@MrsCDH: ahh I'd be anxious with DH leaving, but you're right probably early enough that don't need to worry!
@HLK208: DH has been pretty good to me, but he doesn't necessarily treat me too much like a pregnant lady, although he doesn't make me feel guilty at all for the million naps I take!
I'm hoping to get a pedicure next weekend when we are killing time until induction! I don't know about y'all, but I've had 2 pedicures in past 3 months, and my heels are almost instantly dry and nasty again! I'm thinking it must be a pregnancy hormone thing.
@princessandthebee: a Facebook group sounds awesome! I don't post too many pics/statuses on FB but I don't think it's weird to friend each other!

Baby William declared independence early, born July 4 Had a c section as his heart rate wasn't keeping at a steady pace when contractions occurred and it turns out he was trying to descend sideways with the cord around his neck. We are in love and exhausted
Good luck mamas!!

@runnerd: Hanging tight! DS has had a fever the past 3 days which finally broke this morning and he is a happy little boy once again AND I made DH help me deep clean the house last night (vacuum, reorganized kid's closets, dusting, bathrooms, etc.) so we're ready and waiting! I hope she comes this week because I was exhausted after cleaning last night and don't want to do another marathon cleaning session next weekend!
How's everyone feeling? Did any one do anything super exciting over the long weekend?

Oh! And I'm now ready to officially break out the natural labor induction methods! Yoga ball out today, DTD yesterday (tmi!), went for a walk yesterday....what else should I give a go?

@coopsmama: spicy food? Pineapple?! I can't believe you've reached your due date!!

Nothing too exciting here, we just watched fireworks from our house on Friday, deep cleaned the house yesterday and we're going to take the kids to an air show today. What about you?
No more cramping here but then again it's suppose to get hot this week and I think I cramp/have more contractions because I can't possibly keep my body as hydrated as it needs to be in this hot weather!

@MK0180: congratulations, he is so so cute!
@coopsmama I've been trying pretty much everything I can because of my back issues, I just want to be done. Things that at least seem to be coinciding with contractions that are stronger are taking the dogs for a walk, the labor ball, and red raspberry leaf tea. I also have major contractions after sex, which is tmi, but true none the less.
Obviously none of this means a whole lot since none of it's been true labor yet.

@MK0180: Yay, what a sweet pic! Congrats on baby William!!
@coopsmama: Thinking of you on your due date! Hoping baby comes soon, sounds like you're trying lots of stuff!
I did get a pedi recently, and had to majorly apologize for the monstrosities that I call my ankles and feet. Ugh But that should last me this whole month.
So yay for a private FB group! Anyone know how we get started and how we share our real names with each other? I know we can make the group secret on FB but we all have to be friends to invite each other.
@lauraeabel: Sorry about your back and all the false contractions. Do they ever seem to make a pattern?

I still feel like I have no idea what a contraction feels l like. Just in the last few weeks I've been having what I think are BH, a tightening around my lower tummy. Is that what they are when you're contracting but just more intense/painful?
kiwi / 714 posts
@princessandthebee: I was pretty embarrassed about the state of my feet at my pedicure yesterday, but they at least pretended to be understanding since I obviously can't reach them.
The contractions are really random, it's so unbelievably frustrating. They're also way different depending on the comtraction- sometimes it's just uncomfortable tightening, sometimes it feels more like indigestion, and other times it's like terrible menstrual cramps. On the fourth they were consistently happening about 5 minutes apart for an hour, and then stopped altogether until the next day. I'm really concerned though that I'm going to have no idea when I'm actually in labor because of how hard it is to pinpoint if what I'm feeling is a contraction.
As for the Facebook group, we would need to be friends to invite each other- since my real name is.... My name on HB, because I'm an idiot, if whoever wanted to be involved wants to friend me I can start it for us?

@coopsmama: man I'm no help on the labor tactics, I've been walking 2-3mi a day, and I'm pretty sure my body isn't stressed too badly buy it so far so fail!! And DH is nervous about sex this late in the game so that one is a no go too.
@princessandthebee: yea I'm pretty sure I have no idea about contractions too. I get crampy feeling in my pelvis area, but it doesn't come in waves. And when my stomach feels tight I'm pretty sure it's usually just the baby
@lauraeabel: haha, ok I'll go ahead and add you if you want to take the lead on a group
blogger / persimmon / 1225 posts
@lauraeabel: @runnerd: I'm bad at searching on FB apparently because I couldn't figure out which one was her. So I walled her my real name.
blogger / persimmon / 1225 posts
@runnerd: Oh I feel you on thinking a cramp is something else. Every time I have gas (from taking so many stool softeners!) I think this could be a contraction too...hmmm... no wait. I just gotta poo. DAMNIT.

