So how's everyone handling the early weeks? Any big symptoms this week? Appointments coming up? My first appt is a week from today, can hardly stand the waiting. I think I'm starting to get a little nausea the past few days, but it's really mild.

@NorCalWayfarer: thanks lovely lady. Glad to see YOU round these parts

@runnerd i go for my 6wk beta and ultrasound tomorrow and really pretty nervous, but trying hard to stay calm and believe that it will go well. i guess it's just hard for me to believe that we are out of the woods because it took us so long to get here.. also, dh is away until Friday so will be at the appt alone
symptoms are still pretty much the same -- extremely tired, sore sore bbs, bloating and super slight nausea sometimes (mostly when i'm really hungry).

@keiki_mama: welcome!
Symptoms so far are fatigue, a little nausea, some random cramping. I'm also feeling a little moody but that's probably because I have to sit through six hours of computer training and that would drive anyone crazy >:-|

Welcome to all the new July mamas! It's awesome how big our group has grown!
@runnerd: My first appointment isn't until December 5th. I'll be almost 10 weeks then. FX everything looks good at that appointment since it's a long time to wait -- although, since I have chosen a new provider, I'm not even sure what they'll be doing!
Symptoms are ever present moderate nausea and exhaustion. I've been napping every single day with for a couple hours with my 5 month old. I'm really glad he's still napping 3x a day -- keeps me sane!

@keiki_mama: Welcome! I'm another Bay Area person.
@runnerd: Your first appt will be here before you know it and hopefully you will get to see the baby! I have my second ultra sound in a week and I can't wait.
My new symptom is food aversion. This little thing has a some serious veto power over what I eat! I'll be perfectly fine and then will try to think of what I want for dinner and get disgusted by my choices. I also am fatigued and have some sore boobs.

@keiki_mama: Welcome!
My symptoms are really mild but it's still very early on for me. Sore boobs and a bit more tired, bloated, and light constipation!
Question about due dates:
Anyone going off of their O date vs their LMP? If I go by LMP I'm a little over 5 weeks along, if I go by O, I'm a little over 4 weeks. The due dates are either July 27 or July 21st... what would you do?
Does it really matter all that much? I just don't want to be induced early because my due date is too early but I'm alsowondering if I'm just over-thinking things. Those of you who charted, what are you basing your EDD on?
My next appt is Dec. 19th! Still waiting on numbers from my blood work.

@princessandthebee: I'm using my O date, I'd be 7w instead of 6w if I used LMP - I have 5 week cycles. I don't know how the doctor will date me, but I do think its important yo make sure your doctor is aware so they don't think your baby's growth progress is off in the early weeks when it makes a big difference

@runnerd: good call to let your doc know about both dates if you know them!

My symptoms seem to be ramping up the past couple days. Definitely noticing intense nausea here and there. Yuck! I've also been having lots of food aversions lately -- goodbye morning coffee! My boobs are super sore and I think I already need a bigger bra. Hormones have taken over my life!!
I went to see Justin Timberlake last night and I feel like I got hit by a bus today -- this pregnant lady just can't hang anymore! I didn't do anything crazy, but my body is telling me to slow down all day. Oh well, it was sooooooo awesome!

@littleredhairedgrl: I'm so sorry but I'm glad one is healthy and well
@keiki_mama: congrats!!
Very few symptoms here. I gag if I chew gum and if I stand up too quickly, I feel tugging and pulling in my stomach area which I felt with my last pregnancies.

Hi everybody, so after getting blood work done on Monday, I was STILL waiting for it today, so I called and luckily a nurse called me back before 5 PM.
She said my HCG level was at 297 when they tested at 4w1d, and that it's normal for early on it is. Of course the doctor told me this is only to have a baseline in case things go wrong. Also, since he hasn't reviewed the info they can't release the rest of the info/tests. Grrr, should I be annoyed that he's taking so long??
She also told me I have a rare blood type- A+, funny, I never knew my blood type before! I suppose it's good to know now. Did anyone know their blood type before pregnancy?
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
@littleredhairedgrl: so sorry for your loss but also how thrilling to see your LO's heartbeat strong and well!
@princessandthebee: I knew my blood type before my first pregnancy but only because I'd had to have allergy testing done. Otherwise, I don't think there's any other reason I would have known it. UGH so frustrating the doctor is taking so long to review your test's numbers! I guess they don't realize how important this is to us pregnant ladies but hey -- we need info, stat!! Hope you get great results asap!

@princessandthebee: At the ob office I went to, they only used LMP so I changed my LMP date to two weeks before the day I knew I conceived.
Ironically with my LO I had calculated her due date to be 11/21. When I had my first ultrasound, they changed it to 11/12. She was born on 11/21, so I was right all along!

@kml636: that's so smart about changing your LMP date, wish I'd thought of that - would make all the doc convos simpler!
