lauraeabel: wish i could help ya! i keep hoping that LO has dropped but i don't think he has.

I've got appointment with my OB and the specialist today, so we should have a better idea on if meeting F is right around the corner or if we are still in the wait another week for update camp. I just have no idea what to expect to find out at today's appointment! hopefully he has grown well, but I wouldn't be sad about getting to meet him early either.

@HLK208: we installed our carseat base this week. i feel like such a poser riding around with it in the back, but no baby yet haha.

  29. MK0180

    kiwi / 545 posts

@runnerd: we have our carseat installed and there's a stuffed Yoda sitting in it We should probably take it out but then we forget to!

I feel like everybody else - waiting, sore, eagerly anticipating
38 weeks right now - I have an OB appt this afternoon - pretty sure nothing has progressed. I feel like baby has gotten lower but I really don't know. I've had pelvic pressure and sore lady parts for a couple weeks already so I don't really know if he's dropped any lower. I also think I've had a couple of BH but they haven't been that much.
Also, if you haven't had a prenatal massage - I highly suggest it. Had one on Sunday and it was magical!

Can't wait to see some baby updates!!!

@runnerd: Less than 12 now and nothing interesting going on over here! Bummer deal. I can't wait to hear the update on your baby boy - hope the appointment goes well and you guys receive good news.

10 days until my due date. I'm starting to feel like I will most definitely see that day. I went on a long walk with DH and C last night (just to get DS out and to enjoy the weather - not to try and stimulate labor!) and had no contractions. That was kind of a reality check! But as long as baby girl is developing happily and healthily - I will be patient.

    @runnerd: thinking of you today!

@coopsmama: every time your name pops up on this thread, I think, "Oooh! Baby time?!" Haha. I have contractions every hour, like big, bad ones but I just know I will be waiting until 40 weeks!

  35. coopsmama

    cantaloupe / 6059 posts

@HLK208: You'll probably find out on IG first! But seriously - any time this thread comes out I do have to wonder which one of us is in labor. I've never participated in a due date thread before this and it's actually making my wait easier because I feel like waiting for all of you to go is exciting and adding intrigue to the last few weeks!

@runnerd: thinking of you and can't wait for an update!

@coopsmama: hoping you go soon but like you said, as long as baby is healthy, there's no big rush!

@HLK208: Wow, hope your contractions lead to baby soon!

I'm 36 weeks tomorrow, still no dilation and baby boy is still sitting high. Guessing I have a long month ahead of me, oh well!

  37. NorCalWayfarer

    nectarine / 2134 posts

I'm 38+1 and had an appt with my OB yesterday. Still only 1 cm dilated but 80% effaced. He said baby was still pretty high up so he doesn't expect him to make an appearance any time soon.

TMI warning: Had what felt like a rough cervical check, turned out to be sweeping my membranes. Kinda annoyed he didn't tell me he was going to do it. I hadn't thought to ask him to tell me since I was only 38 weeks (I thought they did it later). Jokes on him though (or me?) because it looked like a crime scene in there. Freaked DH out a bit. But the bleeding pretty much stopped a couple hours later and now just spotting.

Too much blood for my taste recently...I had a pretty nasty bloody nose (first real one ever) and when brushing my teeth this morning my gums started bleeding -- DH said it looked like I'd be punched in the mouth there was so much blood! I'm pretty sure labor is going to look like a scene out of Dexter!

  38. cookiemomster

    kiwi / 714 posts

@NorCalWayfarer: why would he sweep your membranes without even telling you? That seems crazy!

  39. NorCalWayfarer

    nectarine / 2134 posts

@lauraeabel: Apparently it's pretty common for OBs to do without even telling you (or so I've heard).

  40. mlm2934

    grapefruit / 4311 posts

@NorCalWayfarer: wow that's weird, I had no idea that they'd do that sorta thing without discussing!

Well here's my update: appointment was better than expected - he gained 13oz so up to 4lb 15oz with good vitals! So he gets to stay put, but they scheduled me to start induction night of 7/13 if he doesn't come before then on his own. Now our fingers are crossed for a 6lb at delivery!! That's exciting with all the worrying he'd be <5lb.