@princessandthebee: also, I am totally guilty of thinking indigestion was a contraction. But google says they're really similar feelings soooo I feel less dumb about it than I did.

@lauraeabel: Found you, thanks for sharing the pic! I never got a FB message, weird.

Just checking in with you ladies!! It's been a whirlwind 6 days and it's tough to find time to eat/shower.. much less browse the internet all totally worth it of course! Brandon is doing well, having some latching issues which lead to very long nights and tired parents. We check in with lactation tomorrow and see if we can't do some trouble shooting. Breastfeeding is pretty important to me so fingers crossed!
Congrats @keiki_mama, @BlueberryPie, and @MK0180! And good luck to the rest of you ladies! You're in the home stretch now!! I can't wait for the updates!
ETA: @lauraeabel: I totally want in on the FB group! I can't find you either.. I'll wall you my name or if you tell me the name of the group I can search for it and request to be added?

@thismustbetheplace: he's adorable!! Thanks for updating us, and good luck at the LC tomorrow!

@HLK208: @lauraeabel: @runnerd: Well, as far as the labor induction techniques, I bought a pineapple today and cut it up and am planning on blending it up with some ice and coconut milk for a smoothie after dinner because I actually really hate pineapple but can deal with it in that form! Trying to convince myself it's a piña colada and I'm on the beach in Mexico. Tonight I'm planning on DTD with the hubs again and then bouncing on the yoga ball for a few hours while we watch something. I'll report back tomorrow with any changes! Oh, and I take red raspberry leaf tea in a super strong form every single day and have since about 26 weeks... I followed the same regime with my last one and it didn't seem to increase contractions before labor but it definitely helped them be productive and effective during labor. The nurses were in awe looking at the monitor! I also take Dr. Christopher's Birth Prep pills which contain it and a few other labor-friendly herbs.
@HLK208: An air show sounds fun! I hope you guys had a great time! We were with family for the 4th at our lake cabin but have had to be pretty low key the rest of the weekend due to DS's sickness but it's been good and relaxing.
@princessandthebee: @lauraeabel: You guys will definitely know what a real contraction is and if you're in labor when it's time! I had the same worry but it was night and day from anything I'd experienced before labor started. At least in my case, it was unmistakeable! It was one of my worst fears that I'd call my birth team with C before I was truly in labor haha.
@lauraeabel: I am looking for you on FB but can't find ya! I'll Gold walk you my name so you can add me so I can be a part of the group! Thanks for setting it up.
@thismustbetheplace: He is SO cute! I can't even stand it. I hope you get the latching issues figured out. Breast feeding is so so hard at first but definitely worth it to push through if that's what you're wanting to do! I'm sure the LC will have great advice.

@coopsmama: looks like you found me!
I'm glad to know you had the same fears and that they ended up being wrong. Hopefully it's the same for us!
I'll have to look into the herbs you're talking about, though I'm not sure how much good it would do me this late in the game. I hope the stuff you're trying pays off and you have a newborn soon! Very anxious to see baby Marlowe.

@thismustbetheplace: aww love the update and adorable photo!!
@coopsmama: I like the idea of the herbal supplements. And I'll definitely be adding a pineapple to my list for tomorrow!
Just DTD this afternoon with DH, and went walking this morning and just now. Seriously though, my due date seems so far away. I guess it can't hurt?

I'm upping the ante even more for tonight and am eating spicy burritos for dinner. And I may have to try these cookies in the next few days -- http://blogs.babycenter.com/life_and_home/jumpstart-your-labor-cookies/
If anything it's fun just to have something to do while the wait continues!

@princessandthebee: Definitely can't hurt! Why not get started early -- who knows, it may help the process along and you may beat me to it!

@coopsmama: okay, I ate fresh jalopenos an hour ago...I'm having contractions every 5 minute now! Go eat some. With a lot of seeds!
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
@HLK208: Oh my gosh! Keep us updated! This sounds very promising indeed. I don't have any jalapeños here but if you have a baby by tomorrow I can guarantee that the rest of us remaining July mamas will be hitting up the store tomorrow haha.

@HLK208: eek, so exciting!! Can't wait for more updates!

@HLK208: I need an update!!! If it worked I'm seriously on my way to the store.
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
@lauraeabel: Well this isn't an update on HLK but I will agree that, if that worked, I'm headed to the store too. DTD + spicy burritos + a pineapple + lots of yoga ball time + being active yesterday only earned me one or two painful contractions all night.
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
@lauraeabel: It's more positional than anything I think. She's been posterior now for months and I've read that can cause erratic labor, delayed labor, long labor, and post-date babies. Sounds like a lot of fun. DS was a hellish labor so I'm already prepared for that aspect but he was only 4 days late. I'm just scared of going 2 weeks late or something. Eeeek.
